Right. This saves us clogging up the post-natal thread.

I'm 5'9" and when I was last weighed I think I was about 130kgsad

I'm going to get weighed tomorrow and clear out the cupboards on Sunday. I'm going to get the application for the leisure centre membership too, though I can't do that until September.

CherryBlossom27 Fri 03-Aug-12 22:41:33

Marking place!

I want to get out of my 'fat' jeans into my fav jeans grin

seven77 Fri 03-Aug-12 22:44:33

Nice one LMF.

Time to face up to it, starting weight 209lbs (I don't do kilos), BMI 35.7. I've downloaded the NHS BMI tracker app, and now enjoying my last glass of wine that I don't deserve. At least weighing last thing at night I should weigh less tomorrow morning grin.

I watched the hairy dieters too for inspiration.

hawthers Fri 03-Aug-12 22:46:48

Joining - am 5 ft 2 in and 9st 6 today. Need to lose half a stone to get to pre prey then another mythical half stone to get to dream weight.

Managed to drop 8 pounds since beg may by eating the bare min and cutting out cake. Problem is I love cake and would eat it all day long if I could. More self control needed. Portion control and no smacking/cakes is my plan

Motto: if it doesn't hurt, it is not working

hawthers Fri 03-Aug-12 22:47:56

Def no smacking cakes - what have they done to deserve it.....

seven77 Fri 03-Aug-12 22:50:14

Made us fat?! Mine weakness is biscuits, though the wine and chocolate don't help.

Kitty5824 Fri 03-Aug-12 22:53:31

grin hawthers

Right, you all know I've had a good start this week, make sure I keep it up please!!

I'm 5"7, starting weight 227lb, ideal aim is 147lb, but would be happy to get back below 160 would be awesome.

Off to bed as I'm up at 3am!!!!!

aethelfleda Fri 03-Aug-12 23:44:14

I'm 15 stone 3 (213 pounds for those USA types) and want to get back to 12 stone (pre-TTC weight). Wouldn't mind a few pounds less but at 5 ft 8 i am never going to be a size 12....real aim is to get back into all my
Size 16s.

LittleMissFlustered Sat 04-Aug-12 11:57:26

Today I have started half-and-halving sugar/sweetener in my coffee. Fairy steps are us.

Scales in tesco borked so will head to boots in a bit.

Looking at getting some buggy weights as well, walking with a heavier pram will be better cardio non?

MissRee Sat 04-Aug-12 12:56:55

Place marking!

Starting weight back in May was 217lb, am now 197lb after losing another 5lb this week - yay!

I'm doing a very low carb diet (mostly from veg) and eating only unprocessed food (salad, veg, eggs, fish, chicken etc.). I'm off to see the local gym tomorrow morning for a proper diet sheet and will be having 3 protein shakes a day as well as 3 meals! I need to lose 3-4 stone ideally.

seven77 Sat 04-Aug-12 13:40:41

Well done missree!

Revised weight from this morning is 207lb. I have managed to eat just one chocolate digestive instead of four, and turned down offers of cheese rolls and pork pie.

seven77 Sat 04-Aug-12 13:42:16

How often does everyone plan on weighing themselves? Should we choose one day each week where we all have a weigh-in?

LittleMissFlustered Sat 04-Aug-12 14:19:48

I don't have scales so can't weigh at sensible times. You chaps go ahead thoughgrin

(I refuse to buy them on the basis that they're harmfully in a house with small kids who get bombarded with crap about food all the time at school.)

LittleMissFlustered Sat 04-Aug-12 14:20:25

Also: we'll done for keeping ongrin

MissRee Sat 04-Aug-12 15:24:09

At the moment I'm weighing on a friday but I know the gym don't like you to weigh any more frequently than fortnightly!

LittleMissFlustered Sat 04-Aug-12 16:05:07

Today myfitnesspal has reminded me that I drink too many lattes on a Saturday >_<

Next Saturday I shall make the change to filter or americanosad I'll allow myself one latte a week as an emergency measure.

I meal-planned today, then shopped accordingly. Then had to go back to tesco as I had forgotten loo roll in my quest to not buy anything that wasn't on my list >_<

I also got weighed. I'm 20st 7lb/130.6kg. Believe it or not that's over three stone down on pre-pregnancy weight. My BMI is 44, it used to be 48.

I'm planning to meal plan the summer away, then hit the gym/pool when the kids go back to school. This time next year I'd like to have shifted at least five stone.

seven77 Sat 04-Aug-12 17:33:50

Good luck lmf. More success, I've managed to give DS sweets without stealing any, and his tea time leftovers went straight in the bin. I think something may have clicked today.

hawthers Sat 04-Aug-12 18:20:21

Argh leftovers - I'm so bad at scoffing eating them.

Am currently so hungry I'd like to chew my own arm off. Hopefully that will mean results this week...

LittleMissFlustered Sat 04-Aug-12 20:15:04

The kids are buzzing over my meal plans for the week. Will be making cheese sauce in a Hairy Dieters stylee on Monday, using cornflour instead of a roux to thicken it all up. I'm going to go buy a nutmeg, as the powder is tolerable but the real deal is much more flavoursome, and with there being no butter I think it will need all the help it can get!

The kids are also rather desperate to try the lasagne with leek instead of pasta, but I'm not prepared for them to do without carbs and I am not making to lasagnes! Instead I'm going to just layer in the centre of the dish, so there's a gap all the way round. Then one proper layer on top to stop the white sauce disappearing into the ragu.

Mmm. Lasagnegrin

Has anyone ever used carrot in their ragu? I've not so would like some ha d holding at the time, as I'm not a fan of the veggies. I cook them a lot for the kids, but tend to avoid like the proverbial five year old myself >_<

Anyway. Bed!

MissRee Sat 04-Aug-12 20:39:48

LMF you could do a pasta bake instead with wholemeal pasta shapes? The kids will never know it's healthier wink

LittleMissFlustered Sat 04-Aug-12 21:31:28

They eat fabulously, it's me that's the problem. Also , wholemeal pasta is vile. Less of the good stuff is the way forwardgrin

aethelfleda Sun 05-Aug-12 07:52:42

I survived an all-you-can-eat bbq christening buffet!

(it was an afternoon do and I decided that I'd darned well eat what I liked and remonstrate later. Fortunately it was a late lunch do and so over the afternoon I munched two cheesburgers and a plate of rather nice salad : as I didn't then want dinner it was not the blowout I'd feared!)

But this is why I dislike calorie counting. I know that from a maths point of view it provides a disincentive to overeating, but I don't like the "running out of todays allowance" psychology. Also, like LMF, I'd often rather have one bacon butty than five apples, and "low fat reduced" calorie versions often taste vile: I'd rather eat proper yummy cake less often. Once I was offered a slice of "slimming world special cake" which was made with weird bran flour: it tasted vile!!!
I'm going to give the myfitness app another week and see if it's earnt its place versus the time i waste typing it in!

Anyway, weight this week is 3 lb down from my start weight, and since I stopped the BFing I dropped 3 lb that i've not included here as bosom weight reduction was fluid rather than lard). So a good start, though I'm aiming for a half pound to a pound a week loss. I'm up to weekly weights if you guys are, someone pick a day. And then maybe the people who like to weigh less often can do every other one or once a month?

LittleMissFlustered Sun 05-Aug-12 08:36:17

I can weigh most weekends, as I go to town to drop the kids offsmile

Today there will be cake making by the children >_<

LittleMissFlustered Sun 05-Aug-12 08:52:02

Also: I hate being hungry when I go to bed. Too many years of eating my dinner late:/

seven77 Sun 05-Aug-12 08:54:58

Saturdays then?

seven77 Sun 05-Aug-12 10:17:25

Gah I'm starving! Off to do the garden in an attempt to avoid the flapjack in the kitchen.

LittleMissFlustered Sun 05-Aug-12 10:50:26

I just had late breakfast, as octoboy seceded he needed a milk marathon >_<

Tonight we're having sausages and potato bake. I'm using the tiny oven dish so there will be no leftovers to snarfgrin

aethelfleda Sun 05-Aug-12 19:09:34

Have had a sandwich based day, and about to break out the exercise DVD for a bit of motivation (which will either be followed by cheeky skirting board painting, or alternatively vegging in fron of the olympic highlights with me knitting.)

seven77 Sun 05-Aug-12 20:32:18

I'm doing surprisingly well today, I deliberately didn't come in until lunchtime, then had soup. We had fishcakes, new potatoes and salad from the garden for tea. As I cba with proper exercise I'm burning calories by flying round the house cleaning and tidying instead, I figure getting a clean house too is far more productive than going to the gym grin

I'm after meal ideas though please, particularly for the days when DH goes running. As he's training a short run is at least 6 miles, he needs more than salad but I don't want to cook two seperate meals.

hawthers Sun 05-Aug-12 21:28:21

seven how about roasted veg with added pasta, salami/chorizo and mozz cheese for your DH?

hawthers Sun 05-Aug-12 21:28:57

ps roasted broccoli is lush

MissRee Sun 05-Aug-12 21:42:39

Woohoo I have my diet sheet! It's a lot less restrictive than I thought so I'm very happy grin eggs for breakfast, chicken or ham salad for lunch and fish/chicken/red meat with veg for dinner. It's more varied than that but that is the basic gist of it. Then 2-3 protein shakes a day to "fill up" between meals. Basically, I shouldn't be going more than 2-3 hours between meals! I'm allowed a few carbs (new potatoes a couple of times a week and one slice of toast with my eggs a couple of times a week) then Sunday is cheat meal day to kick start the metabolism again and counteract the plateau effect when you diet grin

I have to go back in a month for weighing but I'm not allowed to weigh in between I won't be able to resist though

On the exercise front, she acknowledged that weekdays are difficult enough without trying to cram in an hour of exercise and said that the hour of practically running walking to and from the coach each day is sufficient but if I could go in and do some weight training at weekends (even if only one session) then that would make a difference for toning purposes.

Feeling very positive!

aethelfleda Sun 05-Aug-12 22:19:10

Arsebuggerwhotsits. Managed ten minutes of my old faithful Davina (30 min workout: pump) and then felt my knee twinge in a not-good way during the first set of weight lunges. Stopped straight away to avoid any serious damage but am really annoyed. I'm sure this is me being rusty, coupled with having 3 extra stone on that knee during the exercising.
Will be fine, just need to rustle up low impact stuff for a week and then build up, but it's still annoying! And knitting won over painting while I wrangled DD1 (who has just read Harry Potter no 1 in three days, bless her, but was too excited by it to go to sleep til she finished.)

CherryBlossom27 Mon 06-Aug-12 10:14:17

I'm half doing a good job, DH and I had ribs and chips for dinner last night! But we did take DS for a nice long walk (about an hour) in the pushchair after dinner!

I woke up feeling really hungry today so I had 3 weetabix instead of 2 blush will try and be good for the rest of today. I'm going out to a play group later so that will be another hours walk.

aethelfleda Mon 06-Aug-12 20:18:20

15 minutes of light DVD exercise tonight as I don't wan to strain knee (and have slight backache so being careful). Tonight's offering was "Gimme gimme gimme a really great workout". Should be titled a really cheap workout as the music (bjorn again in concert) is one of the redeeming features. The sound compiler for this DVD should be shot: it's extremely sloppily cued and at one point there is a full 10 seconds silence hafway through a warmup... And then they just recue the same track. There's also a john Barrowman clone with a
Scary fixed smile to watch, he is incredibly camp and rather amusing.

Now having a stirfry to use up some cabbage from the veg box and some coriander sauce that's too spicy for the DDs. Yum.

seven77 Tue 07-Aug-12 13:22:08

I've just prepared a beef stew for tonight, my mantra is now I must not make dumplings.

aethelfleda Tue 07-Aug-12 15:43:56

Ah, dumplings aren't that bad, are they? As long as you don't eat ten of them? (sounds yummy: I want stew and dumplings now!)

seven77 Tue 07-Aug-12 21:35:24

Fail, dumplings were bloody good though!

aethelfleda Wed 08-Aug-12 20:15:03

Just did my first Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.

MissRee Wed 08-Aug-12 20:41:05

I neeeeeeed carbs sad argh!

Kitty5824 Wed 08-Aug-12 22:41:37

Ok, not done well with the diet this week (weigh in tomorrow so will update then) but am hoping this will be offset by all the walking at the weekend. Sat about 5 miles, Sun about 6 miles with DS in sling so carrying at least an additional 16lb (no idea what he currently weighs!!)

Made very delicious pasta sauce from onion, bacon, tin of toms, some tom puree and some worcestershire sauce for tea, but craving chocolate.... sad think I'll go to bed grin

seven77 Wed 08-Aug-12 22:58:07

We had Chinese tonight, you're welcome to <haddock> me.

aethelfleda Wed 08-Aug-12 23:07:13

Mmm, chinese haddock....

<salivates slightly>

Kitty5824 Thu 09-Aug-12 11:47:57

1.5lbs this week. So 9.5 lbs in a fortnight grin

So obviously, I'm celebrating by going to the pub for tea tonight wink.

MissRee Thu 09-Aug-12 13:09:36

Well done Kitty grin

I'm so good... it's my birthday so I have to get cake for the office. I deliberately chose one I don't like so I don't scoff it grin

Kitty5824 Thu 09-Aug-12 15:46:40

Blimey Ree that is proper dedication. Happy Brithday. Get yourself over to DSM virtual hen night for a cocktail grin

I'm jsut pureeing fruit (mix of apple, pear and plum) for DH and have decided I'm going to be a brave girl next week and try some of his weetabix with a bit of puree to sweeten.

I'm generally more of a frosties girl, but need to be off the heavily sugared cereal before he's old enough to want some wink

MissRee Thu 09-Aug-12 16:56:48

Do you like rice crispies kitty? According to my diet guru, they're the best cereals to have (besides porridge)!

aethelfleda Thu 09-Aug-12 19:59:30

Have just blown out diet with fried chicken dinner. It was worth every darned calorie though smile

Tomorrow is another day, right? (and actually it wasn't too bad as I picked small pieces and only ate a third of the chips. Honest.)

Kitty5824 Thu 09-Aug-12 20:54:56

Hmmm, rice crispies with a banana sliced on top. Yum yum. Rice crispies are the bext because you feel like yoou've got LOADS to eat grin

aethelfleda Thu 09-Aug-12 22:18:55

Nooo! Rice krispies are terrible as they never fill you up! My top tip is oat so simple (supermarket versions) as they take 2 mins to microwave and have a fixed portion size. If you get the ones where you use the sachet to dose out the milk there is no thinking involved and they keep you full.

(but hey, if krispies is your thang then go for it!)

Is it Saturdays we are weighing-in then?

seven77 Thu 09-Aug-12 23:07:55

aethel yes Saturdays.

Other than kitty who is doing brilliantly does anyone feel that they may have actually lost anything this week?

I found a great way of tarting up stewed rhubarb earlier, I topped it with granola and served with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. Really tasty and still better than a crumble.

MissRee Fri 10-Aug-12 08:56:52

I'm on day 5 Kitty and I've lost 2lb already grin

I thought Oat so Simple was full of sugar - even the original one?

aethelfleda Fri 10-Aug-12 20:09:23

Yes misree it is sugared: but a bowful is only 220 calories including the milk: so that's lower calories than a lot of breakfasts and it does keep you full for a long while. I'm not into anti-carbs/low-sugar diets, and porridge works well for me.

aethelfleda Sat 11-Aug-12 07:43:41

Hooray: weigh in today and have lost another 2lb this week (total lost 5lb, current weight 14 st 12, 208 lb.)

Really pleased though I know this is the "kick start" effect rather than a genuine fat loss of that much: am a bit bored of myfitnesspal already! Is anyone else actually going to keep doing it? I'm thinking I may keep it in reserve and do it for a week each time i get a week where I haven't lost/have gone up. So kind of a motivational whotsit.

Next week's aim: to do a greater number of DVD sessions (even if they are short 10 or 20 minute ones) .

seven77 Sat 11-Aug-12 09:04:42

I've put on 2lb sad though I did have chinese. Tbh I'm so pissed off with DH this morning I don't really care. Will do myfitnesspal religiously for the next week.

hawthers Sat 11-Aug-12 09:30:59

Still 9st 6 today although I did dip by 1 lb in the middle if the week which I know as i have a terrible habit of weighing myself every day. I have to stop doing this as I'd been really focused and saw a result then the next day eased up and its gone back on. Totally rubbish.

So conclusion is not rocket science - do NOT weigh oneself every day... Hmm going to find that hard.

seven77 Sat 11-Aug-12 14:19:48

Cancel earlier post. I've actually lost 2lb grin. Major Banbury here, I was too lazy to change the setting on the digital scales, forgot what my previous weight was in stone and my tired brain failed to convert into lbs!

LittleMissFlustered Sun 12-Aug-12 03:57:47

Sorry, lost thread from I'm on list.

Maintained at 20st 7. Which sucks but it's been a very sedentary week due to circumstance.

Hoping to get a couple of walks in this week.

Super effort from you all, I'm dragging out the pompoms.

I'm trying the no-butter cheese sauce this week, I'm intrigued to see if it tastes any good. Will be using sharp sharp sharp cheese so need less.

seven77 Sun 12-Aug-12 08:55:04

I'm on a complete cheese ban, it's not worth the vast amount of calories!

LittleMissFlustered Sun 12-Aug-12 11:42:30

100g goes a long way in a sauce though, and will do us two meals as a familysmile

aethelfleda Sun 12-Aug-12 11:57:48

If I ban cheese, I just want it! Plus a little can go a long way as lmf says.
Things like spaghetti bolognaise are so much better with a little cheese grated over, and grating to make it go further in sandwiches etc... Or very thinly sliced with crackers and olives...

in other news DH came back with a big bag of Reece's peanut butter cups. Mmmmmmmm <must not eat all at once>

LittleMissFlustered Sun 12-Aug-12 13:29:12

Bacon sandwiches with a sprinkle of bacon, death in bread but so good!

You can have the chocolate. I don't like peanut butter unless it's being converted to a sataygrin

LittleMissFlustered Sun 12-Aug-12 13:29:47

Sprinkle of cheese. Might have bacon on the brain >_<

aethelfleda Sun 12-Aug-12 16:37:29

Mmm, brains. Wonder how many calories are in Brains' faggotts? I remember getting cravings for those during pregnancy (even though they contain liver...)

seven77 Sun 12-Aug-12 21:25:38

I've lost an inch from my waist and half an inch from my hips since last week! Tbh I find that much more motivational than the 2lb I've lost. I tried on my size 16 pre-pregnancy jeans a couple of weeks ago, they went over my hips, but I was around 2 inches away from doing them up, or probably 3 from being comfortable so I feel like I'm actually achieving something now grin

LittleMissFlustered Sun 12-Aug-12 21:41:36

I just ate profiterolessad

I did so well at dinner too, oven done chunky wedges with a dollop of chilli on >_<

Ho hum, tomorrow is another day.

seven77 Sun 12-Aug-12 21:44:07

LMF would it help to know I had a doughnut earlier? In my defence it was worth it!

aethelfleda Sun 12-Aug-12 21:46:26

Well done seven! I know what you mean about shape feeling more important than figures.

You're right lmf, each day's a new start. I just could not face exercise tonight, too hot and sticky. Hope tomorrow will work better...

MissRee Mon 13-Aug-12 13:47:53

I can't move my arms... gym on Saturday nearly killed me! blush

aethelfleda Mon 13-Aug-12 20:57:08

I'm getting sooo bored of cal counting! But it's in a good cause, right?

<must do more exercise but AF says sit on the sofa and veg out>

aethelfleda Tue 14-Aug-12 20:34:16

Right, onwards girls, it's way too hot but I managed 15 mins of cream Ibiza 2010(though most of that was the warmup, sigh). Another new DVD, and this one I like so far. The warmup is very thorough and felt well constructed, it does need a concrete bra for the main section though as there's lots of jumping!

MissRee Tue 14-Aug-12 21:48:44

I can't face aerobic exercise with such big bangers in this heat Aethel so well done you!

Arms are starting to come back to life today so I'm ready to destroy them do it all again on Friday!

I'm feeling quite good today - we had dinner at the inlaws tonight and they got fish and chips in... so I picked off and discarded the batter and didn't have any chips! grin

Kitty5824 Wed 15-Aug-12 09:07:52

We had kebabs last night. I had a chicken shish and asked for lemon juice rather than mayo. Hmmmmmm, lovely!

aethelfleda Wed 15-Aug-12 20:11:28

Patsy Palmer's ibiza workout tonight: I'm still only doing 15 mins at a time partly cos it's hot and I'm unfit and also cos the DCs are later to bed than usual so I don't want to eat too late. My general rule is tht if it makes me hot and sweaty and takes a while to wind down afterwards, then it's having benefit. And as we all know it's plugging away bit by bit that has an effect (as long as I don't fall off the wagon!)

Talking of which: have hoarded the calories today, dinner is confit de canard with mash!

Kitty5824 Thu 16-Aug-12 13:19:29

3lb this week! 12.5lbs in total!!

I'm a little bit giddy. Have promised myself a proper haircut when I lose a stone. grin

MissRee Thu 16-Aug-12 15:22:39

<Pompoms for Kitty> grin

MissRee Thu 16-Aug-12 19:24:17

Yay for carb night... Rice rice nommyness even if it will be a teeny tiny amount grin

aethelfleda Fri 17-Aug-12 21:25:21

Jilliean...gillian..gilleyann... Arg, whatever. shred woman. Too hot for this, am melting. This had better be in a good cause.

<melts into puddle of icky stuff>

aethelfleda Fri 17-Aug-12 21:27:56

Ps Kitty, what sort of haircut? Is your hair long or short at the moment?

(I've just gone from mid back length to long mummy-bob inthe name of death to split ends. It's still too hot.)

hawthers Sat 18-Aug-12 08:06:30

3lb lost! Woop woop

Kitty5824 Sat 18-Aug-12 10:01:55

aethel Hair is currently mid shoulder blade. Have spent since finding out I was pregnant growing out fringe. Soooo, think I'm going to get fringe cut back in and shorten to shoulder skimming length. DH will not be impressed wink

<Pompoms for Hawthers>

MissRee Sat 18-Aug-12 10:38:43

I recently had my hair lopped from mid shoulder blade to chin length bob... BEST thing I ever did grin so much easier to dry/style in the mornings and not so much of a sweaty icky neck in this heat!

aethelfleda Sat 18-Aug-12 11:33:11

Sounds great Kitty!

<more pompoms> for Hawthers, that's fab!

I'm pleased as have managed to drop another 2lb this week, so that's now half a stone lost. I think a pound of that was sweat from last night....
I know it's going to slow down a lot but a least it's a really good start.

<grudgingly accepts that in the short term calorie counting is helping. But it's Sooooo Borring!!!> more to the point I refuse to cal count long term, it's just going to be at what point I fall off the counting wagon....

seven77 Mon 20-Aug-12 09:29:22

Well done on all of the weight loss!

Sorry I fell off the thread, then the digital scales were playing up. It was recording a difference of up to 5lb depending whereabouts in the bathroom the scales were! Anyway, new scales report another 2lb lost.

aethelfleda Tue 21-Aug-12 21:50:07

Arg. No motivation, no calories left in flipping app, too hot and icky to exercise, knackered and backache. Onwards. Tea. Do not eat contents of snack cupboard.

aethelfleda Wed 22-Aug-12 22:58:50

Less hot tonight (phew) and DH had to do some homework, so Pump It Up:Burn It, Lose It happened: (BPM section tonight). I do like the Ministry of Sound DVDs, they are good choons without too much patronising.

aethelfleda Wed 22-Aug-12 22:59:22

Oh, and next door neighbour told me she thought I had lost some weight. Hoorah!

Kitty5824 Wed 22-Aug-12 23:22:25

Yay! Nothing better than an unprompted compliment grin

Not looking forward to WW tomorrow.....must get back on track from tomorrow.

seven77 Fri 24-Aug-12 11:32:12

Oh god, I done a full weigh on our fancy scales, I'm 47% fat, I feel sick.

We had a really healthy vegetable broth for tea last night, and there's enough left for tonight.

seven77 Fri 24-Aug-12 11:32:47

Hope you got on ok at WW yesterday kitty.

Kitty5824 Fri 24-Aug-12 11:43:10

smile you noticed my silence then?

Stayed the same. Which is to be expected as I had my Mum's car over the weekend so walked nowhere!!!!

It still averages out at just over 3lb off per week since I started so I can't really complain.

Meal plans done for the week - lots of stir fry veg with chicken or fish. I only need 1.5lbs to have lost a stone.

MissRee Fri 24-Aug-12 12:23:17

Woo another 2pm off which brings total to 25lb lost! Yay!

hawthers Sat 25-Aug-12 07:45:13

[Sad] zero weight off

But zero weight on. Think I've not been quite as focused on the portion size. Must do better this week (and try to ignore the big birthday cake I'm about to make for DS1....)

Sigh: 1lb back on (now 207 lb). Bit gutted as I've done 25 days on the myfitnesspal and only went over the 1800 calorie allowance once (yesterday, and that was only 35 calories over). Doesn't add up as I've
done three workouts and a stackload of painting this week. I think I shall
Have to claim it's muscle, which weighs more than fat, right?

hawthers Sat 25-Aug-12 08:01:52

aethel oh bugger that is a total arse.

I'm not calorie counting as such but viewing my food intake as an AIBU post and imagining the flaming I'd get; AIBU to expect to lose weight if I eat five thousand biscuits.... And tbh this week I think I'd be legging it from mn! There have been the odd transgressions which I think have been every day. Hmm next week is a new week and muscle is vastly heavier than fat (i have bo such excuse)

seven77 Sat 25-Aug-12 17:29:34

Nothing lost here either. Has anyone seen my motivation, I think I may have left it near the biscuit jar.

aethel what an arse, bet you wish you'd bloody had that G&T now!

aethelfleda Sun 26-Aug-12 10:28:55

Righty ho ladies: this week (Sunday-Saturday) I shall be giving the cal counting a miss, and eating whatever I like BUT with careful portion control (so one sandwich for lunch, not three). I am allowing myself to be excessive at any point desired BUT any excessive meal must be followed by a smaller/lower cal type meal IYSWIM. And on with the exercise! And yes, this means G&T is allowed (slimline tonic of course)

aethelfleda Tue 28-Aug-12 21:27:37

Hi girls. Pilates Ten minute S

aethelfleda Tue 28-Aug-12 21:29:54

Ten minute Solutions: Pilates tonight.
The woman doing it is very elastic and a tiny bit insane.

Non calorie counting is going OK, but annoyed by feeling twitchy for not counting!! Oh well, we'll see come the next weigh in. Am finding it harder to get the exercise slotted in with the three but I suppose that was inevitable.

aethelfleda Wed 29-Aug-12 20:30:50

Pump it up Powermix :2010 tonight: music fairly good, costumes "wacky" (purple lycra leggings and off-the-shoulder grey shapeless top, anyone?)
An unhealthy desire for fast bouncy squats...but fairly good impact when it got going.

And feeling better as a sneaky re-weigh now says 204 lb, much better!
Keep going, guys....

<tries to ignore the ice cream snickers bars in the freezer>

aethelfleda Fri 31-Aug-12 09:16:56

Oh dear, is it just me here? Hope you guys are all doing OK...

<goes back to frantic cleaning>

Kitty5824 Fri 31-Aug-12 09:27:39

Sorry Aethel didn't mean to ignore you. Was too busy gobbling my Curly Wurly stash and hiding the wrappers grin

Lost 2lb this week, so that is 14.5lb in total! <Does little jig> So I can get my hair cut!! (When I reach the 10% target set by my lovely WW lady I'll get a mani/pedi hopefully in time for the family wedding in October)

I thought I'd had a terrible week, so this has given me a boost, I am trying to plan activities for everyday next to week to ensure at least an hour of walking with DS in the sling. Carrying an additional 17lb will burn off more calories than pushing the pushchair right?

Anyone seen the Warburton Wraps that are square? I made pizza last night using it as a base. Not bad. DH's looked better, with full fat cheese on it, but mine was tasty grin

MissRee Fri 31-Aug-12 12:50:34

Sorry, having a week off whilst on hols! Will be back on it with a vengeance come Tuesday grin

hawthers Fri 31-Aug-12 17:35:15

Early weigh in for me as at m and d's before heading to a wedding sans kids tomorrow. Lost nearly 2lbs this week by portion control and not much wine. Good considering DS1's birthday cake has been consumed most days.

aethelfleda Sun 02-Sep-12 18:59:08

203 lb today... Slow and steady loss is what I'm hoping for, so this is great. Must be organised and try to do a bit of jumping around tonight when kids in bed ...

hawthers Wed 05-Sep-12 07:40:14

Well done aethel slow and steady wins the race. I am def the tortoise as a wedding at the weekend meant some overindulgence so back to square one this week grrr

Kitty5824 Thu 06-Sep-12 12:27:14

Hmphh. have put on 1/2lb. Sadly, I have been going to WW long enough (on and off since I was 14!) to know that this may well mean a HUGE loss next week. Fingers crossed.....

Kitty5824 Thu 06-Sep-12 13:04:37

Just cheered myself up by doing my measurements.

I have lost 14lbs so far.

I didn't measure myself right at the start, but in 3 weeks I have also lost 4cm off my waist, 1cm off my hips, 2cm off my bust, 1cm off my upper arms, 1 cm off my thighs and have dropped from a size 20 to a size 18.

Am now off to dig out my size 16 jeans to see if I can at least pull them on yet grin

Aethelfleda Thu 06-Sep-12 19:11:47

Wow, well done Kitty, that is fab, what a boost!

Haven't got Out the tape but i probably should at some point...

hawthers Sat 08-Sep-12 07:02:29

Have put on nearly a pound grump. Can't even cheer myself up with some cake. Going to get back on the slippages today and start shredding on Monday. Totally fed up.

Aethelfleda Sat 08-Sep-12 09:18:09

((((hug))))* Hawthers*, keep at it, we're all getting weeks where we don't lose. Just keep plugging away, every small step in the right direction will count eventually..

<vows not to think about the birthday cake for DD2 that's currently in oven with almost two packets of butter in it>

one pound off here, now at 202, that is 14 stone 6 in real money. Had hoped for more as ran round like a loon this week, but haven't done any formal exercise. I shall join you in the shred!

Kitty5824 Sat 08-Sep-12 14:36:16

Time to shrug it off ladies, we CAN do it!

<conveniently forgets she is going out for dinner tonight...although driving so will be using my wine calories for dessert [gin]>

Seriously, get the tape measure out. Waist, hips, upper arm, thighs. Then measure again in a month.

MissRee Sat 08-Sep-12 16:38:46

I put on a lb this week. Not too disappointed though as was expecting more after last week's naughtiness grin

Back on it now!!!!!

hawthers Fri 14-Sep-12 07:00:09

Drastic (ish) action being taken. DH has taken custody of the scales, is helping me with my portion size and I've been doing the 30 day shred every day together with speed walking (because somehow we are always running late) DS1 to and from preschool up hill pushing ten tons of pushchair. This all must be doing something, right?

Big weigh in on Saturday and I'm hoping for some good progress....

Kitty5824 Fri 14-Sep-12 09:16:01

4lb off! I have now lost 18lb which is approx what DS weighs. How much of an incentive is that? To pick up your baby and think blimey, that's how much fat I was carrying.

Lots more to go, but am feeling invigorated.

Did a Zumba class for the first time yesterday. Not quite the spectacular failure I was expecting, but I'm not sure the teacher is all that good. That said, she let me bring DS and he was crawling around in the corner so not sure I can stop going IYSWIM.

Off to make some carefully balanced bolognese to form the base for many meals.....

Aethelfleda Sat 15-Sep-12 18:52:44

201 lb this week: so a one pound loss. Think the cleaning is acting in lieu of formal exercise!! Pleased as really thought I would go up this week.

Wow Hawthers that sounds motivated! Good luck with it...And v well done Kitty, it's amazing to think how much lard we are carrying about. One of my friends actually went to the supermarket and had a friend take a photo of her with the same amount of lard in the trolley that she'd lost (and as it was over 5 stone that was a LOT of lard...)

hawthers Sat 15-Sep-12 20:05:46

Good one aethelfleda on the loss - a loss is a loss.

I'm down 1.2lb (need to include the 0.2!) So good but not as good as I'd hoped mainly due to cheating slightly losing focus with my food. Looking back I had biscuits or shortbread or fudge every day. Hmm surprising I lost any really! Must do better with the food this week.

MissRee Fri 21-Sep-12 17:53:22

Woohoo - another 3lb off this week. That's 2stone gone and half way to goal grin

hawthers Sat 22-Sep-12 09:28:53

Down 1.6lb so hit pre pg weight. Am def keeping on with the shred as its really changed my shape too.

Aethelfleda Sat 22-Sep-12 19:23:57

Ooh, well done pe

Aethelfleda Sat 22-Sep-12 19:26:38

Ooh, well done peOple!

2lb off, this week so now 199lb (14 stone 3) which is 1 stone 3 off from my heaviest, and two stone to go to target. Hooray! It's been sp nuts with the househunting/cleaning I was expecting a level off. Really need more exercise, must restart the shred (yes, I know I've said that already...)

Aethelfleda Sat 06-Oct-12 10:39:12

Oops ,fell off hread. Lost a pound last week but none this week, so 198 lb (14 st 2). Am bleming it on AF and in no way related to the Belgian Chocolate Biscuit Box I bought from Aldi and have been snarfing whenever DH is back late from work

Back ache has knackered any attempts at exercise too. Baaaad Aethel, must do better!

How are you guys doing?

hawthers Sat 06-Oct-12 10:49:21

After saying I was def keeping with the shred I've failed to do it every day and my eating has been crap too. All mainly due to f waking several times a night after sleeping through for a bit so just too knackered. Weight home up by 1lb so back on it this week and hope to shift a little more.

It's all gone a bit quiet on here!! Time for a concerted effort so we can eat what we want over Christmas. I've lost 2 stone since I joined ww at the end of July [grin

Aethelfleda Sat 01-Dec-12 21:49:25

Ooh good going! I am in a plateau: current weight 13 stone 13, started at 15 st 6 and goal weight (eventually) is 12 stone. My word that's a 3 and a half stone loss to aim for....so I've managed 1 stone 7 off so far. Various things keep getting in the way of the exercise (backache/cold/earaches) but I will get back on the wagon again, if I do it ebough times I'll lose the weight!

Aethelfleda Fri 07-Dec-12 22:47:16

Hooray! Finally got over the plateau and started to (slowly) lose again. Now 13 stone 11 (193 lb). Though I have just eaten an enormous curry...whoops....

Aethelfleda Fri 07-Dec-12 22:50:02

Ooh, just did my BMi and it's now 30.3. So i'm just a teeny bit obese and almost only overweight...Whoever invented BMIs should be bloody shot, I tells ye. Grumble smile
