17th thread lucky for successful and sustained weight loss????? Let's hope so!!!

Last thread took 5.5 months to fill compared to 8 for the one before, am actually down 3lb on the start of the last one shockshock but weight creeping up again and still way up on my low of 30 March <sigh>

Here's to a healthy summer with lots of lovely walks and not too many ice creams grin

Putting me to shame with your no booze shock My last drink was on Monday night blush no wonder I am getting fatter again...

Also putting a link to the old thread so I can easily go back and remind myself how effective the proper low carbing was...

This is not really very good. Concerted effort needed before the summer hols and would like to get down to 10.2 before France - so 4.5lb in 5 weeks which should be do-able although half term and Jubilee partying may scupper the start somewhat blush

I was so ashamed I didn't even weigh in last week but am up 4.25 on 2 weeks ago <sigh> and +11.5 on 30 March shockshock

One consolation is that I am still not smoking (hence the continued shovelling), I did briefly fall off the wagon when we were camping last weekend and had a few puffs but in fact it tasted disgusting and didn't make me feel better so think I might be cured grin Still want one but knowing that I wouldn't like it is such a help.

I'm feeling old, tired, demotivated, can't-be-arsed, and just generally wanting to hide from the world. It's one of those horrible viscious circle things...if I looked good I'd want to do more to look better/maintain it.

Thanks for your kind words. No, the divorce isn't my choice. He left almost two years ago, but some days it feels as fresh as when it first happened.

I think it's because it's coming up to the time to start divorce proceedings and he's suddenly realised he's made a huge mistake hmm. Pity he didn't come to that realisation while I was bending over backwards and jumping through hoops to get him back. It's the reason I've lost my mojo, but I'll keep plodding on until I get it back. smile

Some great exercise there girls ! So fa this week- Sunday- 20 k bike, 5k run.
Tues- 10k cycle to gym, 5k run, hour PT, 10k cycle home. Weds- 55k road cycle. Fri- level 3 shred. Tomorrow- 5k park run plus 20 k cycle .
have 7 weeks till Hols and after sun day- NO MORE WINE.

LOTI - pyramid circuit
You need: A barbell with 5kg weights either end, a step and a mat plus access to a treadmill and rower.
1) Shoulder Press
2) Box jumps
3) Cycle sit ups
4) Bicep curls
5) Run/row 300m
6) Bum squeezes
7) Jump lunges
8) Quad burners
9) Leg raises
10) Burpees

So, you do 15x1, then 15x1 & 15x2, then 15x1 & 15x2 & 15x3, then 15x1 & 15x2 & 15x3 & 15x4 and so on. Once you get to burpees you do 30, then work back down through 9, 8, 7, 6 etc.
Overall should take about 50 mins so time for warm up and down in an hour.
If you have longer you can work it back down in the same way you worked up.

Hope that makes some kind of sense confused. Please ask any Q's!

BAsically you do the first exercise - 15 shoulder presses, then do 15 shoulder press followed by 15 box jumps, then 15 SP and 15 BJ (box jumps wink) and 15 cycle sits etc.
So each time you go back to the first exercise and add one more on to the end.

I'm still here. Still eating terribly and not exercising. Someone at work today called me skinny, and I don't know why as I have put on a stone in the last nine months. I think they think I'm still the same as I was last year because I wear things where you can't really tell what my body looks like. I am recycling the same few clothes as my other clothes don't fit, and I REFUSE to buy bigger clothes as that's a slippery slope to just getting bigger.

I did Paul McKenna for three days and I lost four pounds, but then I just started eating emotionally again and I dread getting on the scales as I can tell I've put weight on. It's like I can't get into the frame of mind where I want to look good because I know it will make me feel good, because I don't feel good. It's a vicious cycle. confused

I am evens this week which is sort of disappointing as have been v v good all week, but on the other hand is a relief as went totaally mad again at the weekend with wine, bread, creme brulee, crisps, choclate cake etc etc etc blush

Have been doing really well and have lost nearly 10kg since I went back to work after having DD and am back in a size 10 grin. But I'm still around 2-3kg above my target and have been for a little while. I'm exercising a fair bit and have been eating reasonably healthily so not really sure what else to concentrate on - any ideas?

I am sure you have heard sizz talking about food focus, the app that tracks all your calories? I have also tried life strong. What I found when logging every single morsel was that although I didn't think I ate that much, seeing it all written down and adding up made me realise I was eating more calories than I thought iykwim?

Not sure if that helps, as you can see we have all been hiding in the brushes from this thread blushblush my weight is going up and down like a yo yo and myself getting desperate to loose a few poundsblush with the Dcs constantly by my side my exercise has gone out the window!!!

I've been good over the last week, so I think I can tentatively say I'm back!

I went out the Friday before last and got chatting to someone that I sort of knew, and he kind of made me feel alive again. Kind of reminded me that I'm alive again. I did my Paul McKenna 'Change your life in 7 days' because I knew that nobody would want me with the zero confidence I had.

Anyhoo...Paul has worked, and I'm feeling gorgeous and desirable again. This particular fella has flaked out and I've told him not to bother, but I'm feeling amazing, so I'm ready to start living again (thank you, Paul!)

I was on the straight and narrow and got down to 9st 8 when I'd ballooned up to over 10 stone. A week of eating well and exercising did it, and I feel good again. I need to keep to it, but have been eating and drinking too much again. It's weird how having a man in the picture focussed my mind, but when I sacked him my resolve went again confused.

I need to be able to want to eat well and look after myself for me! I've bought new clothes, and am feeling good, so really need to not mess it up.

However back in the groove today, 1hr circuits and 5 mins powerplate plus took DD's swimming. Pilates tomorrow and will try and run at the weekend.

I have signed up for another Triathlon in early Nov so using that as my target.

11lbs would be nice to lose here too, so should be doable by Xmas? With your health needing a boost, i would suggest loads of food with herbs, spices, garlic etc to try and boost some immunity - stir fries are great and healthy too?

I have no gym sessions planned, but will sort a new gym plan once Emma is in school.

Grapefruit & boiled egg
Rocket & parmesan salad with plum tomatoes, pickled onions & balsamic vinegar
Bacon & cheese omelette with salad
Activia yoghurt

Nibbled on some emmental & ham during the day

Same brekker today. Probably same lunch and venison steak & salad for tea.

I think low carb is particularly tricky for veggies as you end up with egg & cheese all the time. I am doing it for a kick start and to reduce my appetite as you genuinely don't feel hungry doing it. Once i have regulated the quantities i am eating i will go back to my more 'normal' diet.

I am thinking to make some cabbage soup too for those times when i want to eat something but there isn't much to hand.

I was going to go out and play netball last night, but my friend giving me a lift hurt her back so didn't go. No car so can't get to circuits today.

Walked 2.5 miles yesterday and done the same today. Will need to walk back to school later too and possibly part of the way to the garage, so that's all good i suppose. However I have not been good with food (not terrible either) or drink, so know I am up again.

I really need to get back to the gym regime as i am supposed to be doing the triathlon in a month. Now, i know i can do all the distances etc even in my unfit flabby state but would like to have a go at getting somewhere near last year's times.

Didn't make circuits as i managed to step in some dog poo on the way back from school. Got to the gym and tried to clean it off with wipes and only managed about 90%. No way i was going to walk on mats where people put their hands, but thought I was probably ok on the treadmill. So, 9k walk/run and 10 mins powerplate.

Felt ok, although I can feel the decline in fitness and increase in wobbliness <own fault>

Been pretty good with food & drink this week, although may be out at the pub tomorrow so there may be a decline grin

Eek, just looked back and seen I hurt my foot 4 weeks ago.

I did brave the scales this morning and am 10.13, so up about 3 I think. Could have been worse I guess.

Fjorn, you are very kind but the spare tyre is very visible in the pictures - I can't escape!

Managed gym again grin 600 cals burnt on stepper and did some back exercises which have really helped my back smile

Well i couldn't swerve the cake or the pork pie, consequently was +5.5 yesterday but down a bit today to only +3.25. Plenty of time to lose that by Friday...

Not great tbh, hence why I've not really been on here.

But I'm starting tomorrow with 30DS. I figure I can spare 22 minutes every day, surely! Then I'm going to think about a diet plan to start on Monday.

When you say you bulked up, do you mean it showed on the tape measure, or that you perceived yourself to have bulked up? Did your DH think so?

I'm still here loti, just been a mad few days at work combined with the shame of post-birthday weigh in. DD wanted fish & chips so that plus cake plus pastries plus biscuits (you get the picture...) meant Monday's weigh was terrible blush but back to withiin a whisker of last Friday's weight by now and feeling rather relieved grin Well done on your continuing exercise!!!

3 weeks today to my first Christmas party <eek> can I actually get back under 12 stone by then??? 5lb to go so on the evidence of the past three weeks - no! plus we are off to friends tomorrow for a weekend of mucho eating and drinking, and the only exercise I will get is driving 300 miles...

Hello mychild smile hope you get on OK with Jillian. I must admit I did sort of enjoy doing it once I got in the habit. Think my new year's resolution will be to do some exercise as haven't done any this year, and not about to start now grin

Walked/ran about 6 miles today, although cancelled out by Xmas cake and now my heel is agony again sad

Diet starts tomorrow (although will be off again for Birthday weekend). REALLY need to start now, otherwise i will carry on piling weight on. No idea how much i weigh now, but can't fit into loads of clothes so i know it is NOT good. All totally and utterly my own fault, just need to get back into the vibe and hoping a working week structure might help me. Lets hope so.......

Right, I shovelled in my last chocolate brownie and quality street last night, finished drinking until the weekend (only two days off but after 13 days full-on this will be a bit of an achievement...)

Got weighed this morning and am, rather horrifically, +11.5 since 20 December shockshockshock. Obviously (hopefully!) quite a bit of that will be water retention, but quite a lot of it is actual lard blush. Going to attempt to low-carb proerly and see what happens...

Omg, I can't believe I actually braved the scales shock

Up 3 since 16 nov, which was my last weigh in here.

So, bottom line is, I am 11.2, a stone heavier than last Easter. After my birthday I shall get back on it and really focus on food as exercise will be less due to working and still poorly foot sad

My friend shreds before work - I may see if this works for me or maybe not lol

Yes, I can't quite believe it tbh. However I do know that it is not bloating as I have just been steadily pitting it on, rather than being 'light' and then having a big blowout.

Also no muscle tone whatsoever, so when that returns (hopefully!), again it will have an impact I'm sure.

So I know it will take time to shift, but I really want to so here's hoping it gets better as I have been dreadful blush

Gym done followed by play swimming with dds. Severe water retention going on blush not sure why as totm on due for another two weeks so drinking copious amounts of water to combat.

However out for lunch in a bit will try and choose healthy!!
