Moving in over here girls, the old pad was a tad crowded!!!

ChocolatesSnowAngel Wed 05-Dec-12 07:20:29

Would help if I spelt doom right, Damn small writing!

SlimJimBra Wed 05-Dec-12 07:42:49

Hello shiny new thread smile
Lady Ria that's got to be good news about your uncle, though I hope it doesn't take too much out of your parents. Bless you for looking after them smile
I do rl group on a tues eve so any WI day except mon is fine, though my WI will be from tues group even if we DoD on a fri (for example) as I don't have scales at home.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Wed 05-Dec-12 08:36:56

As I'm on a 'break' I can weigh at home whenever, probably Thursday this week as I need batteries for the scales.

Ria, agree, great news re your Uncle smile

ChocolatesSnowAngel Wed 05-Dec-12 08:48:41

Think I am coming down with a bastard cold, tried to head the creeping sore throat sensation off with some Corsodyl this morning.

I am always without fail ill by my birthday, every year I have a Damn red nose, you would think I had learnt by now to stock up on vitamins!

kid Wed 05-Dec-12 12:28:00

I'm working from home today as DS is poorly. Its wonderful working from home but I need to be strong and stay away from the fridge.
It's also DH's birthday and I'm making him a pistachio cake, well cupcakes. I should work out syn value so I can include them in my syn value for the day.

Is anyone doing the list today? Thought I'd join in for a change lol

ChocolatesSnowAngel Wed 05-Dec-12 13:45:48

I would normally do the list but i'm having a pamper session this evening so it would be going out really late, therefore best if someone else steps in.

Happy birthday to Kids DH grin hope your DS perks up in time for some cake!!

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 05-Dec-12 13:46:20

I missed WI (as usual). We have SNOW! typical as DH has to travel over 40 miles at 6am tomorrow for a temping job.

Hello!!!! Brand new shiny thread smilegood new about your uncle Ria, Dsis has her last chemo next Wednesday, so here's hoping!

Ive had a good'ish week - apart from fri and sat cracker consumption!!!

Am working tomorrow night but will get to a different class. Have spent the day in town and am all Christmassy!!!!

Would kill for choc - why is it always the day before weigh in!!!

Huffpot Wed 05-Dec-12 15:34:37

Marking place!

SlimJimBra Wed 05-Dec-12 17:50:13

In happy to do the list - pm me smile

Huffpot Wed 05-Dec-12 18:29:27

Am off to WI shortly but am expecting another gain due to a tad too much food shovelling!

kid Wed 05-Dec-12 19:04:14

I tried to send pm, but I don't think it went.

SlimJimBra Wed 05-Dec-12 20:22:59

Have only got one pm from huff so far. Kid do you want to try again?

Tomorrow is my weigh in day, but I've to work and might not get weighed in. Am happy to weigh in at home and report in mirning!!

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 05-Dec-12 22:14:09

I aren't on the list, but -
Ria no WI but wore smaller fleece jumper to work today, sadly with unsightly overhang in small jeansblush

think that translates as no loss! Am not sure when I last wore the fleece though, and if my jeans hadn't been of freshly-washed-tightness, it would have looked better...

FHF - do you know when the next mag is out? <too idle to go in the kitchen and look>

SlimJimBra Wed 05-Dec-12 22:17:47

The Big Fat List

kid is top of the class with a 2lb loss

huff has stayed the same (well apart from the teeny tiny baby she's gained this week grin)

slim is on the naughty bench for gaining 1/2 lb (but within target range)

<Passes bag of fruit to kid>

Well done ladies smile

Next week?? Not sure and also too idle to get out of bed and look grin
Will check when have diary out!

Had a bag of crisps there 5 syns. Just wanted and needed them / so had them. It was enough to stop the craving!!!

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 05-Dec-12 22:29:43

20th - just in time for my stockingwink

yay kid

have just realised that huff won't actually gain any weight at all now, it will be the baby getting bigger...

well done for managing your cravings FHF

kid Wed 05-Dec-12 22:32:39

hehe, I picked a good week to join in with WI.

SlimJimBra Wed 05-Dec-12 23:03:07

You did kid smile
I propose a motion amongst the DoDers that we move DoD to a thurs, does that suit everyone better than a wed? All those in favour say aye...

kid Wed 05-Dec-12 23:10:38

aye from me smile

Huffpot Thu 06-Dec-12 09:10:45

I'm happy to DOD on Thursday.

I can't blame the baby for much yet - its only tiny so any gains still rest firmly with me!

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 06-Dec-12 10:07:07

aye, I will join in next week

have been up since half 4 nearly sick with worrying - about DH driving in this weather and getting to his contract on time, and other stuff - and could have happily sat in the snow and sobbed walking up to school. H has just texted to say he's not required after all and will be coming home. angry doesn't even cover it.

kid Thu 06-Dec-12 10:25:38

So he drove in dangerous conditions for no reason? I'm not surprised you are angry.

Aye!!! Thursday is my official DOD anyway!!

Think I've maintained this week. If I've time after covering the group tonight I'll see for sure!

It's cold here but no snow thank fuck

Ria, why did dh have to drive there to be turned away? That must be soul destroying, does he have no permanent post? Dh was told today their jobs are all at risk during 'relocation of posts' whatever that means. Great.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 06-Dec-12 16:59:39

FHF - DH is having trouble finding a permanent job as he is waiting for more tests, and this contract was advertised as 3 days for the next 3 weekends, and £15 per hour, so even though it was so far away he took it on. Catering is a really crap trade round here, and it's quite usual to be treated like shit (turns out it wasn't the hourly rate he was expecting either - if we'd known that last night he wouldn't have even set off this morning.) I'm not sure why he was turned away, I think they had probably over-ordered in temping staff They sent home 2 others toohmm

IShallCallYouSquishy Thu 06-Dec-12 18:53:12

I hope I can gatecrash? From reading other threads its been suggested this is where all the slimming worlders congregate?

I joined yesterday morning in the bid to lose around 2.5 stone of cake baby weight and need mid week motivation as its usually a few days after I start diets/weigh myself I start to slip.

Thanks all grin

SlimJimBra Thu 06-Dec-12 19:18:48

Hello ishallcallyousquishy and welcome to the DoDers grin We are all sort of following SW on here, there's loads of support and these girls are fantastic smile
We all weigh in on the day of doom and someone coordinates all the weigh ins into the big fat list. We used to do it on a wed night but as you can see there's a move to make it thurs.
Have you done SW before? Or is this all new to you? Are you going to a real group as well? I do but some of the others on here are following it at home, so this is their group.

Totally pooped tonight!! Maintained this week - am ok with that after the headward fall into the cracker box!!

Welcome squishy!! smile

IShallCallYouSquishy Fri 07-Dec-12 07:44:05

SlimJim I'm going to a RL group so I will use whatever my weight there on a Wednesday is as my weigh in weight here too if that's ok? I've done SW a before but it was years ago but looks like the principle is still pretty much the same with EE. My problem is I don't use my syns, for example yesterday I only had 3, Wednesday 4.5 and I know I need to use them. If I have some choccie or anything though I can't stop and no alcohol as I'm breast feeding angry feeling positive though as in fee up of looking like a frumpy blob in clothes that don't fit me. I'm only 29, I want to look nice not mumsy!

Good luck this week everyone thanks

Huffpot Fri 07-Dec-12 09:00:53

Well done FHF especially with the cream cracker encounter.

Welcome squishy (love the nane...every time I read it I finish it off with"and he shall be my squishy")

Could your use your syns in a savoury way like extra cheese or mayonnaise? Options are a good way to have a chocolate hit but without a bar of chocolate?

Am going to Asda later to stock up on super free to help me shovel the right things in. I know its not recommended to lose weight when up the duff but it is possible because I have so much to lose

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 07-Dec-12 09:24:38

Huff, I was thinner and healthier when DS3 was born than at the start of my PG. He is now 5 and I am notblush. So long as you are eating healthily you aren't restricting any food groups.

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 07-Dec-12 09:26:02

and eating mindfully is far better for you than shovelling in crap (do as I say not as I dowink)

IShallCallYouSquishy Fri 07-Dec-12 10:30:17

Huff extra cheese or options sound like a good idea. I can happily shovel cheese in! I know the principle is that I have to use them else on a day/week that I do then my body won't be used to the extra calories. I'm making a meatloaf today so the sausage meat will be some good syns! I'm BLW with my 6.5mth old so as much as SW is for the whole family I'm still having to do 2 versions as don't really want her on low fat. I'm liking that its nice and easy to adapt though. So for lunch we are having pizza toast with ham and pineapple but I'm having nimble and she's having good old Hovis white.

Hehe, someone else who likes Nemo smile my DD got nicknamed Squishy due to it.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Fri 07-Dec-12 13:02:15

IShallCallYouSquishy i have name envy envy

Welcome to the thread and watch the weight fall off.

When I started I didn't use all my syns either, as long as you do use some it should be ok. smile

Just in from a Christmas night out with my lovely sisters! I over indulged slightly......

Superfree and speed foods from tomorrow onwards!

IShallCallYouSquishy Sat 08-Dec-12 18:51:14

Mmmm it's steak night in the Squishy house tonight. There's a nice bit of fillet with my name on it on the side in the kitchen. Jacket spud instead of the usual chips and a roasted pepper stuffed with homemade egg fried rice, feta and sultanas. Who would of thought I could still have my Saturday steak? Oil for steak from my HE B and feta from my A.

I'm finding ways to use my syns though haven't really eaten much today so need to make sure I eat enough.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday.

ladyarwenevenstar Sat 08-Dec-12 23:42:10

sounds nice squishy.

christmas ham, egg and chips here (which is FAB because I have fancied it for a couple of days since someone had it in the novel I was reading) - garage freezer blew last night. Luckily I defrosted the kitchen fridge freezer this morning, and as it had space in (without all the ice!) I decided to do the outside one too, and I'm glad I did. Have been cooking sausages and chicken breasts, and DH said the ham was OK to cook too. Am really glad it didnt go to waste as its the most expensive one I've ever bought. thankfully didn't have to throw away too much.

fecking tree up.

Monday again all!

Have woke with a dose after being at Christmas market in the rain yesterday.
My food has been atrocious all weekend so starting today it needs to be mostly Superfree, even to hope for a maintain this week. Am raging at myself.

Would need to get out of bed and wake the kids too. We were all wrecked last night and we allowed them to stay up to watch Xfactor.

No idea what my food for today is apart from pineapple, melon and cherry tomatoes blush

ladyarwenevenstar Mon 10-Dec-12 09:40:40

morning, sniffly here too.

conquered the ironing mountain yesterday, and we are meant to be cleaning our conservatory and moving the furniture today, but H seems to have idlebastarditis and I really don't feel like doing it by myself when he said he would help...

ChocolatesSnowAngel Mon 10-Dec-12 12:12:59

Afternoon, It's my birthday today so have to say I have eaten really bad things all weekend whilst out and about celebrating. It hasn't stopped yet either, out Tues, Wed, Fri, Mon, Wed then its Christmas....shoot me now! grin

Huffpot Mon 10-Dec-12 16:23:36

Lady did your DH recover from his illness and help?

Choc Happy birthday!!!!!!

I'm in the throes of bloody morning sickness so am def not on plan - I feel bleugh 90% of the time so while trying to be semi good am not suceeding as fruit is not particularly appealing! However did do a good walk of about 3 miles. I think I'll just have to keep up the walking and get the motivation to get out in the cold nights and go to the pool.

Am on a countdown but when thats finished may just do SW at home as £5 is a lot when I AM going to be putting on weight

SlimJimBra Mon 10-Dec-12 16:39:10

Happy Birthday Choc smile
I've had a bad food day too, being stressed and not having any healthy food in the house is not a good combination blush tesco delivery coming this evening so should be back on track after 8pm grin

kid Mon 10-Dec-12 17:25:48

Happy birthday Choc, hope you are having a great day.

I put on a pair of jeans this morning but they were too tight sad
Its my own fault and maybe its what I needed to teach me that stuffing my face will have consequences. So, I am going back to basics. No big fancy meals for me or SW recipes that take forever to make and millions of specialist ingredients. I will literally be doing pasta, rice, potatoes, vegs, meats. No biscuits, chocolates, crisps, wine etc, I am going to be good.
What ever I lose between now and Xmas will give me that little bit of freedom to over indulge for a couple of days.

I really don't want to be buying bigger clothes, I want to fit into my smaller clothes!

ladyarwenevenstar Mon 10-Dec-12 17:53:21

happy birthday choc.

sounds lke me kid. I have managed to stay in the jeans I have since my "comfy" pair wore out, but I am fairly limited to what I can wear. I'll see what the damage is on Thursday...

am geting stressy about christmas now which is silly, but I would have been happier if H still had that contract<sigh>

I am doing an extra shift at work tomorrow - I am covering the office for the afternoon! My stomach is churning with anticipation.

Hi all smile

Am just getting ready for work here, am expecting it to be quiet, have quite a few off on holidays.

Am also loaded with the cold and feel rotten.
Am torn - should I weigh tonight (looking st a 2lb+ gain) or try my best between now and Thursday and take whatever happens by then.

I think I'm back on track today and can do ok til thursday.

Though dh and I are out all day tomorrow and Thursday Christmas shopping, will most likely include lunch...

Dunno what to do now!!!

kid Tue 11-Dec-12 22:48:36

Try your best between now and thurs I say, that's what I would do.
I've been good today, well actually I haven't eaten much at all which probably isn't good.

B-2 weetabix, milk, tea
L- chopped banana, apple, satsuma
2 hifi bars
D- peppers, onion, garlic, chopped tomatoes and pasta.

DH offered me a Chelsea bun cake and a glass of wine, both of which I refused.
Left over dinner for lunch tomorrow so hopefully, I'll stick to plan again.

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 11-Dec-12 22:55:44

I went shopping with DH before work this morning. No food was eaten as I had a crappy anxious night again and nearly threw up brushing my teethsad
spent a ridiculous amount on crappy bits and drawing stuff for the stockings. Just my Dad to buy for <bewildered> and a few random bits for the boys, then something for DH and I if the left-over budget allows, then I'm done and we're I'm onto the tedious business of wrapping. DS1 is so easy to buy for because he's so eccentric, DS2 likes meerkats and lifeboats (not so easy) and DS3 really only likes ponies (so his presents verge on the girly). Stuck for my Dad though...

Am planning ahead for a good week before xmas - jacket spuds baked, and extra mash and sprouts done for bubble and squeak. I might as well give it a go as I have a freezer full of quorn and I could do with the space for xmas! Will have to sort both of us out after xmas as DH and I are both disillusioned weebles!

I survived the afternoon in the office, and have applied for a new job. A small amount of brightness in a day, before bedtime stresses get me.

Is bee coming backto the thread? <waves just in case>

obrigada Wed 12-Dec-12 10:10:43

Morning, been almost 3 weeks since I joined SW online but still haven't managed to get started, can I ask do you all meal plan?

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 12-Dec-12 13:50:38

hi obrigada, I think planning is the way forward. I am a bit hit and miss though (with meal planning generally, so I'll speak from that experience rather than pretending I am currently dedicated toSWblush) so I find it's handy to plan and be prepared for a choice of 3 or 4 meals, and then I can go with what I fancy/can be bothered to make at the time.

kid Wed 12-Dec-12 15:14:33

Planning is definitely the best way to help you stick to plan. Whenever I do plan, I tend to lose at least 2lb that week. Unfortunately, its easier to say I'll plan than it is to actually plan!

Huffpot Wed 12-Dec-12 16:32:15

planning really helps me with SW (works out better financially too!)
I've got bloody all day sickness at moment though and carbs are pretty much the only things that don't make me feel worse!

Back on track when it eases!

Hi all, I had another good day so far, a few syns but I'm allowing a few a day rather than restricting myself!

I tend to not exactly plan, but know what's in the house and what dh we're making oytvofvit.

We had lunch out today, I'd roast beef, baby boils, veg all with no butter and gravy on side. Have to say it didnt compare to dh's Sunday roast. I love that man smile

SlimJimBra Wed 12-Dec-12 17:42:35

Obrigada - I definitely planning is the key, I usually plan a weeks meals with dh and we do the shopping list at the same time so I'm only buying what I need for the meals I've planned. That way there's no 'cheat' food available! Occasionally we'll say sod it and have a takeaway or something but usually if we don't fancy what's on the menu for one reason or another then we just swap it with something planned for later in the week.
Maybe we should all share one favourite recipe on here to get you started? One of my regular easy meals is an oven baked risotto, I'll post the recipe in a bit for you smile

kid Wed 12-Dec-12 18:23:30

I have had another good day today, its becoming a bit of a habit, for now anyway.

One of my favourite dishes which is quick, easy and tasty is fried leeks, onion, garlic and frozen peas. Cook some pasta in vegetable stock. Reserve some of the stock (4 fl oz) and mix that with 4oz of Philadelphia (synned or HEa). Mix all together and season with black pepper. It's nice hot or cold.

SlimJimBra Wed 12-Dec-12 19:33:05

oven baked risotto

200g cherry tomatoes, halved
200g lean bacon, fat removed and cut into pieces (I prefer to use thick cut bacon)
1 onion, chopped
2 corguettes, chopped
300g risotto rice
700ml stock, boiling hot

stick the whole lot in a casserole dish, with the lid on, and cook at 200c for 1 hr

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 12-Dec-12 19:43:49

root veg and a can of chick peas, roasted with a little harissa paste, served wih rice/cous cous is one of my current favourites.
If you have the last magazine, the spicy bean burgers are nice.

Do you red/green or EE obrigada?

SlimJimBra Wed 12-Dec-12 19:43:55

ps are we DoDing tomorrow instead of tonight? I'm happy to smile

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 12-Dec-12 20:00:09

some recipe/motivational blogs -

and here

here is our very own shiny DoD recipe thread

and HERE is our very own bees' motivational first post on last years pre-xmas thread -

"grinningbee Mon 19-Dec-11 09:12:50
So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall . So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 12-Dec-12 20:01:21

tomorow I think slim. thanks for that recipe,I've always fancied trying baked risotto.

kid Wed 12-Dec-12 20:41:38

I've never been able to find risotto rice in the supermarkets. I bet I'm just being blind!

SlimJimBra Wed 12-Dec-12 20:52:23

its called arborio rice kid

kid Wed 12-Dec-12 21:58:06

Thanks, I'll have a look next time I go. I knew it must be there somewhere!

SlimJimBra Thu 13-Dec-12 06:36:15

Ive always found it with the normal rice too btw. Now pudding rice is another matter - I can never find that!
Who's doing the list today? I don't mind doing it if you like, or if anyone else has a burning desire to do it speak up grin

kid Thu 13-Dec-12 06:56:21

I can always get pudding rice, infact I have some in the cupboard.
I've wi already this morning. I will say that i deserved a gain after the weekend I had.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Thu 13-Dec-12 16:41:18

Ah Ria that was lovely from Bee, it would be great to see her back on the boards.

I don't think I should confess to all the delicious food that i have been gorging on as to see it in writing may have me curled up and rocking in the corner for some time! grin

Thanks for all your birthday wishes and good luck everyone for the DOD!!!

ps.Obrigada, use the SW online diary it really does keep you in line <clearly not me at the moment, but when i started out it was fantastic>

kid Thu 13-Dec-12 19:22:08

I don't know if my meal plans are ok or if I should be eating more, what do you think of today's food? I don't feel starving during the day but I find I really enjoy my dinner as i don't feel like I've had a proper lunch. I'm not passing out or anything which has to be a good sign!

Red day
2 weetabix (b), milk (a), coffee
Chopped apple, banana, 2 satsumas, hifi bar (3syns)
Sweet chilli chicken, salad, small jacket potato (b), coleslaw (?syns)
Muller light yoghurt, hifi bar (3syns)
Water, diet Pepsi

I don't really have time for a proper lunch as I only have 15 minutes break to eat. It's not always like that but that's how it is for now.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 13-Dec-12 21:48:01

who is list monitor?

SlimJimBra Thu 13-Dec-12 22:07:31

Pm me, I'll do it smile can wait to post first thing to give you time to pm me if that suits

SlimJimBra Thu 13-Dec-12 22:12:01

Kid that doesn't look like all that much to me, a normal work day for me is frequently:
Cereal and milk he A and B banana
Banana and hifi light
Salad, ham, yogurt, orange
Apple, hifi light
Dinner (usually free eg risotto or veg pasta with chicken or omelettes)
Couple of chocs or a small wine or some other treat if I'm not saving syns for later in the week

SlimJimBra Thu 13-Dec-12 22:13:41

I can't believe you go all day without snacks/ breaks. I am a little and often eater!

kid Thu 13-Dec-12 22:28:45

I should eat little and often as I have low blood pressure which has often resulted in me passing out. But, work needs cover, no-one else is available, blah, blah, blah.
I'm not overjoyed with the situation but its not forever. Frustrating thing is, it's not even appreciated so makes me wonder why I am even bothering.

I've got a proper lunch tomorrow made by my lovely dd (veg curry) and we usually have a takeaway on Friday night so I can have a night off cooking. Sometimes if I'm feeling really lazy, it ends up being a couple of takeaways in one week but I've been very good with cooking this week. I need to stick to sw over the weekend as I want the best possible weight loss that I can. I don't see the point of playing around with the same few pounds every other week.

SlimJimBra Thu 13-Dec-12 22:37:45

Ria and kid - got your pms. Will wait til Early tomorrow am in case anyone else wants to pm me their DoD <whip crack>

SlimJimBra Fri 14-Dec-12 07:14:48

Ok will do list at 9 this morning when I get to work so there's still time to WI and pm me. C'mon you know you want to... grin

Well done peeps, its star week so I'm eating biscuits!
My lunch break at work went out the window today, I didn't get one. I am now exhausted and being looked after by my lovely DD.

I gained 1lb!

My llovely aunt died on Wednesday, so it's been quite busy here.

My tooth broke yesterday and have been to emergency dentist today, hate it.

Well done on list all x

SlimJimBra Sat 15-Dec-12 21:10:46

sad FHF sorry to hear about your aunt.

Aw thanks everyone, she hadn't been in the best of health lately, then had a number of strokes on Wednesday. Such a shame for her family, but she's at rest now.

My weekend wasn't great, but wasn't overly bad either. Am crap at planning these days!!

My tooth has ached since it was filled on Friday!! And have more to get done in Wednesday <sob>

How's everyone (and their bumps) doing??

SlimJimBra Wed 19-Dec-12 15:53:36

Hello ladies, how are we all? Resisting the Christmas temptations?

I gained last night and am probably going to go outside my target this week so I'm following Choc's five point plan from this morning til Xmas eve (except fri evening meal when we're out and Xmas eve evening meal) and hope for some divine intervention at WI on thurs after Xmas. I was going to skip WI after Xmas and WI after new year but as I don't have scales at home I think it would be wise if I knew what the Xmas damage was as soon as possible.

What strategies are you guys implementing for Xmas dieting? Any tips?

Yep, I'm the same! I always attend the weigh in between Christmas and NY cos it helps me not go too OTT!

My weigh-in is tomorrow night and I hope for either a small loss or a maintain.

Have been crippled with pain recently and have had so many dental trips, another one today where I got 3 more fillings. Only good thing is that I haven't been able to eat solids - and the tooth she filled is annoying me now, it's got an edge on it.

My plan for over Christmas is to be right on plan up til Christmas day and boxing day but I have weigh in on Thursday so I'll just try not to have a total blow out. I'm not going to eat sweets or nuts anyway as i'm, afraid of losing these fillings again!!

How's everyone else doing?

SlimJimBra Wed 19-Dec-12 22:05:47

Our group is tues night so WI has been moved to thurs for Xmas and NY - trying to decide if having an extra two days between WIs will halo or hinder, extra days to gain or extra days to lose... Can you tell I'm getting anxious about going over target over Xmas confused

SlimJimBra Wed 19-Dec-12 22:06:55

Halo = help. The only halos this week will be on the angels on the tree grin

kid Wed 19-Dec-12 22:30:02

I'm not doing too well. I am managing okay for breakfast and lunch (when I bother to eat it) but dinner is a bit hit and miss.

I plan to over indulge for xmas day and boxing day but then plan to get back on track. DH wants us both to do some sort of diet in the new year. He is trying to make it sound like he is helping me but he is just being a nuisance as he doesn't think SW works. He calls it one of my 'stupid diets!'
I am going to try and convince him to give it a go for a week and then see how much weight he has lost. For that week, I am going to have to pull out some impressive meals as he won't stick with it otherwise.

It will probably be good to have him doing it too as it will be easier to stick to and harder to cheat, but, I can see it being harder work if I have to plan meals that he will like too.

Huffpot Thu 20-Dec-12 10:11:29

Hi all.
Didnt get to WI last night as my 3 year old wasnt well and screamed from 6.30pm to about 1am and all of 4 us ended up sleeping in our bed...daddy and the 2 year up the top and myself and the 3 year old at the end of the bed for about 5 hours sleep.
He was complaining about his ears so am off to the doctor today to get him checked.

I was cross as had a sneaky peek at the scales and had lost weight sigh

I think the morning sickness and vomitting was a contributing factor

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 20-Dec-12 16:06:18

little tigger-like-bounce a la bee smile

How's all going?

I'm just off to weigh in now!!!! Have made a sw lasagne for tasting!

SlimJimBra Thu 20-Dec-12 21:00:56

who's listing tonight?? Shall I do it again?

SlimJimBra Thu 20-Dec-12 22:19:24

I've only one pm - who else is weighing in today? Or will it just be FHF and me on the list?

kid Thu 20-Dec-12 22:28:16

i missed it today, was a bit of a mad rush with it being last day at school/work. I've missed dinner tonight (had 2 cookies instead) and a glass of wine. Its not looking good for me!
I am going to start exercising soon, thats a fact grin

SlimJimBra Fri 21-Dec-12 08:33:36

Last call for DoD smile

SlimJimBra Fri 21-Dec-12 09:06:33

The Big Fat List

FHF has lost 2lb grin
Huff has lost 1lb grin
Slim has gained 1.5lb sad

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 21-Dec-12 23:24:54

dammit, sorry. SO tired last night after an extra shift covering the office at work... ended up asleep early, then awake at 12 with a stinking cold.

anyhow, the Wii said 2lb loss for me, so <yippee>, long may this magic continue!

is that you at target FHF?

SlimJimBra Sat 22-Dec-12 16:19:45

Woo hoo grin well done ria smile

Hey, I'm 1lb over target but am within target range.

Won't be after this week though, started on the wrong foot yesterday and it's went slowly downhill from there.

How's everyone else?

ladyarwenevenstar Sun 23-Dec-12 01:26:04

yay FHF that would be near enough for me!

Am beyond knackered tonight,so much so that I can't face bed yet (plus no supper and only 1 glass of wine and 1 cidershock). Been out all day - farmers market, last of prezzie shopping (plus a bonus clothes shop for DH and I with the last 2 years voucher from my mum!), visit to ILs, supermarket shop... <sigh> ALL presents wrapped and ready which is so unusual for me - I might get some sleep on xmas eve this year!!! (I have not bough the SW mag for under my tree, as I dont want thin-and-bitchy guests to see me open it. Will buy for my "surviving xmas" treat next Tesco shopwink)

of couse, I have still got baking, cleaning/tidying, and laundry to do, and DH has the food to sort (DM is getting edgey cos she's not in charge this year!), and we are probably out tomorrow, and DH has a temping shift on xmas eve (never turn down work here!)

survived the ILs, though FIL was moaning about having won £5k on the lottery! He was more concerned that if he'd had another number it would have been considerably more. I would have been more than thankful for £500, let alone any more. People huh?!

hope all is well with you guyssmile.

Huffpot Mon 24-Dec-12 21:32:11

Merry Christmas all

SlimJimBra Mon 24-Dec-12 22:19:05

Merry Christmas Huff and everyone else smile

ChocolatesSnowAngel Tue 25-Dec-12 10:20:14

Merry Christmas Doomers, have a wonderful day smile

Hope one and all had a fab Christmas!!!

I'm waiting my mum and dad (strained relationship) for boxing day dinner. Asked here out of a sense of duty.

I will drink til it's ok.

Oh one more question, "what's slimming world?"

SlimJimBra Wed 26-Dec-12 14:09:03

LOL FHF grin it's been a bit like that here too! Though I have made a Mexican version of the chickpea dhal loaf to take to a bring and share this evening so there will be at least one free food there for me ( and salad)

Huffpot Thu 27-Dec-12 12:36:07

A mexican version sounds good.

I have all the stuff to make the basic stuff.
Just waiting till my stomach settles enough for normal food.

I forgot how awful the nausea can be in pregnancy not to mention the chucking.

Still weighed in today and was pleasantly shocked shock

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 27-Dec-12 15:36:47

hi all. a belated merry christmas to you all. hope you have all had a lovely time.

DH triumphed with the traditional lunch on the 25th (it pays to get a professional in wink), then I cooked (!) yesterday evening - Nigella's slow roast pork and gratin potatoes, and pavlova.

sadly, 3 of our guests have really hideous manners (and 1 arrived for lunch pissed), and my parents have stinking colds and are worried about uncle (who is not doing well now he is home), so it wasn't as good a christmas as it could have been, but the boys have had a great time and all presents well received.

I failed to WI this morning as I was back to bed with ibuprofen for my sore back.

am now home alone for a week or so with the boys as DH got offered a weeks work away this morningsad, there is so much food left, but we'll managewink. I may crack open the new SW mag with a glass of wine this eveningwink DH is rivalling santa in the fatso stakes, so we should be back with a vengeance when he gets home (after a cosy takeaway or two the first couple of days that is).

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 27-Dec-12 15:38:17

can you post that recipe please slim when you have timesmile

SlimJimBra Thu 27-Dec-12 18:14:32

The Mexican version is using Mexican savoury rice instead of curry flavour and using kidney beans (or mixed beans) in tomato sauce instead of the chickpea dhal. Oh, and substitute any curry powder you add with chilli powder. Otherwise it's the same recipe.
Off to WI now, will report in later. Are we doing a list tonight? Seeing as at least a couple of us will have WI i think we should.

kid Fri 28-Dec-12 10:15:19

its friday today isn't it! there was ne convinced it was Thursday grin
well, no need for me to be added to any list, I've sts. I'm not disappointed as I stuffed my face for two days. I then felt really ill for 2 days and hardly ate anything. I think I'm back to feeling normal today, time will tell.

hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to the New year. I wonder what most of our resolutions will be?

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 28-Dec-12 10:46:31

morning, I'm shattered today - both boys in with me all night and DS3 couging like a sea lion! DH hasn't done much working away where he's lived-in while DS3 has been around, so DS3 is finding it hard (I think he is worried he's left us) sad

I know other DH's are away all the time, for a lot longer too, so I need to get a grip (!) it's just a long time since we've done this (and he was gone within an hour of the phonecall yeserday)

wish we could get out of the house, but it's so grey, damp and miserable.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Sat 29-Dec-12 15:32:26

Afternoon ladies hope you all had a fabulous Christmas smile

taking the first step to getting back on track...have bought batteries for the scales. ok they are still in the packet, but hey it's a step in the right direction!

there is still too much pate with cranberries and chocolate and mince pies and Baileys to even contemplate sticking to the plan, however, I shall weigh myself on Thursday AND I shall share the result with you's gonna be really bad isn't it! sad

then that may shock me into sticking to it which I hope to do for 2 weeks before showing my -- shamed-- face at class again grin

ChocolatesSnowAngel Sat 29-Dec-12 15:33:05

strike out fail sad

SlimJimBra Sat 29-Dec-12 16:44:58

Ria - I find it harder when DH is away for a few days/ a week as there is no routine. When he's away for months I can get into my own routine, when it's only days I tend to 'hold the fort' until he's back.
I was super good before Xmas, enjoyed Xmas day then back on plan boxing day...and lost 1.5lb grin It's all gone to pot today though as we're at my parents for second Xmas and I've eaten approximately 300 chocolates!

ladyarwenevenstar Sun 30-Dec-12 10:07:57

I think I would be coping better if we'd planned ahead, if the kids were at school, and if I knew when he was likely to be back, and if I knew if he was going backhmm, I think the longest he's been away with work without coming back was about 5 weeks, when DS2 was a baby. I will think of the money! He should be home on Wednesday, and conveniently there's a new Midsomer Murders on, so we will be able to enjoy that together, maybe with a sneaky bottle or two and an even sneakier takeaway!

Have had a look at the calendar, and if I WI on Thursday for the list, and have a carefully planned week with minimals syns, then celebrating DS2's birthday shouldn't do too much damage (especially if I can convince him to have chinese instead of pizza takeaway), it's just a shame it's the day before the next WI.

Hi all, I did WI and it wasn't pretty - but I'm back on plan now, going ok and trying not to go near the scales as it doesn't seem to be moving as quickly as I'd expected it to.

Today I have to leaflet drop for my group - its promotion time once again! Yesterday I postered the village my group is in. I hate postering sad

Trying to think of the body magic, but it's wet and windy and I have to take the kids with me.

Dh and I are barely speaking, and it's making us both miserable.

ladyarwenevenstar Sun 30-Dec-12 22:03:00

sad FHF have a hug x

our consultant was leafleting our village today when we went to buy wine for a healthy walk. she hasn't made it to our house yet (but thats good cos I don't like her and am faithful only to our own FHF)

poor DS3 is coughing worse than ever tonigh but no point going to docs as its not on his chest. thankfully.

kid Sun 30-Dec-12 22:48:53

When DD had a rotten cough, I tried the vicks on the feet trick to see if it worked. I don't think it made any difference but figured there was no harm in trying.
My Dr recommends getting DC to drink warm dilute fruit juice for a cough. It seems to help and they enjoy it so a win win situation. Coughs are nasty, take ages to go away.

ladyarwenevenstar Sun 30-Dec-12 23:47:55

will try the warm fruit juice - did hot honey and lemon tonight and he wasn't impressed. I have been doing home-made bath salts with wintergreen, lavender, rosemary and camphor oils (can you tell I always wanted to be an aromatherapist?), which is fab for congestion (I mixed some for my dad and he sniffed the tub and ended up cured before he even got round to a bath!)

DH is home, looks knackered, but he is eating the croque monsieur quite happily unusual for DH and my cooking), and he apparenty the local place he was meant to be working tomorrow have no bookings, so he was probably right to take the risk and go away, and we will get to enjoy new year together for a change.

no sign of DS3 settling down <sigh>

Huffpot Mon 31-Dec-12 16:34:07

Happy new year everyone

I hate it when children are sick

I have an awful cold for weeks now plus conjunctivitis so am not particularly joyful since I can't take any drugs confused

kid Tue 01-Jan-13 17:33:36

Hows everyone doing? All ready to face the new year, new diet?

I have just planned 7 days of breakfasts, lunches and dinners for DH and I. It was a bit tricky to work around his 6am starts and lunches on the go but I think it will work okay.

I just need to actually go shopping now so I have everything we need. I don't know if I'm looking forward to the week ahead or if it will all go pear shaped by the weekend. DH said he'd help me plan the meals, but all he has done so far is huff and puff whenever I interupt the stupid football game thats on tv. Oh well, he will just have to eat whats put in front of him!

ChocolatesSnowAngel Wed 02-Jan-13 07:09:48

Happy New Year everyone, hope you all ok, a special hand squeeze for those that need one.

Have to say 2012 was such a mixed bag of death, worry with a bit of fabulousness thrown in. Hope 2013 is much better smile

Hedgepig Wed 02-Jan-13 14:22:43

Happy New Year peeps grin I hope you all had a lovely time.

SlimJimBra Wed 02-Jan-13 20:20:34

Happy new year ladies smile I have serious lurgy going on, throat and ear infection sad all I have eaten in the past few days has been honey on toast and extra strong hot ribena. Can't imagine it's done the diet any good sad

Day one done and dusted?

How's everyone surviving?

Hedgepig Wed 02-Jan-13 23:32:20

Not brill FairHair, I have a crappy cold (which i have had all over Christmas) and didn't eat proper tea just biscuits ! ho hum tomorrow is another day

kid Wed 02-Jan-13 23:34:42

I did perfectly today, just need another 6 days like it so I can have a decent weigh in on Wednesday.

Hope the cold goes soon hedge, its no fun being ill and the last thing you want to be doing is lots of planning, preparing and cooking.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 03-Jan-13 10:55:35

morning all. WI done. just hope I stay awake long enough to make the list.

going to the panto later, but my parents may not be ableto come as planned as things don't sound good with my uncle.sad

grinningbee Thu 03-Jan-13 14:58:34

Hello again chaps!

Me and my lardy arse are back. Still have this stupid lurgy cold thing that I've had since just before Xmas that everyone else seems to have too.

Hope you're all ok, and Happy New Year!

Who do I have to report to for the jolly old list today? It isn't pretty...

Oh Ria, that doesn't sound good about your uncle, thinking of you.

I'm going to brave the scales tonight, even though I'm taking my own class and I don't usually weigh in when I'm taking a class incase it effects me lol ie: if I have a gain and am jealous of members who loss (would never happen, but you never know!!!)

Anyway it'll be after 9pm before I get in , who do I pm?

Hiya bee smile

Lovely to have you back smile

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 03-Jan-13 18:20:44

you're only human FHF, I'm sure they would understand if you did show anything.

I can do the list if you like, if no-one else wants to of course

LOVELY to have you back bee Yaygrin

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 03-Jan-13 18:22:00

panto was dire. Mum came, Dad stayed at home with uncle (his children/granddaughter too busy, and his "partner" had been with him all morning and needed to go to bed FFS)

more ranting later x

grinningbee Thu 03-Jan-13 18:25:36

Hee hee, thank you. While you're about can you PM me your address please Lady? I shall have something to send you in the next week or so grin

I shall also send you my starting stats in a sec smile

grinningbee Thu 03-Jan-13 18:27:38

Boo (arf) to the Panto being pants. It's rotten when you've looked forward to something.

Rant away - it'll make you feel better smile

Hedgepig Thu 03-Jan-13 20:02:50

Beeeeee great to see you old bean grin.

grinningbee Thu 03-Jan-13 20:18:40

blush Awwww thanks. I'm back properly for good now <puts foot firmly down> Nice to see familiar bods still here. Have we misplaced any other regulars?

There seems to have been so much going on for everyone just lately.

Hedgepig Thu 03-Jan-13 20:20:47

I'm going to stand on the scales and see how much I am over target, wish me luck.

Huffpot Thu 03-Jan-13 20:35:10

Bee Hooray!

Didn't get to WI last night and didn't think to jump on my own this morning

Got 3 hours of body magic in today but then had pizza and icecream with the children sigh

ChocolatesSnowAngel Thu 03-Jan-13 21:14:48

Beeeeee you're back! (huge hug)

who is doing the list? I shall go and break my scales weigh myself and report back smile

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 03-Jan-13 21:20:51

very nervous at doing the list and getting it right!

TBH, I wasn't looking forward to the panto that much (the whole cast-members-jumping-out-of-the-audience and chance of being singled out fills me with dread), but we won the tickets in a raffle. I thought the boys would enjoy it as something we never do, and mum loves them. Quite funny though - scary/bossy/irriating ex-policeman guy from my TA course was the Dame! <snort>, and it wasn't bad it was just a bit weak in places. Mum (the seasoned panto peformer from the '50s when she was a child - they were made to take part in one with school, but mum did a few years, "touring" local village halls etc) said they should have warmed up the audience with a song in the first few minutes! (am dead impressed - she can still rememeber her lines!)

sorry I digress.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Thu 03-Jan-13 21:24:01

Ria have sent you PM.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 03-Jan-13 21:40:13

thanks for PMs, Ihave 4. Any more?

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 03-Jan-13 23:22:52

last call...

I can't figure out how to pm u on my iPod!!

I lost 2lb. Total 3st 7lb. 7 lb to go before I'm happy.

Must read thread now!!!

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 03-Jan-13 23:37:26

<drum roll>
Ladies, are you ready for the first Day of Doom roll-call of 2013?

This week we have three long-term DoD-ers returning to the fold, and their current/re-start stats are:

Grinningbee 5ft 3, re-starting weight 15st 12.5lb
Hedgepig has a start weight of 12st 0lb
ChocolatesSnowAngel has weighed-in for the first time since 28 November, and has gained 4lb in this time. Total loss is now 1 stone 4.5lb

FairhairedandFrustrated has lost 2lb. Total loss to date 3st 7lb. 7 lb to go...
ladyarwenRia has weighed in today after a 2 week christmas break and has a 1lb loss (and is restarting today from an undisclosed weight, but hopes to remain a steady 5ft 10)

kid has gained 1lb this week

So, lets have a big warm DOD welcome for the returners and restarters, a big Well Done to everyone who Faced The Fear and Weighed In Anyway, congratulations to the losers, and a big round of encouragement-applause to keep all losers, gainers, STS-ers and restarters on the right path til next week's WI.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 03-Jan-13 23:41:05

<presents the basket of satsumas to FHF> yay you!

Ooh I love satsumas smile

I'll share them out, as technically as I had a gain last week I can't be slimmer of the week wink

Here's to a good weekend for us all smile

Would it help if we planned and listed our food diaries again?

ChocolatesSnowAngel Fri 04-Jan-13 10:55:21

I weighed myself yesterday morning and weighed 12.5, weighed myself last night and it was 12.8, this morning it's 12.3.

So I gained 3lbs in the course of the day yesterday then lost 5lbs whilst sleeping! think I'll stay asleep forever!!!!

congratulations losers, tough to do over Christmas, you deserve a medal!!

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 04-Jan-13 12:19:19

gah, it's all so complicated FHF!

I could go for staying asleep - surely couldn't gain then?

as ever, at the beginning of a "new start" I am having a melancholia day, not helped by yet another 2 week plus * week (sorry if TMI). Will have to check if it's this year my implant comes out!

SlimJimBra Fri 04-Jan-13 12:33:24

Well done doomers smile and helloooo bee
I suspect I have gained this week but missed WI last night as DH and I had a night away last night before he disappears for most o the next 6 months (DS stayed with PiL wink) so not only have I missed WI but I have also eaten lots of yummy food and drunk lots of yummy booze!

Hedgepig Sat 05-Jan-13 09:59:22

Well done on the night away SlimJim if you can't have a yummy boozy time when your DH is going away for so long hmm, when can you?

Just steeling myself to take DS1 to football, at least it's not cold today

Food intake is going not too bad no biscuits since weds (I'm having a week of just trying richest well but no snacks before full on SW next week). I've given up drink for January which should help too

fakeblondie Sat 05-Jan-13 11:05:49

Hi, please can I join ! I've gained 6 lbs since SW last year . I,m 5 ft 3 and weighed in on Thurs at 10 st 7 . I'd like to lose 9 lbs in 2 months and find dieting really difficult with 4 dc and a job. Am useless at organising my diet basically !

ladyarwenevenstar Sat 05-Jan-13 13:41:52

welcome to the thread blondie smile

organisation is the key, it's just easier said than donewink

kid Sat 05-Jan-13 17:06:42

I've stuck to plan again today and am just about to start dinner which is steak. Jacket potato and salad.
I've been busy doing tons of ironing today, sorted out my bedroom while DS has been on his Xbox most of the day. I can't stand listening to him on the Xbox, he does nothing but whinge and shout. He isn't even dressed yet and has only just had lunch. Can't wait for him to be back at school, there is no way he will spending as much time on the Xbox then!

Sound like a good day kid!

I went shopping with my sisters today.

B: porridge (heB) and skimmed milk (heA) with chopped banana
L: baked potato and beans and a mandarin orange
D: home made burgers, wedges and salad

Snacked on fruit throughout day and had 2 chewy sweets.
Also had a pack pd special k biscuit moments (5syns per pack of 2)

Pleased with today!

Drinks included water, coffee and Pepsi max.

kid Sun 06-Jan-13 01:15:45

I'm feeling a bit sorry for DH tonight. He was watching tv in bed and his belly kept rumbling! He hasn't said he is hungry but I'm guessing he is.
I suppose its time to increase his portions of food, equally. As long as a third is still super free I assume its still ok. Don't want him getting hungry and cheating.

Ah did his tummy stop in the end?

I've had a hungry evening!!

Today's food was brunch: bacon, poached egg, tomato, beans and wholemeal bread (heB plus 3 syns) with flora light (2 syns)

Dinner was chicken, sw roasties, cauli, broc, onions and mushrooms followed by melon and pineapple with Greek muller light. (half syn)

Snacked Melon and grapes this evening and about 3 cups of coffee.

Just had a selection box curlywurly for 3.5 syns.

So total days syns are 9 and have had lots of Superfree.

How'd you all get on?

kid Mon 07-Jan-13 00:18:15

We did okay today. I gave DH an extra slice of hobbit bread for 2.5 syns, poached egg and beans for breakfast.
Lunch was roast peppers, onions, mushrooms and courgette mixed with couscous and 30g (ish)of feta cheese
Dinner was roast chicken, roast potatoes, loads of mixed veg. No oil, just fry light
He has also had some muller lights in between. We also had a go ahead slice thing, 3.5 syns per slice so 7 syns each of us for those.
I feel slimmer, don't know if I look any different, probably not. I have weighed myself in the evening and the scales are showing 1lb loss. I hope the morning wi will be a lot kinder.

We went for a 2 hour bike ride today, it was so lovely but really hard work.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Mon 07-Jan-13 13:38:31

Welcome Fakeblondie 9lbs in 2 months will just fly off, are you using the on line thread to see where if at all you are going wrong?

Also the Extra Easy plan I personally find is better than the Green/Red day plan.

B - boiled egg ff yogurt (forgot to pick up my fruit)
L - pitta with ham cucumber, peppers, spring onion and 1 tablespoon of 70% ff salad cream
D- will be jacket potato with cheese allowance, ff sausages and mangetout

I will be honest and say now that i will be finishing off the Baileys tonight, think there is only one glass left in the bottle, then that is it, all the nice and naughty foods are finished with and i will be completely back on track :-)

Hi choc smile

Another good day here for me too.

B: banana, satsuma, water
L: speed curry (beef) boiled rice, melon & pineapple with a muller light.
D: gammon, sw chips, beans, fried egg
HeB: 2 Hifi lights.
Dash of milk 1 syn

Choc, do you know in the recent shake up of the plan, the pitta is no longer a heB choice? Just incase you didn't xx

fakeblondie Mon 07-Jan-13 22:35:05

thank you x
I've stuck to it I think since Thurs but after trying to follow extra easy for weeks and not succeeding I'm back to green days. With ee I always forget that one third needs to be super free and jus end up scoffing everything !
My bad habit is wine and I have a couple of glasses most nights ( minus 2 when I,m on call ! ) but a don't indulge in any other syns.
today I had
B Porridge with water ( he b )
L homemade soup and brown bread ( HEb )
D Homemade lean steak mince chilli and rice , fresh fruit salad .
Snacks apple and banana .
3 ( horrid day a work ) glasses of wine
Red bush and water to drink
Am so determined to do this am even contemplating exerise !

kid Mon 07-Jan-13 23:26:58

Another decent day here. I've had 2 weetabix (heb)
4 hobbit bread (2.5 syns each = 10 syns), ham and salad, muller light.
Dinner was chicken cooked with cabbage, ginger, garlic and spring onion in soy sauce with eggs cut into noodles. Followed by 2 satsumas and another muller light.
1 cookie 3 syns?

I know the bread is a lot of syns, but figure as its still within syn allowance and makes lunch so much easier, I can live with that for now on work days.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Mon 07-Jan-13 23:40:12

Hi FHF, nooooooo re the pitta, I have two packets to get through!

when did they become no no's?

Oh my word what can I have instead. Did they replace them with another option? a wrap would be nice, can I cheat for a bit? pretend I don't know...

I have had a pitta each day for months, I wonder why they have decided that they are no good hmmmm

Has anything else changed?? <panic>

ChocolatesSnowAngel Tue 08-Jan-13 07:23:10

What is hobbit bread? can you only have it if you live in middle earth and have knowledge of a certain ring?

SlimJimBra Tue 08-Jan-13 07:53:46

Hi ladies smile

Well done on all the healthy eating partners, Nice to see some proper planned days, mine have been anything but recently.

I have not been eating sensibly and haven't been to WI for 2 weeks. Tonight's my "face the music" night [wibble] DH and I have spent every waking moment since getting back from our night away clearing the house getting it ready to put on the market. I'm hoping the crazy sorting/binning/lugging up to the loft will count for some body magic at least!

Starting again in earnest after tonight's WI, I fully expect the damage to take me out of target range sad

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 08-Jan-13 10:35:59

pretend you don't know chocwink

DS2s birthday here. Shepherds pie made with real shepherds, and a EE lean beef cottage pie made for me, with added red and green lentils to bulk it out, and leek mash. Just cleaning now ready for the "party" tonight.

my parents are spending most of the day at the hospice as my uncle has gone in for a blood transfusion. He is not doing well at home, and it is breaking my heart seeing my parents looking so ill with worrysad

Hope all is going well for everyone, much love x

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 08-Jan-13 10:39:53

oh, and I don't want to go back to work! It will be nice to see most -of-- the kids, but there are plenty of colleagues I woule be relieved not to seewink

It's just because there's not enough fibre in it to count as a b choice.

If its not damaging you loss then I'd keep at it!!

My sister is having her surgery today. My tummy is sore.

Dh and I have tickets for a concert tonight and I feel so guilty going, but realistically I wouldn't see sis til tomorrow anyway & she says she'd be annoyed if I didn't go.

Happy birthday Ria's ds!! Enjoy your dinner xx

Blonde, is it a green day you were having? If you had 2 hebs already you'd need to count syns for the lean meat?

Apologies if I've misread that, im on iPod and can't scroll up again x

kid Tue 08-Jan-13 15:26:35

I'm making fish pie tonight. it could go horribly wrong but I'll try most things once. my first 7 days are up tonight so I'll need to plan for my next 7 days. its been fine. will see what the scales think in the morning though.

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 08-Jan-13 17:46:43

<hugs> FHF, thinking of you, try and have a good night out. x

eeeww kid.I HATE fish pie. Hope it's nice. good luck for WI, it should be fab, you've had a great week of menus.

Can't smell lamb yet thankfully!

kid Tue 08-Jan-13 19:45:09

the fish pie wasn't that bad, it wasn't one of my favourite meals but it was ok.

I don't feel like I've lost any weight. if I haven't, I'm going to have a massive tantrum!

Hedgepig Tue 08-Jan-13 21:52:56

I love fish pie yumm but I do like a shed load of butter in the mash on top.

I'm hoping you have lost weight Kid you have been positively saintly this week.

I have had a better day today I totally failed last night when I got home from work I just went on a total carb fest hmm. I think I had just got too hungry during the day. Today I took a chopped carrot and grapes and apples which I snacked on for most of the day .

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 08-Jan-13 22:30:20

I remember when I first joined SW I painstakingly made SW fish and chips. It was GRIM and the house stank (I can actually still imagine the taste and texture). I think I just don't like fish!

I think my week this week is what DS1 would call an "epic fail"blush

kid Tue 08-Jan-13 22:34:56

Where did the evening go? sad I have so much to do and planned to be in bed by 11 each night. I don't think thats going to happen tonight as I have washing up to do, lunches to make, washing to hang up, plan meals for the next 7 days and wash my hair.

Arghh, I planned on being organised but it went a bit wrong tonight. Right, best prioritise I guess.
Hair first as that can dry while I get on with some of the other jobs on that list.
I must remember not to leave everything until the last minute in future.

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 08-Jan-13 22:35:43

I have tried on a couple of days to have breakfast/brunch and then missed lunch because I was full, then end up shovelling crap starving by teatime. plus there have been a couple of lazy days where we've slept in and I haven't bothered with breakfast.ALL my own fault, and changes I can address next week, and hopefully the back-to-school routine will help me focus more.

kid Wed 09-Jan-13 00:08:41

Well, I had a sneaky peek at the scales just now which was silly as nothing I can do either way now. I'm not that impressed tbh. I won't have a full on tantrum, maybe just a little sulk.

fakeblondie Wed 09-Jan-13 08:58:25

Fairness your right thanks. Am so used to extra easy I keep thinking I can have everything and in fact did same yest ! Making tomato soup today but eating out tonight so hoping they do baked pot or at least steak with maybe a salad x

ChocolatesSnowAngel Wed 09-Jan-13 12:33:31

FHF hope the surgery went ok and that you are ok too ((hug))

Putting head in sand re the pitta, it has worked for me so keeping it.

was not organised today at all ended up having a ww tomato soup for breakfast as nothing in!

L - same as everyday really pitta ham salad, but today i added a couple of slices of bacon hmmmm
D- not sure yet - will have to shop.

Had a tantrum of my own last night when i discovered MIL had given DD my ff sausages for her dinner, they are MINE no-one elses and when DD said she didnt like them mil made her eat them!!! they are lovely but i dont expect a child (well mine anyway) would like them. MIL is lovely too, i am just ranting.

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 09-Jan-13 13:41:18

just popping in to say I may not be around for a while. My family are all at the hospice with my uncle, so I am waiting for "the call"sad

I'll be back tho x

Hedgepig Wed 09-Jan-13 13:59:30

Ria my sweet I'm sorry to hear your sad news, ((big hugs)). I hope things can go as well as they can under the circumstances. Xxx

kid Wed 09-Jan-13 17:04:19

Sorry to hear that lady, bet your heart goes every time the phone rings. Hoping your uncle is comfortable and that you all get the support you need x

Hedgepig Wed 09-Jan-13 19:39:48

Is it doom day? I'll do the list in nobody else wants to (not wanting to tread on anyone's toes).

DH is cooking a SW fry up nom nom

kid Wed 09-Jan-13 20:20:04

I've weighed in for the week but thought we had changed DoD to Thursdays.
I'm happy for you to do to list smile

Hedgepig Wed 09-Jan-13 20:29:57

I just checked back Kid and we weighed in on the 3rd which was indeed a Thursday. I best stop scoffing biscuits then grin

ChocolatesSnowAngel Thu 10-Jan-13 09:15:42

Ria hope you ok, have a little hand squeeze from me.

DOD is Thursday's now see up thread somewhere.

Hedge I shall PM you my results asap.

Good luck doomers smile

Huffpot Thu 10-Jan-13 09:48:30

Lady and FHF am thinking of you both sad

I weighed in last night blush Am 12 weeks Monday coming so hoping the nausea eases down so I can start eating properly and stop eating the wrong things. The thought of fruit and veg has been making me confused but have managed a few pieces yesterday so fingers crossed.

fakeblondie Thu 10-Jan-13 10:32:59

Well i`ve lost 1 lb-8 to go !

Hedgepig Thu 10-Jan-13 12:26:11

Huffpot I didn't know you were with child (the thread title is making sense now) are you trying to maintain your weight throughout the pg?

Hedgepig Thu 10-Jan-13 12:26:42

sorry congratulations blush

Huffpot Thu 10-Jan-13 18:04:33

That's ok Hedge

Hoping not to stack it on - in fact I'd still like to lose a bit (if possible)

Midwife is referring me to a dietician....I asked for a referral to one from my doctor when I was nearly 2 stone heavier and he sent the referral through and I was declined as I wasn't morbidly obese...makes me smile

Hedgepig Thu 10-Jan-13 19:40:03

Drives you mad doesn't it! surely its much better to help people before they get morbidly obese with all the associated health issues grrrrr

It's like trying to get speed reduction measures in my village, apparently there haven't been enough accidents involving pedestrians to justify it confused

grinningbee Thu 10-Jan-13 20:32:57

Evening lovely people smile

Big hug to you Lady and also thinking of you FHF

Hedge old bean, am I sending you the vital statistics tonight?

It's been a good food week grin

Hedgepig Thu 10-Jan-13 20:35:28

Yep Bee send them to me

Hedgepig Thu 10-Jan-13 21:06:16

I'm going to do the list at 9.30 if there are any more takers

Hedgepig Thu 10-Jan-13 21:29:05

Anyone else??

Hedgepig Thu 10-Jan-13 21:39:40

The scores on the doors this week are

Grinningbee -5lb this week, total weight loss 5lb, start weight 15st 12.5lb, current weight 15st 7.5lb.
Chocolatesnowangel -4lbs this week , current weight 12st 1lb.
Kid lost 3lb this week total loss 3lb.
Fakeblond lost 1lb this week, 8lb to go to target weight.
Hedgepig -1.5 lb this week, total loss 1.5lb current weight 11st 12.5lb aiming to get back to target weight of 11st 0lb.
Huffpot +5lb this week.

So slimmer of the week is the lovely Bee (unless its your 1st week and then it's ChocolatesnowAngel) do have a bowl of lovely fruit

Well done ladies

grinningbee Thu 10-Jan-13 21:46:09

Well done everyone!

I can't claim the fruit bowl 'cos it was my first week. So well done to Chcolate grin

Hedgepig Thu 10-Jan-13 21:56:38

But it has some lovely rank bananas in it Beegrin

ChocolatesSnowAngel Thu 10-Jan-13 22:00:15

ooo Bee I''ll swop you a rank banana for a squishy mouldy tangerine smile

Fabulous list <waves pom poms>

kid Thu 10-Jan-13 23:00:48

The worst piece of fruit has to be marmalade oranges. It doesn't matt how cheap they are, they are nasty. Yes, I bought some and as no one would eat them, they are now in the bin where they belong.

DH didn't lose any weight at all this week, yet I managed 3lb. Not sure what went wrong, I'm guessing it could be the crisp, nuts or wine that he had quite a lot of over the course of the week!

Well done to everyone, I think we are back on track with sw now that Christmas is out of the way. Maybe we can lose enough weight to not feel too guilty about eating Easter eggs in a few months time.

Sorry I missed the list, no biggie, I gained - again!!!!!

Backbon wagon tomorrow.

Sorry Ria, thinking if you xxx

Dsis is recovering well smile

kid Fri 11-Jan-13 00:45:41

Glad to hear she is recovering well smile

ChocolatesSnowAngel Fri 11-Jan-13 07:07:07

that's really good news about your Dsis FHF smile hope you ok too, stress can do strange things to you so take it easy

Hedgepig Fri 11-Jan-13 08:54:02

Splendid news about your Dsis FHF, sorry about the gain but ho hum it's another week

Bless your DH Kid, maybe he will be more focused this week

I've put myself down to do a Park Run Saturday morning 5k across a wet muddy park I must be bonkers. I'm actually bricking myself and will probably come last

Ria I hope you and you family are doing OK

grinningbee Fri 11-Jan-13 11:18:03

FHF Gad your Dsis is on the mend. Tis another week now, so I wouldn't fret about the gain.

Oooh so much mouldy fruit to choose from... yum yum <bleurgh> grin

Kid Nuts, crisps and wine would do it!

I'm going to make that Caribbean pepperpot stew again later. Yumdiddlyumptious smile

kid Fri 11-Jan-13 15:02:49

I fell over at work today! I managed to twist my ankle one way and my knee the opposite way. I'm fine though, ankle and knee are throbbing a bit but no swelling or bruising so I'll survive. I didn't even stop working, I got up and carried on with what I was doing grin

I haven't planned my meals at all since tuesday, I'm managing on a day to day basis but it means several visits to the shops during the week.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone, Dsis is looking well tonight she may get home on Sunday.

Good day today, not much food but wasn't that hungry.
B: 2 mandarins, melon
Mid morning snack - blueberries and an apple
L: grapes, strawberry Greek muller light (0.5 syns), orange
D: pasta and a gorgeous sauce made of tomato, tomato purée, peppers, onions, mushrooms and herbs with bacon. Lush!!
HeB: 2 rocky road Hifi lights.

Ria, how are things?

How'd everyone else's day go?

Poor kid, hope the leg heals soon x

How's everyone's Saturday been?

I'm waiting on my diet coke chicken to cook, I could eat a scabby donkey!

kid Sat 12-Jan-13 20:10:34

I've not had a great day but I'm hoping I'll get away with it by not using all syns up during the week.
I had weetabix for breakfast (HEb & HEa), but I was visiting someone at lunchtime and we dipped in to a tin of chocolates. I had 4 or 5. I just remember I also had a bar of chocolate before we got there, sod it. It was. One of those bueno ones.
To try and salvage the day, I had a fruit salad for lunch (melon, apple and tangerine) and dinner was a syn free chicken, pasta, green beans and peas.

I'm not overly worried about today, but its so easy to fall off the wagon!

kid Sat 12-Jan-13 22:56:14

I am so impressed with myself, I have just planned all of my meals until the 22nd January and I've ordered my shopping online to cover most of the meals. I may have to restock on some fresh fruit and veg, but the main part of the meals have been ordered to be delivered on Monday. I just hope everything turns up as I don't really want to have to go out and buy extra bits.

The way I am planning my meals is to type them on the computer week by week. Then, if one of the meals requires me to follow a recipe, I print that out too along with the meal plan and stick the whole lot on my fridge so if anyone wants to know what we are having, they can go and have a look for themselves.

I love being organised!

ladyarwenevenstar Sat 12-Jan-13 23:58:51

sounds fab kid. come round and organise me! I need a couple of reserve choices in case I can't be arsed!

grinningbee Sun 13-Jan-13 13:49:08

Happy Sunday! How did the mega run go Hedge? Kid Hope the leg is better. Yay for being so organised.

FHF Diet coke chicken? Is that similar to ham in coke?

All good here. Well, Thing is trying to organise tax return stuff for me to submit. I wish he wouldn't leave it so late. I'm a bit stressed. Grrr.

Foodwise all is going well. I just don't seem to be using my syns though. The most I seem to have in a day is 2 or 3!

Off for a top up shop in a mo. Without Thing or the dc grin

Diet coke chicken is easy and gorg.

Cook chicken breast, onion, pepper, mushroom (or whatever veg you choose) in a pan.

Add 1 tin diet coke/Pepsi max, 5 tablespoons of passatta, a splash of lea and perrins.

Let the liquid simmer til it becomes a sticky sauce.

Delicious & syn free. I served with sw chips & rice.

Hedgepig Sun 13-Jan-13 22:36:11

That sounds pretty yummy FHF I will add this to the list of possibilities . I need done inspiration as I am having one good day followed by one bad day at the moment

The run was OK Bee, not as fast as I had hoped but it was hilly (well as hilly as it gets around here! ) and very muddy .

Has anyone got snow, it is bitterly cold here but no snow yet .

No snow here yet. I hope it stays away. I hate snow.

Have you ever tried the baked bean lasagne? I'll stick the recipe in the other place.

I'm a hungry horse tonight - but it's free & Superfree so that might not do me too much damage.

kid Sun 13-Jan-13 23:38:32

I've had baked bean lasagne before, it's lovely.
Leg is completely fine, I was very lucky.
We don't have any snow here, I'll doubt we'll get any either which is great. DC want it to snow, but its not practical, especially if I have to go out.

2 glasses of white wine spritzer isn't too bad, is it? blush no other syns today so I'm hoping it was ok.

Hedgepig Mon 14-Jan-13 13:24:18

I really want chocolate hmm. I think it's the snow making me want a big sugar boost

Do you have any hot choc hedge? Lower in syns and warmer than a bug bar.

I woke this morning feeling rough. Had to ring in sick, but after sleeping all morning I'm feeling good. Contemplating going in for the afternoon, but know if it was colleague he wouldn't be as thoughtful.

Just had apple and plum so far. Am making lasagne for dinner.

big bar, not a bug bar grin

I want cake.

Oh boy do I want cake!!!!

I'm in bed, so not near the kitchen.

Families are the best of times and the worst of times. Today is one of the worst of times.

SlimJimBra Tue 15-Jan-13 08:01:04

Oh dear FH, glad to hear dsis is on the mend but sorry to hear family are causing you grief.
Ria so sorry to hear about your uncle - hope you and you parents are ok ( well as ok as you can be obviously)
Hello everyone else smile
We have been manic here with getting the house on the market, went live on rightmove on Fri pm and had two viewings yesterday. I went to face the music at Group last tues and had only gained 1lb - all that lugging stuff around must have helped counteract the medicinal chocolate...

grinningbee Tue 15-Jan-13 14:37:26

Afternoon everyone smile

Still being a good Bee. It's funny but I haven't really had any cravings for "naughty" food since starting EE. How odd!

Going to make a lasagne for tea tonight. Yum.

Bright sunshine here today and the snow is melting. Hurrah!

Hope you're all ok. Weigh in day for me tomorrow... I am quietly optimistic grin

Off to look up different providers of online shops now. I have plans in the works wink

What're your plans bee? If you can share that is!!!

Glad to hear of another good day, makes all the difference doesn't it?

I'd a good day too. Weigh in Thursday.

B: fruit
L: home made veg broth
D: lasagne hea cheese
HeB 2 rocky roads

No other snacking today

kid Wed 16-Jan-13 17:18:37

I've had another good day today. I'm just about to start dinner (chicken tikka masala) but as DH is going out tonight, he wanted something heavy in his stomach to absorb some alcohol. Makes sense, he isn't much of a drinker. He has sent dd to get him saveloy and chips. That 1.5 lb he lost this week may go back on for next week!

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 16-Jan-13 18:40:21

you're going good kid, well done. Why couldn't DH have the curry?

FHF -I'm sorry I missed your birthday, hope you had a great one and that your sis is doing well.

we had the funeral today. I know it's a cliche, but it was a lovely service, and really fitting. Of course I made a FOOL of myself by putting my hand on my mums shoulder as a symbol of comfort, and she thought I'd gone to pieces and rushed back to comfort me, so we both collapsed in floods... blush Anyhow, I got through without squeaking or snorting, and my makeup didn't runwink Though the only element missing was my unclesad. My mum said the same, that ths morning was strange without him phoning to see if dad was wearing suit/jacket/tie and what time should they leave, and I had said to DH that it wouldn't be right without him there afterwards to tell his stories to make us all laugh. And it wasn't.sad

will try to WI tomorrow, as I am looking forward to getting back on plan (why does the enthusiam I have when I an menu planning disappear as soon as I have to cook?), but I am covering another full day at work and will need an early start to deal with the weather.

Ah Ria, am sure today was difficult for you hugs

Sis is doing good, tired and a bit sore, but in good spirits.

Another good day for me. Avoided high syn foods at my sis house today, had KFC style goujons and sw chips for dinner.

Am hoping for a loss of done kind tomorrow! Even a couple of lb would please me!

Kid your day looked good too, well done your dh smile

kid Thu 17-Jan-13 14:58:46

I'm pleased to hear the funeral went well lady. They are never nice experiences but its good it all went as planned.

I'm making crispy fish and chips tonight for dinner.
DH couldn't have the curry as it wasn't going to be ready in time. He had a works do to get to and I was late starting dinner.
DS hated it so I left his in a container for my dad and he ate it, not sure what he thought of it. Me and dd enjoyed it but it was a bit too tomatoey for me.
As I was cooking it, DH said it smelt nice and looked like I knew what I was doing lol.

I weighed in yesterday, a slow loss is a steady loss isn't it? Well I'd quite like to see a speedy loss sometimes.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 17-Jan-13 18:58:08

hi all. I forgot to WI ths morning - I had an awful night and was running late. Will be WI-ing tomorrow and getting on plan, probably a green day tomorrow.

grinningbee Thu 17-Jan-13 20:07:26

Evening grin

Lady I'm glad yesterday went well. It must have been hard ((hugs))

Who are we pm'ing today?

I will reveal details of the planned venture on FB. The laptop I'm using at the mo is irritating as it's missing half the keys and I'm having to use a virtual keyboard. Pain in the posterior!

Hedgepig Thu 17-Jan-13 21:13:24

Evening don't mind doing the list but it will be late as we haven't eaten yet, I've been to the hairdressers swish swish.

grinningbee Thu 17-Jan-13 21:16:21

Ooooh, get you Mrs fancy hair winkgrin I shall Pm you now x

ChocolatesSnowAngel Thu 17-Jan-13 22:38:51

Your pork balls sound lovely, how are they made?

Huffpot Sat 19-Jan-13 09:01:10

Well done FHF!

Am still throwing up and existing on bread so too scared to WI blush

Hedgepig Sat 19-Jan-13 18:50:56

Boo hiss to throwing up Huff

I've had a good day for exercise 5k this morning in the snow grin but a bad day for SW my nemesis biscuits yet again

Good for you on the 5k!! Excellent!!!

And I remember the throwing up days well! Funnily enough I was always slimmer when pregnant than any other time. Hyperemisis was pants sad

I've had a good day so far - fruit & yog breakfast, chick noodle soup lunch & chilli chick dinner.

Sitting here stuffed.

I have a bag of quorn fillets (I think) in the freezer - what wold you make with them?

have a good week smile

Huffpot Mon 21-Jan-13 11:40:05

I don't have the benefit of weight loss as after the initial chuck everything tends to stay down hmm
Have learnt not to have a hot drink after 7pm or I'm up weeing all night.

Off to the consultant today so fingers crossed I'll still be able to have a normal delivery with the prolapse!

Sorry Ria, just seeing this now - id do a curry smile

Good luck @ consultant huff x

kid Thu 24-Jan-13 14:29:41

DoD today?
who's doing the list?

grinningbee Thu 24-Jan-13 18:37:30

Howdy do!

FHF I'll bung the meatball recipe on sometime. Not tried them yet, but will be making them tomorrow.

Tonight I have in the slow cooker some low fat sausages, a tin of beans, a tin of tomatoes, a chopped onion, beef stock cube and a few slugs of veggie worcester sauce. Going to serve it with some mash.

Who is doing the honours tonight?

SlimJimBra Thu 24-Jan-13 20:51:37

Anyone doing the list today? If not I'll happily compile the vital statistics smile

grinningbee Thu 24-Jan-13 21:47:21

I'm on my phone and can't pm for some reason. I've lost 1.5lb this week, making 8.5lb off so far. Not far to get down into the next stone. Yay grin

SlimJimBra Thu 24-Jan-13 22:14:42

Shall we just do a self-announced WI tonight then, seeing as bee has started that ball rolling anyway?
Slim gained 3lb (over 2 weeks) and is now 1lb over target range sad

I lost half lb to get back into target range.

Total loss 3st 8.5lb just 5.5lb to go til the 4st.

kid Thu 24-Jan-13 22:38:04

I've lost 2lb this week, that takes my total loss to 6lb (in three weeks smile)

ChocolatesSnowAngel Fri 25-Jan-13 08:22:22

Sorry missed weigh in yesterday but weighed this morning and I have stayed the same.

The bridesmaids dresses are coming in March so need to get rid of the 3lb I have gained since I was measured up, dont want any bulges!

Hope you all are well, will catch up on the thread asap smile

Huffpot Fri 25-Jan-13 13:53:30

I have been avoiding the scales confused

Well done on the losses everyone!

Well done everyone smile

How'd consultant go huff? Hope all went your way xx

I've made potato & leek soup (and sampled it) it's lush!! Even if I do say so myself!

Today has been a but carby

B: 2 satsumas, banana & a tub of blueberries grazed on during the course of the morning & 1 black coffee

L: baked potato with beans, onion and hea cheese with salad followed by an apple & a tin of diet coke.

D: spag bol smile

ladyarwenevenstar Sat 26-Jan-13 09:23:20

morning all. Finally found time to WI this morning, and I have also gained 3lb over 2 weeks.

we have snow today so all plans for the day are off. I will have to do minimal shopping at the village shop, (instead of the big tesco shop I had planned) and may hit the church jumble sale for fun! Have a good weekend x

Huffpot Sat 26-Jan-13 20:15:18

Consultant went well despite him not knowing why I was there hmm
I can have a natural delivery again - I was scared I'd have to have a section with the prolapse but apparently that would be a worse option so while dreading labour am very relieved! grin

Good news huff!!

And Ria, here's to a better week!

My Saturday had went AWOL I'm afraid.

Nuff said.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Sun 27-Jan-13 09:41:18

Gave into the pre menstrual cravings last night and am more than a little shame faced today blush

You & me both choc, I feel ill.

Tummy is all achey & sore. I've had brunch today heB bread, bacon, fried egg, 2 low syn sausages (2 syns).

Have only stomached diet coke since.

ChocolatesSnowAngel Mon 28-Jan-13 08:03:31

You poor thing FHF, is that the normal for you? I seem to recall you having a bad time previously too sad

My horrendousness hits every other month, think its a heavy but no pain month for me this time (so far so good!) When its light the pain is just on the stupid scale, think one side must be blocked a bit!

Sunday is always a naughty day as I visit my family and take cakes so today will be a fresh start

B- Fruit, yogurt and boiled egg
L - Pitta (i know its not on list but i'm still classing it as my heb) ham salad with 70% ff salad cream, fruit
D- ff Sausages, mangetout and baked potato with hea cheese on top

How bad is Innocent pure apple juice syn wise? taste wise it was amazing but anything that good has to have high syn value....come on someone scare me into never buying it again (and the pure orange too...|I blame Sainsburys and their darn offers!!!) grin

Innocent orange is 2syns per 100ml do apple would be similar.

Yes, my periods have been horrendous recently. Last one arrived on sun 6th January, which means I've about a week til it's due yet I'm all bloated & sore & so emotional it's unbelievable!

An spending this week with J & had a lovely time with her kids today, 2 beautiful wee imps!!

Food ok!! (stood on scales & they say I gained 3.5lv since Thursday's weigh-in blush so need to reign it in.

B: apple & banana
L: 2 bowls of leek & potato soup
D: cottage pie with loads of extra veg followed by a satsuma, an apple and a plum
HeB : 2 rocky road Hifi lights.

Only syns is in mix for cottage pie 2syns.

HeA milk in 3 coffees today.

How're y'all doing?

Anyone see the ww docu on ch4?

ChocolatesSnowAngel Tue 29-Jan-13 16:24:43

Missed the documentary if its on catchup tv i will look out for it.

FHF Spoke too soon re the pain had an awful night last night. I have noticed that I no longer bloat before hand anymore I think that that is due to giving up the fizzy drinks, i used to go through about 3-4 big bottles of Pepsi Max a week in work, (disgusting I know) but like I say since giving up I just dont bloat. If you are a fizzy addict try for yourself

Liking that syn value for the juice as it is so lovely I really was expecting it to be sky high! smile

I have been horrid today and ate a bubble bar and 3 fig rolls and yes i will be eating the minstrels very soon too, I should feel bad but I NEED chocolate. blush

Hope you all well and are being less naughty than I am grin

You might be on to something there with the fizzy minerals,
I might give that a go!

I've had a just ok day. B: apple. L: 2 wholemeal, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, scallions, ham then a banana. Followed by a bit of wheaten blush

Dinner was sw chips, chicken & roasted veg.

Bought doughnuts for the kids today on way home & managed to not eat any smile

ChocolatesSnowAngel Thu 31-Jan-13 09:33:09

Weighed myself this morning, it wasn't pretty, definitely using the star week card grin

Hedgepig Thu 31-Jan-13 11:18:05

Morning all I will weigh later, not expecting too much I haven been SW-ing as I've been feeling so nauseous since my stomach bug. I went to the Drs last night and she think my stomach has been made sore by the sickness so I have anti acid meds for a month to see if that calms things down.

How is you did this week FHF?

I'm glad you got to the bottom of your bloating Chocolate , that us a lot of fuzzy drink

Nothing very exciting happening I'm off for a run tonight (hopefully ). Best do some work

kid Thu 31-Jan-13 21:12:11

I've been trying to drink more water than usual, so I'll try and cut out the diet coke too.
I did wi today, it wasn't great but it was an improvement on earlier in the week so I can't complain too much I suppose.

grinningbee Thu 31-Jan-13 21:45:26

Oh crap!

I just remembered that I offered to do the list <nitwit emoticon>

If anyone wants to pm me, I'll do a list tonight. Sorry for being so late - I've just been playing with a layout for my website grin

grinningbee Thu 31-Jan-13 21:58:59

Or are we doing another self-publishing week?

I'm sorry I forgot blush

SlimJimBra Thu 31-Jan-13 22:01:49

Bee are you doing the list?

SlimJimBra Thu 31-Jan-13 22:02:29

Oh, terrible x-posting there! Will pm you

SlimJimBra Thu 31-Jan-13 22:07:23

I'm feeling really sorry for myself today sad don't know why but everything seems bleak somehow. I know some of it is to do with putting on weight this week but it is more than just that, and I can't really elaborate as I don't know myself what's causing it sad

Hedgepig Thu 31-Jan-13 22:15:57

I PMed you Bee but I can self post if you prefer .

SlimJim ((hugs)) I get that sometimes , it generally a mix of tiredness, hormones, drudgery, etc hope you perk up soon. Don't stress about putting on weight, I'm struggling to maintain my target weight (hence the extra stone I have put on) but I think it's just finding your way of maintaining your weight, which may or may not be pure SW (sorry if that is a bit of heresy ladies smile).

Hedgepig Thu 31-Jan-13 22:16:29

Oo web site building Bee how exciting

grinningbee Thu 31-Jan-13 22:44:24

Slim ((hugs))

Not heresy Hedge! I dare say that when I get to target I'll have the odd day off wink

Righto - here is the list for tonight. Sorry for the lateness!

Hedgepig has lost 4lb, current weight 11st 10lb, total loss 4lb, target weight 11st 0lb

Grinningbee has lost 2lb this week, start weight 15st 12.5lb, current weight 15st 2lb, total loss so far 10.5lb

SlimJimBra has gained 1.5lb this week, but is only a gnat’s whisker over target

So congrats and a dodgy fruit basket to Hedge this week. Well done grin

SlimJimBra Thu 31-Jan-13 22:47:11

Thanks hedge and bee. I wish I knew what was wrong so I could put it right.
Well done hedge - that's an impressive loss smile

Hedgepig Fri 01-Feb-13 18:26:32

Thanks but a bit fraudulent as it was over 2 weeks!

It's DS1s football club fundraiser tonight.... Family bingo wish me luck ! Apparently there is drink so it may not be so badgrin

SlimJimBra Wed 06-Feb-13 09:41:20

Has no one posted for the best part of a week? shock What are we like!
I had a good wi last night - very pleased with myself and quite amazed at what can be achieved when sticking 100% to plan grin blush

ChocolatesSnowAngel Wed 06-Feb-13 13:12:13

Glad you perkier Slim nothing worse than feeling down.

Need to start sticking to the plan, have told the girls in the office to stop bringing unwanted delicious mouth drooling left over chocolates from Christmas in, but they just dont listen!!!

I have NO willpower AT ALL its ridiculous I cant even walk to the printer without being seduced by the Dairy Milk and All Gold! and i have been printing a lot of letters! damn.

Therefore not expecting a loss this week, it would take a miracle for that to happen. Sort of hoping that I can burn off everything when I go skiing at the end of next weeks, that will give me a kickstart to being back on track when I get back.

SlimJimBra Wed 06-Feb-13 16:10:26

Ooh skiing envy
I have just given blood - the biscuits they give you afterwards don't count do they?? <ignores the fact I ate 4>

kid Thu 07-Feb-13 06:49:20

I did pm my wi last week but I know I gained 1lb. But, at least I know why I gained it (2 meals out that week)

I've been a little better this week but haven't managed to be 100% on plan. Are we pm'ing anyway this week?

It's very cold here this morning. I'm up and dressed but feel like their is a vice tightening around my neck. Today is going to be fun at work sad at least its almost the weekend.

SlimJimBra Thu 07-Feb-13 18:10:24

I'll do the list if you want to pm me smile

SlimJimBra Thu 07-Feb-13 21:16:36

Only one pm so far - where are the rest of you hiding?

Hedgepig Thu 07-Feb-13 21:22:08

I've PMed you Slim.

I've had an unexpected day at home today DS2 whacked his head at nursery and they were a bit worried about him so I took him to the GP. Everything was fine but I kept him at home for the day just in case.

SlimJimBra Thu 07-Feb-13 21:24:04

Thanks hedge smile any more....? G'wan you know you want to grin

SlimJimBra Thu 07-Feb-13 21:24:39

Ps glad to hear ds is ok - must have been a bit scary

Hedgepig Thu 07-Feb-13 21:44:29

I was ok 'til I got to nursery and saw him asleep up the comfy corner with one of the nursery nurses sat by him with a list of the times she had prodded him to make sure he was just sleeping and not unconscious . Anyway he's fine thank heavens

SlimJimBra Thu 07-Feb-13 21:48:11

Oh crikey - that sound really scary. DS banged his head yesterday (he just went flat on his back in the tiles in the kitchen) but he just screamed and screamed so I knew he was ok!
Will do list at 10

SlimJimBra Thu 07-Feb-13 22:29:13

bra lost 4lb and is back in target range <phew>
bee lost 1lb start weight 15st 12.5lb, current weight 15st 1lb, total loss so far 11.5lb
hedge has sts current weight 11st 10lb aiming to get back to target weight of 11st 0lb

Well done short and sweet list-ers

I think bee gets the fruit as I had a gain last week and the two weeks before that too

Hedgepig Thu 07-Feb-13 22:33:09

You have been very focused Bra well done. And we'll done Bee.

I'm lucky I haven't gained given the crap I have been eating.

kid Thu 07-Feb-13 22:52:01

I just sent a PM and then saw that you've done the list already!

I lost 2lb this week, thats 7lb in total smile

SlimJimBra Thu 07-Feb-13 22:55:54

I was just popping back to add kid to the list but have been beaten to it! Well done kid - a good loss smile

ChocolatesSnowAngel Fri 08-Feb-13 08:36:30

Sorry didn't get to add to the list, according to my scales I have stayed the same again, though (and cover your ears if you need to) i haven't had any movement for about a week so i am still carrying around a weeks worth of food!!! tis not good sad

grinningbee Fri 08-Feb-13 15:27:40

Howdy do smile

Bangs on the head are scary. Glad he's ok Hedge

Well done on the losses everyone!

We'll all be looking forward to seeing how much you lost next week Choc wink although it must be a bit uncomfortable...

SlimJimBra Sat 09-Feb-13 09:02:06

Ooh Choc you poor thing - you must be very uncomfortable sad

Hedgepig Wed 13-Feb-13 21:55:09

Evening have you been Choc? I just bought the Hairy Dieters cook book, there are some yummy recipes in there.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 14-Feb-13 21:32:08

it is a good book Hedge, the spanish chorizo chicken is yummy.

Huffpot Sun 24-Feb-13 12:42:26

Just sticking my head in to say hi

I'm being awful with my food - completley in a sod it I'm getting fatter anyway mindset. I would love to balance it but really dont know if that will happen.

Am 18 weeks now so nearly half way smile

ChocolatesSnowAngel Thu 28-Feb-13 13:29:39

Just pushing some air into a dying thread!!!!! Someone get the defib quick!

Back from skiing and pleased to note I have shifted a couple of pounds - well I had when I checked Monday, a lot has happened since then I suppose and yes Hedge I went Phew!

Off on my Sisters Hen weekend tomorrow, lots of Prosecco, Bacardi, Maltesers and other yummy stuff, so not expecting a loss at all next week.
But I have to be a good girl and play nice as the bridesmaid dresses are in and I am 5lb heavier than I was when I was measured for the dress, so that has to go smile

Hopefully there is still someone around to give me a kick to get started (after the weekend of course!)

kid Sun 03-Mar-13 09:38:54

Come on everyone, lets not abandon each other. I'll ignore the fact that I haven't been here for weeks grin

We need to keep going, we can't undo all the good work we've done so far.

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 03-Mar-13 18:14:28

Thank God it didn't flatline I was getting tired with all the CPR.

Hi Kid so glad thread not dead, now we just need a stick to poke the others awake!

Today I am recovering from my Sisters hen weekend and mentally preparing myself to make some changes as from tomorrow, need to do it mind.

Come on, where's Slim to kick my butt!!!!

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 03-Mar-13 18:15:43

How bad is Prosseco syn wise?

kid Sun 03-Mar-13 22:29:10

No idea, but if it was a special occasion I think that counts as syn free!

SlimJimBra Mon 04-Mar-13 07:27:58

Choc - I can't really kick your butt after the past few weeks I've had. I've well and truly fallen off the wagon and not been to group for a month. I'm clinging on to the fact my jeans still do up so hopefully the damage isn't too horrendous but the truth will out tomorrow night!
How's everyone else?

ChocolateBridesmaid Mon 04-Mar-13 08:27:20

Trying to get appointment for Doctor at the moment as the pain in one finger has spread to all of them in 48 hours and my hands and now 4 of my toes!what the hell is all that about!!!

Keep thinking of the extra Easter Eggs I bought on purpose sitting in the spare room, I really must hide them from myself.

Think I need to come up with a new 5 point plan hmmmm

ChocolateBridesmaid Mon 04-Mar-13 08:34:27

Slim, I've not been to group since November, and I refuse to go back with a gain. I know I can do this I have all the knowledge on what to do, I don't need to pay someone to weigh me. I can buy my own stickers if I felt the need to. Just need a kick start or gastroenteritis! grin

SlimJimBra Tue 05-Mar-13 07:37:16

I'm off to group tonight to face the music... FC it's not too bad! Choc I fear you and I might both be five-point-planning this week grin

ChocolateBridesmaid Tue 05-Mar-13 14:03:49

I ate an egg blush

SlimJimBra Wed 06-Mar-13 08:16:16

<ahem> Choc! shock
I need to lose a couple of lbs this week - WI was not good

ChocolateBridesmaid Wed 06-Mar-13 16:18:28

Oh dear, I am too scared to look!!!

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 07-Mar-13 16:50:50

Ok I looked. Anyone else lurking prepared to share?

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 07-Mar-13 17:04:57

hi. delurking also, and also been off the wagon in a big way. Yet again I have not managed to lose any weight and keep it off while my parents were away. I did lose 8lb the first couple of weeks, but I expect it's back on. Struggling with my head, both with food and other stuff.

kid Thu 07-Mar-13 17:35:44

I had a sneaky peek at the scales this morning and have gained 3lb since I last WI. But, I feel like I've lost all of that today with my poorly tummy sad but guess its a silver lining and may help me lose weight. I wouldn't recommend it though.

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 07-Mar-13 19:28:00

Kid, come and breathe on me I need a kick start again!

So basically we have all gone to pot then.

Enough of the hanging the heads in shame, I have a new plan.

New plan.
1. Stop going to Home Bargains - I always buy a ton of choc there.
2. Eat more fibre.
3. Have a proper filling breakfast
4. Take more yogurts in to work for that 3pm munchtime
5. Say no when offered fat lovely nice treats
6. Think slim.
7. Leave the Easter eggs alone!!!
8. Stick to extra easy and watch the pounds fall off

That should do for now

kid Thu 07-Mar-13 21:09:56

Sounds like a good plan chocolate, think I'll follow suit.
I've only had 1 alpen light bar today, 2 slices of toast and 2 cups of tea. I hate being ill, I am such a bad patient, all I do is moan and tell anyone who will listen how ill I am!

ChocolateBridesmaid Fri 08-Mar-13 09:32:49

B - DD yogurt, grapes, boiled egg
L - pitta heb ham, salad, salad cream 1 syn curly wurly 6 syns
D- ff sausages, mangetout, potatoe with cheese hea

Snack on grapes whilst in work, home is the problem re snacking.

Cupboards are bare until I go shopping though, so power with me as to whether or not I put them in my trolley.

Have hidden the Easter eggs in drawer under DD bed, can't let her know they are there which means I won't have access to them to snack on them.

SlimJimBra Fri 08-Mar-13 18:12:31

I have had no syns today at all (am going out for dinner tonight though, and had 37 syns in last 2 days so not good sad)

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 10-Mar-13 14:42:47

So how many syns now Slim? Mine are off the chart so not even going there! Chippy chips Friday, bags of small creme eggs etc....not good.

ChocolateBridesmaid Mon 11-Mar-13 08:37:56

Gave self talking to and now currently eating speed food strawberries for breakfast with ff yogurt.

Lunch is in hand as is dinner lots of speed food today.

Need to undo damage done over the weekend.

How are you all getting on???

kid Mon 11-Mar-13 14:48:33

I don't know how I'm going to get back on plan at the moment, I want to and I need to but its a lack of being organised for me at the moment.

Today, I've had:

B: 2 weetabix, milk, coffee
L: Jacket potato, baked beans, carrots, peas.
Alpen light bar, tea
Later, I'll be having D: Chicken with peppers, onions and garlic.

I know thats a mixture of red and green which isn't the best choice but its a last minute put together meal.
If I have some fruit straight after dinner, could I get away with calling it an EE day?

I am too tired to care right now tbh. I do care, but not enough to do anything about it.

ChocolateBridesmaid Tue 12-Mar-13 07:03:08

Ok I would say that was EE.

You have to want to do it to make it work and not just say it but really mean it, cause if you are doing what I've been doing then you are kidding yourself.

I need to stop lieing to myself and work at it. Yesterday went better until the jaffa cakes seduced me, so starting again today.

Let you know how I got on.

Kid your food for yesterday looked good, stick with it, you know you can do it smile

ChocolateBridesmaid Fri 15-Mar-13 06:45:47

Well, I lost 1lb <dances by self in deserted thread> smile

kid Fri 15-Mar-13 06:59:51

Well done chocolate, good to hear someone is still following sw!
I'm going to do some menu planning at the weekend and will wi to see what th damage is.

Huffpot Sat 16-Mar-13 10:57:36

Hi all
Wow the thread has gone quiet.
I'm going to be climbing back on the wagon shortly.
For those that don't know we sadly lost our baby and I delivered it sleeping on the 6th March.
Am just waiting to see if there are any offers to join again and will go back to my old group and face the damage.

Well done on the loss Choc!

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 17-Mar-13 20:39:26

Huff, I am so so sorry for your loss x God bless your little Angel, my thoughts are with you and your family xxx

Huffpot Mon 18-Mar-13 13:27:45

Thanks Choc smile

I weighed myself yesterday and have piled on the weight. I'm getting a grocery delivery from Asda tomorrow and have some fruit in so am going to attempt to climb back on the wagon!

ChocolateBridesmaid Tue 19-Mar-13 16:33:27

Ahem blush Home Bargains is selling creme eggs 8 for £1

I bought 32!!!!!!

Huffpot Wed 20-Mar-13 13:53:17

Theres no home bargains near me smug grin

32!?! I hope you're better at resisting temptation than I am choc

ChocolateBridesmaid Wed 20-Mar-13 22:08:01

Well there are 30 in the bag now, I also bought two large bags of mini eggs, there is one bag left and I bought eight caramel bunnys. There are four left.

Looking for a large staple gun for my mouth!!!!!

Huffpot Thu 21-Mar-13 12:01:42

Its awful isn't it? I'm a bit addicted to shortbread biscuits at the moment so trying not to buy them as I have no will power.

DP is a carpenter so sure he has a staple gun somewhere....wink

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 21-Mar-13 16:44:57

I need it RIGHT NOW!!!!

Went back to Home & Bargain and bought more treats sad I am going to hide them with the Easter eggs when i get in that way i wont have full on access to them (i hide them in the drawer under my DD bed...if she finds them i am done for so have to keep it a secret...sssshhhhhh) until then i am tucking into a Caramel Bunnies 2 pack.

One hopeful thing is that the inside of my mouth is really sore from the excess chocolate and it hurts to eat chocolate (yet i am sitting here doing just that hence need for staple gun!) SO i am thinking once i have hidden the chocolate i wont want it anymore hmm

Huffpot Thu 21-Mar-13 17:23:46

Hmm that wouldn't work with me....
I know a girl from my SW group who puts anything bad in her car boot because then she was normally too lazy to go outside and get it grin

Wow - its so very quiet here!

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 21-Mar-13 19:22:53

I know I just saw some tumbleweed!

Huffpot Fri 22-Mar-13 16:17:38

I thought I was just imagining the tumbleweed! grin

kid Sun 24-Mar-13 08:18:08

Lets bring this post back to the top and also back on my theads I'm on list

I haven't bought any easter eggs yet. Someone did buy my DC a giant dairy milk each which I haven't even been tempted to open for them. Once its opened, it will be much harder to resist. Luckily, I've told them they can't open it until Good Friday so I know I'm safe until then.

Huffpot Sun 24-Mar-13 10:17:24

I agree kid

I'm thinking I'm going to ask DP for something other than chocolate for my Easter present.

My two terrors have already been given their first eggs too...their excess of chocolate will be my biggest downfall sad

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 24-Mar-13 10:23:36

Kid, next year I will take a leaf out of your book, as the amount of chocolate I have consumed is disgusting!

I have now bagged all the chocolates, one for the kids, one for the adults and one for the cake so I don't touch them. They are all with the eggs under my DD bed.

I haven't touched then because they are not mine to take, that's the way I'm looking at it now and its working.

I am lucky that I only gained two lbs this week it could have been a lot worse sad

I have a fitting in 10 days and need to loose some of the 8 lbs gained since the last fitting, so going baCk to basics. I am ignoring last nights chippy as today is the day I start again.

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 24-Mar-13 10:24:28

Morning Huff smile

Huffpot Sun 24-Mar-13 15:23:03

Hiya choc smile

I'm still not back on the wagon but I have it in sight

kid Sun 24-Mar-13 20:55:19

I've got a 10 days until I collect the keys for my house! I have no intention of following sw in the first few days of moving, it will be a case of eat what we can when we can.
I'm not stressed, yet!

Hi all, can I slink back in un-noticed?

Huff - I want to give you a hug (((for you)))

I have been kind of following plan, about 80% on plan, but I keep bloody gaining weight!!

THEN dh tells me sheepishly that when the fry light ran out he filled the bottle with olive oil - ok it won't explain it all, but some at least!!

As some of you know I quit being a consultant earlier this month, but still attend a class.

I hope I have a loss this week - am currently 7lb over target (again) and need to have that 7lb off by the 2nd week in April for a dress to fit me..

Be back tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Huffpot Mon 25-Mar-13 18:39:11

huge hugs back for FHF

Its nice to see the thread coming back to life.

Bless your husband FHF grin

Yes, he does try smile

Today was another good day (I think)

Breakfast was melon (I never have for anything substantial & if I have a Hifi it's so sweet sets me off for rest of day)

Lunch was a roast dinner left over from yesterday - chicken, boiled potato, broccoli, carrots, gravy & stuffing (syns)

Dinner was speed/mushy pea curry with heaps of veg served with egg fried rice and a handful of sw chips (shopping done, fry light purchased)

And am in bed now with cup of tea and 2 Hifi bars smile

Yesterday went ok'ish too.

How'd everyone else get on?

Ps: have you read the thread in chat "do you weigh yourself every day?"

How many of you do & will admit it? wink

I weigh twice a week - on a Monday morning (to assess weekend damage) and on the morning of weigh in! (even though my scales are different to group)

Huffpot Tue 26-Mar-13 08:48:10

I don't but will jump on several times through the week just to see how I'm doing....but the batteries on my scales have died (which with the rate I'm still eating crap is a blessing in disguise!)
I've gotten into bad habits more with breakfast and snacking than anything else. I'm reassuring myself that when I get back to group and plan it'll fall off me.

You're doing very well FHF smile

But you're probably more focused when at group huff. I know I usually am!

Today has been ok (so far)

B: melon & strawberries
L: ham, red onion, toms, lettuce, egg, peppers.
I've had a few coffees also using my HEa milk.

Dunno what's for dinner as I'm for a concert at my nieces school so will probably grab something when I get home.

Bloody hell, have I scared everyone away?

It's all me, me, me!!!

Anyway, this evening went as follows:

2 biscuits, 1 coffee, one wholemeal roll (heB) with flora and lean ham. So syns in biscuits & flora.

Am in bed now do can do no more damage!!

Huffpot Wed 27-Mar-13 07:55:33

I'm not easily scared wink

Definitely far far more focussed at group....and totally child like and love getting shiny stickers grin
Plus its a night out with people I like and who are all in the same boat

I went to bed last night to get away from the kitchen. I feel like the very hungry caterpillar!

Lost 3lb this week!
Am only 1lb out of target range now, focused on the week ahead now smile

Dd is being a pain, she's only 11 so im dreading the teen years.

Huffpot Fri 29-Mar-13 08:17:58

Well done FHF! That's so good.

Aghh. They grow up far too quickly. I'm dreading my two getting that attitude. You have to love her Fair but you DON'T have to like her as my mum always says about us

ChocolateBridesmaid Fri 29-Mar-13 19:40:52

Hi guys, I think I should have lost some today as I spent 4 hours dragging two teenagers round the city centre in an attempt to buy 'old' clothes for my DD school holiday after the Easter break.

It's one of those activity holidays were the list of things to bring says old clothes or clothes you don't mind getting wrecked. I mind very much my DDs clothes getting wrecked actually, hence the trip to that hell hole called Primark. Seriously I should have lost half a stone battling my way round that shop!

Well done FHF on the loss, wrt your DD, buckle up its going to get worse! My DD is nearly 13, I rock in the corner whilst jibbering away speak from experience...good luck.

Huffpot Sun 31-Mar-13 12:24:47

Primark is can get some ok stuff in there but its always crowded.
The toddlers enjoy trying to pull things off hangers if I ever venture in there

Huffpot Sun 31-Mar-13 12:25:05

Happy Easter by the way grin

SlimJimBra Tue 02-Apr-13 03:50:41

Hello everyone <sneaks in to room>
How are we all? smile I'm awake at silly-o'clock, I just can't sleep at the mo - haven't slept properly for nearly 3 weeks sad

Huffpot Tue 02-Apr-13 09:03:39

Hiya slim
Lovely to see ya

I am good...climbing back on the wagon tomorrow finally so will probably eat my body weight in chocolate eggs today!

That sucks about the sleeping sad

SlimJimBra Tue 02-Apr-13 09:16:25

Hello huff smile how are you feeling? Good luck getting back on the SW wagon, but give yourself time to heal too x
Not sleeping sucks but at least there is mobile phone Internet to keep me company.

Huffpot Tue 02-Apr-13 12:39:03

Am good really...certain things hit me a bit sometimes but am ready to focus.
I've become very domesticated with it all to keep busy.
My feet are getting sore again with the extra weight so needs to be done.

Thank goodness for technology.

ChocolateBridesmaid Wed 03-Apr-13 07:59:03

Morning, did we all survive Easter without too much stuffing of the faces?

I will just be glad when all the chocolate is gone!

Hey Slim, how you keeping? hope you sleeping better.

Huff you and your Angel are in my prayers, you eat as much chocolate as you want for now

Well today is the day, the day I have not prepared for I'm the slightest, the day I try that bridesmaid dress on and hope to god it fits! ...wish me luck

All the best with the bridesmaid dress choc!!!!

Ugh - I survived Easter, but am carrying extra baggage! Jumped on my scales this morning and I've 4.5lb on..... I know it's not really a true reading because of the unnaturally Hugh amount of shite food I've been stuffing down since last weigh day...

Huffpot Thu 04-Apr-13 08:07:34

How did the bridesmaid dress fitting go Choc?

Well I went back to group last night and am one stone heavier than my last official weigh in.

Starting today time to focus!

B:Porridge with grated apple and cinnamon and a cuppa
L: Have no idea yet but it will be on plan...maybe a stirfry?
D: SW quiche with chicken and veg and SW chips and salad on the side
Syns unknown as yet

Ok off I go to measure out my milk!

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 04-Apr-13 09:16:46

The fitting went really well thanks, perfect fit just need a touch off the length. I am under strict instructions not to loose any weight, so will weigh myself this morning and stick with this weight until the wedding. Then I will need a proper kick start as have a major holiday coming up grin and I WILL look amazing in a bikini if it kills me!!!!

Looks like a good day huff!! And you'll have that stone off in no time.

I'm about 8/9lb over target, need to get my finger out and do something about it!!

Choc well done, delighted dress is perfect fit smile

Huffpot Sun 07-Apr-13 07:36:34

Thats excellent news choc

Oh I hope so fair. If we decide to try for another one I would like to weigh a lot less - I found all the remarks about BMI a tad can see why some women develop eating disorders while pregnant!

Looks like a lovely spring day out there. Might take the toddlers for a walk to the shop without the pram gulp to get some extra plastic boxes for their mountain of toys

Bit the bullet tonight & got weighed at a different group.

Either her scales are helluva heavy or I'm in complete denial..... according to her scales I weigh 8st 12lb. Holy fuck. I was 8st 4lb when I got weighed not even 2weeks ago.

I am gutted, stunned & fuming all at once. Heaviest I've been in over 2yrs & means I'm 12lb over target instead of my expected 8lb.

That's it. The gorging and binging has to stop here & now.

Huffpot Tue 09-Apr-13 09:08:11

That's awful for you Fair
How do your clothes feel?

But you've been given a huge kick up the arse and I know you will focus and get it off quickly

I think I've caught the bug thats been going around. I threw up the night before last and was up every hour last night with the trots...I'm too scared to try to fart as its still going.
So it may help with the scales which I think I will need as even though I've been on plan I've also just gotten my period which has never been a good thing around weigh in time sad

Raining here so will tidy up and take the toddlers for a walk (have to buy more toilet paper for reasons listed above!wink )

Hi huff, that's awful for you, but I did lol a little at the scared to fart line grin

When do you weigh in?

You're tight about the kick up butt, today have had all Superfree fruits & scanbran, hope to boost it a bit this week.

Huffpot Tue 09-Apr-13 20:27:39

I know...its lasted all day! I just had some boiled milk and black pepper and am hoping thats gummed me up a bit!
I weigh in tomorrow - I can't wait to see. Im hoping its good as I've felt so much better being back in control of my food. I'll be disappointed if its not good confused

Ahh scan saving that till a couple of weeks in

Huffpot Tue 09-Apr-13 20:29:23

Scan bran is lovely spread with 0% Total yoghurt with sweetener and Options stirred in and strawberries sliced on top mmmmgrin

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 09-Apr-13 21:44:03

Hi guys, how are you all?

I soak the scanbran in water til it's soft, add a little milk and slice banana with sweetener. It's a bit like warm weetabix smile

Hi lady, how're you? You ok?

I had a good day yesterday, here's to another good day today (even though I just got a letter from tax credits saying we owe them £1000 odd!! Fuckers.

Huffpot Wed 10-Apr-13 17:03:28

Will give that a go Fair

I hate tax bills. DP is self employed and we had to pay them about £5000!!!

Lady lovely to see are you?

Well it may be a small achievement but its WI today and I have stayed on plan even having a salad for lunch at McDonalds. I will probably have a naughty dinner but Wednesdays before I was a bit lah-di-dah about it all grin

How'd weigh in go huff?

I'd a £2,500 tax bill last month sad paid it, but this letter relates to when we were getting tax credits, we're no longer entitled to it so they can't take it back little by little. They want us to contact them for repayment.

Sickens me.

I'd another good day: started with scanbran etc, lunch was potato and leek soup, Superfree fruits throughout day & sw chips, low syn sausages, beans & egg for dinner.

Huffpot Wed 10-Apr-13 20:45:20

And its ALWAYS a different matter when they owe you isn't it?

3lbs off yippee...I'm kinda disappointed though as I wanted more , being first week back on plan and being 100%, but periods wouldn't have helped that. Still its going down!

That's 3lb less than you weighed last week!! Well done, brill for you all your good work paid off!!

I feel like I've been cheating on this thread cos I was lurking on the other sw thread!!

Huffpot Wed 10-Apr-13 22:52:06

Lol I've been lurking there too!

Huffpot Thu 11-Apr-13 07:48:14

Taking on the 777 challenge this week. 7 days, 7 syns per day and 7 speed foods a day...anyone want to join in?
Our consultant went through it last night and is meant to boost weight loss...worth a shot!
(despite the other thread this still feels more like home grin )

Hi Huff <I posted>

Yes I tried the 777 a few months ago, it definitely helped my weight loss! I'm giving the scanbran a go this week, though I've not a lot left so may have to contact a consultant who lives nearby & buy some off her!

ChocolateBridesmaid Fri 12-Apr-13 07:53:07

Can I start the 777 from Monday, I need to shop and get it all in, plus I need to read my book again as the only speed foods I can remember are strawberries and Turkey.

My week started so well, won appeal in work for job grade and was upgraded with back pay from October, then same day found out there are going to be works going on at my hotel in July, it was a dream holiday and now looks like it will have to be cancelled, OH being a shit about it, and on top of that I feel really fat.

Sorry for you were.

Huffpot Fri 12-Apr-13 15:52:11

If you have probs getting the scan bran Fair I can grab you some in group?

Great about the appeal Choc and crap about the holiday, OH and feeling fat. Moan away!

I'm finding the syns the hardest part of the 777 and think I went over yesterday but today is a new day!
Even baked a lemon cake today with kids and didn't eat any
B: Porridge with apple cinnamon and sweetner. coffee
L: Salad and left over mushroom and ham rissotto. coffee
D: Stirfry with chicken - sauce will be soy sauce and oyster. sauce. WW dessert yoghurt and maybe some sugar free jelly
Syns:tbsp light salad cream(2), options x 2 (4) and 2 sugar free marshmallows in options (1)

ChocolateBridesmaid Fri 12-Apr-13 16:01:38

Huff if you get the 70% ff salad cream you can save yourself a syn, plus it's nice

Oh choc, mixed week for you sweetie xx here's to a better one. My other half is quite often grumpy, I block it out by buying shoes ignoring him smile

Another good day gone!

Huff thanks for the offer! I do attend group & can get scanbran there, but I just dont have enough until Thursday, but my friend who lives nearby has sorted it for me smile you're lovely to offer though xx

Huffpot Sat 13-Apr-13 20:00:41

I shall look for it choc

No bother at all fair...I forgot you were going to a group - Im very ditzy lately.

fair with the 777 does it matter how much speed food it is - ie is 4 strawberries enough to count or does it have to be a certain portion?

I've always just thought a reasonable amount would count. EG: one apple is speed, a chicken fillet is a speed food, a handful of berres/strawberries... yes, that's what I'd say. TBH we never were given guidelines - the book says any food with an S or SS beside it!

I've made the lovely Chicken Kung Pao out of the Asia cook book, beautuiful and filling and so spicy & tasty!

DS opened an Easter egg and although I tasted it, I didn't enjoy it so had a bowl of fruit instead smile

Now to make it through the rest of the night when DH is on the beer & will be bringing out the Tayto soon!

Huffpot Sun 14-Apr-13 17:06:20

Thanks fair...thats very logical!

I hope you survived the taytos...taytos are far too delicious!

That chicken dish sounds gorgeous

We've had our nicest day yet and have done 3 loads of washing(and got it dry!!) plus never ending washing up and cleaning.

B:Porridge with cinnamon, apple and sweetener. Coffee.
L: Pasta with courgette, carrot and a home made tomato sauce
D: No idea yet!
Speed: Apple x 2, courgette, carrot, tomato, onion
Syns: Some cheese on my pasta, an Options

I survived the tayto cos I went to bed smile

However, toddy hasn't been good sad

I had a big Tesco cookie, a bag of chipstix crisps and an just sitting here craving badness!!

No idea what's for dinner here either! Have cooked a chicken but apparently no-one fancies that!!!!

(dh & ds are doing a man thing in eBay, ordering Xbox stuff and headphones etc.. Huh, he has his daddy wound round his wee finger)

Huffpot Sun 14-Apr-13 18:58:44

Bed was a very good avoidance strategy!

We all have bad days sad

I hate when I cook and no-one feels like it! angry

We have just decided on a chicken stirfry.
The babbies are in bed so back to the kitchen I go!

ChocolateBridesmaid Mon 15-Apr-13 09:10:09

Morning Ladies, I did my shopping Saturday in prep for today

B - scrambled egg made with Ff cottage cheese, ff yogurt, half grapefruit and some strawbs

L - pitta with ham, peppers, spring onion and 70% ff salad cream 1 syn follwed by ff yog with more strawbs chopped up inside yog

D - turkey breast cooked on George then added to sauce of passata, tomato puree, red onions and red peppers, served with mangetout and jacket potato (1 syn)

Grapes for snacks.

Totally focused this time round, git 2 weeks till 3 day trip to London so want to lose before I go or the damage will be awful

ChocolateBridesmaid Mon 15-Apr-13 09:14:10

Do I have to have 7 syns? Can it be less?

Hope all your weekends were good smile

Huffpot Tue 16-Apr-13 07:27:37

I presume it can be less but not 100%

Hope everyone is well smile

ChocolateBridesmaid Tue 16-Apr-13 08:52:34

I turned down a huge homemade cookie yesterday... So proud.

Morning all

Got a very long day in work today, which means I am likely to pick at crap. Have brought some pink n whites in to heat up, are they 2.5 syns? If so I can have 2, one is never enough!

It feels good to finally be focused again.

Huffpot Tue 16-Apr-13 09:42:59

Well done choc - its funny how empowering saying no is.

I looked on the app and they are 2.5 syns each.

Forgive me for being foreign but what are they?

I feel so much happier being in control of my eating
I'm hoping this is the time I will finally lose the weight!grin

ChocolateBridesmaid Tue 16-Apr-13 12:28:23

they are wafers (top and bottom) filled with pink and white mallow which are quite carboard ee when eaten straight from the packet, BUT...placed in the microwave for 20 seconds and they turn into gooey gorgeousness hmmmmm cant wait for later now.

Huge test coming up. I am off out to Home Bargains, now bearing in mind every time i go there i buy a mountain of chocolate this is a huge test of willpower to ensure i dont. They have Bubble Bars 5 for £1 sad I think I will have to walk round with eyes closed until i get to the homeware section

ChocolateBridesmaid Tue 16-Apr-13 12:31:28

Huff keep it up being in control is fabulous, you have shifted 3lbs up thread, just keep doing what you are doing because its working. I would like a 3lb loss this week but as i only got back on the horse yesterday i think thats asking a bit much for Thursday!!!

Huffpot Tue 16-Apr-13 16:37:20

Mmmm they sound good...I must get some to try. I lurve marshmallowsgrin

We don't have a home bargains here so I am safe from that temptation! (good price though!)

I need to plan my dinner tomorrow night for after WI. Last week I reverted to old habits and got chicken and chips with DPblush and have felt bad about it all week! Thats never happened before.

Onwards and downwards

Hope you survived work ok choc

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 16-Apr-13 18:51:33

Hi again. Lurking but not keeping up. You three seem to have a good focus and a nice thread going on. How are you all? Any news from kid and bee?

ChocolateBridesmaid Tue 16-Apr-13 20:09:24

I survived work and H&B, I strode past the sweetie aiisle only to find the bastards had put the bubble bars at the till...I was strong though.

Hi Lady/Ria not seen a whisper of Bee or Kid for awhile, I hope they too are lurking along with Slim and the others.

It's nearly bikini weather, even if my holiday doomed I still want a bikini body

Liking this 777 having some great meals which are a bit more inventive than my usual offerings smile

Hello!!!!!! Sorry have been AWOL, dd had her confirmation yesterday & I've been flat out sorting that & cleaning etc!

Anyway, a good night was had & I avoided the breads/cakes etc but had ice cream so hopefully not too much damage done!

Weigh in tomorrow. Need another dress for ds's first holy communion in 2 weeks time.

Huffpot Wed 17-Apr-13 21:35:38

I'm glad you're enjoying 777 choc...and that you avoided the temptation!

Gosh you've been very busy Fair

Weighed in tonight and 2lbs off.
I also came home after weigh in and had a jacket spud, beans and salad while DP had chicken and chips.

Roll on next weeks weigh in!

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 17-Apr-13 22:40:23

congratulations to your DD FHF (if that's the right thing to say), hope you all had a good time.

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 17-Apr-13 22:54:20

and well done huff.

I am stilla heifer (if only Katie Price could spell that properly <farmers daughter ;p>), and too distracted by DH's still ongoing and probably worsening health issues, DS1s exams/college choices, suspiscions that DS3 is dyslexic same as DS1, OU studies and how I feel my life is generally too much to cope with (I know I need a slap, but if I keep making light of it I don't have to face up to it and get proper help - I have been battling this depression thing since I was 18 and I have trouble admitting that it's still a problem now - does that make sense?) to face up to any more than I hate myself. I know I need to skew that feeling to make it work for me.

On the plus side I am hoping to go for a level 1 reiki attunement at the weekend, although if DH gets the opportunity of work my plans will have to take a back seat sad

I am not SW-ing ATM, but I missed "being with" you guys on the thread, and I love following the success of others,so well done all of you.

How are you finding not being a consultant FHF? Do you still find SW easy to follow or have you lost faith after your experience (just being nosey)

Well done huff!!!!!! Good woman yourself!

Thanks lady, dd should be full of love, wisdom, forgiveness & charitable ness now wink

I'm finding it a bit strange having some free time!! I'm relieved to not have all my life taken over with other peoples troubles, but I do miss the social aspect of it. I like people, talking to people & helping them, so I find it a bit strange, but, as yet, I've not had a free night to be bored!!

I believe the plan works, it does for me when I follow it smile it does work for others! My friend joined in October & text me last night to say she'd received her 6.5st award!!

Lady, you're a lovely person, very kind & accepting / if you're struggling get the help you need. I'm open enough to have told you all how I've been at times & sometimes just sharing helps, if not here, the other place is safe x

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 18-Apr-13 16:47:42

Lady sending you big (((( ))))) hugs, just typing out your troubles can help so type away x

Huff...look at you, well done and FHF good call on stepping away from the cake.

I weighed in this morning and have list 2lbs since starting again on Monday, not bad for half a week if I do say so myself!

I had doc appt this morning and after I had the biggest healthiest breakfast but still craved chocolate, so downed a glass of water and left the house before I started raiding the cupboards. Drastic, but needed. Been excellent all day <rubs halo>
Been having between 3 & 6 syns not quite made it to 7 but then again when I do get in the right frame to follow the plan I never have the full allocation anyway. Just 7 more pounds to go to the weight I was when measured for the dress.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 18-Apr-13 19:43:13

thanks guyssmile

have been for a teatime shop and bought the current mag with- --my bottle of wine

the wine will have to stop after today anyway as I need to cleanse before I hopefully go to this reiki attunement on Sunday. Also have to cut back on meat and sugar... (was meant to be doing so all week, but OU work drove me to crappnessblush)

Huffpot Thu 18-Apr-13 20:06:39

I know...I'm surprising myself! Can't wait to get back to my swimming again once the weather is firmly warmer.

Had a very frustrating day as the toddlers nursery application forms said they would hear on or around the 16th of April but nothing so I rang the school and they said they are only sending them out tomorrow agghh. I'm a massive sad sack who needs time to adjust to my babies going out into the big world...I didn't realise they would be in the same year and that I would lose them both at once. Back home in Oz they don't start anything formal until they are 5 so its a big thing for me although most people I know here think I am very strange

I agree with the above comments Lady so vent away...heaven knows we all need that.

Choc that's amazing...well done. You're very good - I normally use at least 10 syns a day so found the cutting to 7 syns a challenge sometimes but easier than I anticipated.

Back to normal for me today and will keep the 777 for alternate weeks I think or when I start to slow down.

B: Eggs on toast with mushrooms and beans and a cuppa
L: Left over superspeed curry which turned out far too watery as I added too much water when I was cooking the cauliflower as DP distracted me and rice
D: No idea yet - had the biryani with prawns planned for dinner but DP was eating his lunch when he got home from work. Not worth cooking it just for me and he's on the phone with a customer now so I don't know what I'm doing. It will be that if he's hungry if not I will maybe make some baked bean lasagne...--am hungry and wish he'd hurry up and stop yapping about structural engineers--

Huffpot Thu 18-Apr-13 22:06:56

Grrr am about to slap DP up the side of the head. He has decided to lecture me about having a mug of warm milk before bed(10pm) because I fancy something warm and have the syns for it, instead of a coffee. I explained I'd be up peeing all night.
He has now told me this is where I'm going wrong and I should have less syns and eat less. He doesn't understand I can eat what I'm eating
Men angry

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 19-Apr-13 08:13:45

grrr at your DP Huff. MEN!!! My H was arsey with me last night because the oven door handle came off when I was getting the kids tea out. I wouldn't mind but he was stood there when it "just happened", so obviously I hadn't been at it with a hacksaw or anything... (and he dropped the door of the new fridge on my finger while I was helping him put it back on - right index finger too. painful typing)

banana and cup of tea so far today. have "red beans and rice" for lunch, which is rice, kidney beans, fennel and tomatoes with cayenne pepper. Is very nice. Not sure about tonight. DH is starting another new job tonight. I have lost count of the number of jobs he has turned up for his first shift and he hasn't been required since I was last on the thread regularly. It's very stressful. Also, can't use the oven until the door is fixed...

still have to shop too, and have missed my delivery slot.

Hi there

Huff, dh maybe just doesn't understand? Before dh read my books (before joining a group) he used to look at me daft when I piled my plate with potatoes etc! He may just need educated wink

I lost 5.5lb this week - but I'd a huge gain last week so am not rejoicing!!

Had a good day today! An Out for dinner tomorrow night do will try & choose healthily smile

Huffpot Sat 20-Apr-13 20:25:13

I know but a different story if it happens to them!

lady How did DH's work go?

I think you're right fair but he won't sit and read the books so I'll just have to prove his little theory wrong!!!!
I hate that its made me feel self conscious eating in front of him though because I've never felt like that sad

Both my babies got their acceptance letter for nursery this morning so will be sending them off in September - I cried when I opened them which set DP off as well- pair of saddos that we are!

Finally got some lovely new trainers which fit my orthotics - my old ones were in tatters so can't wait to get out for a walk grin

Then we had a birthday party for the boys cousin with a boincy castle. I declined soft drink as it wasnt diet and avoided the wine. I had some salad and chicken and peppers on a stick so very good

And choc....I tried the pink and whites in the microwave - I am now addicted! (they are in the 99p shop as well - a pack of 14!l grin

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 21-Apr-13 09:38:23

Hahahaha I knew you would love them!

Re your husband commenting on your food, I've had this from my OH, I just pointed to each item on the plate stating syn free over and over again and told him to take a walk (Piss off) with any negative comments.

FHF hope you get that oven door sorted asap you are missing out on your syn free chips hmmmmmm

When I get out of bed I shall have a grapefruit, ff yogurt and scrambled egg made with ff cottage cheese I might even throw in a ff sausage.

Huffpot Sun 21-Apr-13 17:31:46

Am totally addicted - the first few bites were odd and then heavenly....Must go and stock up wink

Yup I think I'll have to do the same with DP - grrr he just made me so cross

Wasn't it a lovely day today? grin

ladyarwenevenstar Sun 21-Apr-13 18:08:29

and againangry turned out they had "forgotten to mention" at interview that they expected him to work on a self-employed basis (which I know is not a big deal, but DH hasn't ever been self-employed, so we wouldn't know where to start, and it was down to not being honest with him, because goodness only knows what else might have happened). Another interview tomorrow and one on Tuesday, so keeping positive.

On the plus side, yesterday was a ^perfect" SW day, and veggie too, as I read I needed to cut down on meat for my reiki (OK, so I only managed one veggie day out of the weekblush), and today has been good so far, apart from the digestive I had during the teabreak.

I don't feel like I've had a massive change with the attunement, but apparently I will feel it when it hits mehmm. I do feel pretty tired and less bogged down by negative stuff though. The reiki master told me I need to drink loads more water with citrus in, and that I am mineral deficient. (I will be sleep deficient tonight with all the trips to the loo!)

Had a huge fruit salad for breakfast, chicken salad sandwich and FF yogurt for lunch (at 4pm), rice and veg and an apple since then, and am planning pork steak and SW chips and loads of veg later.

Hope you've all had a great weekendsmile

Huffpot Tue 23-Apr-13 14:29:15

Aghhh I responded here ages ago but for some reason its gone! angry

lady thats pure crap about the work. Its a wonder its even legal

The reiki sounds interesting smile

I'm thinking about going back to work when the boys start school and becoming a health care assistant and possibly nursing from there but thats next year.

B: 2 x toast and jam
L: Salad and pasta
D: Pizza topped chicken, salad and wedges

ChocolateBridesmaid Tue 23-Apr-13 16:03:19

B - strawberries, ff yogurt, boiled egg
L- usual pitta with salad and strawbs
D - turkey steak, mangetout, sugar snap peas, jacket with cheese and passatta mixed with red onion, courgettes and peppers.

Snack so far melted pink and white.

Four desks away from me on the treat desk sits a huge box of Thorntons chocolates, a large box of ferrero Roche. 2 gold foiled medium Easter eggs and the contents of 2 roses Easter eggs.

I don't know how much longer I can resist...its been a tough 2 days sad

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 23-Apr-13 17:06:24

oh pants!
I was SO good Saturday and yesterday (small slip on Sunday night, but nothing to worry abouthmm), but I have taken a tumble from the wagon this afternoon.

Huffpot Tue 23-Apr-13 22:13:27

choc...if you give in you'll just feel guilty and worse. Anything else you can shove in your mouth to distract you and fill you up? An options? Make some low syn choc truffles to have instead?
I'm glad I don't work at times like this because I can avoid those situations

lady tomorrow is another day!

WI tomorrow...time to see if not having crappy food weigh in night has paid off!

All the best for weigh in Huff!!

Choc, you know eating the rubbish won't do you any favours, it will just annoy you & make you feel guilty afterwards - same as it does me!!

I've had 3 meals out this weekend, am trying to be as good as I can be on the other days - even a maintain would be good this week though!!

Lady, what happened this afternoon? If you count up the syns it may not be as bad as you think.

Have spent evening job hunting.. :/

Huffpot Wed 24-Apr-13 08:14:23

Thanks fair smile

Hopefully I'll hit my half stone and first shiny sticker

Any luck with the job hunting?

Another lovely day here today smile

Off to a music group with the toddling terrors today but will walk to Asda first I think then can come home straight after. They don't sit still for the group though so am debating stopping going...its just such lovely people that run it and they let you have coffee that I'll miss it

B: Porridge, apple, banana and a cuppa
L: Salad with chicken and pasta
D: Jacket potato with chilli con carne and salad
Syns: Prob an options and a biscuit at group or I might have a crunchie tonight (9 syns)

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 24-Apr-13 14:06:34

I had some baguette and cover lighter and come crisps. BUT, I then had an early night so didn't have wine or another meal. Anyhow,

first WI = 2lb gone, so I'm happy with that.

I am having a hungry, snacky sort of day, and I'm going to let myself have pizza this evening, and when I get back on-plan tomorrow I am going to use my syns more wisely (as in, have something "treaty" at the end of the day)

how was the job-hunting fair? me too. I am going to have to do something, but I have this niggly feeling that if I leave then they've won. (feeling more crappy today because I've had to leave my baby at school feeling poorly when I came home, and I couldn't give him a hug or anything because "things would be said" <sigh>. Can't wait for 3.15)

Huffpot Wed 24-Apr-13 14:41:10

Thats not too bad lady - my wagon fall offs are far, far worse than that!
That must have been so hard for you not to hug if your little one was poorly sad

I find sometimes if I crave something evil I have a bite and realise its not as good as I imagined or worth the syns and am able to leave it (have to throw it out though so I don't mindlessly finish it though.

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 24-Apr-13 17:11:04

gah! my typing. serves me right for cheating in my typing exams all those years agowink

feeling a bit shit todaysad DH is waiting for a phonecall from a job he really wants. (and waiting for about 4 weeks worth of ESA toohmm)

Huffpot Wed 24-Apr-13 18:46:04

Ha! I'm a touch typist...doesn't help me though as I'm on my phone all the time!

Fingers, toes, eyes, legs crossed he gets it lady

Huffpot Wed 24-Apr-13 20:56:53

4.5lbs off tonight so got my half slimmer of the week AND slimmer of the month!
3 sparklies in one hit grin

Oh wow huff!!!! A hat trick of awards!! Excellent!!! Oh I'm delighted for you!!!

What a fab loss! You too lady! smile

I've a feeling I'll maintain at group this evening - hasn't been a great week & I'm all bloated - just hope it's not a gain!

Lady, hope dh hears & stuff who said what, I'd have hugged my poorly child. No, no joy on the job front yet, haven't even had any acknowkedgements that they received applications or CVs.

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 25-Apr-13 08:13:03

yay huff grin

I am back to it today, although I didn't have my pizza and wine blow out evening as planned (as in, with DH watching T), I had a couple of slices of the DCs pizza at teatime, and 2 small glasses of wine. I went to bed early again.

bubble and squeak and bacon for breakfast smile

Huffpot Thu 25-Apr-13 09:18:47

Thank you - very proud of myself grin

And lady am proud of you for resisting a blow out too

Mmm haven't had bubble and squeak for years!

B: Eggs on toast with beans, mushrooms and peppers for me
L: Not 100% but maybe quiche and salad
D: I'm thinking chicken marinated in soy sauce and
garlic and egg fried rice

Anzac day today so will make some Anzac biscuits for everyone and try and resist them! They are far too moreish

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 25-Apr-13 09:30:32

mmm, good idea huff - we have no biscuits in so I could make some later.

Huffpot Thu 25-Apr-13 11:06:16

Everyone loves them here - quick, easy and yummy.
Might make some damper for the little ones lunch too smile

Hiya, can someone explain to the thick Irish doll, what's Damper & Anzac?

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 25-Apr-13 15:37:43

isn't damper campfire cooking? I'm sure I've heard of damper bread. And ANZAC is ANZAC Day which remembers Australian and New Zealand forces in WII. I think it is an anniversary of a battle where a lot of them died? (I hope I'm right huff).

It was biscuits for pud at work today and I asked the cook if they were Anzac biscuits. She looked at me like I'd asked if they were made from pureed dog!

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 25-Apr-13 15:38:23

Oh that's interesting!! I didn't know that.

I lost half lb tonight! Happy with that but will keep going!! Have bought a new dress for holy comm next wk (will maybe post it on the pg to see what you think?). Anyway I can't afford to gain a lb in it!!!!

Huffpot Thu 25-Apr-13 19:00:24

Its celebrated in Oz and New Zealand and its on the 25th April as thats when the troops landed on the beach at Gallipoli and it was basically a blood bath. Its in honour of all our service men and women who sacrifice for our country.
My boys have learnt "at the going down of the sun and in the morning we shall remember them - lest we forget" today and we listened to the last post on youtube at bedtime.
When they are older I shall take them into a dawn service in Central London

lady is right about damper - lovely, easy and delicious and traditionally cooked on a campfire and the biscuits are made from rolled oats, coconut and golden syrup.

fair don't be silly - you're not thick at all - I don't know the half of what goes on around the world!

Half a pound is good - any loss is a positive! Would love to see pic of the dress smile

Hedgepig Thu 25-Apr-13 21:48:48

Are you lot talking about biscuits??? grin evening just plonking my lardy arse down

Huffpot Fri 26-Apr-13 06:52:35

Yup biscuits mmmm biscuit
is delighted to see Hedge and looks forward to her apparently lardy arse shrinking now she's back

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 26-Apr-13 08:34:04

yay hedge, welcome back to the mad house fold.

I thought that was the one huff, I just couldn't spell it. (When we aren't channelling Middle Earth, DS1 is stuck in 1939 hmm). I have always taken my boys to the War Memorial on Remembrance Day, though we don't often go to the church bit, I think it's important that they understand.

Hedgepig Fri 26-Apr-13 09:39:52

Good start to the day for me Melon, strawb and FF yog, lets see if I can keep it upgrin

I have a bite on my leg from running the other evening I have a doctors appointment at 11.30 to get something to reduce the swelling (my ankle is puffing up hmm).

Huffpot Fri 26-Apr-13 09:41:28

I think its nice for them. I normally went to the dawn service before kids and then drank from 5.30am till I was sober again and it's very emotional. I'm anti war but those that died should be remembered

B: Eggs, beans, mushrooms, onions and toast
L: No idea as going to walk to a playgroup miles away then come home via the boys nursery to drop off their acceptance forms
D: Similarily clueless!

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 26-Apr-13 16:28:10

Hi again guys.

Lovely dress FHF.

Nice to see a bit of chat in the other place toosmile

this is going to sound a bit melodramatic, but I had a bit of a lightbulb moment this morning - felt crap so drove down to the sea, and as I was sat there I got a bit teary and thought, either I get out of the car and walk into the sea, or drive back and went to the GP for help. Am still here, have citalopram and 2 weeks off work, and am feeling pretty fragile and wrung out, but it's a step in the right direction I think. Have never cried in GPs room beforeblush, but he was actually lovely.

Huffpot Fri 26-Apr-13 16:34:01

Depression is an awful thing lady. My dad suffered for years before he got the courage to get help. When he was depressed he would get very angry and smash things and turn on all the lights in the middle of the night if someone flushed the loo to wake everyone up (I still have trouble flushing the toilet through the night at 35!)
The difference in him with the medication is amazing.

I think seeking help is a very hard thing to do and I am very, very proud of you *huge enormous gigantic hugs*thanks

Sweetheart, that was a very very brave thing to do this morning, I'm very proud of you. As you know, I've been there, I know what it's like, well done for asking for and taking the GPs advice.

I'm having a night off. Dh has been on nights for so long now, we're sharing a bottle of wine!!

ChocolateBridesmaid Sat 27-Apr-13 08:31:15

Sorry, sorry, sorry, didn't have time to post my results on Thursday as was heading down to London with my sisters, DM and Dsil...having a fab time.

Anyway weigh in lost 3lb total of 5lb off since doing the 777, happy with that. Sorry not read thread up to date, will catch up properly when I am back home. Oooh can I just ask that you have your fingers crossed tomorrow for my DD as she has her Karate competition tomorrow , cheers

Have a great weekend smile

ladyarwenevenstar Sat 27-Apr-13 11:26:44

thanks guys. I have been like this nearly all my adult life, and I've had enough now. Feeling shit today, wrapped up in a blanket just now, and have a stinking cold too. Keep moving forward.

good luck, chocolatekarate kid smile

Huffpot Sun 28-Apr-13 11:29:14

Well done on WI choc and hoping DD aces today

Lady hope the cold is easing up

I'm off out with the girls tonight and have already looked at the menu to pick my food and am thinking will avoid wine/alcohol altogether as its just not worth the syns smile

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 28-Apr-13 23:46:48

Quick update: my DD did brilliantly, 1st in Kumite (sparring) and Second in her individual Kata so proud. Nationals are in three weeks so I will be a nervous wreck again then.

Food wise, been very bad as since Thursday as I have been in London and not stuck to plan. Doing my shopping tomorrow so will be getting back on track by Monday eve (can't do shop till after work) hopefully all the chocolate will be gone in work tomorrow smile

Hedgepig Mon 29-Apr-13 07:26:38

Well done to your DD, Chocolate and the reasonable eating while away.

My w/e has been patchy grin. As soon as I have a sniff of wine the old will power disappears! I know the answer is to stop wine.

Lady how are you feeling today ? I am very impressed with you taking the plunge and speaking to the Dr, it's a big step and you have been brave (((hugs)))

Huffpot Tue 30-Apr-13 19:17:12

Hooray for DD choc!

Off into the city Moorefields tomorrow for DS's electrodiagnostic tests. Am hoping he's not too difficult through it as he's only 3 but they should handle it well as its the paedatric department there. Am trying to plan out my food as his appointment is at 1.30 and will take about an hour to get there so will leave super early as don't want to be late. I think I'll save my HEB and bring a ham salad sandwich and fruit smile
WI tomorrow and hopefully a loss to get me closer to my stone

Asda have frylight for £1.98 if anyone needs to stock up

B: Beans on toast and cuppa (orange before)
L: Mushy pea curry and rice (loads of mangetout before)
D: Pork chops, mash and green beans

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 30-Apr-13 23:04:18

good luck huff, I don't understand what that is, but hope it goes well for you and DS.

Will be WI-ing tomorrow, and hope to get back into the SW routine. I had a lovely walk this evening (barring my children trying to kill each other), and it felt good to be out and active. I have inadvertently bought some "toning" trainers (bought from a charity shop because I thought they had orthotic support - which they have, but they are also for toning. Quite knackering walking in them!)

Huffpot Wed 01-May-13 06:40:03

Thanks lady. They think he has glaucoma or megacornea but not sure which one which is what the tests are for. He's going to have sensors put either side of his eyes and one in his head and a wire running in front of his eyes.
He's delighted we're going on the train and that he's going alone with me and leaving his brother at home!

Oh they would make your muscles ache as they make your body move differently

Good luck with WI!

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 01-May-13 13:20:33

good luck huff, it sounds like he's looking at it as an adventure, which should make it easier. hope you get good news.

WI FAB! -2lb on the Wii (although silly MFP says -0.6kg confused but hey, the Wii rules wink). I have just checked back on MFP and I have lost 15lb since the beginning of December last yearsmile AND if I bag a loss next week, I will be in the next stone bracket for the first time since 2011!!!!

Huffpot Wed 01-May-13 13:32:03

Thats brilliant lady!
You should be very proud of yourself grin

Sorry sorry sorry, I missed the posts the last few days.

I've not been on the wagon this week, but hopefully after Saturday things will be less hectic here.

Dh is decorating at the min & it's the kitchen so we're limited to what we can cook!! (mostly been wheaten & soda bread blush)

Huffpot Wed 01-May-13 20:43:52

Mmm soda bread fair

1lb off tonight so 10.5lbs in total
I would have liked a titch more though to crack into the 16 stone bracket though...always next week!

Huffpot Sat 04-May-13 17:30:02

Very quiet in here...

Hope everyone is ok smile

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 07-May-13 00:21:14

hi. just checking in.

had a hmm few days. Not been eating much (due to meds I suppose). DH went away on a temping job on Thurs, but came home late Saturday night for days off, was meant to be going back early tomorrow, but now is not going back til Saturday. It's good he has work, but the uncertaintly doesn't do me any good mentally. Please keep fingers crossed that something comes up at home before then so he doesn't have to go back and we can get some kind of routine going at home...

had a lovely day out today though, and it's been SO hot. I went out in my new favourite outfit (skinny jeans and jumper dress with long-sleeved top under, and my lovely blue shoes) and I nearly overheated to death! (I hate it when my feet are too hot) Should have been in cropped trousers, flip flops and a summery top. Have eaten too much today too.

Huffpot Tue 07-May-13 18:08:46

Its good you're eating again today. Hopefully as your body adjusts to the meds your appetite will level out

I hope a routine and work close to home comes smile

Isnt the weather lovely at the moment? I'm loving putting the beasts in shorts.

Ahhh I'm still stuck in leggings as my jeans won't fit me till I lose the rest of this baby weight!
Hopefully more off at WI tomorrow night!

HELP as I'm just eating myself into a frenzy here. Feel like I'm drowning & I'm not helping myself at all.

DH is on nights at the min and as soon as he goes out the door I delve into the biscuit cupboard. I feel like my confidence has all but deserted me and I'm feeling like there's a black cloud above me once again. Feels shit and the extra weight isn't helping.

I won't make it to group this week as I've a long standing arrangement with a friend to mind her wee ones all day (after I finish work) and I won't get to another class.

Have been applying for more jobs this afternoon and am sick, sore and tired getting no responses.

I'm reasonably intelligent, I think I'm employable, however obviously the companies I'm applying to don't think I'm even worthy of a reply.

I weighed myself this morning - it's not pretty. I need a good shake as the number on the scales didn't scare me enough into taking back control!!

Kick me someone... and maybe tomorrow I'll dig out a food diary and get knuckled down for a week!

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 07-May-13 21:16:11

had an awful day today. no reason, just feeling shitey shite. One day at a time I suppose.

does anyone know the syn value of asda turkey and tomato sausages. Have just got them up on recommendations through an email, and I fancy a change. Also low fat red pepper houmous?

Set my mum an account on MFP today! She is chuffed because she has enough calories left for 2 glasses of red tonightwink

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 07-May-13 21:23:08

No way am I kicking you FHF! You need a <hug>.

Applying for jobs is a soul-destroying business. Try and look at it that you are too good for them because they are too ignorant to even reply to you, so you wouldn't want to work for them anyway.

Can you find something - just one thing - to have for your comfort treat when your H goes to work, so you can savour it and enjoy it, and keep out of the biscuit tin?

Can you take yours and your friends kiddies out to a park and get some "green therapy" and a bit of activity in too?

You look fab in that photo of your flowery dress, don't be too hard on yourself <hug>

The Humous is 1.5 sun oer lebel tbsp. I can't find the sausages - are they new?

I'm seriously considering this 5:2 thing blush

We keep cross posting Lady!!

Yes, I'll take the kids out, though if she leaves all 3 of them I won't have room in the car, but the older two and mine can play outside anyway. I live in the country, but also on a busy main road if that makes any sense at all!! We're up a long lane away from the road, but also rules out cycling or walking unless through rough terrain through sheep and cows grin

I also get what you're saying about changing my school of thought re: companies I've applied to - easier said than done but will try!!

re: treat, I've just thrown half a wheaten in the bin as I'd have sliced it, buttered it and jammed it up & ate it. DH will come in looking for some to tast for his breakfast and I'll have to say it was stale - not that my willpower abandoned me!! blush

I've a food diary sitting here for the morning and am for my bed very soon!!

Thanks for the hugs, some days I just lose all perspective. Thanks for saying I looked nice in the dress - but I felt like a heap on Saturday and felt like I had been shoe horned into it. My MIL never even said I looked nice (despite everyone else saying I did it still rankled that she didn't)

ladyarwenevenstar Tue 07-May-13 21:41:09

I am due to WI on the Wii tomorrow, and will try a bit harder to eat better. I want to keep losing.

5:2 is OK, I had a go and managed fine with it, but I don't think I really lost weight. But if you look at it from a SW point of view, isn't it really like having your weekly syns in a whole lump and spreading them over 2 days, with 5 strict free food days? You're an inspiration FHF, and have achieved a fantastic loss, plus helped loads of others here and when you were a consultant. Everyone has a little slip-up from time to time, and you are one of the most focussed SW followers I know, you'll get a handle on it again.

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 08-May-13 12:12:01

another 3lb gone and into the next stone bracketsmile

Huffpot Wed 08-May-13 13:36:53

Awww Fair I agree with lady
You will get your head straight and back on track
And you did look lovely in your dress - you're only a titch aren't you? smile

Woohoo! Thats excellent lady. Great loss - I hope I've lost as well tonight

I should as haven't been bad - I actually don't dread getting on the scales at the moment anyway grin

Aw Lady you're just lovely, you too huff xoxoxo

Well done on that brilliant loss Lady!! That's focused me that has!!

I had a friend here today & had a wee apple pie but that's nothing compared to other days smile

Good luck at WI huff.

You're both right - I need to get the SW head back on before it drives me nuts!

Huffpot Wed 08-May-13 21:36:00

As long as we cheered you up a bit fair smile

Ahhh WI tonight sad 0.5lbs on
Really wasn't expecting it but still have purchased scanbran and will fix my SW head firmly on for the coming week

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 09-May-13 17:19:24

that made me chuckle FHF, that my loss has focussed you. If only I could take the credit for it. I am not looking forward to when this particular bit of AD trickery ends and my appetite comes back (although I will be glad not to be feeling so shite with the other side effects) but hopefully the loss I've had to date will keep me on the straight and narrow.

I have another 2 week sick note, so will have 2 days work before the half term break.

Huffpot Sat 11-May-13 16:25:19

A loss is a loss lady!
Agree it will be much nicer for you when it all settles down though

Am trying to be much more careful with syns this week but am struggling a bit as my gynaecology appointment for results is next week so its brought up the sadness again sad Hopefully we can get some answers and some closure

Am scan branning it this week too so hopefully that will make a difference.
I'm having it topped with 0% total greek yoghurt with vanilla and sweetener in it and sliced banana - much more palatable

B: Apple and cuppa (early start to get up to Asda/Lidl as big match on at Wembley today)
L: 4 scan bran as above, apple and cuppa
D: Roast chicken and veg

Snacking on mangetout now as its cooking

Huff, am sure this week will be hard on you and your dh. I think of you all the time.

I bit the bullet & got weighed on Thursday! Gained 4lb but that was nothing compared to what it could have been.

I thought getting weighed would focus me, but it hasn't really. Saying that, I'd a meal out last night and birthday cake etc but am on plan today!! Have had a banana for breakfast, need to go to the shops for something for dinner!

Huffpot Mon 13-May-13 17:27:13

Hope you're back on track Fair
Its so easy to get side tracked isn't it?

Am still scan branning and trying to stay under 7 syns a day

Am out for the day at Kew Gardens then dinner out with the girls, a Holy Communion and lunch out Saturday followed by a birthday party and my cousin is coming over from Ireland next Tuesday and we're off to the theatre Tuesday night, dinner then a few drinks in Soho.
WI next week may not be pretty!!

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 15-May-13 10:30:51

just checking in. DH has had the laptop with him at his temping job, and the desktop is TOOOOO SLOOOW. He is taking it again when he goes back on THursday so I might not be about much.

Anyhow, 4lb loss this week grin.

Huffpot Wed 15-May-13 16:52:53

Woohoo lady! Well done

Am off to WI soon.

All my tests came back negative for baby so they don't know what happened and it was a little girl which was what we wanted so a bit sad here tonight

Huffpot Wed 15-May-13 20:56:56

2.5lbs off tonight so 12.5lbs in total now
Would love to hit the stone next week but not going to happen as having a social life for once and eating out 4 times plus having my first drinks in over 6 months grin

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 15-May-13 22:00:40

ah huff, I don't know what to say sad Much love to you all and your special angel though. I have been incredibly blessed and lucky with my "horrors", but my gran, mum and eldest sister all would feel your pain.

I hope you enjoy your sociable week though, sounds fab smile don't drink too much wink

I had wine last night - I had spent 2 whole fecking days mucking out DS1s bedroom (hoarder... and I haven't finished yet) - so I felt like I deserved it! But I have felt like shit all day. Am having some tonight too as DH is going back to work tomorrow. So I'll feel like shit tomorrow too, but hey... there's a reason they tell you not to drink with ADs. But I have cut it back HUGELY, and don't miss it, so that's a good thing.

We have a family party at the weekend (mum's cousin is coming up to her "hometown" to a holiday cottage and having an anniversary party). TBH I am dreading it as it won't be "right" without my uncle sad.

I also have the second part of my reiki 1 this week. I am a bit hmm about it as I am wondering if that's why I've had the "depression epiphany". I have also decided to defer my OU studies today. I will hopefully start again in October, but the pressure is too much for me as I am feeling just now (and DS1 needs me more than ever to get through his GCSEs - he is dyslexic and has the organisational abilities of a lego brick<despair>)

oops, sorry for rambling blush

Oh Huff. I'm sorry your results offered no explanation. You don't have to share, but have you given your wee flower a name? I know from experience with my sister and my sister in law, having a name to think of and talk to comforts them.

Now is maybe not the right time, but after all my sister went through losing one of her twins, she had a baby girl today. They're both doing well xx

Lady, am glad you're feeling positive about the deferral, your head will be in a better place this time next year & you'll be more ready for it. I didn't realise Reiki would effect you in a negative way.

I weighed on this morning. Lost half lb. tomorrow will be a new start.

Well done on your loss Huff xxxx

ChocolateBridesmaid Fri 17-May-13 07:01:51

Oh my word I have been AWOL for three weeks!

I have been weighing myself and it has been yo yoing up and down but staying round where I need it to stay for now.

Huff I am sorry that you didn't get any answers, it's just not fair sweetheart , I hope you are ok (hugs)

Huffpot Fri 17-May-13 17:03:30

lady will be thinking of you this weekend and ramble away!

Huge congrats to your sister Fair grin

Thank you all for your lovely wordssmile
Was a bit upset when I found out it was a girl but ok now. fair we probably won't name her as we call her dragonbaby which was the boys name for her. We have her buried at home and have a little grave for her with a stone heart and a rose bush either side. DP is going to make her a little trellis arch for the roses to grow over her grave which will be pretty.
Its nice to know theres nothing wrong with me but it would have been nice to have a definite reason.
We've been told to try again whenever we want and if/when I fall again I can have an extra scan but will still be a nervous wreck.

I got a bit sad last week when a lady brought her newborn in but not in a bad way if that makes sense?

(hows that for rambling lady?)

Off out to an indian/chinese resteraunt for dinner with some of the girls tonight grin

Huffpot Thu 23-May-13 07:22:34

4lbs on this week but fully expected and deserved with what I've been eating!
Back on plan as of today! And I bought a 12 week countdown as well smile

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 23-May-13 09:38:50

3lb on for me huff, also deserved and expected, and probably "hormonal" too. Back at GP tomorrow to get signed back to work after the hols, and feeling pretty down again sad (and comfort eating to prove it. could kill for cold chinese takeaway this morningblush)

DH lost 11lb this week, by eating pie and chips, fish and chips, scampi and chips (etc) and working 12-14 hour days. I hate him wink

I am going away with the boys and my parents for a few days on Sunday, so I'll get back on plan when we get home.

Huffpot Fri 24-May-13 15:07:58

Comfort eating is the pits and so hard to stop lady
Enjoy your few days away and don't even worry about SW for now wine

Am back on track here again - got my bloody periods again though so have Dr's appointment on 17th June as I don't think the pill I'm on is agreeing with me. This is my 3rd or 4th period in not even 2 months grrr

B: 4 scan bran with 0% greek yoghurt topped with banana
L: cous cous with cucumber and tomato and coriander and a cuppa. Had an apple, 2 satsumas and a banana before on the walk home as was so hungry I could have eaten a scabby child!
D: WW sausages with mash, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and some gravy.

Its too cold for salad!!

Huffpot Mon 27-May-13 06:50:07

The weather has changed hasn't it? Am going for a walk to buy some salad once the toddling terrors wake up.

Have also woken with a very sore throat - any ideas of syn free/low syn remedies?

Have been back on track since Thursday - hopefully some of my 4lb gain will come off at WI. Have been struggling a bit with superfree though.
Am also having scan bran on alternate days as I think a full week is too much for my body (I end up awake and in the toilet in the middle of the night)

Isn't the weather lovely? Toddling terrors (nearly 3 &4 so I probably shouldn't call them that for much longer!) have been playing outside in the garden all day helping daddy who is putting in a path and getting soaked with water.

Am up early as throat is sore and its the only bit of solitude I get all day - am thinking I should sneak off for a walk if this continues on a daily basis

I made diet coke chicken for dinner the other night and it was AMAZING! You fry up peppers and onion then put them in a bowl. Then fry diced chicken with salt and pepper till sealed, chuck the onions and pepper back in, add a tin of diet coke, some passata or tomato puree and chinese 5 spice. Cook until thickened (which can take a while). Will definitely be making this regularly.

B: Porridge with apple
L: Jacket potato and salad and beans
D: Chicken legs marinated in garlic, soy sauce and maybe a little honey with home made fried rice and salad

Huffpot Thu 30-May-13 10:53:34

3lb off last night...I need 2.5lbs off next week to hit the stone!

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 30-May-13 19:04:33

Well done to all those with losses.

Wedding tomorrow, then I can 're start on the plan, been terrified of losing too much after being measured for the bridesmaid dress. Fingers crossed weather stays nice smile

Huffpot Thu 30-May-13 19:21:04

Hope its lovely wedding weather choc and looking forward to having company on here wink

ladyarwenevenstar Thu 30-May-13 20:49:11

good luck with wedding choc.

yay for loss huff, may try that chicken. No WI for me as only back from holidays this evening. Have been eating though. Feeling pretty shite still, and very "nervy" today for varying reasons. might WI to assess the damage tomorrowhmm

Huffpot Wed 05-Jun-13 20:51:26

Did you brave the scales lady?

1lb off here so 12.5lbs in total since restarting smile

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 05-Jun-13 21:50:40

WI tomorrow this week, it won't be pretty.

My mum has been diagnosed with high blood pressure tonight, put on meds and has to have blood tests and an ECG sad. She is so fit and healthy though, so I suppose I'd better take her advice and get myself sorted out.

Huffpot Thu 06-Jun-13 12:55:21

Pretty or not if you face it ypu know what needs to be done! Maybe it won't be as bad as you think? hopeful face

Blood pressure can really affect you when its not right so hopefully the meds will help your mum smile

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 06-Jun-13 14:36:30

Didnt have time this morning to weigh in so will do so tomorrow morning, i am expecting a huge gain. 7 weeks till holiday so 7 weeks to get this belly to an acceptable size again.

Going to do the 777 again to kick start me back onto the plan, i enjoyed doing it last time and the results were very nice too.

Hope you all ok.

New Plan

1. Stay out of Home & Bargain
2. eat and share out the mini crunchies in my top drawer in work as quickly as possible and DO NOT GO BACK TO H&B TO REPLENISH.
3. 777 plan is my new God.
4. ask Huff to yell at me when i am clearly cheating.
5. remember my body has not been built for a bikini for 15 years so i have to work at it.
6. stay away from the cheese.

Feel free to add your own steps grin

Huffpot Fri 07-Jun-13 08:42:55

Hope the WI goes well today choc

We don't have a Home Bargains near to here so no temptation phew

Wow I get to yell at someone other than tiny men excited

1.5lbs to my stone award...surely I can do that this week???

B: 4 scan bran topped with 0% greek yoghurt and banana
L: Chicken salad with pasta and 70%ff salad cream
D: Am thinking pizza topped chicken with more salad and wedges and maybe even some smash garlic breadgrin

ChocolateBridesmaid Fri 07-Jun-13 12:24:52

Go for it Huff I damn well need it only 4 more crunchies left in my drawer, mini ones mind

Well I weighed in and I am the same weight as I was last Saturday which is 4lbs more than I was the week before the wedding, however if you look at my lowest weight then I am 10lbs over that blush

Now you be good and shift that last bit, so glad you do not have a H&B it is a nightmare to resist!!!

Huffpot Fri 07-Jun-13 14:36:31

How many syns are the mini crunchies? The full size ones are only about 9 syns I think

I kind of wish we did have one near as they seem to have loads of good stuff

It could have been worse then choc

Syn the crunchies and crack on!

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 07-Jun-13 22:53:31

I haven't weighed in yet. But I will.

Mum bought a blood pressure machine on the advice of the GP, and it has been almost normal ever since. Hopefully that will make her worry less, as she is certainly the most fit and healthy person I know (apart from my dad). It would be nice if she was normal next time she goes for a check up - just to set her mind at rest. Sadly, another uncle has passed away today (relation by marriage) which is just going to bring the whole illness/mortality thing back to the forefront of their minds sad

has anyone tried chocolate flavoured tea? it's in a mag from 2012/11 and apparently is syn-free?

looking forward to a nice family weekend here (again, although this one shouldn't involve the food we had last weekend at the golden wedding BBQ). Hope you all have a good weekend too smile

Huffpot Sat 08-Jun-13 09:00:12

Thats good news about your mum lady and sorry for your loss

Nice quiet weekend here as usual

1lb on and a very well deserved pound...had 2 takeaways blush

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 12-Jun-13 22:09:34

Never mind huff, at least you know why. Hope you enjoyed the takeaways.

I AM going to WI tomorrow or Friday (I have had an awkward couple of mornings involving mending trousers before school, and toe-nail cutting etc, which has upset my normal routine of "fly by the seat of my pants and arrive at school just in time for the whistle", also the whole "bathroom routine" has been completely upset by DS1 no longer having to go to school on the bus every day.hmm) I know I need to WI and take action though, my body is telling me it needs less crap and more water, and I need to get back on my ADS too (slipped a bit since my holidays). I am feeling pathetic and weepy tonight sad

ah, woe is me wink

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 12-Jun-13 22:19:13

DH missed out on a job today that he would have really liked too sad, but at least they let him know, and hopefully he is starting a new job on Saturday (fingers crossed). He was meant to have his first shift somewhere else last night, but they sent a text to say he wasn't required (he was going to try 2 part-time jobs just so he is working - he failed/passed his medical assessment - they recognise he has a "disability", but he didn't score enough points to be exempt from workinghmm our GP won't be happy)

Can I come back?

Hope everyone is well?

I've been flat out recently with taking on some other part time jobs on my half days & days off.

Am so tired I can barely stay awake yet by the time my head hits pillow I am wide awake.

Weight loss this week -3 but had +5 on last week.....

Sorry to hear dh missed out lady.

I got a dear John myself yesterday from the interview I totally messed up last week!!!!

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 13-Jun-13 19:35:09

Well Huff that pound you gained must have come from me as miracles do happen, yes I lost a lb wooo.

However if you could see my kitchen you will know next week is a gain. I have scones posh ones, clotted cream and jam, cakes even a cake on top of a cake, garlic bread, pate, every imaginable bar of chocolate and sausage rolls amongst a lot of other unhealthy foods...yes it's DD s birthday weekend, sleepover Sat night then whole family down Sunday.

I have booked Monday off.

ChocolateBridesmaid Thu 13-Jun-13 19:36:17

FHF spray some lavender scent on your pillow it might help you sleep.

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 14-Jun-13 00:21:10

huge <hug> to FHF. Welcome back sweetheart, have been missing you. Glad you have found some extra work, but sad you are shattered. Agree wit choc about lavender oil, you could try a couple of drops in a warm bath, or rubbed on the soles of your feet before bed. I always find doing my supermarket shop mentally aisle by aisle helps with sleep! Hope things settle down for you soon. x

choc. sounds fab! Lucky DD. my ds3 has a birthday next week, and as I have yet been too crap to organise anything, I feel there will be much shite food milling about for the next week...(also I am in one of those incredibly lazy and disinterested phases where I can't be arsed to cook!)

Huffpot Fri 14-Jun-13 18:45:29

Welcome back fair!

Sorry to hear about DH lady

Well done on the pound choc...I shall be doing my damndest to lose some next week for someone else to find grin

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 14-Jun-13 22:17:51

I have a feeling I am the lost pound kleptomaniac...

Huffpot Sat 15-Jun-13 08:07:29

Awww lady...get on plan and chuck that kleptomania...preferably at someome you don't like...if there isn't anyone I'll volunteer my MIL or SIL! wink

Huffpot Sat 15-Jun-13 14:08:28

Good day so far...went to grab some bits and was out for 2.5hours (walking with double buggy)

B: 4 scan bran with light philly, ham and tomato and a banana
L: Butternut squash soup
D: Will either be a jacket potato and beans and salad or omlette and salad and SW chips

ChocolateBridesmaid Sun 16-Jun-13 18:46:26

Oh my word I am stuffed. Weigh in Will not be good. Worth it though smile

Aww thanks xx

I've a feeling the 3lb I lost last week could be back this week blush

Wish I was off tomorrow! Feeling like a lie in. Lots of stuff going on here at minute, as usual!! 2 days extra work this week which is great, as I love it.

Had a very indulgent weekend, back on the skinny wagon in morning!

We have seen helicopters fly by all week on their way to the G8 summit!! Exciting stuff happening just up the road!!

ladyarwenevenstar Mon 17-Jun-13 10:47:43

can I be nosey and ask about your new work???

Huffpot Mon 17-Jun-13 13:38:38

Asong as you both enjoyed it Choc and Fair smile

Been to the doc with hip/back pain and she thinks I might have SPD from the pregnancy hormones left in my body...if no improvement in 2 weeks I've to go back and get referred to a physio...oh the joys!

ladyarwenevenstar Wed 19-Jun-13 20:24:38

I've finally faced the fear and done the WI - 2lb gain, which I feel is not bad considering the 3 or so weeks I've had. DS3s birthday tea tonight, but will be firmly back on the wagon tomorrow. (despite my man-flu)

hope you're all good x

Huffpot Thu 20-Jun-13 08:08:08

Thats not so bad lady

I put on half a pound last night and though I thought I'd been good I think I prob didnt have enough superfree and picked at the kids scraps too much so am cross with myselfangry
Plus was clapping last night at group and could feel my arm fat wobbling which didnt help the crossness shock

ladyarwenevenstar Fri 21-Jun-13 11:00:26
