Anyone want to join me as I go from 'fatty' to 'fabulous'?

(269 Posts)
Well, I have decided that from Monday I am
1) Going to lose weight and stop making excuses and put it off anymore

2)Make exercise a regular part of my life, which will mean shaking the months of dust off my clothes hanger exercise bike.

3) Start to feel good about myself again, and imagine myself in lots of lovely clothes for the Spring. This will involve looking at myself in a mirror and thinking good thoughts hmm

I am 5ft 3 and tipping the scales at a disgusting 12 stone 7lbs. Ideally I want to get to 9 stone 7 lbs so 3 stone to lose. Eeeek! Anyone fancy joining me?

Sweetboysmum – You are still losing weight not putting it on so don’t beat yourself up over it. Home made soup sounds yummy. What soup is it? I thought I would struggle with the discipline as to be honest in the past I have never been disciplined with food. I really thought I would feel hungry but after speaking to a friend who was doing Go Lower I thought what’s the harm in giving it a go as I’ve got nothing to lose and if I can’t do it I will just give up. But I honestly don’t feel hungry at all. It really is a first for me!

Robino – Sorry I didn’t realise you had had an op. I hope you are recovering well.

Slimcognito – I had to laugh at your post. Not laugh at you but because your thinking sounds so similar to me.

Smileyboy – Well done on your weight loss. You are doing brilliantly.

We’re going to a party tomorrow evening at a friends house who normally has really lovely food so it is going to be a real test for me not picking.
Well done Smileyboy 2lb is great going.

You too, Sweet. Putting me to shame this week.

Robino - gosh sorry you've been ill again. Hope you're back on par now.

How is everyone else doing? Good luck over the weekend.

Hi all.

Sweetboy the soup sounds delicious. Well done on the 1 1/4 lb loss. A loss is a loss!

I lost 2lbs this week so I am now down to 12 st 12 lbs which considering a few weeks ago I was 13 st 7 when I started I am fairly happy with me progress although of curse I can not really see any difference yet which is frustrating!!

Robino, your tummy bug sounds awful. 8lbs loss is huge but obviously not good when you can't eat a thing!

Good luck to everyone this weekend.
Oh FGS.

I put back on the 2lb again. I've been losing and gaining the same 2lb for weeks. I still weigh 179lb! Same as I did at the start.

Trouble is, now I can sense Christmas coming, the excuses are popping into my head - such as "may as well coast until New Year and then do it properly" etc.

Not good enough. I am trying to remind myself that the difference between being overweight and looking awful and being overweight but being able to look presentable CAN be achieved in 6 weeks, esp with exercise.

Also that I will feel so much better doing the rounds at Christmas if my waist is even 1 or 2 inches smaller, if the incipient double chin is even a bit less than it is now. If I leave it I will definitely be having some bad clothes days and tears in the changing rooms come Christmas.

I must do this.

Robino what a shame you've been ill again - wow on the 8lbs! Hope you're on the mend now. Your body must be taking a wee while to recover after the op so try not to push yourself too much.

mummymels, obviously the diet is really working for you. I think I would struggle with the discipline required though!

Talking of discpiline, I evidently didn't have a lot this week as I only lost 1 & 1/4lbs. I need to start measuring myself and - maybe that will give me better results? Will also aim to start a food dairy today as I have been grazing on food througout the week and it must all add up.

Am off for a big swim tonight. My dad has given me lots of home made soup so will be filling up on that. Good luck for the coming week everyone.

Oh but you have a good excuse for not doing your My Fitness coach the other day. You sound as if you were really suffering. Wow on the weight loss though, that is loads. Not a good reason for it to have happened though. How are you feeling now?

Thank you mummymels. I'm not really - didn't do My fitness coach the other day. Unbelievably I came down with a stomach bug on Tuesday afternoon and was completely out of action until Wednesday night - was so bad I lost 8lbs shock

So weighing in today at a very unrealistic 12st 6 (have put some back on due to being able to keep water down!). Will be back up next week but surely my illnesses must be over now and I will get some exercise done soon?

Sweet - am very envy about swimming man - well done you!

Robino – you are an inspiration with all the exercise you are doing. With Go Lower you don’t need to exercise to lose weight but I really should do more exercise than I do although I do walk quite a lot. I look forward to hearing how you get on.

Thanks sweetboysmum, thanks for the welcome. Go Lower is a diet where they deliver the food to your house which I love as I don't have to worry about what food to cook etc. and you can have treats (even chocolate!). You loose quite a bit of weight as your body goes in to ketotis. Wow, I am impressed with the amount of swimming you are doing, that is fantastic, well done. Funny re the guy at swimming, no harm in looking!

Hi mummymels of course you are welcome here. Wow 22lbs in 6 weeks, that's a lot! I've never heard of Go lower before, what's involved with that?

Faintly - you sound so positive and it's great to hear you are making the most of yourself. I like that you're wearing stuff you usually keep in the cupboard for best. I'm going to go through my wardrobe to find things that match well, try them on and have a range of nice outfits to wear. Maybe that's common sense for most people but i usually just throw on the first things I come across! Am a bit of a slob to be honest.

Robino, I have a My Fitness Coach that i have never opened. Should give it a try sometime!

I went swimming last night and did another 70 lengths. Mum coming round to babysit shortly so that I can go again. DH home earlier these days and I've been swimming 4 times so far this week (4x 70 lenths), so after todays swim that will be a lot of swimming for a week!

Oh and that guy who offered me a lift was chatting to me again and offering me a lift.i got the impression he does like me (god knows why). I chatted but dropped in the conversation that i have a baby so he knows I'm not on the market if he's interested. If i were single then he wouldn't be my type but he has an attractive swimmers body I must say! i did have a good ogle when he was leaving blush

Smileboy well done for not giving in to the lure of the KFC! I agree that the key to exercise is finding something you enjoy. Hope you find something that works for you.

Faintly - I didn't know you before but from what you said you sound like you're a completely changed woman! Well done.

After another really not great weekend and some cake yesterday I think that I need to accept that I keep making excuses and that, erm, I need to stop!

Have done 2 good dog walks with the double buggy this week and went to pilates for the first time since having my appendix out. OH is at pilates tonight so I will do My Fitness Coach on the Wii. It is a good thing for me because after every 10 workouts (and you can input other stuff you've done too) you're supposed to measure waist, hips, thighs etc so in theory you can see changes even if your weight hasn't changed. So if you see me on here after 8pm tonight - kick me off and make me exercise!
