Just read article in DM about this (i think) new slimming pills. Apparently Mica Paris was using them and she lost two dress sizes in two months.
I am currently 110kg shock and i used to be 68-75kg pre pregnancy weight (youngest dd is 7 and a half) and since then weight was just piling up until it reached 110kg.
I have to lose weight,i have to. I tried some other things in the past and low gi diet helped me to shed 10kg in 8weeks,but i lost motivation and got back to same thing.
Can anyone give me some good kick advice, how to motivate myself, how to find that inner strength to do things in a right way.
My BIG downfall is eating late ,especially when i come from work (9pm) and over the years it became a habit!!!!!!!!
Are this pills ok and did anyone used them???
Thank you for your time!!!!!smilesmile

Mytholmroyd Tue 03-Jan-12 10:36:26

I saw it and it sounds okay and Boots a respectable place- wouldnt buy anythign dodgy off the internet but I would happily pay £60 a month for three months to drop two dress sizes - very unhappy how my weight has crept up the last couple of years when nothing about my diet etc has changed sad

tried to buy some online yesterday but not in stock and now the website is shut down for several days! angry

Will have to trek to the shop....

fuckityfuckfuckfuck Tue 03-Jan-12 10:38:58

But youcan easily drop 2 dress sizes in 3 months by yourself without paying more than a hundred quid for the priveledge. I don't understand why people willingly pay for this shit. If there was a real magic pill that made you lose weight, noone would be fat. Save your money and get on a proper healthy eating plan. Expecting a pill to do it for you is crazy.

Mytholmroyd Tue 03-Jan-12 11:10:27

Jeez what an arrogant thing to say! Why do you assume everyone who wants to be slimmer does not eat healthily? You know absolutely nothing about me or my circumstances, nor I presume the OPs, so hardly surprising you dont understand.

FWIW I have four DC and a DH who are slender, active and extremely healthy - its nothing to do with not having a "proper" healthy eating plan.

fuckityfuckfuckfuck Tue 03-Jan-12 11:13:47

I'm not being arrogant to point out you're buying into the marketing. Do you, honestly, believe that it's as simple as handing over your cash and taking a pill for 3 months? Because that's what they want you to believe. I'm just saying there are better (free) ways. And yes, I've been vastly overweight following both dc. I lost it both times without a little pill.

Mytholmroyd Tue 03-Jan-12 12:42:28

Ah, you think I am gullible? I am not neither crazy nor "buying into the marketing".

I've been a research scientist for nearly 30 years - things are never simple. I read the clinical literature. I weigh up the evidence and reach my own conclusions as to what is best for me and my circumstances and what risk or cost I am prepared to accept.

It's my money, my body and my life - don't be such a judgy-pants!

WhereEaglesDare Wed 04-Jan-12 08:28:33

Hi all and thank you for your replies. I was so busy ,didn't manage to come back yesterday.
The thing is,i do know i could loose weight without "MAGIC" pill and i am aware that if it is working, everyone would be slim.
The thing is i am literally desperate to find inspiration,i NEVER used pills, cause i know most of them are just mind game but this was ,i guess wrong way to start believe that something might actually help me.Article didn't sound dodgy and i guess i just wanted to hear what other people think...

Vick85 Wed 04-Jan-12 16:46:52

I've never tried dieting pills either and the description does sound like it would make all my dreams come true!
This year id really like to loose 2 stone preferably as quick as possible, I think that even if these pills aren't a 'miracle cure' if we are paying £64.99 a month for them surely they will at the very least help us keep on the right track with healthy eating and exercise as we won't be looking to waste our money and binge eat whilst on them! And if they work it's a win win situation!!! I think everyone is capable of loosing weight without them but sometimes we need a helping hand and a kick up the arse!

WhereEaglesDare Sat 07-Jan-12 05:34:40

Some people, like me atm, don't have much needed motivation to start up exercise ....
or any kind of a diet plan.I need exactly what you just said Vick85---GOOD KICK...shock...

rootietootie Sun 08-Jan-12 02:14:16

Ooh, I was just gonna start a thread about these. Is anyone else using them? I think I'm going to give these a try. In fact im away to order some right now.

Mytholmroyd Mon 09-Jan-12 11:32:06

Couldn't agree more OP and Vick85 grin Horses for courses. Lots of people have to spend money to help them loose weight. Even if it is only a placebo it doesn't matter if it works.

Got DD1 onboard to help me - she brought me some back from Boots and has been watching me like a hawk, and babysitting so I can go for walks. After only one week, my trousers are falling down as bloated stomach has gone! grin

WhyohWhyCantIThinkofaFabName Mon 09-Jan-12 21:14:45

Ooh good luck...I had seen these...let us know how you get on...I think I may give them a whirl in a couple of weeks :O)

rootietootie Mon 09-Jan-12 21:23:56

will do, they don't come till friday grrr I want them now lol

LuciousLottie Sat 14-Jan-12 19:50:27

I have been on these for 3 days along side weightwatchers. I lost 3.5lbs in 5 days which i am amazed as i had a bit of a bad week with snacking and pizza!

I have had no side affects and my cravings are not so bad and so is my appetite is pretty much curbed.

so the 3.5lb is fantastic news. I will let you know how weigh in is on saturday.

We all sometimes need something to help motivate us and people are right there are no magic pills but if they help when i am working hard sticking to my diet and normally only acheiving 1-1.5lb so 3.5lb is a big motivator to keep going.

Good Luck to you all smile

MrsAlexanderSkarsgard Sat 21-Jan-12 17:30:41

I am toying with the idea of buying some of these - how is everyone doing?

SWStressed Tue 07-Feb-12 14:11:49

Lucous lottie - how are you getting on with these? Am tempted. Are they working??? Any side effects?

nnekaechebe Wed 21-Mar-12 22:00:00

I normally use Alli how ever I went to work and forgot my pills at home. I popped into boots at waterloo station and they had no Alli so one of the staff recommended XLS Medical. I just bought it because I knew I was going to eat some fatty foods that day.
Anyway, I took two pills immediately with my coffee and busciuts and hoped for the best. For the 6 hours I spent at the office, I continually felt that I had just eaten 40 mins ago. I still wasnt feeling that hungry when I got home so I had a cup of soup just to make sure I had something in my stomach.
What I noticed was that all the while, I still had a lot of energy.
With Alli, my food choices were limited as I had to check the fat content and I was always hungry however with XLS Medical, I constantly felt full at times, could eat anything I wanted (When I felt hungry) and had lots of enery.
Anyway I have so far lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks

son98sonia Mon 25-Jun-12 12:46:13

Is anyone getting on well with these? Stories? Thanks

LuciousLottie Sun 01-Jul-12 20:15:17

Sorry for not getting back to you SWStressed.... Well XLS have really worked for me. I to did weight watchers and my weightloss just stopped! No matter how much i stuck to my points and upped my exercise it was just not budging!

I have lost about 20lb on XLS so far..... I had stopped taking them for a few months but I have started back on them this week. I have created a blog that I will post the link on to here once its live so that you can follow what I have eaten and my weight loss.

Hope you are all doing well.

Good luck with the weight loss and defo do not feel bad about taking a little assistance in motivation and weight loss as I know from first hand how dishearting it is to slog you backside off, diet and still only lose 0.5lb!! I have 4 stone to go to reach my ideal weight of 10st 7lb..... so its not even a case i am skinny and my body thinks i shouldn't be losing it.

So hang on in there and go for it. smile xx

lost815 Thu 09-Aug-12 22:05:07

hi i have started these tablets yesterday, as i had just seen them in boots they have def made me less hungry. I am wanting to lose 2 stone that i could not shift no matter what id done. I will let use know how it go's !!! Anyone got any good stories on this slimming tablet.

Flossyfloof Sun 30-Sep-12 16:25:07

This is being quite heavily advertised at the moment. Are there any more success stories? I am trying (quite) hard to lose weight and any extra help would be great.

ElectricSoftParade Mon 01-Oct-12 09:29:11

I bought these and have been taking them now for 5 days. What I am finding is that I do not feel hungry. I am amazed at how not hungry I feel! Quite an odd sensation as I am definately a snacker and I am just not doing it as there is no desire there. I am very pleased. Tried to weigh myself this morning but my scales have broken. I'm sure I won't have had any dramatic loss but, for the moment, these tablets have broken my cycle of just eating because I'm bored or whatever.

The only drawback for me is wind. Lots and lots of smelly wind. blush So apart from the wind I really am pleased I bought them.

Good luck!

sparkle12mar08 Mon 01-Oct-12 19:57:18

The problem is they're just an appetite suppressant, which means you achieve weight loss by effectively restricting your calorie intake. The minute you come off the pills if you return to eating your previous volume and type of foods because your appetite increases again then all the weight will go straight back on. They only have a hope in hell of working long term if you make a concerted effort to retrain your thought processes about food in the meantime.

Flossyfloof Mon 01-Oct-12 20:15:50

Won't you have got used, though, to smaller portions in the meantime? And if you are not so tempted to snack, might you get out of the habit? Problem is of course, many of us snack through boredom, don't we? How many of us actually feel hunger nowadays?

Just to add to what i said above, normally being on a low carb diet I would be going crazy to eat some fattening carbs in the evening, but all these usual cravings have stoped! got to be something magical in these xls medical pills.

MorrisZapp Tue 02-Oct-12 08:38:56

I've ordered a months worth from amazon, pretty much half the price of boots.

I'll update when I start taking them!

cjfara Wed 03-Oct-12 09:54:13

Hi all, have also been thinking of trying xls-medical. I have always been very skeptical about these so called 'miracle' weight loss pills, however, this one caught my attention. It seems safe and does appear to have had good results, some members on this forum appear to already had some good results with it. It must be noted though that you can't just take this, sit down in front of the TV, eat pizza and expect to lose weight. Xls needs to be used in conjunction with diet and exercise. The other thing that put me off a bit was the price, over £60 is a lot of money, especially with money being tight these days. However I did find a website that is offering them at an introductory price of £38.99, which is really cheap. the address is www.medical-specialists.co.uk/chemist-shop/xls-medical.php I am going to try these and will post again in a few weeks to let everyone know how it's going. In the meantime hope the rest of you continue to have good results.

sandraw74 Wed 03-Oct-12 11:06:05

That is weird cjfara - Medical Specialists are who I always get my medications from!!! Never had any problem with them at all and your stuff always arrives the day after. Im not quite overweight just yet but at least i know about this product if i ever do pile on the lbs lol smile

ZZMum Wed 03-Oct-12 11:27:41

I started last night and weirdly was more hungry than I have ever felt in ages .. but hopefully the effects will be seen soon as am following the low carb routine at the same time .. clearly need a lot of help!

rockabilly74 Thu 04-Oct-12 16:49:36

has anyone got a success story re XLS medical Fat binder tablets?
Did you change your diet?
How much weight did you lose?

KnockKnockPenny Thu 04-Oct-12 19:19:59

I started on them 3 days ago, they are quite cheap (compared to Boots etc) on Amazon. I got 120 for £23.

melacmark Fri 05-Oct-12 13:50:31

Hi i have just ordered xls-medical,i have used another prescription weight loss aid pill called reductil, which worked wonders it also took away hunger and gave me energy, i had taken them on two individual times in my life and worked well both times, after losing 3 stones of weight and gaining a healthy bmi the doctor took me off them, the weight loss was stable for 1 year after, then in 1 case i got pregnant, and i am now at the 1 year stage after the second usage and have put one and a half stone back on.I hope xls works as well as reductil,we shall see. the no prescription side to these is good for me as i live in spain and going to my medical center is not a nice experience.

NowYouTellMe Sat 06-Oct-12 09:04:21

I noticed on another forum a warning not to take multi-vitamin tablets when taking these due to the Vitamin A content. Just wanted to make sure everyone was aware and good luck everyone!

KnockKnockPenny Sat 06-Oct-12 10:37:55

NowYouTellMe, you should also avoid liver forthe same reasons smile

You should also not take any other medication within 2 hours of taking the XLS pills, as it may not be absorbed. I have had to change the time that I take my contraceptive pill.

What forum were you reading about it?

NowYouTellMe Sat 06-Oct-12 10:51:51

I can't remember where I read it now, sorry.

NowYouTellMe Sun 07-Oct-12 19:54:05

Just wondering how you are all getting along with xls? I'm on day 3 and just eaten my first meal in 24hrs as I just don't have any desire to eat.........I felt very full after almost 3/4 of my usual Sunday Roast. I have been taking 1 tablet after breakfast and lunch (except today when I skipped both meal and tablet) and 2 after each evening dinner. I will force myself to eat breakfast in the morning no matter what as otherwise the whole exercise will be counter-productive. Hope it's working well for you all!

KnockKnockPenny Sun 07-Oct-12 21:24:19

Im on day 5, andnot noticing anything different at all. I doubt I will have much weightloss when I weigh on Tuesday/Wednesday.

ElectricSoftParade Sun 07-Oct-12 21:29:08

I have definitely lost some weight as my clothes are feeling a bit looser but I don't know how much as I haven't replaced my scales yet.

I am still feeling full and am pleased with this good start. Hopefully it will continue as I WILL NOT buy any clothes until I have got back down to 11 1/2 stone not even shoes, no.

idoloveabiscuit Mon 08-Oct-12 08:27:10

I have started on these today.

Was doing the 5:2 but on my non fast days was piling the weight back on. So it was two days of pain for absolutely no gain.

I've read some positive experiences of XLS so I'll let you know how I get on.

KnockKnockPenny Mon 08-Oct-12 08:43:27

Good luck everyone! I really hope these work for me.

KnockKnockPenny Mon 08-Oct-12 09:59:23

Started last Tuesday, did a sneaky weigh-in, and as expected I weigh exactly the same.

WeightyKaty Mon 08-Oct-12 13:42:44

I lost 12 lbs using these in about May time but have put the weight back on since moving house and being generally greedy. Last time I lost at least 2lbs a week.

However i have started again and will try for a month. Along with this I am largely trying to do a low GI diet with exercise of some sort 5 days a week.

Just logged into the website and its really poor for tracking food and exercise as so much stuff is missing. So I'll carry on with MFP to track. I also need to work out when is best to take my pill.

KnockKnockPenny Tue 09-Oct-12 09:24:22

Ok, I have had my proper weigh in, after exactly 1 week one these with no change in diet I have lost 1.5lbs.

BeckyS723 Tue 09-Oct-12 09:47:17

If you're on Twitter, I've just seen that XLS are running a giveaway to win a 12 week trial pack (Could be worth it if you're unsure about buying them!)

MorrisZapp Tue 09-Oct-12 12:28:49

Mine arrived this morning. Operation muffin top kicks off today!

WeightyKaty Tue 09-Oct-12 12:40:58

I have fat free yoghurt and 60g or oats for breakfast - should I still take 2 pills? Thanks

KnockKnockPenny Tue 09-Oct-12 13:25:07

I probably wouldnt take any, there is no fat in that meal and they only work on fat.

KnockKnockPenny Tue 09-Oct-12 13:26:38

Sorry, there rae fats in oats, but I only take 1 pill at breakfast.

awaywego1 Tue 09-Oct-12 13:49:06

Can I just ask if you can take them 'as and when' ie if I have a day of eating very low fat can I just not take the tablets and take them when I have a fatty meal?

KnockKnockPenny Tue 09-Oct-12 18:38:42

You could do it that way if you like. No point taking them if you are eating low fat! It does say on the packet you can use them as & when, as a weigth control, when you have reached your desired weight smile

WeightyKaty Wed 10-Oct-12 08:02:42

Just to update-I have been taking them for 2 days and was down a lb yesterday and another 1.8 today. I am making really healthy choices and tracking on myfitnesspal. I see xls as just helping me along a bit and er making me go to the loo more blush

KnockKnockPenny Wed 10-Oct-12 10:48:31

Weird they are making you go to the loo more, I thought they had no side effects shock

WeightyKaty Wed 10-Oct-12 11:08:55

Maybe its all the veg I am eating too...tmi but have gone from once every 36 hours to 2x a day.

KnockKnockPenny Wed 10-Oct-12 13:46:40

Better out that in! grin

KnockKnockPenny Wed 10-Oct-12 13:47:31

Noticing an appetite reduction now ... it's fab! Didnt want breakfast, had a ham salad & mayo for lunch and now feel stuffed. Weird.

WeightyKaty Wed 10-Oct-12 13:53:31

I normally have a WW bar or choc or crisps in the afternoon but don't need it currently and just have supper at 7 rather than later.

KnockKnockPenny Thu 11-Oct-12 12:24:03

The appetite supressent has well & truly kicked in! Its worth buying these for that fact alone smile

wellhellodolly Thu 11-Oct-12 13:09:43

I started these on Monday and I am definitely noticing I'm fuller for longer and I can't finish my meals.

XmontanaX Thu 11-Oct-12 14:00:08

I started these 4 days ago, usually take one with breakfast, 2 with lunch and 3 at tea time as this is usually the meal with most fat for me. Weighing myself weekly so not sure how it's going but my appetite has definitely decreased, stopped grazing and sticking to 3 meals a day. Hope this works as I have tried every fad going!

KnockKnockPenny Thu 11-Oct-12 16:18:01

Good luck everyone smile

Jpowerjones1987 Thu 11-Oct-12 16:54:11

I started using these last friday, my appetite hasnt change and i dont feel like ive lost any weight, how long do they take to start working?

SMacLeod Thu 11-Oct-12 18:11:25

I bought these with high hopes but they did not stop my appetite or my sweet tooth. Didnt work for me in the slightest. I then bought innoveat two months ago which is a fat binder, appetite suppresar and fat burner and I love the results I have been getting. My weight has dropped from fifteen stonessix pounds to fourteen stonesfive pounds. My friends have all just bough theres and cant wait to see the results.

KnockKnockPenny Thu 11-Oct-12 18:21:15

Jpower, think it is different for everyone, mine took about a week to start working.

Jpowerjones1987 Thu 11-Oct-12 18:58:24

I hope they'll start working soon, i bought 3 months worth. How long were you taking the xls for smacleod?

cheli1234 Thu 11-Oct-12 21:26:43

Hya peeps! Just gt ma months supply 2day! smile going tae start them 2morro! So here goes! Wish me luck! Coz a really need it! Haha!, will keeps ues awe updated! And good luck to every freaking 1 who's doing it..

WeightyKaty Fri 12-Oct-12 11:45:12

I'm 4lbs down in 4 days - think it must be first week success but hope I can stick to 2lbs a week.

Sorelip Fri 12-Oct-12 13:21:09

I've been taking these for about 3 days now. My appetite has definitely reduced. I'll report back at the end of October.

Pietles Fri 12-Oct-12 17:34:08

Hi, I started these yesterday. Have cut down a lot over last 7 weeks and losing weight steadily but want a boost. Im normally always hungry though! Anyway I had an Asda curry and a small naan last night and took three tablets afterwards. Have to say I didnt want breakfast this morning. Had some soup and bread for lunch at 12 and havent been hungry since! Thats my initial report! Hope it lasts!

bangersnmash Fri 12-Oct-12 19:44:22

I started yesterday . Will report back with results . Got mine from amazon which seemed the cheapest and super fast delivery courtesy of the amazon family offer via mumsnet grin

KnockKnockPenny Sun 14-Oct-12 09:24:34

Have ordered my next lot. £17 in amazon!

chocolatespiders Sun 14-Oct-12 12:09:37

Thanks for the amazon info... cheap on there, just bought some after losing 2 stone on WW i have come to a stand still and need to push this along.

chickenlips15 Sun 14-Oct-12 18:36:47

can anyone tell me how they feel on a daily basis when taking xls??i mean apart from the satiety....does your body generally feelthe same without the hunger or has anyone had jitters or headaches or anything??i suffer with anxiety and the only thing that frightens me is my body feeling...erm...different lol...anyone understand this crazylady??lol

KnockKnockPenny Sun 14-Oct-12 19:37:09

Not a thing. I have felt 100% fine the whole time (12 days) that I have been taking them.

bangersnmash Mon 15-Oct-12 12:32:37

I'm on day 4 now . No real weight loss yet , but have had a heavy weekend food wise . Those using this , how long did it take to 'kick in' ? Am feeling fine and no horrible side effects yet to report .

KnockKnockPenny Mon 15-Oct-12 16:29:29

What do you mean by kick in? I had soem appetite reduction after about a week, but nothing besides that. It starts binding fat as soon as you take the first pill, if thats what you mean?

bangersnmash Mon 15-Oct-12 17:09:26

Hmmm . Then I'm not seeing any effects yet then . I must admit that I do feel a little constipated ( sorry if TMI) so have stepped up the water intake . As I said , was out a lot over the weekend do probably not fair to judge yet .

How much have you lost knockknock ? Are you calorie counting as well ?

KnockKnockPenny Mon 15-Oct-12 17:40:38

No change to my diet, lost 1.5lb the first week and weigh in again tomorrow. I was eating above 2000 cals aday in my 1st week. My appetite has reduced sincethen, so I am guessing I am eating less cals too.

stelidh Mon 15-Oct-12 17:52:32

Can anyone please tell me the difference between the fat blocker, the carbs ones or the appetite suppressors (spelling??!! oops!)... Which tablets are best?!

Spannerfingers Mon 15-Oct-12 19:34:39

Hi all, I started to use xls medical towards the end of last week, I found this site searching for results, so I thought I'd share mine.

I didn't weight myself at first as I thought I'd do the month and weight at weekly points, how wrong I was, in the first 2 days I Lost 2 and a half pounds. Then the next 2 I lost 4 and three quarter pounds.

I am taking 6 pills a day.
Reducing my portions a bit.
Eating fruit.
Not snacking......that's the difficult bit,
Drinking water, not coffee
Walk 1.5miles a day, increasing this to 3miles from this week.

In reality I feel fuller for longer, in the morning I'm not craving food, I can wait till i get to work for breakfast, No 11am cravings, i have a smaller lunch, no headaches, no illness, no funny business in the toilet, also I noticed I'm not tired and feeling sleepy when I get home (some times had a nap about 6pm, I get up at 5am).

All in all I'm happy so far, I'm going to do it for the month, and see where I end up. Ideally I want to lose a few stone, so hopefully it won't hit the wall too early on.

Lets get motivated.

ilovesprouts Mon 15-Oct-12 19:43:39

hi can anyone send me link so i can read the pros and cons and price please .

KnockKnockPenny Mon 15-Oct-12 20:39:30

Googling brings up a lot of stuff. The only con i think of so far is the price, though they are much cheaper on Amazon, and that they can bung you up slightly.
Pros are that they bind 27% of dietry fat, are 100% natural and dont really have any side effects.
I got 120 for £17 on Amazon, which lasts around 3 weeks. They are a LOT more at Boots!

KnockKnockPenny Mon 15-Oct-12 20:41:26

Stel, only the fat binders are medically approved/tested in the UK so I wouldnt use the others.

KnockKnockPenny Tue 16-Oct-12 10:48:50

2 weeks in, no major change to diet (just the appetie reduction from the pills) and I am 7kbs down smile

KnockKnockPenny Tue 16-Oct-12 10:49:09

7lbs, sorry.

bellabasil1 Tue 16-Oct-12 12:37:31

Well done knockknockpenny! I've bought some today after losing nearly 3stone through exercise and eating well but now it's reached a plateau and I am lacking motivation atm so I'm hoping these will help me lose another stone by the end of Nov to help me get closer to my personal target of losing 5stone before the years out.

WeightyKaty Tue 16-Oct-12 14:04:48

I'm still at 4lbs down after a week but that is in part because I had a v naughty weekend but now back on track.

Wackyjoe Tue 16-Oct-12 18:53:13

Hi all have been on these pills for 5 days now haven't weighed myself but defo don't feel any different . Also haven't been to the toilet in 5 days ! And I'm not talking about peeing . Worried I'm constipated and pills not working

Wackyjoe Tue 16-Oct-12 20:06:09

Do they work if ur constipated anyone ?

Are the tablets big? I'm rubbish at swallowing large tablets and don't want to spend £££ to find out I can't take them. I used to gag on pregnacare and even threw up after taking it a few times so if they are as big as them, probably not for me...

KnockKnockPenny Tue 16-Oct-12 21:17:23

Wacky, constipation wont stop them working. it is listed as a possible side efect, its listed in the leaflet you got withyour pills.

titsup - They are quite large I'm afarid sad

Wackyjoe Tue 16-Oct-12 21:34:01

Dd u feel bloated at all the first 5 days ?

Spannerfingers Wed 17-Oct-12 09:28:20

Drink more water if your constipated,

Perhaps more soft fruit as well.

KnockKnockPenny Wed 17-Oct-12 12:11:12

I did have some bloating, I cut out all fizzy drinks & that solved it for me.

Spannerfingers Wed 17-Oct-12 20:09:11

Ummm, fizzy drinks

I've been on carbonated water as I can't stand still water, I think I'll have to lose that little pleasure and suffer some more, oh the perils of being eye candy.

KateeBee Wed 17-Oct-12 20:40:25

Does anyone know how many calories each tablet contains ;-)
I've been using these 2days and have lost 4lbs. My story is similar to many others on this thread, i'm about 3 stone over weight, started 2:5 diet and jogging a few months back, but weight loss was very slow (6lbs in 6 weeks). Wanted a boost so bought 120 xls from amazon (was worried they might be fake as so much cheaper than everywhere else, but they seem to be working). Appetite is reduced and so far so good for weight loss - I've only bought a 1 month supply but will report back when done......

Wackyjoe Wed 17-Oct-12 22:33:16

Do u think u can actually put weight on with these tablets , feeling that way at,the min

KnockKnockPenny Thu 18-Oct-12 07:32:39

I suppose if you eat a lot you could.

bangersnmash Thu 18-Oct-12 11:39:11

I'm on day 6 now and my appetite has dropped dramatically this last 24 hours . I've lost 3 lbs so far but these are the annoying 3 lbs that have been yo-yo'ing for a while . Hence trying these pills . Will report back after the weekend with progress .

LovingMyMurtletheBlackTurtle Thu 18-Oct-12 12:09:54

Hi all,
Have recently become a member, after stumbling across this thread after looking into XSL medical. I am thinking about giving this a go,I have currently been taking capsiplex which has helped speed up my weight lose. I haven't experienced any side effects from it. I don't know wether to stick to it or try something else, thing is it is cheaper and you only need take one a day. Maybe I've answered my own question!
Good luck all,it's nice to hear how everyone is getting on :0)

Furball Thu 18-Oct-12 12:57:48

I'm in on this as well

just bought 10 days supply as I know I can't be trusted to take the darn things.

daren't look on amazon as it's dh's account and they very kindly show what you have been browsing. and he'd say it's poppycock. I bought mine for £20 for 10 days worth. I know, I know..........but......................

I have been on a diet for 10 years.........as that info tells you I am crap at it...........I am not expecting a miracle pill but a help in the right direction would be a start smile

KateeBee Thu 18-Oct-12 16:14:10

Blackturtle, the reason I am using xls rather than capsiplex or innoveat (mentioned in another post) is that they are endorsed by Boots the Chemist, so I have a bit more faith that they are not rip off capsule. I believe there are many unscrupulous bas*ar*s out there who would be happy exploit women's anxieties about weight to get rich quick. I guess I just don't trust beauty drugs if they are not endorsed by either the NHS or a large reputable pharma company.

KnockKnockPenny Thu 18-Oct-12 16:32:54

Slightly buged up today, more water I think?

Spannerfingers Thu 18-Oct-12 17:55:53

I'm still losing weight, but only in the 1lb or less region per day.

I walked so far yesterday that I've blistered my feet and can't walk today, ouch.

Foolishly I've set a personal target of dropping a full stone (on top of exsting loss) within the next week, so I'm forgoing a lot, alcohol, fruit, fizzy water, bread and portion sizes.

Motivate me people pls.

KnockKnockPenny Thu 18-Oct-12 18:21:34

A stone in a week? shock is that even possible? O think you have set your goal too high tbh.

Eaves Thu 18-Oct-12 18:39:20

Hi , i started xls medical a week ago , I'm currently attending slimming world and have so far lost 9lbs in a month smile , however last week and the week before my weigh loss slowed right down to 1lb a week so bought these , I'm going to my weigh in toniinhaled have not as yet weighed myself as I never do throughout the week and tend to do it once a week at my slimming world weigh in , I will let you all know if ive lost any lbs later on tOnight !!! FIngers crossed , I'm hoping these work and I've got atleast another 2 stone to lose by febuary for my hols smile

cheli1234 Thu 18-Oct-12 18:55:05

Day 6 of been on these tablets, appitite has reduced, however and don't seem to have lost any weight what so ever! sad starting to think, I've wasted my money now...

melacmark Thu 18-Oct-12 19:11:23

I have just finished my first box of 30,i have lost 8 pounds but i am feeling hungry today as i was yesterday,as i said before i have taken reductil before and the loss of appetite with them is much more noticeable, but these are better than nothing as hunger is the reason for my failure as a dieter. The box of 30 incedently lasted me 10 days.

melacmark Thu 18-Oct-12 19:14:58

I have been following weight watchers as well as taking xls,you can't just take these and expect them to do all the work for you you have to control portion size as well as fat and calories, these are supposed to just speed up the results and help with the hunger and energy.

Furball Thu 18-Oct-12 19:28:58

How many do you take melacmark?

I've just bought a box of 60 for 10 days which I understand to take 1, 2 and 3 per day. Can I eek out more days than that for my dollar?

Eaves Thu 18-Oct-12 19:44:05

Hi , just been for my weigh in at slimming and I've lost 2.5lbs in a week on these which is a very healthy weight loss ! I'd say these have definitely helped to kick start my weight loss again , 11.5lbs lost so far !!!! :D :D

KnockKnockPenny Thu 18-Oct-12 21:02:45

Well done Eaves!

Furball, I take netween 5 or 6 a day.

0 if the meal has zero fat in it (no point then)
1 for a light breakfast
2 for a normal lunch or dinner
3 for a particularly heavy/fatty meal

LovingMyMurtletheBlackTurtle Thu 18-Oct-12 21:53:35

KateeBee,totally agree with you :0). I've been buying the capsiplex from Holland and Barrett. And looking further into it XLS might be a better option financially! Although Holland an Barrett have a loyalty card and you soon clock up the vouchers! I'm a sucker I know! :0)

Furball Fri 19-Oct-12 10:22:27

thanks knockknock

I've started today and that is what I am planning to do

Barneybubble Fri 19-Oct-12 11:10:49

After reading all of your blogs I have ordered 120 tabs from amazon. I have lost 7.5lbs in 5 weeks on slimming world plan which is great but gets a bit boring so will try these so that I can have a take away or eat out at the weekends. I'm hoping that my weight loss speeds up slightly as was good last week and stayed the same weight. luckily I don't have too much to loose (10lb) but want to get it off for Xmas. Will keep you posted on progress.

XmontanaX Fri 19-Oct-12 21:27:57

Lost 7.5lbs in 10 days. Woop!

KnockKnockPenny Sat 20-Oct-12 10:47:48

Wow, well done!

Ellen2418 Sat 20-Oct-12 13:43:49

I haven't heard of these new diet pills but I used another make called FULLfast which worked really well for me. I really struggled sticking to diets in the past because I always got bad cravings for things like bread and sugary foods and just felt hungry all of the time. A friend suggested FULLfast and from what I understand it's a natural plant extract that naturally helps balance the hormones in your brain responsible for cravings and mood swings. However it works, it definitely worked for me! I wasn't expecting much but in a couple of days I found it much easier to stick to my diet and eventually I didn't get cravings at all. I've generally done low GI keeping a record on MyFitnessPal and so far have lost just under a stone in a month and a half! grin I can't recommend it highly enough.

dippyjack Sat 20-Oct-12 13:59:03

I have been on these for 7 days and have lost no weight :-( I have found that since taking them I have problems going to the loo (if you know what I mean) Any1 else having this problem??

dippyjack Sat 20-Oct-12 14:20:40

I have been on XLS Medical fat binder and not FULLfast. would be great if someone could tell me what I am doing wrong :-(

Spannerfingers Sat 20-Oct-12 15:21:35

Drink a lot of water during the day, perhaps a laxative if your in trouble.

Cjane22 Sat 20-Oct-12 18:49:41

After reading all of these reviews I have also just purchased 120 tabs from amazon for £18. I think that's a reasonable price to try them out.

I only want to loose a stone I'm not in no rush to loose it but I think if I take these tablets it will help me be more motives to go gym and eat more healthier.

I think the problem with me is that I don't eat breakfast , I drink 1 cup of coffee a day maybe 2 - don't drink enough water. At lunch I will usually have a tesco meal deal with 1 can of diet coke per day...and the occasional snack at work. Because I work such long hours I don't usually eat dinner till about 8/9 o clock at night which is usually chicken or steak or some sort of pasta , that is basically all I eat/drink throughout the day

What are your opinions on my diet as a pose to taking the tablets as im hoping to start next week !

Thanks guys hope it all goes well for you all aswel x

KateeBee Sat 20-Oct-12 22:01:00

Cjane, I'm no expert but I guess these tablets work best if you are eating 3 meals a day and not snacking as you're meant to take them straight after eating. But they do suppress your appetite so the snacking reduces by itself. So maybe if you just introduce a healthy breakfast then these would suit you down to the ground.

That said - if you only have a stone to shift then you're pretty perfect anyway so maybe save the cash. If you do go with these pills then up the water intake tho, I like others on this thread have noticed it's a bit tougher to poo!

JambalayaCodfishPie Sun 21-Oct-12 11:36:00

Just bought some of these to help lose the last bit of baby weight before I go back to work.

Tips I've picked up from the thread - drink more water, eat regular meals, more pills for fattier meals, may fart more. Is that about it? grin

Anything else I need to know?

Spannerfingers Sun 21-Oct-12 13:51:52

That's about it, but add portion control.

jenmumof4 Sun 21-Oct-12 22:26:56

Thought i would check out mumsnet for a bit of info re xls, i have been on them for a week and have lost zero, my diets not so bad but snacking and skipping breakfast was a prob, reading this i know exactly why i haven't shifted a pound!, cos all the fat thats been bound by some super duper fibre complex is sitting in my bowels!!, they should def big up the need to drown yourself so youve some hope of going to the loo, alternatively amazon could do a frequently brought together offer for xls and super laxatives!

bangersnmash Mon 22-Oct-12 09:06:12

Ok post weekend report on this .
Well good news ! Managed to shift 5lbs since I started with these 9 days ago . Probably not as much as others have lost , but these have been troublesome lbs to loose . I have been plateaued at the same weight for about 6 weeks . So if nothing else they have kick started the weight loss again .
Will carry on and see where I get to .
One thing I have learnt is that you really need to drink more water whilst on these. Other than that no side effects at all smile

KnockKnockPenny Mon 22-Oct-12 09:33:31

Jen, I havent had much of a problem with my bowels? Im losing weight (fast) and going to the toilet normally most days. I still eat chocolate & other treats.

KnockKnockPenny Mon 22-Oct-12 09:34:22

Well done Bangers smile

loveteaandcake Mon 22-Oct-12 18:37:40

Hello I wasn't going to come on here but...
i've been following an eating plan and decided i needed a kick start
so for last 5 days been taking these pills and lost 3lb
no problems either with normal movements!!! drink plenty anyway!!!

Binkyboo123 Mon 22-Oct-12 20:56:04

I started the Slimming World plan 3 weeks ago. Looking at the positive reviews for XLS medical, I thought I'd give them a try. This is my weight loss so far (need to lose about 3 stone in total):

Week 1 - lost 3lb without XLS medical
Week 2 - lost 2lb without XLS medical
Week 3 - lost 1.5lb with XLS medical

So not exactly a convincing weight loss with these this week! I will try them for another week and see how it goes. I am slightly bunged up too with these - seems strange as they are supposed a natural source of fibre!

Binkyboo123 Mon 22-Oct-12 20:57:08

suppose to be a natural source of fibre!

KateeBee Mon 22-Oct-12 21:37:25

Binkyboo, well done half a stone in 3 weeks is brilliant - and most of it done the proper way of sensible diet. I hope the xls kick in next week! If not save your cash!

I lost 4 lbs the first 2 days on these - but not one pound since (5 more days) however I am due on my period so might be due to water retention. I'm finishing the months supply before deciding if I love them or not as I guess there are too many variable things week by week to really know if they are helping or not.

nicpicpoo Mon 22-Oct-12 22:41:24

hi ive been on xls since last tues didnt hav any loss till saturday and had lost 2lbs im resisting the temtation to get on the scales till nxt saturday i think a weekly weigh in is better, i havnt felt hungry which is good so havnt snacked as i normaly do im really hoping for results as since turning 50 i have put on 3 stone! im encouraged by some of the posts here i just hope it works for me ive never had to diet before so keeping my portions small (which i am doing) is hard, il keep you posted.

Sammyboy12 Tue 23-Oct-12 13:39:32

Do you think it would also be safe to take adios with xls....?

Spannerfingers Tue 23-Oct-12 17:15:35

The weight is coming back,

cacamilis Tue 23-Oct-12 18:39:41

Hi guys, I am so glad I found this thread, there is so little chat or reviews on xls. I work in Boots and bought these today using my points. All the pharmacists I have met through work rave about them but have not used them personally. I am going to use them while doing slimming world. Weekends are my worst time so hopefully these will help. I actually started these 3 days ago, I had a few left from a free sample I got earlier in the year. I have noticed I am comfortably full most of the time.

spannerfinger are you still sticking to the diet and taking the pills?

Payback Tue 23-Oct-12 21:57:31

Was on these for about a week and developed a headache for about 3 days. I went off them and headache vanished. I am going to try again but wondered did anyone else experience this????

Spannerfingers Wed 24-Oct-12 12:57:43

I sure am,

In fact I've been takin a supplement of Acai 1500mg three times a day as well.

AnnaLouise2012 Wed 24-Oct-12 13:17:57

Hi guys, I've been using these for nearly 3 weeks and have lost around 10lb so far which I've been pleased about. I've had to be quite strict about portion control and have tried to do a bit more walking. I haven't suffered from any headaches but have been trying to drink plenty of water too! Just stocked up on my next batch from Chemist Direct and saved about £25 on a month's supply!

mummyellie Wed 24-Oct-12 22:25:46

Hi, I started these a week ago today. I've been following the slimming world plan, and after a really bad week (gained 2lbs - should have been more), I thought "it can't hurt" and started the next day. Weigh in tonight and I've lost 4lbs - far more than my usual 1lb without any more effort. I've been reasonably good, but so far, I'm pretty convinced the rest is down to the xls. Next week will be the real test. I've also read the paper (in a respected scientific journal) and it looks like they really do work (they won't make you thin overnight, but if you're watching what you eat, they will boost your weight loss). Thank you to everyone on this thread - if I hadn't read the positive reviews, I might not have tried and would probably be 4lbs heavier this week!

KnockKnockPenny Thu 25-Oct-12 08:06:02

Great stuff Anna & mummy smile

KateeBee Thu 25-Oct-12 19:36:03

Spannerfingers - how much how fast? I've not had the best couple of weeks either - after an initial loss of half a stone or so the weight loss has just stopped despite me doing the 2:5 diet, running and going to spin classes. I'm gutted and totally demotivated! Going to complete the months course, but will not be buying more unless the weight starts to shift again!

Spannerfingers Thu 25-Oct-12 20:51:51

Kateebee, I lost nearly 10lbs in a week. And felt great, then it went bad for the next week, constipated, tired, gained the 10lbs back. Now in the 3rd week I've lost 6lb approx, I have eaten more fruit than a green grocers rat, 1 meal of toast & peanut butter for breakfast. A tuna wrap & fruit for lunch and lean meat, veg for dinner. No snacks other than fruit. I was however drinking flavoured sparkling water which turned out to be horrifically high in calories, much higher than i thought, so I've stopped that, I can't stand water, but I'm drinking it now 3-4 litres a day. I'm sure the water was a big factor in the gain. I'll finish off the month, and see how I feel then.

bangersnmash Sat 27-Oct-12 09:11:44

Another update from me ....
Well I'm 2 weeks in now and have lost 7lbs . This has put me under a significant milestone that I've been struggling to get to . Very happy today grin. Got another half stone to go to get to target weight .
Not sure it's all as a direct result of using XLS . Might be a bit of that , me watching closely what I've eaten and the placebo affect . The real test will me fitting in a slinky dress in 2 weeks time for a 'do' I'm going to !

loveteaandcake Sat 27-Oct-12 09:41:35

well done- what ever the reason you are doing so well
next weigh in on monday- lost 3 first week will let you know...

Boobelle67 Sat 27-Oct-12 11:14:35

I've been following thread for a while but decided to just join WW online due to side effects reported by others here. I tried WW diet but gave up as I either didn't lose weight or was permanantly hungry. A colleague has recently lost weight and when I asked her for her tips she said she has just cut out wine and that she had taken XLS Medical tablets so I decided to give it a go.

I didn't like the 123 diet online diet plan that came with the pack so for the past week I have been following WW online again and taking XLS tablets. Today is my week one weigh day and I've lost 8.25lbs!!! Still got lots to go but these tablets are definitely working for me so far. I've made sure I eat fruit and vegetables with every meal, and completely cut out wine (ie alcohol), and because of side effects mentioned by others I've made sure I've drunk plenty of water, always drinking at least 0.5litre of water when taking the tablets (I've taken 2 with every meal, except yesterday when I just had fruit for breakfast as I was going out for lunch so took 3 after my meal out).

I haven't seen any side effects yet (and my colleague didn't have any). My colleague is a vegetarian and I'm not, so the only mirror in our diets is that we have both cut out alcohol. For me, I see a huge difference taking these tablets from when I followed the same diet 2 months ago but didn't lose any weight. I feel much healthier in just a week, and I haven't been hungry at all.

So ... keep you fingers crossed for me please that the XLS tablets keep working (albeit I know the weight loss will slow down) - and I'll post back next Saturday with my results. x

KateeBee Sat 27-Oct-12 15:19:18

Well done boobelle, a lot of us saw a big drop in the first week - then a bit of a slow down, so don't be too disheartened if the rate does not stay quite so high.

Something spannerfingers said made me think.... This may be obvious, but it is called a 'fat binder' I guess if your calorie intake is from sugar like spannerfingers fizzy water then it will have no effect.

I'm going to try eliminating sugar! I've still not lost 1lb in 10 days! Might also buy new scales. I can lose or gain half a stone by just getting off and on again so there is an element of guess work in my weigh-ins, I might be being a pessimist!

Shellycdn Sat 27-Oct-12 16:48:05

Have found this thread when looking at using xls and it helped for me and my partner to make a decision to get some. As there were varying results and also some people having side effect we bought a month pack and split it between us to trial for 2 weeks.
We have now done one complete week with neither of us having any side effects whatsoever, we both eat the same diet which is slimming world, my partner has lost an amazing 10lbs in one week, and being a big guy it was probably expected for a bigger loss.
For me unfortunately it's a different story, have only lost 1.5lb, although it is still a loss I would have expected more. My reasoning for joining slimming world in the first place is because I have PCOS and we are in the beginning stages of going for IVF but need to lose at least 7st before our first treatment can start. After 9 weeks I still have only lost 7lb which has been disheartening, so the option of using xls was quite an easy one to help boost the weight loss, along with SW and exercise.
I do know that PCOS messes with weight loss and gains but was hoping this was my solution. I am going to give the second week a go as if could be my body just balancing itself out.

KateeBee Sat 27-Oct-12 21:05:16

Shellycdn, firstly I want to send you masses of luck for the weight loss & IVF. But I also wonder have you talked to your Dr before starting on xls? I want to stress that I know F. all about medical stuff and F. all about nutrition so I could be speaking bullocks.... But, I remember reading that PCOS and vitamin D deficiency are linked - xls states that coz vitamins A D and E are fat soluble the tablets can stop uptake in the gut (therefore they are added as supliments). It might be fine, but if it was me I would check with my GP. I've had friends with PCOS and I know weight loss is horrendously difficult so I hope it's fine to take xls and I hope it really, really helps. :-( poor you.

nicpicpoo Sat 27-Oct-12 23:58:47

well i have to say im disapointed i lost 2lbs first week but nothing since, ive been on them for almost 2 weeks i have been keeping my portiond small and drinking loads of water but its just not happening i will see my months supply through but im having doubts that these pills will work for me!

bexlou1980 Sun 28-Oct-12 07:27:26

Hi all..... i've not long been told about xls medical so thought i'd give them a go!! Am just about to start day 3 so early days yet. After my 6 year old was born i took phentermine and lost nearly 3 1/2 stone but this time they didn't really work and gave me palpatations!! Its taken me 2 years to put half of it back on!! Can't carry on like this!! Got the xls off Amazon - what a fantastic offer as they are nearly £50 in Boots!! Love reading all your posts! Good luck!! x

Spannerfingers Sun 28-Oct-12 09:02:04

Morning all,

I'm down another few lbs, I'm struggling to eat more than 2 meals some days? I don't know if anyone else is getting this feeling / side effect, could be the fuller longer effect, but I didn't think it would last that long.

Yesterday I had
2x toast (brown bread) & peanut butter 2x xls
2 x whole meal wraps, chicken breast, peppers, tomato salsa. 2x xls

Ummmm, alcohol, I'm partial to some rosé of an evening.......right now it's my only treat, but it looks like ill be forgoing it for a bit to see if it helps.

Shellycdn Sun 28-Oct-12 11:39:19

Hi kateebee
Have not spoke to dr, but will look into what u have mentioned further, so thanks for the info x

bexlou1980 Mon 29-Oct-12 08:51:59

Hi..... did anyone find that they put weight on initially before they started losing? I'm probably a bit impatient..... I'm on day 4 and have put on 1 1/2 lbs......

KnockKnockPenny Mon 29-Oct-12 09:30:35

Have you increased your eating habits?

Spannerfingers Mon 29-Oct-12 17:05:17

You need to reduce portion size and drink water, lots of water

bexlou1980 Mon 29-Oct-12 21:10:43

Hi i have found since yesterday that i can't physically eat as much. maybe its just some water retention.

Modetta Wed 31-Oct-12 16:29:06

Hi I've been taking xls medical for 10 days and have lost 3lbs but I now have an ear infection and am on antibiotics ( no connection of course) does anyone know if I can still take xls medical? It's really annoying as I've got off to such a good start!

Spannerfingers Wed 31-Oct-12 17:16:51

They are natural, so I don't see why not.

Modetta Wed 31-Oct-12 20:43:27

I thought there might a problem with absorbing medication when taking fat binders. I've decided to continue taking xls med and then taking the antibiotics at least 2 hours later. See what happens

Spannerfingers Thu 01-Nov-12 20:39:35

I'm convinced these are a 5 minute wonder.

Getskinnyordietrying Fri 02-Nov-12 00:01:41

Why the change or heart? You seemed optimistic/pleased with results?

After checking this thread for a few weeks I purchased a months supply on Monday started on Tuesday and have lost 3lbs no side effects no added exercise but smaller portions due to lack of hunger pangs

bexlou1980 Fri 02-Nov-12 08:04:28

so.... update, beginning of day 7. The initial weight i thought had gone on has gone and i weigh exactly the same as i started at the beginning. Not eating between meals, a little bit of an appetite suppression. And oh my goodness the wind!! Has anyone else experienced that? I am sure I have heard that it can take a week for the tablets to start working.... has anyone else noticed this? What are everyones experiences of how many days til the tablets started working? x

Getskinnyordietrying Fri 02-Nov-12 09:57:16

Just read on watchdog website they "kick-in" after 3 days. Xls website says two tablets after each meal. I've been having one after breakfast two with lunch and three with dinner....not sure what to do now??????

Shellycdn Sat 03-Nov-12 11:47:48

Well second week done and I have only lost 1lb, partner has done 2, still disappointed with the low weight losses for me, but have decided to continue for another month on them to at least give them a fair trial. Also saved money on the new months tablets as well pharmacy first have the 180 pack got £29.98, with only £3.49 delivery, or if u order over £40 it's free delivery using 2nd class post.

Have not found that my hunger has been suppressed though, in fact occasionally I am waking up starving around 3 in the morning!!

Am also going to take some vitamins, as per older post relating to the vitamin D. This is because the hormone and nutrient imbalance with someone with pcos depletes it, which I was not aware of so fingers crossed for next week.

juneybean Sat 03-Nov-12 14:15:44

If I use myfitnesspal, how many pills per grams of fat per meal do you generally take? Like say a meal had 20g of fat, would you take 2, and anything under 20g just one?

Spannerfingers Sat 03-Nov-12 20:20:36

The reason is it as screwed up my stomach something terrible, the first 2 weeks were ok, after that it was crippling constipation, wind, bloating and weight came back although I was eating less than 4 weeks earlier.

If anything these may be the quick fix to drop a few pounds for that special night out etc, but they are not long term.

bexlou1980 Sat 03-Nov-12 21:16:08

day 8....... woohoo i've lost 2 1/2 lbs!!!! very happy and relieved!!! the wind has settle a bit too, gonna stick with this now!!

I have just ordered 120 pack of XLS tablets so they should arrive Monday (next day delivery) on the back of this thread smile

I want to lose 2 stone in as many months so need all the help I can get smile

bluetea Mon 05-Nov-12 13:32:22

It is great to read these threads, thanks guys! I have been thinking about taking these for a while now, so it is good to hear that they seem to work for most people. I have a 4 month old and have put on so much weight since having him. I feel so fat and unsexy. I am going to place my amazon order right now!! I will update as soon as I can, but in the meantime, I look forward to reading everyone else's stories! Good Luck!

Spannerfingers thanks for the reply - I've noticed a few possible side effects although I'm guessing could be put down to other factors for example slight change in diet /stopping smoking and giving up caffeine all on the same day!

I purchased a months supply and have been taking them for a week today (also stopped smoking last Tuesday and have up caffeine - I have a major coffee / diet coke addiction) so far I have lost 3 1/4 lbs. step in the right direction as I have 3stone to loose setting a target of 4lbs this week and plan to start moving more will keep you posted! Keep up the good work everyone stay motivated x

juneybean Tue 06-Nov-12 15:32:47

Well done on your loss so far getskinny !

Mer766 Wed 07-Nov-12 07:07:26

Can I ask the guys with success stories which pills u are using from the range is it the fat binder or the appetite management pills my biggest problem is never feeling full I want that feeling of being hungry to go

Spannerfingers Wed 07-Nov-12 17:39:10

Drink more water through the day.

derrydelfin Wed 07-Nov-12 22:51:44

Goon68 Thu 08-Nov-12 08:44:25

Ok this is gonna sound gross but with Alli I had a prob with gas and with that gas came the excess fat from food (sorry sorry for TMI but it was a big prob), can anyone tell me if the same 'side affect' happens with these?? :-s

Getskinnyordietrying Thu 08-Nov-12 10:18:22

I had wind at first but completely went after few days (been on these just over a week) nothing too terrible easily disguised or blamed on dog lol

Had a sneaky weigh in and am down another pound in two days! I'm impressed as 1Ib in weight is equal to a 3000calorie deficit (fact)

lillybell30 Thu 08-Nov-12 12:41:19

Hi everyone, i have just purchased these from amazon (still waiting for them to arrive) and having read everyones posts i am looking forward to starting them. The thing i am worried about is that i am not classed as over weight and my BMI is normal for a 30 year old at my height. The reason i want help in losing weigt is to make myself feel a bit better as i look in the mirror and hate the reflection, i dont eat breakfast and just have quite a few cups of coffee throughout the day then have tea with my children at around 6. Is it worth me taking these and if i do, does that mean i will have to start eating more to actually get some results? dont want to put any weight on and thats what im scared of. Thank you and good luck to everyone trying to gain their goals!!

clairelouise16 Thu 08-Nov-12 14:02:38

Just completed the stoptober challenge and before that i was cutting down and slowly loosing weight but as i stopped smoking the cravings kicked in so just ate everything in sight. not good put 1stone on in just under 5 weeks so need a really big kick up the bum.
been on the xls medical for 3 full days now, not feeling much of a difference but have changed my diet a lot and started doing more exercise. not noticed a curb in my appetite but not snacked and just gone through the hunger. Not been to toilet yet which is quite worrying.
could do with a buddy to talk to throughout the process
my email is clairelouisehague@gmail.com

Spannerfingers Thu 08-Nov-12 17:26:41

Lillybell, are you eating enough fat to get the benefit from XLS?

I'd say you aren't, just coffee thru the day till 6pm isn't enough

Sorry but my 2p worth

Spannerfingers Thu 08-Nov-12 17:29:01

Clairelouise16, drink lots of water, and fruit then the "blockage" will move

take a good 1+ mile walk daily.

Reduce portion sizes

Chew your food a dozen times before you swallow it

Spannerfingers Thu 08-Nov-12 18:00:22

I'm back on for another month, I'm down a stone from the 1st month.

I find it a yoyo weight loss/ gain effect, big losses, small gains but overall a loss.

Small changes help, no fizzy drinks, no sweet snacks, no crisps etc, not for me anyways.......they are in the house for others

Roll on the next 4 weeks

Goon68 Thu 08-Nov-12 19:02:37

Thanx folks! I had a prob with the excess fat 'exiting' when I went to the loo - soooooo sorry again for TMI!! Just wondered if these were the same? Thank you so much for advice, I am desperate to get down a couple of dress sizes for my sons Graduation! Thank you!! :0)

derrydelfin Thu 08-Nov-12 23:39:55

iam just wondering.do we eat more fatty foods for Xls works.i didnt understand.iam not normally fatty so much but sometimes goes outof control like kebabs.like today i had normal fried eggs breakfast i had 1tablet after and didnt have lunch at 3 i had chicken nughets and 2 tablet.also chillies is very good for if cant do ur big toilet.take 2 or 3 chilly green pepper i prefare pickels and really works for next morning.)if we cant do big loo we will easy to put on weight u know.

Getskinnyordietrying Fri 09-Nov-12 19:09:36

What's everyone eaten today? I've fallen off the wagon slightly and want to compare

NikNox41 Fri 09-Nov-12 20:43:34

I have been dieting for the best part of six months, just eating less fat, less calories etc to lose 2 stone. I reached a 1.5 stone weight loss about 6 weeks ago & just stayed there. So, I bought just a weeks supply of Xls (being the sceptical type) and started them on Wednesday. Ive lost 2lb already & am so impressed I'm going to buy a months worth! They defintitely work, can't be my imagination! No side effects either (so far!)

knobbyhollis Sat 10-Nov-12 16:37:09

Hi guys after reading your posts decided to give xls medical ago been taking them for 2 days now slight headache and little bowel movement drinking plenty of water I know it's early days yet just hope it works

Goon68 Sun 11-Nov-12 09:14:32

Sorry to ask but when you have a bowel movement does the excess fat also come out? This happened with Alli and it was so embarrassing, I was unable to even pass wind without 'fat' coming out. I coulnt go through that again!!

JambalayaWarmMincePie Sun 11-Nov-12 09:36:16

Crapricorn Sun 11-Nov-12 10:20:41

Hello all,
I am currently doing pretty well on a generally low cal/low fat diet. (23ib down!!!!) However I am beginning to worry about the Xmas challenges that are looming. I don't want to be a miserable party pooper but equally I dont want to undo all of my good work.
Do you think that these fat binders could be used on an ad hoc basis as a kind of damage limitation when I have a celebratory meal? I think that this might help me stay on the straight and narrow in between rather than descend into a 2 week binge!

NikNox41 Sun 11-Nov-12 13:03:18

Hi Crapricorn,

I'm thinking the same as you, and have seen somewhere (think it might have been on a Q&A somewhere) that if you have a particularly fatty meal or over-indulge, you can take 3 tablets and let them work their magic, without being on a course so to speak. I've lost a stone and a half over the past 6 months or so just by cutting back, smaller portions etc., and have got used to this so really want to maintain my now healthy diet, but I really want to lose another half stone and hadn't lost any weight for 6 weeks, hence trying these tablets to just get that last stubborn half stone off. But, I don't want to get back into bad habits and worry about the Xmas season and countless meals out, not to mention Xmas day itself!! I'm definitely going to use these tablets after a hefty meal!

KnockKnockPenny Sun 11-Nov-12 16:28:20

Goon, no its not like Alli or Xenical at all.

Sorelip Tue 13-Nov-12 11:12:01

OK, well I've lost 6lb, but only in the last week, because I finally put myself on a low calorie diet and upped the exercise. The XLS seems to be reducing my appetite, though it could just be a placebo effect. Either way, I'm happy.

Getskinnyordietrying Tue 13-Nov-12 11:20:18

Well done!!! I've lost a total of 9lbs in 2weeks

Sorelip Tue 13-Nov-12 12:07:58

Nice one Getskinny, how much do you want to lose?

ThatBintAgain Tue 13-Nov-12 16:28:58

Hello-just found this thread on Google after my mum told me to give these a whirl. I've been flitting from one woe to another this year and getting disillusioned with no success. My mother is a dietician and has done a bit of research into these and reckons this might be a good kick start. I'm also going to just follow Slimming World and not deviate or wander off to some other plan. Reassuring to see that most of you are getting results. grin

Getskinnyordietrying Tue 13-Nov-12 17:04:57

3 stone in total (this time last year I only needed to loose two stone after I had my son I was so shocked when I got on the scales I stopped drinking caffeine stopped smoking started eating more healthily and popping this little gems! How about you?

JambalayaWarmMincePie Wed 14-Nov-12 20:41:22

XLS definitely seems to be an appetite suppressant for me, but only in the last few days.. No side effects so far. No massive weight loss either though. Not sure if its really working for me or not. We shall see....

ThatBintAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 09:56:18

Mine arrived this morning...

Sorelip Thu 15-Nov-12 19:52:53

Getskinny I want to lose between 9-14lb, just to have a normal BMI before TTCing.

Part1 Thu 15-Nov-12 21:07:35

Aren't these these similar to Alli? Anyone know which is better?

ThatBintAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 21:45:20

As I understand Alli has some rather unpleasant side effects and hopefully these don't?

Getskinnyordietrying Fri 16-Nov-12 00:08:14

sorelip Gd luck with that hope all goes well

ThatBintAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 21:14:26

I've lost 2lbs in 4 days so far without cutting back too far. Have just started SW so hoping for more good results. Impressed so far!

rusmum Thu 22-Nov-12 00:09:32

been on the 2 months - no change what so ever

lovestheirgrub Thu 22-Nov-12 19:27:10

Didn't like xls one iota. I suppose it's like anything - suits some people, doesn't suit others. I have moved on to a much better slimming pill or should I say pills by innoveat (sinus-soothe). It is three different pills that stop you eating as much and snacking. Also fat burners and binders etc. Really made a dent in my weight loss target and expect to reach my target in three months - yipee!!

boo12 Thu 22-Nov-12 19:41:07

Hi, was just looking at the xls product's on amazon and noticed that there are different ones, a fat binder, a suppressant and a carb binder. Does anyone know if the fat binder also suppresses appetite? Or would I need to buy the suppressant as well

ThatBintAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 22:54:51

I'm finding the fat binder is suppressing my appetite. I take after breakfast and don't get hungry again for about 10hrs.

derrydelfin Thu 22-Nov-12 23:30:45

this 2week i have finished and didnt work on me at all.i am taking after very light breakfast even corn fleks i say one no launch and eating around 4-5pm and taking 2tablet.not lost any weight and still 64kg.i regret now paid that much money.if i am going to do heavy diet why should I pay that much money also still does so much air.iam going to finish my pills for another 2 more week and will tell here what will happens.dont buy a month supp.try before a week package.

juneybean Fri 23-Nov-12 08:35:52

Are you eating enough calories?

KTWL Fri 23-Nov-12 11:13:00

Stop dieting and start managing your weight for good
Stop spending money on commercial products and start investing in you!

There are no miracle cures when it comes to managing you weight so don't waste your money on miracle diet plans or celebrity endorsed products. You will not only waste you money but end up a yo-yo dieter.

Managing your weight is about understanding the amount of calories your body needs and then eating a healthy balanced diet across all the food groups to ensure you have the essential nutriton. Sucessful healthy weight loss is achieved by decreasing your own personal daily requirements by 500 calories to achieve a deficit of 3500 calories a week which is a pound of fat.

Wit any diet programme where you are asked to purchase a product, there is the risk that you will put back on the weight AND MORE when you stop buying the product. Look for a programme which is about YOU and not a product and also consider that there is no one size fits all - so groups are aims at a group not the individual!

Any good reputatble weight management consultant can help you understand your calorific requirements and point you in the right direction in terms of healthy balanced nutrition and lifestyle

Spannerfingers Sat 24-Nov-12 13:54:09

I've not taken XLS for over a week now, and I feel so much better. All stomach pains are gone, no more wind, I'm back to being regular on the toilet side. I'm not eating as much as 2 months ago but that's down to portion control and not buying / eating snacks. My weight is a little down on the day I started on XLS. So it's been a complete waste go time for me. The loss effect I had in the start (10lbs in a week) just sort of balanced out, with weight coming back with a vengeance some weeks even though I has not eating, drinking and taking more exercise than usual.

Where do we go from here.................

To the pub, probably.

derrydelfin Sat 24-Nov-12 23:14:43

juneybean .what u mean enough calories?maybe i am having my normal 2000 calories everyday maybe a little bit more sometime.should i get more to work Xls?

presstown Thu 29-Nov-12 14:09:00

I was searching for reviews sometime ago for xls medical few weeks ago and couldn't really find any real one so I didn't buy. I am glad I came across this public board to see results people are having. Thanks for sharing your experience.

MissBelle83 Fri 28-Dec-12 16:36:09

Started taking this three days ago (Xmas day...) after reading good reviews and feel like I should share my experience...

So far I have lost 5lbs!

Great, however this has mainly been due to the vomiting that occurred on day 3! My appetite had been reducing massively since starting the pills and then yesterday after taking two pills after a moderate lunch I felt incredibly full and blocked up. Spent the rest of the afternoon feeling nauseous with stomach cramps until i was violently sick in the evening (sorry if tmi!).

Now, I recognise that it's winter and there are lots of bugs going round that this could be attributed to, however since it's the holidays I have only had contact with my family since Xmas eve -none of them have been ill (so far, fingers crossed).

I could be totally wrong but maybe the pills just made food too difficult to digest. I was drinking lots of water and eating balanced meals (despite Christmas). It felt like my stomach was so full of food it had to get rid of it another way.

I've not read any other reports of reactions to XLS like this as it's not supposed to have side effects. So perhaps it wasn't the pills, however I will NOT continue to take them just in case.

I think this experience has reminded me that diet and exercise are the sensible way forward. I will be following weight watchers once my appetite returns (I've lost 2st on WW before) and putting my trainers back on once I have some energy!

Patsymay Thu 03-Jan-13 09:58:53

Hi Just bought some XLS tablets planning to start today. I belong to the gym and a girl we know who comes to our classes every week started to lose weight we asked her what she was doing and she has been taking these tablets for about 5 months with a weeks break in between each month (every 180 tablets then weeks break) so far with watching her diet and a bit of exercise she has managed to lose 2 stone. She is a very big girl and said this is first time she has managed to lose weight. So myself and friend have started I wont to lose 1 stone my friend a bit more. Really excited and very eager (hope it lasts). Found this site and seeing some of your results have made me even more determined We will weigh every week up gym they have very good scales, so fingers crossed and we start with our first weigh in tonight

speedyanto Thu 03-Jan-13 11:26:06

Fee898 Wed 09-Jan-13 15:21:50

Hi all, have been following everyones comments on here regarding xls medical, since having my second child i piled on the weight eating badly and i mean very badly!! So had a wake up call with my wedding 2 1/2 months away i wanted to try and lose some weight so i could feel good in a dress, i started these tablets on monday and cut out everything junk and late night snacking and smaller meals, didnt really think it would do anything with it being my first time actually trying to use tablets to help lose weight!! I weighed myself sunday so i knew my actual weight and started first thing monday morning, i know im only on my 3rd day but i just couldnt wait so i weighted myself this morning and to my shock i have lost 3lbs!!! Wooow talk about being shocked!! Im rather chuffed and this just gives me more motivation to carry on while my partner is sat their eatin junk food lol, hope others get the result they are looking for

chocoland Mon 14-Jan-13 10:31:48

Big day today. have my supply of xls and just about to start. fed up being in the constant cycle of losing weight and then putting it back on. have my sons wedding in 5 months so need to shape up. hopefully these will give me the added boost to do well

Fee898 Tue 15-Jan-13 07:53:55

Good luck chocoland, today is my 8th day on and have lost 4lb, would like to remind some people you do need to have a cheat meal otherwise your body will get used to eating healthy and wont do its job properly, if you have a cheat meal it will keep your body guessing and working as it should to lose weight, try do a cheat meal once every two weeks but still take your tabs, a cheat meal can be whatever you like but only one meal, also it gives you something to look forward to and to work hard for. 'Lucky' me is marrying a bodybuilder so i have his eyes watching me all the time now iv said im losing some weight lol. Good luck

chocoland Sun 27-Jan-13 11:53:05

Have been on these tablets for 2-3 weeks, and apart from being a little constipated, have not noticed any difference in my weight loss, which is really disappointing. Has anyone else had this?

Nicmumof2 Sun 03-Feb-13 08:34:51

I am starting these on Monday, need a bit of a weight loss boost. Looking for success stories????
Many thanks. 😃

lemonlegs Sat 16-Feb-13 02:13:54

Hi, I started taking these 2 weeks ago, weighed after 5days and was shocked to find I had lost 3lb. I am one of those that struggles to loose weight so can't wait to weigh again tomorrow.
Haven't really had any side effects, but have noticed my carvings have gone and my appetite is less-so eating less, which is a good thing.
Will come back after I weigh again and hopefully another loss!!

Serenani Mon 18-Feb-13 11:39:43

Mumoffour4 Mon 18-Mar-13 10:58:42

Have used xls for one week with no change to diet. I have lost 1 pound. Don't really think its working but I bought a pack of 180 so going to keep going with it. This week I'm going to try and decrease my calorie intake and see what happens.

Mumoffour4 Mon 18-Mar-13 13:04:58

Forgot to state side effects. Mild constipation and stomach cramps. No loss of appetite. Has anyone completed the full month and had success?

judybaker44 Tue 19-Mar-13 10:46:34

hi mumoffour4 ........ off to very slow start .... but am now onto 4th week ..and seeing significant appetite loss ... agree with the stomach cramps and mild constipation ... but have increased water intake and that seems to have helped ... total weight loss so far ..... 5lbs ...
am going to keep going because all my previous attempts at weight loss have ended in becoming even bigger !!.
good luck honey xx ..
let me know how you getting on xx

Mumoffour4 Mon 25-Mar-13 09:15:56

Week 2. Did not manage to decrease calories. In fact had quite a bad week with food. Weight loss 1lb. Side effects have decreased a lot. Still no loss of appetite though, hopefully this will happen soon. 2 pounds in 2 weeks is not a huge loss but considering I haven't been dieting or exercising at all, it's not too bad. How's everyone else doing?

judybaker44 Tue 26-Mar-13 13:38:46

hi again mumoffour4..... well done on the 2lbs... i find dieting and excercising sooo hard ... the only good thing i found with xls is that after a while the appetite suppresant kicks in ... good luck sweetie and keep us posted !! xx ... am dreading the scales this week !! xx but fingers crossed !!

Mumoffour4 Tue 02-Apr-13 09:55:46

Week 3. Disaster. Plus 3 pounds. Which means overall plus 1 pound sad Easter weekend not good, lots of wine, chocolate and roast dinners so I guess I wasn't expecting any losses but plus 3 pounds!! Renewed motivation this week to keep calories down. Glad you're doing well judybaker44. Have you changed your diet? Are you taking the tablets 2, 2 & 2. I have been taking them 1, 2, 3. As I only have toast for breakfast.

olgaga Tue 09-Apr-13 10:53:05

I think anyone looking into spending money on these fat/carb blockers should read this first and save their money!

It seems the only fat blocker which actually does what it says it does is orlistat - the prescription version, not the over-the-counter one. But the side effects are dreadful.

If you really need orlistate your GP will prescribe it - and you can use the money you save to buy some adult nappies.

judybaker44 Thu 11-Apr-13 08:33:39

hi again xx ... total weight loss so far ... 1 lovely stone !! xx and one dress size ... mumoffour I have changed my diet to low carb diet and now i feel a little less self concious i stagger to the gym occasionally !! ..i take the tablets 222 ... and have stuck to that since the beginning ... i also have tried the old adage 'breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper'.. but its still blinking hard !! take care honey xx good luck sweet

Mumoffour4 Sun 21-Apr-13 21:07:40

Well done Judybaker44. I'm glad it's working for you. Going to try slim fast tomorrow, never tried it before so think i'll give it a go. I've really struggled to lose weight after my 4th who is now 4. Simple calorie counting always worked before but just doesn't seem to be that easy this time. Might still take 2 tablets after my main meal until they are used up.

sammbell Fri 17-May-13 17:44:36

I've been using XLS Medical for about a month and have consistently lost 4 or more lbs per week. Even though a I lapse on my diet all the time. Shame they are so expensive. Is there anything cheaper out there which does the same thing?

LadyBlack Tue 18-Jun-13 13:40:42

I just had my first child at the end of March and although most of the pregnancy weight came off straight away, I was only 2lb heavier than I was pre-pregnancy a week after giving birth. However, I've found that I've gained 2 pounds since then and I feel really uncomfortable in my clothes. I wanted to try XLS Medical so I had a look around at all the prices. Amazon is cheaper but I read a review from a lady who had tried XLS from Boots and they did not look the same as the ones she got from Amazon. To add to that, several other users had complained that the instructions were in every language other than English, so all I can guess is that these are from somewhere in mainland Europe or god knows where so I decided to go with Boots. Bit more expensive but at least you know what you're getting.

I ordered mine today and got such a bargain! The 3 month supply (which is the best value) is supposed to be 179.99, but they have an online exclusive of £50 off so that brought it down to 129.99. Then they have an Online offer of 10% off when you spend £50 or more on certain healthcare products so that brought it down to £117. Then I found a code online for 10% off when you spend over £90 on healthcare. I didn't think it would work but it did! It's VC23J90 (case sensitive). That brought it down to £105 - result! Plus free delivery and 420 points smile This means it's actually cheaper than Amazon. I dunno how long this code will work for so I thought I'd share it asap.

Looking forward to getting started!

Abbafanatic Wed 19-Jun-13 14:07:15

I disagree with a lot of these comments saying that diet pills don't help. I have been using suppress, satisfy and shed by innoveat and have lost a decent amount of weight. I have been eating three meals a day plus a light snack near 9pm of fruit and yogurt and I have not felt my usual need to snack between meals and gorge myself on sweet treats. Even during my PMT and period when I usually go off the rails with my eating I have been really good and have only had maybe a small treat here and there. usually i just go mental and eat anything comforting. I also don't eat such big meals so the combination has worked. People shouldn't be so dismissive if diet pills don't work for them or they have this preconceived notion they all do not work. Nevertheless I would still be careful when choosing diet pills especially regarding their safety and always search for reviews and investigate how safe the ingredients are.

Abbafanatic Wed 19-Jun-13 14:11:08

Nearly forgot. I tried XLS medical and all it did was make me constipated. Waste of money for me. It seems I am not the only one and it doesn't score highly with reviewers. Which beggars the question - why are we all buying it?

Back again ... still loving the XLS medical ... kept the 1 stone off ... and heading towards the 2 stone mark ... but its blinking hard work ... calamity 14 ... yep on a low carb diet and seem to work ... constipation is a bit of a worry but some prunes usually helps x .. good luck darlings keep me posted !!

It's working for me too...after 4 months I've lost nearly 2 stones. Like I said in my previous post I wish the was a similar unbranded alternative which was cheaper because XLS Medical is far to expensive - the mark-up must be huge. According to this page the lowest price is 17.5 p per tablet - which is over £1 a day! Googling for alternatives just turns up loads of spammy pages trying to get me to buy Proactol - which is just as expensive sad

I'm very tempted to give these a go. Have lost a stone so far by eating healthily but just want a boost really. I have noticed some have said on here that you can get them on Amazon for £18, I can't find them that cheaply on there. Has anyone else got them that cheap?

I went to boots today and bought the 20 pound pack. Fingers crossed these work. I need to loose a decent amount of weight. I usually loose it with a good diet but this time it aint working. Best of luck all xx

I've been taking the fat binders for 2 days. I took 2 pills pn the first day spread out amd two together at breakfast. I feel highly anxious and became panicky when out shopping (not me at all) I feel nauseous confused a little out of it and not hungry. Bit worried actually. Anyone else had this as its not things that are in the main side effects...? Cheers

Has anyone tried the alternatives to XLS such as Alli or Xanical or Orlistat? Are Xenical and Orlistat just higher doses? I think I might give this a try to try to shift my muffin top for Christmas.

My sister brought xls from boots and lost a stone in a month. She then brought a batch off amazon and had zero success. The reviews at the time were saying the same, defo fakes. Best to pay a little extra and ensure your getting the real thing IMO.

Also to the above poster alli, xenical and anything with orlistat in defo works. I had alli lost 11Ib in one mont without even changing my dieth and had xenical which is prescription only but oxford pharmacy online sell it. It was very pricey but i was desperate and it works. Only thing is the side effects are epic so i can only take them on weekends when not at work! Alit of oily flatulence and uncontrollable fat releases but i soon came to appreciate thay thos is a good sign its working!

I have just ordered the xls carb reducer (in the post) does this also reduce appetite or is it just xls appetite reducer which is bought separately? Many thanks
