Anyone want to join me? Done day 1 today, want to tone up and lose 10 lb ish by 20 may when I go to Corfu, 1st abroad hol in over 10 years. Share success if you have done this programme previously too
I would like to have a go, will start tomorrow, would like to lose some weight before the summer, need to stop hiding behind big jumpers. Want to lose around the same as you, good luck to us both.
I'll start tomorrow too. Got a slightly bigger 3 stone to lose, SW has taken care of the first stone but had an easter binge and need to get back on track.
Day one done. Forgot how hard it is.
Did manage the harder exercises a couple of times though. My big challenge is getting past day 3, I don't think I've ever made it to day 4
I should be doing this - I told myself Id start on april 1st and do it for the month but I cricked my neck last week and its only now beginning to feel better. Ive got my dvd out and I'll have a go this evening. Dreading it though, its horrible

Oooh and me and me too! I took the cellophane off to sit and watch the DVD yesterday while I had my soup at lunchtime .
Glad to find a thread to help with the motivation. I'm due to graduate from the couch to 5k program on Saturday and I'm planning on carrying on running 3 times a week and shredding on the other days. The couch to 5k thread has been really good for motivation. I'm also trying to lose weight with intermittent fasting and the 5:2 thread has been good for that too.
I like the idea of the fat (ever so slowly) melting away to reveal a fit toned bod. But I have to do something to get one of them.
If I'm feeling up to it I might have a go at the shred this afternoon, but as I did a 5k run this morning I won't beat myself up if I don't start the shred until tomorrow.
I'm on couch to 5 k too, on week 4 after completing it last April and losing 3 stone. But got lazy at put 10 lb back on. Lost lot of fitness to

Shredded this afternoon but kept having to stop. The legs bits weren't too bad but I have zero upper body strength. The push up bits were ridiculous! It was all I could do for the second push up bit to just hold the starting position for the easy version. I think it'll take me 30 days to be able to finish the easy version of level one.

Shred day 3 here I come, although now sure how ill manage as I can barely walk with achy thighs lol

Ok, so I started this on the 2nd too. I got her dvd box set, so I've done one day Shred, yesterday I did the 6 week 6 pack and then just done Shred.
Can I just check, I had 'help' from my 18 month old. Every time I got on the floorshe came and sat on me! So that's extra calories burnt, right? Especially on the reverse crunches!!! So I'm allowed an extra biscuit????
Nurse I can't do press ups I just hold the plank! Spotty welcome!
Gonna have another go at the shred today. I wondered if it made a difference that a) I'd already gone running in the morning yesterday so may still have been tired from that and b) I find I exercise better in the morning before food and yesterday I shredded in the afternoon.
Of course, that's only for my ability to do cardio and the leg strength exercises. My arms couldn't do it cos they're weak! Well, that is the point of doing the shred after all.
rusmum, after much trying earlier in the year I can now do one easy version press up, about 5 seconds of slightly bending my elbows and the rest of the time I have to plank too. I'm hoping that's one of the things that will change.

Right I will start tomorrow but will I bugger my knees doing it in converse?!
Had another go today. Had to turn it off. I feel really pathetic not being able to do this, especially as I can finish a 5k run without stopping to walk. But I guess this is more intense.
I will try again tomorrow but just do the first circuit until I can complete that.
OK - I'm a bit behind but I'm ordering my DVD today so should hopefully have it tomorrow. I'm doing a sort of 5:2 / general calorie reduction combo. Also need to order some scales so I can see progress. I'm already with you in spirit though.
I always find to get motivated with exercise DVDs at home, find classes much better.. but with DC it is hard to find a class that fits into any spare windows that I have

OK, day 2 did not go well, fell over my 2 year old who was 'helping' me do starjumps.
Day 3 will be better ...
Glen I had that problem too! Yesterday my 3 yr old was running around me in circles while I was trying to do 6 week 6 pack and today the Little Un was 'adding resistence' for me on the crunches! DD1 loves doing the star jumps too!
Loving the toddler help stories. Nurse I find shred ok, ( just ok ish) but struggles to run for 5 full minutes. Don't knock yourself- keep going. See it like week 1 on c25k!!
Thanks rusmum! I had another go this morning and managed to stick with it longer as I promised myself I'd only do one circuit but really try my hardest to do it all. I didn't quite manage to do the whole lot. Had to put my arms down for some of the second set of squat and presses and had to just wave my arms in the air for some of the second set of jumping jacks, but a better attempt than yesterday. I even managed two of the easy version press ups before just having to hold the plank for the rest of the time. Fast forwarded through circuits two and three to do the cool down stretches because I didn't yesterday and my arms are killing me as a result.
I'm doing the park run tomorrow so won't shred (I think my arms will be glad of the rest) but next time I shred I think I'll ff through circuit one and do circuit two instead. Then the time after that I'll do circuit three and maybe keep rotating them until I can actually do each circuit properly (easy version). Then I'll try and do two circuits per work out then all three. When I can do all three I'll start counting up to 30.
My arms are in such a sorry state I have to give them a foundation course before they are up to doing the shred properly.
I think what little of the Shred I've managed to do is doing some good though! My arms and thighs are killing me. Hopefully that means I'm getting stronger.
I've just completed day 10 of level 1 and definitely not as achy as I was at the start. I've increased the weights to 3kg for circuits 1 and 2 but drop weight for final one as flagging by then!
Disappointed to not have lost any weight but haven't really been watching what I've been eating (the 600cal of Easter egg last night probably didn't help!)
Am dreading starting level 2 as hate planks, feet always seem to slip away! Have got buns DVD but not started yet. Im interested to know what the six pack one is like? Is it all abs exercises, any cardio in it?
I've just done day 1 of 30DS...really going to push myself to do the whole 30 days this time as really need to tone up and lose a stone! Managed 8 days about a year and I really did start to feel/notice a change in muscle tone and had comments. After this planning the 6 pack in 6 week so also would like to hear about that

Hi rusmum, I'll de-lurk! Have been following this thread every day as I started shredding on 1st April. Going to Ibiza on 16th May and need to tone up and lose a few pounds.
So day 8 done...only using 1kg weights and really struggle with the cycling sit ups at the end....but everything else seems to be getting easier.
Trying to eat 1000-1200 cals per day and walk every day.
Must admit, I do feel better - hoping to look better too by day 30...(roll on 30th April!!)
Yay hi!! Was getting dis heartened, especially as weighed in and lost..... Nothing!!!!!!! Worked so hard too. Oh well day 8 tomorrow
I haven't had any rest days yet...just finished day 9 and am starting to worry about what level 2 is going to bring.
Weighed myself and have put ON a pound!! What??!! Would I be kidding myself to claim it's muscle??

Ha yes I've just had 2 rest days after day 1! Due to my muscles aching SO much! Will do day 2 later today and caryy on daily from there. Have just bought some 1.5kg weights to use.
Ladies i've been shredding for a few weeks, i'm at level two session 8. It has made a big difference. I have lost several inches. My waist has seen the biggest loss.
It's free on u tube if you can use your laptop, lots of her dvd's are on u tube, 6 week six pack for whoever mentioned it.
I'm going to try shred level three alongside 6w6pack. I'm needing to fit into a bikini! :-)
Day 8 done, day 9 in morning then starting level,2 scared of that agh!!! Decided to,push through and not rest. Was just very achy. Can't see how it will,make a huge diff with low calorie burn but will,keep,on!!!!!!! How we all going?
I'm also going to start level 2 tomorrow - strangely looking forward to the change but worried it will be too hard and I'll get fed up!

I've been shredding too, I've just done day 4 L2. It's V hard, I struggle with the strength bit of circuit 3... My arms kill!!!
Think I am starting to notice a change, better upper body strength, arms more defined. Just want a toned bum and tum now!!!

Ok so day 2 L2 done...have to agree with notnow, my arms definitley look more toned. I can feel in my abs that they've had a work out - they just don't look that great yet!

It's arrived!!! I have watched it through and just done day 1 L1. I now know why I was supposed to do those pelvic floor exercises . OMG thank goodness it's only 20 mins. Not sure I could have done a moment more. The tummy wobble was vile during the jumping jacks etc Looking forward to doing it again tomorrow, though.
For those of you that have done it for a while - do you ever have a rest day? My 13yo DD wants to do it too. Any opinions?
Well done Andi if it's any consolation I know exactly what you mean about the pelvic floor problem....one of the reasons why I prefer to exercise at home

Done day 14....really didin't feel like it to be honest, but don't want to give up now...I can see (and feel) that it's working , do you think it is normal to lose some enthusiasm mid way through?

My 13 yo dd joined me this morning and she wasn't even out of breath, unlike me!
Not sure I will have the time to do it in the mornings now as it's too manic with the school run, so I guess I'll be doing it in the evenings from Monday.
Diet wise yesterday was great until dinner when caved in to a Chinese take away - epic fail. This was amid lots of swearing as building a set of bunk beds in a room only just big enough. 2 hours my arse - all blinking afternoon right up to 8pm.
Today is going to be a good diet friendly day.
Have decided that g & t is good your health!! Burned about 40 extra calories on shred today with hangover than usual. Lol didn't feel,like it but forced myself, done 3 ,
Mile walk/ jog too x back to work tomorrow (boo) so ?? If ill fit shred in! Well try my best x
Just completed day 14! Am really annoyed though as have not lost ANY weight, if anything I have put on a 1lb! Am definitely feeling demotivated, DP says I look slimmer but not sure if he's just being nice!
I should have done measurements at the start. I feel fitter as I now feel doing level 1 would be easy(ish) and I nearly died on day 1! My arms are more defined I guess. I don't think the abs work is long enough so sometimes do a few extra after once I have my breath back.
Need to stay motivated! Really can't be bothered at the end of the day which is only chance I have.
Day 1 done for me.
Quite like shred, want to lose a stone and plan to do shred days I can't get to gym.
I also have the joy of little helpers cheering from the sidelines

Iggle - don't fret, from what I'm hearing from v motivated ladies on the Jillian Michaels thread is that Shred isn't so much about weight loss, its more about tone and shape. You WILL be getting fitter and more defined. Also there is something about muscles retaining water after exercise? I didn't lose anything last week either but can see a difference in my shape

Ok day 4 done! I did do day 3 but forgot to post. It's difficult to find the motivation to do it in the evening, I really had to persuade myself tonight but luckily the angel on my shoulder won rather than the devil!
I've put on 1lb too so not impressed. I have been really good diet wise post the cheeky Chinese last Saturday. Hopefully by this Saturday I should see a loss on the scales.

Hi! I've been looking for a shred thread and come across this one-can I join?! Day two today- so so achy! Please can someone reassure me that it is worth it...!!
Day 5 for me here and in already seeing changes! My clothes are looser and I've lost 1lb already! Am very achy though, and I'm feeling incredibly warm all day and night. I think my metabolic rate must be higher than usual. I am also eating fairly wealthy and following ww principles of lots of fruit and veg. I'm so glad it's only 20 min though!
Day 5 for me last night, by the time I get kids to bed and tidy up its about 9pm before I can do it but I am sleeping well so that's a plus! Weight not shifted for 2 weeks (am half heartedly doing slimming world) so need to up my game - I've lost and kept off 3.5 stone for the last year so not all doom and gloom, but I want to lose another 1.5 so a fair way to go. If I could do that by say, end of June that would be beyond awesome.
That's great to hear then! Just done my third session this morning and feeling so so achy but good to hear that you think it's worth it! I have another 20lbs to lose and stalling a little so hopefully this will get the ball rolling again!
So pissed off. 6 x shred sessions, 3 x runs, 1200 cals day max - 3 lb gain! Wtf???? Bought wine in temper!!!!!!

Determined to see it through to day 30...is there anyone out there who's done it all the way through and can confirm there is a eureka moment, say around day 24, when you suddenly lose 7lb??
Tried a different scales ( at another tesco) they say I have stayed same, went on again to be sure lol. Must've dodgy scales? Have given wine to a friend lol
Very late starter here . I've been using MFP and sort of doing c25k since mid January and have lost just over a stone and a half - have about the same again to lose.
Feeling a bit thinner and a bit fitter but not really doing anything for toning.
Started 30ds yesterday so did Day 2 today - I don't have any weights so have been using a couple of tins of soup - guess I will need to get something heavier - what weight should I be looking for?
Legs feel fine, sore across my chest and tummy today - I feel given the pain that it should look all musclebound but still wobbly

I completed the shred recently - not in 30 days though. Just wanted to say that on level 2 I gained 4lbs. That went by the end of the programme and I've since lost another 3.
However, I am a completely different shape - my legs no longer meet in the middle, I have lost 3" from waist and have almost flat tummy (except when sitting down!). I'm now doing ripped in 30...
Keep going you will see progress!
Well as an experiment a friend and I started slimming world together. She also did the shred, I basically did no exercise. I lost a stone in six weeks and she lost twenty pounds. We were the same starting weight.
So now I am doing the shred!

Hmm - i've done it for two days and up until now I have been losing at least a pound a week, but only half a pound this week
Today is day 5 for me and I feel good! I have never ever exercised for more than 2-3 days in a row, so this is a big achievement.
Yesterday was the easiest day yet (although not easy!), my muscles were less achey on the morning, my squats were deeper, my press-ups are getting closer to actually being press ups and the workout seemed shorter. The side lunges with anterior raises still nearly kill me though!
I already think I can see improved tone in my thighs and abdominal obliques. I'm not sure if that's even possible after only 4 days of exercise!
I only have a little bit of an ache in my upper arms this morning so really going to push myself today.
This is the first step in me trying to gain control of my body and get fit. I recently went out for the day with some friends and was really impressed by the physical fitness of one of them, I found myself wishing I could be that fit and then realised there was no reason I couldn't. Just because I never have been it doesn't mean I can't. It will be hard work without a doubt but I have worked hard to achieve other things in my life, this is just different because it is physical, and I suppose different is a bit scary which is maybe why I haven't done it before. The bit at the end of the first circuit in level one where Jillian says along the lines of 'you can absolutely do this, you are lying to yourself if you say you can't, you are capable of working out' really motivates me. I can't say I'm finding her irritating yet.
I'm not weighing myself because I know from that if I don't see a change in the numbers I may become disheartened and lose momentum. So every day I eat well and exercise I tell myself this is an improvement on what I did previously, and it will be reflected in my body. I will know by the mirror and my clothes when my body is changing. I'm doing 5:2 as well.
I can see what you are saying katie, I've been weighing myelf every Friday for a few months now and have been finding it motivating so i don't want to stop that. Still half pound off is better than on and got day 3 shred and a run (ish) to do today so hopefully it will be better next week. Can i ask what size weights you have? Anyone? Will try to buy some at the weekend cos I don't think the soup cans are going to cut it after the next few days - did day 2 yesterday and not as sore as day 1 already - think I musn't be working hard enough!
I am using 4lb. I think the video shows them using 5lb ones. I was tempted to get 3lb ones but decided to challenge myself. I still can't finish some of the strength exercises with the 4lb weights!
oh well - just weighed the cans I was using which are only 1lb each so guess I need to step it up a bit
Yes my tin cans are only a pound each so I wil buy some proper eights.
I'm using 3lb can't do those bloody v raises on level 2! Day 16- done!!!!!
tbf - i find some of the strength stuff hard enough with the 1lbs so i take my hat off to you guys using heavier weights - think I need to do the 30 days twice, once with lighter weights and once with heavier - does that sound like a plan?
On a lighter note - I saw a two piece swim cossie in Sainsbugs last night - it had tummy control and a vest top style top with higher briefs - the 16 looked huge so I optimistically bought a 14 thinking I should lose enough by end June for it to fit and just tried it on and I can get into it and it doesn't even look criminally tight so pleased!!! and it has really spurred me on. I'm not wanting to get a brief bikini anyway - I've had 2 sections so have that hangover bit that I think even the shred is not going to get rid of, so will still need a decent brief - plus the stretchmarks So just celebrated by doing day 3. c25k week 6 run later too.
...back at Christmas time I was buying size 18 or 20.

I wasn't saying you shouldn't weigh in every week, just that it doesn't work for me. I took the batteries out of my scales a while ago, I don't even know where they are now.
I use 1kg weights but tbh I think I need heavier especially as my arms are one of the main areas I want to see changes, would like to feel confident wearing vests in the summer.
I've just completed day 5 and I worked really hard, I'm sweating loads and my pulse is still over 100, I have about 15 minutes to cool down before I need to get ready for the school run.
Will this work out improve my flexibility? I don't think it will, I need to fit something else in as well. I really notice how inflexible I am during the cool down!
oh I know that katie, don't worry, I was just wondering whether I should follow your example, but I think the weighing does work for me.
Yes, I'm not very flexible either - suppose that will come with more stretching - i'm better than I was just becasue I am moving more - I have a very sedentary job so sometimes don't shift of by beam end for 6 hours at a time
Maybe something like Pilates or something would help?
Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day! I've let myself go really since the boys were born but now that they are nearly 13 and 12 I have no excuse. I think once they got too big to carry and I wasn't running about after them, the rot set in. Better late than never!

I'm really disappointed I haven't managed to do shred today. I had the most horrific, what I assume was, ovulation pain this morning - I usually get some pain but this was much more intense, moving hurt so much I wanted to cry so there's no way I could have exercised. It's much better now but I don't have time and I've already had a bath and washed my hair. I'm working tonight and tomorrow night so I was probably being ambitious to think I wouldn't miss a day over the weekend but I'm really disappointed. I will definitely do it when I get up tomorrow afternoon.
On a more positive note I definitely can see some changes in the mirror!
Is everyone else managing to fit it in over the weekend? I think I will do some crunches and some hand weight exercises so I still feel like I've done aomething before I go out in a bit.
Isn't it meant to be getting easier?!? I'm on day 7 and still struggling to do push-ups and those arm raises in the third circuit! I'm guessing my upper arm/ shoulders are relatively weaker and that's why I'm struggling but its so demoralizing! My clothes are getting looser though, but I am struggling to avoid crisps and cake! I stupidly bought a multipack and now find myself unable to avoid them..
Day 18 done, 2 more than level 3, anyone tried it? Is it bad? I can't do those v raises or push ups, just do a few half push ups and then hold plank, and do slightly different arm raises to the v ones. That way I keep moving rather than keep stopping
Did 1st day of level 3 this morning....well gave it my best shot anyway. I found the ab exerceises really hard, might replace them with some from levels1 & 2.
Also lots more jumping (another thing I'm not great at .
Will give it another go tomorrow and review whether to carry on or go back to L2...I don't want to stop but I know me and if I really can't do it, I'll just get fed up and say "sod it"!

Am mightily pleased to be going onto L3... the V raises on the last circuit kill me, as do the plank thrust things on circuit 1. Must admit though its a bit easier than when I started
I do feel more toned (arms, chest and shoulders are definitely more defined)
Want to see an improvement in my abs though - I'm still flabby!
Skipping tonight as too zzzzzz won't get in till 8 so will do day 19 tomorrow! Only my second miss so not too bad, is it?

Did day 5 today - strangely the scales are not looking too good but I had people at work today saying they noticed a big difference since the last day I was in the office (Thursday) and I am wearing a shapeless, too big, horizontal striped top!! wonder if it is actually starting to help.......and my trousers are nearly falling down too

3 days off - not good. Saturday I was poorly and then Sunday and Monday were sleep days after night shifts.
I'm really pleased with myself for getting back into it though. I'm working 12 hour shifts tomorrow and Thursday so it will require a lot of motivation to Shred when I get home, but I will do it! I'm the only one losing out if I don't.
Just finished day 8 of level one and starting to get nervous about moving on to level 2 (and seen some scary messages about Vs and planks?!). please tell me it's not too much of a huge leap though? Not lost any weight yet but not gained either which I'm so pleased about-I had three meals out over the weekend! Plus people at work have notices so feeling very happy and determined to keep going!
Day 6 today and filled a couple of water bottles as weights so that they came up at 2lb instead of the 1lb bottles I was using - didn't really seem any harder. Still struggling with the push ups - even on the easy level but I have a bit of a dodgy shoulder anyway. apart from the lifts in the 3rd strength part where you are doing the side lunges, i don't feel I am getting anything out of the other arm bits - I find myself using those as a bit of a rest - should I be moving on to level 2 even though I can't do the push ups?
Third day off due to illness! Sore throat no energy, its oj ky chest too etc etc and eeating crap too! Going to try tomorrow even if I only manage half!!
I'd give level 2 a go soontobe - it's my favourite level and now I'm on level 3, I really miss it!!
Just done L3/day 4 - it IS getting easier...wondering what I'll do after day 30 - might go back and do l2 for a week.
Think I got my best results at Level 2, in as much as I thought I looked more toned (or maybe I'm not doing l3 properly )

Did day 7 todayweighed myslef this morning and not losing anything whereas I was before - not eating any more than I was - very strange.
Out for dinner tonight and Lunch on saturday so not going be a great week I don't think but I do feel my shape is better already - still got a bit of weight to shift though so now in a dilemma thinking maybe should ditch the shred for a month or so and try to get some more weight off and then start again??
I know I'm not going to lose everything I wanted to before hols at the end of June but if I managed another stone it would be good and if that was a tone up too I'd be really happy - just getting a bit stressed that the weight lose has stopped and now only 9 and a bit weeks to go so that stone is not looking v likey.

Well up to day 18, before my illness I had lost only 2 lb no inches and no viable change! Hoping it all kicks in at once! Back on it tomorrow , think I have tonsillitis
I'd lost 23lb since mid January - I've always lost even when I've been out for a meal - worked out my average loss up to last week was just over a pound and a half a week - My initial target is just to get into the "normal" weight range and I still have nearly a stone and a half to go to get there - Then i'd like to get comfortably inside normal to a weight that suits me - I don't want to get to my pre children weight as at nearly 47 I think that will be too thin.
and would mean i'd have about 4 stone to lose!!
I'm 5' 10 and currently weigh 13 stone 12. at my heaviest I was 15 and a half , pre kids I was 9 stone 3. I hit normal at 12 5 I think. Longer term I'd like to be about 11ish - that still seems very far away

I was speaking to someone today though that had gone on a diet and took up yoga and lost very little, this was just before her hols. She went on holiday and ate loads - a lot of fruit and salad to be fair as well as the holiday food and drink - and she came back half a stone lighter. She reckons that sometimes your body gets used to the diet food and exercise and you need a complete shift of food and regime and then it all kicks in again. Hope so
I lost 38lb last jan-may and put back on 12 lb nov-jan oops
I've been using Myfitnesspal to log my calories and I have been playing at the c25k - I've never gotten past week 6 so still do a mixture of walking and running for about 40 minutes 3 times a week. I've ditched alcohol completely - i'd rather use the calories for chocolate
And that's it really - I find that logging everything really makes me aware of what I've had and therefore it seems to be easy to be disciplined. If I've no calories left for a treat then I don't seem to crave it iyswim.
It works for me - or well it has so far. Never even felt hungry - nothing denied if I have the calories for it but I find that you naturally gravitate to foods that are healthier - cos I am a greedy cow and like to see my plate piled up - even if it is with carrots and cabbage etc. Honestly I have had plates that I could barely lift filled with mince, tatties and veg lean mince in gravy is quite low - go a bit canny on the mash and avoid the butter in them - which you don't need as you have gravy anyway. I can also do a huge stir fry for under 500 calories. Spice is the dieters friend - you can have as much as you want and it counts nothing but makes the food really tasty and not boring.
I had grilled Cajun spiced chicken with potato wedges and a huge salad for 450 cals the other day - it was lovely
Wow 38lb is brilliant!!! - that's exactly what I would have liked to have lost by my hols at the end of June - not looking likely anymore though. Thinking maybe its a bit of PMS - I hadn't had a period for nearly 2 years after a bit of slowing down with them so thought I was through the menopause - but had one last month which took me by surprise so maybe it's just water retention and I'll lose it next week <hopeful!>
Level 3 tomorrow on day 20 or day after? How much tougher is it?
mathematically it would be on day 21 but I guess it depends what suits.

Still v hard, I'm worn out after, but I find the exercises a but easier if that makes sense
I couldn't handle the v raises in L2!

Havent been doing weekends, today was day 1 level 2. Nice to have the change as level 1 was getting boring, plus as Ive rarely ventured into level 2 ground level 1 is just too familiar. Anyway hopefully I'll be moaning about level 3 in no time...
Dont have any scales at the moment so no idea of weight etc, no changes on the tape measuring but I am liking how my upper arms are looking and the definition in my thighs. Its whats keeping me going!
Level 3 Day 6 done and it is definitley getting easier - although I still find the first circuit a killer!
Have finally done a proper push up for the first time....struggled with the easy version on L1/D1 so really pleased with that.

I've had a sick OH at home, slouching about watching tv and generally interrupting my routine. Consequently I haven't managed it since last Thursday. Don't think he will be better for a few days yet either - I might be back to square one

Interestingly I haven't done Shred since last Thursday - weighed myself this morning and I've lost nearly 2lb since last Friday. Been out a couple of walks but only one run/walk for half an hour last night - with the OH incapacited I've had to do all the activity transport for the boys so it's hard to squeeze everything in.

I'm on day 17 now, feeling so much fitter and in much better shape than when I started, lost 2 pounds which I'm happy about but was hoping for more.
My arms look a lot more muscly but still not great as I still have my bingo wings-what size weights is very one using?! I'm using 2.5 pound ones but may have to increase as my arms are my main priority with summer coming!!
26 done 1 lb off that's 3 in total. Started daft detox today too . Arms legs feel more toned
Still no shred done but pleased with the 2lb off.
Maybe I'll just work on the diet for another month and then do the shred for the last month before hols?

Thats now 26lbs off since mid Jan. It would be good to get another 9 before hols - that would be 2 and a half stone of my original 3 stone target gone. Still think i'd like a bit more off after that but will see how that looks/feels first.
I did day three, level one today. I'm enjoying it, especially today as I ditched my 5kg weights (the only ones I have) for 1lb tins of tomatoes as my arms had been agony and I'd really struggled to complete the arm movements in the strength bit.
A few questions:
- do I have to do 30 days of level one or can I move up a level when I feel like it?
- is there a way of skipping her intro chat? It was useful on day one but I don't need it now and it wastes 2 minutes watching it.
I'm sure I had another question but can't remember what it was now.
I do zumba twice a week so will skip the shred on those days.
Has anyone gone from doing the shred to C25k? If so, how did you find it?
I think the intention is that you go to level 2 after 10 days and level 3 after 20 but really you move up when you feel ready.
I can skip the chat when you start on the level just by hitting fast forward as soon as I start the level 1 bit. I can't skip the earlier intro, but I put the dvd on and then i go and get my weights etc so it's usually finished by the time I am organised.
I had been doing the c25k before I started the shred so I find thye cardio bits of the shred a bit easier than i would have, but if you have been doing zumba then you should already have a level of fitness I would think.
Haven't really been doing either for the last week or so, OH still unwell and not getting the time or peace
Rusmum-what are you going to do when you finish the 30 days? I'm on day 20 and worried when I finish I'll lose the (tiny) bit of muscle definition I have gained and put weight on?
I'm thinking about going back to level one to try and maintain my weight loss and tone.
What has anyone else done post-shred?!
I finished day 30 on 30th April and feared exactly as you do lulu, ref losing (mildly but noticably) improved muscle definition. I've been doing the 3 levels on alternate days ie 1st may L1, 2nd May L2, 3rd May L3, then start again back to l1 on 4th May.
I do the cardio in levels 1 & 2 with weights tho....also trying to do the harder version of everything where I can.
Don't want to stop now I've got going....good luck everyone
I like lavendar's plan. I have insanity but not ready for they yet s will save it for later x
day 4 done . Some of the exercises I find really easy (chest presses for example); others I find really tough (the side lunge with the arm raises...its the arm raises I struggle with). Anyone else find this?

I'm shocked at how much I've got into it though, I'm not a natural born exerciser or even slightly fit but I feel like I HAVE to get my shred in everyday and I even went for a run the other day ha, bring on Rio 2016!
Insanity is like the jump moves in level 3 for 40 minutes!

Oh my gosh , progressed to level 2 last night, hung onto level 1 like a security blanket and I ache all over today. Going to do it again tonight though as as far as I recall day 1 level 1 made me ache all over too

Ok done level 2 for 3 times now it is getting easier. I may just be imagining it but I do think my posture has improved a bit too
