I plan on reducing my sugar intake, and up my exercise.

FauxFox Fri 10-May-13 13:48:12

Hi house see you Monday! I'm weighing on Fridays as weekends are always a bit more relaxed for me - much easier to be 'good' during the week!

tigerchair Sun 12-May-13 12:35:41

Hi fauxfox, can I join in with you? I'm 5'4" and currently weigh 10st 13lbs, want to get to 9st 13lbs then see if I can get to 9.5 stone after that. I'm wearing size 14 jeans so would be nice to drop a dress size. I will try to run/exercise more too. Yesterday I ran 4 miles, can't get out today but will try to do workout dvd at home instead and try to incorporate more activity in general.

Well done on your weight loss smile

Today

So far I've had a mushroom omelette for breakfast, prob going to have soup for lunch. No idea about dinner yet.

FauxFox Sun 12-May-13 13:15:37

Hi tiger you are more than welcome smile

I decided the other food today:
Lunch - half a pot of fresh tomato soup + 2 ryvita
Dinner - Lamb tagine with cous cous and roast courgettes
Hi Lights hot choc this evening too

tigerchair Sun 12-May-13 16:49:21

Thanks fauxfox

Your food today sounds good. I'm going to have a horlicks light tonight...booze free here too until next weekend after a few glasses of yummy shiraz last night smile

Went out for lunch with dcs so soup for dinner tonight. We went to one of those chinese buffet type places so it was beef in black bean sauce, green beans and boiled rice then fresh fruit salad for dessert (plus two forkfuls of cake!).

Have done some leg squats and will do some push ups. Will try to fit an exercise dvd in too. Hoping to run tomorrow, short distance of two miles but at fast intervals pace.

I soooo want to lose this stone before end of June if possible!!

FauxFox Sun 12-May-13 18:38:58

Same tiger the sooner the better!

JustinBiebermakesmevom Sun 12-May-13 18:56:42

Well done Faux Fox...been reading your thread since it started but hadn't got round to posting. I'll commit and say I'll join up tomorrow ! Will weigh in in the morning. Sunday is my wine day so enjoying a glass of Merlot as we speak.

FauxFox Sun 12-May-13 19:04:11

Hi Justin I might weigh in the morning too, see what damage the weekend has caused - am hoping to be the same as i was on Friday after all this running...we'll see!

JustinBiebermakesmevom Sun 12-May-13 19:09:27

I need to get exercising but I've been feeling a bit s*it lately. Waiting on test results to see if I have MS (I've had mild symptoms) so my head has been all over the place recently. I can't use that as an excuse though - I know losing some weight and fitting into clothes that I bought 2 summers ago but still haven't worn will definitely make me feel better ! See you tomorrow x

tigerchair Sun 12-May-13 20:07:00

Hi justin, welcome aboard, v jealous of your merlot...cheers smile

Just had bowl of lentil soup and a banana while I watched 'The Voice' so no more food now till tomorrow except my mug of horlicks!

I'll weigh in tomorrow morning to start the week too.

Did some push ups using a kitchen chair to lean on....dog giving me weird looks...fair enough, I'm sure it's not a pretty sight grin

Seey'all tomorrow

sebsmama Sun 12-May-13 20:27:13

Hi all.
I would like to join. I find MFP a pain.but like the idea of logging. I am breastfeeding my 4 month old so will not be dieting as such, just trying to be more conscious of what I eat. And less cake.
Will weigh in tomorrow but think I am about 10 stone. Only 5'0 so need to shift a couple of stone, slowly. Also want to tone up as I have v attractive CSection overhang, nice!
Plan for tomorrow:
Bfast - toast, greek yoghurt.
Lunch - not sure.
Dinner - risotto with leftover baked ham, salad
8 glasses of water (need to work on this)
Will see how it goes. Have a zumba thing for the wii, going to try that for exercise.
Good luck all.

FauxFox Mon 13-May-13 07:00:10

Hi sebs welcome smile

Well I am still 11st which is good - should be into the 10 somethings by friday!

Today:

Snack - apple

HousewifeFromHeaven Mon 13-May-13 07:51:51

Morning all I'm in as from RIGHT NOW grin

tigerchair Mon 13-May-13 09:09:11

Hi sebs and housewife smile

I have weighed this morning and I'm 10 st 11.5lbs yayyy!!!

Breakfast : 2 slices wholemeal toast with butter and a banana
Cup of tea

Lunch : soup

Dinner : stir fry with rice, fresh fruit

I want to get out for a run and also going to do major cleaning blast as off work today. Have done about 30 leg squats so far...will keep at them, also some push ups. How much running do you normally do faux? I'm slowly building up my mileage again after getting out of the running habit for a while. Starting to really enjoy it again smile

Need to remember to drink more water too.

Have a good day everyone, think how good we'll feel that we ditched that stone for summer!

tigerchair Mon 13-May-13 18:43:36

Didn't have time for my run today so will have to fit an extra one in during the week. Have done over 50 leg squats, aiming to do 50 push ups and 50 sit ups before bedtime, aarghhh!

Gym session tomorrow which will be a combination of treadmill and weights/core stability exercises.

How's everyone else's day been smile

JustinBiebermakesmevom Mon 13-May-13 18:55:40

Well I weighed in at 10st 7lbs which has pissed me right off....but there's only one thing to do about it...yes, step away from the wine and Mars Bars Justin !!!!

Starting the 5:2 fast from tomorrow...I read the book earlier in the year and toyed with it but it's now time to get my finger oot ma arse. Not sure what I'll be doing exercise wise. I hurt my back last week and it's still pretty sore. Will need to get my thinking cap on.

tigerchair Mon 13-May-13 20:34:39

Stay away from those mars bars and booze, Justin!!! Aaaahhh, I love wine and choccy...why can't they be fat-burning foods, not fair at all. I had got into a really bad habit of wine/crisps after dcs in bed and I'm trying so hard to break it, was literally munching and glugging 100's of kcals in space of an hour to two...no wonder I've piled on a few lbs. It's green tea tonight instead and some sit ups.

Not sure what exercises to recommend if back sore or maybe better to rest it for a while till pain subsides? Swimming is low impact, maybe that would be good once back feels better if you enjoy going to the pool?

I'm trying to just move more in general...anything to burn off cals (I'm on holiday beg July and I could not venture out in bikini at present, drastic action required!!!

FauxFox Tue 14-May-13 06:56:16

I basically spent all day yesterday trying not to eat loads of biscuit-type comfort food or go back to bed! Not sure why confused I managed to keep it to 3 jaffa cakes extra to my plan but unfortunately succumbed to several glasses of wine last night - naughty!

Feel a bit better today (which is just as well as I have a tonne of work to do). I try and run 3 or 4 times a week tiger but it depends on my other commitments/the weather. I feel like going this morning but I need to dye my roots and last time I did this after a run it didn't 'take' as well (too sweaty?) so i'll go tomorrow.

Food today:
Breakfast - Low fat greek yog with melon and honey
Lunch - baked beans
Snack - apple
Dinner - Gammon steak with roast parsnips and green beans
and NO WINE!

tigerchair Tue 14-May-13 09:23:27

We all have days like that faux, you did well managing to stop at 3 jaffa cakes..I find them hard to resist! I weighed myself this morn (why, I don't know??) and am back to 10st 13lbs, what's that all about? Couldn't have put on 1.5lbs in a day surely despite eating well.

Three or four runs a week is good going. I'm trying to get out more, would like to be doing two shorter runs during the week then a longer run at the weekends to increase distance but finding the time is often difficult here too.

Today's plan

Breakfast : slice toast and butter

Protein shake after gym (tough session!)

Lunch : veg soup, banana

Dinner : salmon and roasted veg

Hot choc (light) and green tea (miss my wine but trying to reduce to one or two weekend nights and maybe one midweek night...aiming for 4-5 alcohol free nights a week)

tigerchair Tue 14-May-13 17:47:30

Had a chat with one of personal trainers at gym today, she's told me that I really need to get my body used to burning fat for fuel and to focus on protein and veg for meals. Also recommended that I cut out bread. Will have to check out the low carb threads for motivation.

How's everyone else doing?

FauxFox Wed 15-May-13 07:26:12

Well a bit of choc did sneak in yesterday - I was given a massive bag of choc covered cherries! Cruel! I didn't eat them all though and may just throw the rest away to remove temptation!

Breakfast: Melon and yog
Lunch: Soup
Dinner: Cold roast chicken salad with celariac chips
Snack: apple

Exercise: 5k run (short route today as it's more sheltered and the weather is so windy today!)

JustinBiebermakesmevom Wed 15-May-13 08:26:02

Morning ALL,

I must be one of the few that absolutely hates Jaffa Cakes....they are the work of the devil...same with mint Kit Kats...and Terry's Chocolate Orange...(ok I'll shut up now as this is supposed to be a healthy eating thread). Been feeling crap health wise so haven't stuck to a fast day but will be eating this today:

60g porridge with soya milk and blackberries

2 oatcakes, tsp of houmous and a banana

prawn stir fry with 45g rice.

Drinks will be mint tea and water, maybe a cup of tea after dinner.

I've cut out bread (don't really eat pasta) as I find it really bloats me and I can't stop at one slice. I will also not be eating after dinner (around) 6pm until breakfast the next day. I'm going to stick with this for a few days and then get a proper fast day under my belt.

Tiger - I love my wine too - a bit too much - and have decided to replace my bottle with a mini bottle at the weekend. I'll just need to sit and savour it once the rug rats are in bed.

Have a great day everyone x

tigerchair Wed 15-May-13 09:04:28

Confession time...succumbed to the red wine last night! So no more until the weekend. That's a good idea about getting a mini bottle, sometimes I find it's hard to just stop at the one glass once a normal sized bottle is opened and normally end up having 2 or 3.

Today's food

Breakfast: bacon, eggs, mushrooms

Lunch: mozzarella, tomato and basil salad

Dinner: not sure yet

Lots of water with a splash of lemon juice (detox after wine!)

Exercise -will take dog for a long, brisk walk
-lunges, squats and push ups
-some weights and resistance band reps

Faux celeriac chips sound lovely, how do you cook them?

FauxFox Wed 15-May-13 09:24:03

Just peel and cut into chip shapes, toss in olive oil and sprinkle with salt and a bit of cayenne pepper and bake in the oven at 200 for 30 mins or so til golden. Yum. And low carbs grin

tigerchair Wed 15-May-13 09:29:59

Sound scrummy...will def try them smile

tigerchair Wed 15-May-13 09:42:46

Have decided on dinner, home made burger in lettuce wrap with tomato, onion and avocado. If I get to shops I might even add in a side of celeriac chips, yum.

Have a good day everyone smile

tigerchair Wed 15-May-13 17:36:54

Just had dinner, very tasty! Faux I made the celeriac chips, oh my word they are so yummy. Went to Tesco earlier and they had celeriac reduced so used half to make the chips and going to make soup with the other half. I made some guacamole to use as a dip for the chips. Have also drunk loads of water today.

Will do some more exercises then walk the dog. No wine tonight, it will be a cup of herbal tea while I'm watching the Apprentice.

Hope you all had a good day smile

FauxFox Wed 15-May-13 20:13:18

Glad you liked them tiger - mine are in the oven and smell lovely...

girliefriend Wed 15-May-13 20:23:40

Hello, well done ladies! I am impressed with the level of exercise you lot are doing and how little food you are eating as well!!

I am trying to loose half a stone (am 10st) and have cut out cake, biscuits and chocolate bars. I am a comfort eater though.

Today I have had

bfast - 2 pieces of wholemeal toast with marge and marmite

lunch - wholemeal pitta with humous, a yogurt and a cereal bar

dinner - roast with 2 sausages, 4 roast spuds, veg and 2 small yorkshire puds blush

I have also just had 4 squares of dark chocolate as was craving something sweet.

Exercise wise I marched round town and walked to collect dd from school (normally I am very lazy and drive!!)

tigerchair Wed 15-May-13 22:26:40

Hi girliefriend smile

I have found that the higher levels of protein that I'm trying to incorporate with most meals is really helping my appetite, I rarely feel hungry between meals at the moment. This is a revelation as I am normally a terrible snacker, would have frequently munched on unhealthy, snacky food after dcs were in bed, quite mindlessly mainly out of habit I think. I also was getting bouts of tiredness after eating too many sugary/starchy foods so I'm hoping this change in eating habits will boost my energy levels too. I really enjoy exercise, had got out of the way of doing it so frequently but I'm already feeling better for it (rejoined gym a few weeks ago).

Walking around town is still moving around so it counts! My main aim is to eat well and move more. Hopefully the weight loss will take care of itself if I follow this. I'm also going to enjoy a few glasses of red wine during the week and a 'non-diet' meal once a week if I need to.

Hope you all had a good day smile

Foosyerdoos Wed 15-May-13 22:39:42

Hi,
I am trying to loose about 2 stone. I am not a big fan of exercise but will try to walk more weather permitting.
I currently weigh 12 stone 4 but have already lost a couple of pounds. I am trying to eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day.
Today I had
Breakfast - grapes and coffee
Lunch - chicken, olives, sundried tomatoes, roast peppers shredded cabbage and carrot with a little ranch dressing. Yoghurt
Dinner - veggy pasta ready meal and a jam tart.
I am trying to reduce carbs and increase protein. I've not had chocolate for over a week but I am craving crisps.

JustinBiebermakesmevom Thu 16-May-13 07:12:15

Morning All,

Well I did pretty well yesterday, no cheating and no muching after my dinner at half 5 apart from a cup of tea.

Really wish my back would ease off so I could get doing some exercise thought. May attempt a power walk after dinner before DH heads out to one of his many gym sessions tonight. Not sure what I'm having food wise today....better get organised.

I am heading off to see lovely Leonardo in The Great Gatsby today though....

Have a happy day everyone !

P.s And remember "What you eat in private you where in public !" Heard that yesterday and thought it was very appropriate for me....grin

FauxFox Thu 16-May-13 08:11:20

Last week I was so good, this week the odd choccies or wine has just kept creeping in! If I can stick at 11st for tomorrows weigh in i'll be pleased enough...at least I was 4lbs down last week, I can't expect miracles hmm

Today:
Breakfast: Yog honey and seeds
Lunch: Ham ryvitas
Dinner: Sm Salmon and asparagus frittata and salad

Exercise: 5 mile run

I absolutely must drink more water too!

FauxFox Thu 16-May-13 08:26:01

Ooh justin was it good? Can't wait to see that!

tigerchair Thu 16-May-13 08:48:43

Hi everyone

Foos, if you up your protein hopefully cravings for snacks will ease a bit. Keep thinking how much better we'll all feel when we start getting towards our goal for summer and that will maybe help when the unhealthy food starts calling out to be munched?

Today

Breakfast : 2 poached eggs, tinned tomatoes

Lunch : celery sticks, cream cheese and guacamole
a few almonds

Dinner : celeriac soup
lettuce wrap with ham, cheese, tomato and onion

Exercise : going to take it easy today so just planning a walk with the dog

Lots of water and herbal tea

Have a good day everyone smile

Lol at the eat in private comment...very apt for me too grin

Foosyerdoos Thu 16-May-13 21:36:02

Hi everybody,
I had a bit of a rubbish day today, I went to London for work which involved an early flight and nice sandwiches and crisps at the meeting. However I succumbed to crisps an chocolate at the airport on the way home. So today I had:
Costa granola bar and skinny latte
A selection of sandwiches (which involved cheese) crisps and fruit
Cheese and onion crisps and a snickers.
Probably over 2000 cal.
Oh well back on the diet wagon tomorrow.

JustinBiebermakesmevom Thu 16-May-13 21:58:49

Today is over and done with Foos...I remember how much of a nightmare it could be when I was working and travelling. It's all too easy to grab whatever is there and munch. Tomorrow is another day and all that....

I devoured a large bag of Minstrels which salivating over Leonardo Di Caprio in The Great Gatsby...God knows how many calories were in it but it's not going to be every day or even every week.

Night and have a good day tomorrow everyone x

girliefriend Thu 16-May-13 22:16:11

I have not had the best of days either.

breakfast toast and marmite

lunch was pitta, humous and avacardo, a bag of noughts and crosses crisps, a yogurt.

dinner pesto pasta with tuna and mushrooms.

Was doing fairly well up until pudding which involved a rather large helping of eton mess (in my defence it was so delicious and def 1 of my 5 a day in strawberries wink )

exercise wise not much although did walk the school run again and will do a bit of jumping before bed grin

tigerchair Thu 16-May-13 22:16:43

Have eaten really well all day but just poured a large glass of red wine

Foos, at least you are mindful about what you ate today...there were days when I must have been grabbing handfuls of biscuits and not even registering that I'd eaten them because I wasn't thinking. Tomorrow's another day, don't be disheartened smile

Seeya all tomorrow x

FauxFox Fri 17-May-13 06:46:33

Morning all - I am still 11st which makes me happy! Not a very 'good' week, too much wine, but 4lb in 2 weeks is OK with me. I tried on a load of clothes and the running is def paying off in my shape too so yay!

I have a rather exciting weekend of socialising starting today so i'll be back on Monday but I promise myself that i'll only drink/eat the things that I really want, no mindless grazing. There will also be running involved one or two times before Monday.

Have a great weekend y'all - hope the sun shines on you smile

JustinBiebermakesmevom Fri 17-May-13 08:14:59

Enjoy your weekend Faux and well done at maintain 11st in spite of your up-down week. Enjoy your weekend...

Just had my porridge and berries

Not sure what to have for lunch, we're off to the transport museum today and I'll be making sandwiches for the kids but I don't want the bread...Getting a bit fed up with my oatcakes.

Dinner will probably be another stir fry as DH came home last night from Tesco with three bags full of reduced stuff....Stir Fry for 10p and 3 boxes of strawberries at 50p each !

Have a good day everyone...

Foosyerdoos Fri 17-May-13 21:22:42

Hiya,
I love eton mess Girlie I would not be able to resist that.
Hope everyone is having a nice evening.
Well despite falling off the crisps and chocolate abstinence wagon, I have still lost a couple of pounds and am now 12 stone 2 (yay).
So that gave me a boost.
So today -
Skipped brekkie (I don't really feel hungry 1st thing anyway )
Lunch - chicken, olives and roast peppers and some grapes.
Dinner- pulled BBQ brisket on a roll and some (just a few chips)
I am also having some wine but should be around my calorie limit and I don't feel any urge to snack.

Not much activity, I'm v.busy at work, but when things calm down I hope to fit in a lunch time walk.

tigerchair Sat 18-May-13 10:25:55

Hi everyone

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday so will do yesterday's and today's food diaries.

Yesterday
Breakfast : Protein shake before gym session and one afterwards (as recommended by personal trainer as I am trying to increase my running distance and have to teach my body to burn fat for fuel therefore no carby breakfast today! it definitely made the gym session feel more difficult but apparently I'll get used to it!)

Lunch : 4 slices roast turkey, radishes
banana, blueberries

Dinner : (out at restaurant)
Starter : Chicken on skewers with spicy dip
Main : Sizzling King Prawns with stirfried green beans
Liqueur coffee for dessert, 4 glasses of red wine (no alcohol now till next weekend hopefully!!)
2 seeded crackers when I got home with a glass of water to soak up the booze

--------------------------

Today : Porridge and protein shake (heading out soon to do a six mile run, banana afterwards)

Lunch : something salady, blueberries

dinner : Going to have a night off the diet and have pizza with the dcs (veggie toppings and will pass on the garlic bread)

Lots of water

Hope you are all having a great weekend smile

Foosyerdoos Sat 18-May-13 12:29:46

Hi, your dinner last night sounded lovely Tiger.
This morning I went out with the dog for an hour.
When I came back at about 11.30 I had a big bowl of porridge made with mainly water (no sugar) some raisins and a banana in it.
I now have to go to ASDA to get the ingredients for a cottage pie (lots of veg in it) for tea.
If I get hungry in between I will have some cold meat and olives.
I will also have 1/2 a bottle of white wine.( in the evening not mid afternoongrin
I also have a very untidy house to clean so hopefully that will burn off a few calories.smile

tigerchair Sun 19-May-13 16:48:37

Really took the night off the diet big style last night!! Fed up because I injured my leg out running yesterday by twisting my ankle as I pushed off a kerb sade

So.....I had some dark choccy, pizza for dinner, wine, share of kids' sweets, oh dear!!!!

Today

Handful blueberries, tbsp greek yoghurt
2 'healthy' sausages and an egg

2 boiled eggs, asparagus spears and tsp mayo

tigerchair Wed 22-May-13 14:39:34

Faux sorry to hear you are ill, it's hard to resist stuff like biscuits etc when feeling like that. Maybe try to just have a few then a piece of fruit or something instead (I love custard creams with a cup of tea so I know the craving!!). You've been doing so well with your food intake and exercise that it would be a shame not to keep it up over the next few days till you're hopefully feeling better x

Hi everyone....I went missing in action for a few days there. Wasn't feeling too good and eating well was the last thing on my mind.

But on a plus note I was 10st 5lbs when I weighed myself yesterday. I've started reading Marisa Peer's You Can Be Thin again....I read it and followed her ideas after the birth of DS1 and was the slimmest I've been in years. Then started eating crap again and allowing lots of treats (except they're not really treats if you're eating them every bloody day are they grin).

I liked the book because it addressed at lot of the psychological reasons of my over eating. Hopefully it will work this time round too and with more effort on my part will keep working....

Didn't feel like eating much today..

Breakfast : 2 boiled eggs, cup of tea

Lunch: Banana, tea

Dinner: Breaded fish, couple of baby boils, some salad.

Won't be eating anything else tonight...

Hope everyone is well x

Hi, just tagging along at the back! Currently I am size 14/16. I weigh in at 12st 4lbs, and ideally want to lose about 35lbs of that, as well as increase my general fitness and tone up, etc.

Started my good food/plenty of exercise approach to this eight days ago, and have cut out ice cream, crisps, biscuits, cake, chocolate and takeaways. I don't drink anyway, but I am really missing chocolate! So far I have lost nothing, bah.

Today's food:

Breakfast - Pineapple slices, glass of water

Lunch - Mixed leaf salad and luncheon meat sandwich (white bread, ran out of wholegrain blush ), cup of tea, peach

Dinner - Roast chicken and boiled potatoes with mixed vegetables and corn on the cob, 2 glasses of water, fruit salad

Supper - Toast with banana, tea

Hi everyone and welcome to ullena smile

Haven't been online last few days. Eating has been a bit erratic, mostly healthy but some junky type snacks oops.

Weigh in day for me, I'm 10st 9lbs so another 2 lbs off and 4 in total for the fortnight. Very pleased but will have to keep it up as still need those next 10lbs off!!

Still having problems with a pulled calf muscle so no running at the moment.

Breakfast : eggs and slice toast

Lunch : soup

Dinner : Chicken, veg, roasted sweet potato

Will try to do a little bit of exercise, maybe some sit ups or weight reps

Have a good day everyone x
