If a blog has a lot of spelling/grammar errors...

b) tell the blogger that it's unreadable?

It would have to be telling a compelling story to maintain my interest, but I wouldn't tell the blogger, I'd just leave.

I would assume that it's up to the blogger to make their blog readable just like me and my overformatting

My one exception is a friend of DP's who has severe dyslexia. She went to South America for six months, and blogged about her travels so we could keep up with how she got on. I endured the spelling because I know her and was interested in how she was doing. For a stranger, my brain would have switched off by the second sentence, the same way it does with semi-literate posts on forums

If it was interesting enough I would probably keep reading, if however I got a sniff of text type speak, I would be off in a flash.

Not text speak, but just poor punctuation, grammar and spelling. So bad as to almost lose the meaning of the post.

Why do you have to persevere? Is there a reason you can't just close that tab and not go back?

If it became too difficult to read then I would certainly give up. I'd probably want to know the blogger's circumstances before I let them know it was unreadable. I certainly wouldn't want to offend if there was some kind of issue like dyslexia, but then I presume dyslexia doesn't lead to a complete loss of meaning? rather than mixed up letters that one can generally work out?

I wouldn't continue reading beyond a couple of posts if I found it difficult to get through. I think the only exception would be if it was a blog by someone I'm connected to in real life.

I'm quite a believer in writing what I want to and reading the things that appeal to me. The blogosphere's huge and it's simple to move on.

I wouldn't ever give critical feedback of any kind unless the blogger had specifically requested it. I've seen too many people trying to be helpful and finishing up with their heads being bitten off.
