Am I the only one for this week or have we changed our weigh-in day and I didn't notice.

Please do let us know about how your doing good or bad so we can support each other.

Scales still not quite right but only slight differences of 1.5lb either way. So have worked on best of four and have gone with the one weigh which came up twice.

Lexcat -3lbs (over 2 weeks) Total -1st 12lbs

Now the big push to get to that 2 stone loss by next week fingers crossed. Clothes are looser and I can see I've lost the weight but surprised I haven't noticed a bigger difference like needing a smaller size. Really hope that starts happening when I start losing the 3rd stone.

Hope everyone else has had a good week.

Nice to have you back para. My scales have gone funny again, was so shocked when they told me I had lost 6lbs so tried again and this time gained 3lbs.

Gave up on my old scales because they went crazy brought new ones which have once gone crazy then returned to normal the next week so will hope they return to normal again.

Glad to hear the foodfocus is helping you out positive. I don't us it all the time just to keep on track, started off using it alot.
slides back into the topic whistling nonchantly.......

So have kept the weight off at 2 stone since about the beginning of the thread and slightly behind in should have lost about another half stone by now but am back in the game and on track.

Hi Lexcat, thanks for the info about food focus. I'm loving it! (no not macdonald's, the website grin) I have faithfully typed in whenever I have eaten and it calculates it all, Its Brill! I love the way it gives you a date to work to your goal, too. That makes it more realistic and I feel as if I can actually get there. Thank you. grin

How is everyone else doing? smile

Thanks Lexcat. Just been looking on the food focus website. Are You registered? Looks quite good and I am up for any motivational thing I can get really, especially if it is free! wink

Really pleased last night. Went out for a meal and was able to fit into a skirt I had not been able to wear all summer. It was my favourite skirt and was realy shock when I couldn't wear it this summer. I am so impressed I have worn it all day today, too. grin
I chose a lovely fish dish last night, that was yummy grin, but have to confess to having a very chocolatey dessert that was oozing fat and calories. I only had fruit for the rest of the day, to make up for it. And straight back on track today, so I am pleased. I don't want to sit and deprive myself when out like that, or I know I will lose the will power to carry on.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. Keep posting.- Please come and tell me how you are all doing. smile

Well done positive that really is a great loss. I'm the same can't help reading all the food labels, I also find www.foodfocus.co.uk is great to keep a track of calories and fats your eating.

Feeling much better about things as I've really upped the exercise and hope to see improvements. So far 2miles walks on Tues, wed and Thur. Had a girly day with my mother on friday walking round a big show. Took dd swimming this morning and we did 10 lengths together before having a bit of a play. Then did another 2mile walk with her this afternoon.

After all the main reason I started this was because I wanted to be fitter and started running but my weight was holding me back. Due to recurring injury had to stop the running. I like been fitter I feel better in myself, and I sleep really well(not been great sleeper since dd was born). The best bit is I have so much more energy. Would love to try running again when the weight is right down.

Hi All,

How did you get on at WW last night?

I managed to sneak into my friends bathroom and step on scales today. Lost 8lb since I started, so well pleased with that!! I do feel slimmer, but get a shock when I see myself in the mirror or a shop window and realise I am still enormous! hmm Anyway, a good start and I am still enthusiastic and not getting hungry.
We are off out tomorrow night, and I have decided that I am not going to go mad, but not going to deny myself too much either, then back on wagon the next day. Otherwise I get to the point where I dont see the point in it all and will lose all enthusiasm all together. Hopefully they will have some tasty food that is not too bad!

Just wanted to share something that I am sure you all know, but i have been shocked by - I am doing a low fat diet and have really reduced my fat intake to about 15 - 20g a day. The biggest shock has been bread. I tried the Danish stuff (0.5g per slice), which was like eating air and I was starving within 30 mins of eating any, so have researched all the breads I like from our local shop and there is a HUGE difference. From 0.6g per slice wink, up to 3.9g!! One sandwich and half my daily allowance has gone before I put anything into it!!! shock Sorry, I think I am getting a wee bit obsessed, but just a simple thing!!

Hope you all have a good weekend

hey hows everyone doing? im back at ww tonight, but had a eally sressful week and not ae as well as i could so not sure will have lost any but on th plus side i dont think ive been bad to put any on either so even if i lost 3 and a half pounds last week and nothing this week i can live with that just need to try harder next week and stop getting down and eating!!! though i did fancy a big bag of maltesers but ate a punnet of grapes instead, that has to be good right???

Welcome hidingfromthedm are you doing weight watchers or anything?? im new to this board too so not sure what others are doing just know tey are probably not as useless as me, week 2 and im already stressed and eating loads!! oops!

Welcome hiding always great to have new mums.

Started really well this week everything was easy. No feeling hungry all the time, feeling full really easily and the best wasn't missing any thing I shouldn't eat. Then it started to go pear shaped on Sunday evening when I got really hungry before bed. Managed with out the late night snack. Monday camr couldn't shake off the constant hunger. Plus was craving all the wrong foods. Generally feel very low about the whole diet and was it worth it.

So yesterday went for a long walk to cheer my self up and remind myself of my goal and why I started this diet that made me really hunrgy ang ended up overeatting last night.

Feeling a bit better today but can't understand my low as I went shopping with dd at the weekend and could fit a smaller size plus had two people ask if I had lost weigh because I was looking much slimmer.

Hope everyones had a good week.

I've have been overweight for most of my life, but after my dd was born (21 months ago) I ballooned up to 16 stone (I'm only 5'2 so for my frame that is alot of weight). I started going to the gym and eating better last november and in 4 months lost 1.5 stone. But I stopped going in March and have put a little of the weight back on. I'd like to get down to 10 stone.

Hi there hiding - I am also a newby on here, but would like to welcome you, if it is ok.

I have been going for just 3 weeks now, with a goal to lose at least 5 stone. One of my smaller goals is to lose enough to feel able to go swimming for exercise. Patience is my problem. I expect instant results!! Must keep telling myself that it took years to get like this, so realistically will take time to get rid as
smile

How is everyone else doing on here?

Can I join? I would like to lose 5.5 stone (so I don't quite match the subject) and just generally get fit.

That's a brilliant start M&M! You musst be really pleased!

I am still not able to weigh at home, but hopefully in a few weeks time I will be able to! smile Although I will then have to be strict with myself and not keeping hopping on and off and getting disappointed if it doesn't go down!

Have a good weekend everyone! smile

Loving the rain - Too late. No defrosting needed - straight in microwave for the most scrumptious gooey chocolate delight!!! sad Yum. The good thing now is that the ones I like are now all gone, so not bothered about the others! grin I made the kids eat the one i liked first. Only had a little bit, otherwise I would have felt deprived! hmm

positiveattitudeonly - I think I started this thread April timeish and dieted on my own but joined my club in July!

lost 0.5lbs yesterday so total now is:

LTR- 1st 9.5lbs

positiveattitudeonly - atleast if they're in the freezer you cannot eat them straight away as they would take ages to defrost and give you time to realise you don't actually want it!

lexcat - I had a similar situation a few weeks ago! It will come off next week grin

Lexcat -0lbs Total -1st 7.5lbs

Sorry to hear about you looseing us LTR it's great to have you back.

positiveattitudeonly I think the hardest bit is getting going but every lb you loose makes it easier. Having said that it hard when you gain or stop loosing the weight for a few weeks. I started back in late febuary time and have made very slow progess (one of the slowest here) but I feel so much happier in myself with changes that I'm slowly working towards. Just over 2.5lbs a month .

Hi again,

Well done for the weight loses. How long have you been going, lovingtherain?

I think I was doing ok. I am a terribly impatient person and expect instant results, which I know is stupid, but after a week of dieting I expect to at least be a size 12!!! grin Ok maybe not going to work as it was probably 24 years ago I was that size! Anyway, I was a little niggled this week as I could not visit my friend with the scales as she had a dentist appointment - how inconsiderate, although she doesn't even know I am using her scales!grin Next week I should be able to see a difference though when I stand on hers and hopefully soon I can use mine at home.
I wasn't getting too hungry as I am trying to keep busy and have lots of yummy fruit in the fridge.

Last night DH came home from work with 3 big boxes of cakes/icecreams/yummies etc...... The freezer had broken at work and he brought it home for our freezer! OH no. Disaster. The yummy rocky road chocolate cake screamed from inside the freezer at me all night. I was nearly forcefeeding it to the kids, so that it would all be gone before I caved!! If I stay out of the house with my air bread sandwich and bottle of water maybe I wont succomb. 4pm totday is going to be the tough time!!!! GGGRRrrrrrr!!!!!
I now have a freezer full of all the stuff I would have loved and its driving me bonkers!

hiya and thanks for the welcome, its been dp's birthday today so i kind of have not stuck to the weight watchers but then on the other hand ive been saving points the last few days and not gone too overboard so im hoping still ok though we will see on thursdays weigh in!! Until todays lack of motivation i have felt great about eating better and been very motivated so im hoping that can start again tomorrow. My main problem is an obsession with the scales, i constantly get on to see if ive lost any (like about 6 times a day lol) i know full well its not gonna show anything and if it does its not definate etc but i just get obsessed about it so trying this time to be brave and only go on at ww, though its killing me!!

This thread (thanks LTR for starting it)has really helped me keep me going and are the only people who know my total target. So it always great to have new blood to be able to support in the same quest.

hiya,
can i join you all, im jen im getting married next year and so need to loose some weight!! i started weight watchers last thursday. To get down to what i want to be i need to loose approx 8 stone, though need at least 2 for next august maybe 3 as ive bought a wedding dress i love and cant get into!!!! however i love the dress and the style means it wont be easy to make smaller so cant loose too much unless i loose so much that i really am skinny then i can buy a new dress without feeling bad!!!
how much is everyone else trying to loose? please tell me im not the biggest here? im motivated at the moment on my weight watchers but not sure how long it will last, really hoping it will last long enough though im sick of being big!

Paranoia has now set in. Nobody is posting since I added myself. shock blush hmm

Come and tell me I don't smell!!

Well done on your loss this week lexcat. I was at a friends house and jumped on her scales(well not jumped, cos they would have broken! grin) and I am a smidging under 20 stone. So I will use 20 as my starting point, although this may be not too accurate as I will start using my scales as soon as I can.

Really encouraged about the fact I am not feeling hungry. It really seems to be mind over matter. BUT off out for lunch now with DD3, so hopefully they have an appetising something healthy.

Well if it makes you feel better I have ended up nibbling on chocolate cake all day. Keep having tiny slices but had not been able to keep away and my tiny slices must have added up to quite large slice/s. It's very good cake.

I found you get use to smaller amounts of food and stop been hungry all the time with in a week or two. What's harder is eating because you can not because your hungry ie tried or stressed because the kids are eating, or in my case chocolate cake in the tin ect..... Hope that last sentence makes sense as it the best I can manage to explain what I mean.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 09-Sep-09 18:32:17
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to you too. grin

Thanks for the welcome.

First day did not go as planned hmm. Running round like a mad thing this morning before work, then on the way to work (in car because I was late, so already failed on that resolution!hmm) I suddenly realised that I had totally forgotten to have breakfast! shock. Healthy lunch was packed in my bag, but as soon as I got to work I was starving, so lunch was eaten before 9.30! shock I had used that danish bread for sandwiches and have decided it feels like eating air and my stomach certainly felt as if I had eaten air -and not a lot of air, by about 10.30!! hmm
Have behaved since being home and looking forward to a nice tea tonight as DH is working late, so I can be good with something he hates and I love!

Not too sure how much my starting weight is as I am very embarrassed to say that my scales go up to 19 stone and I am over that! shock blush sad
So first goal is to get down to be able to weigh myself properly. If this does not happen within a month I will take a deep breath and go and weigh on the public scales in Boots.
My plan is to do a low fat diet, maybe I will use Alli to give me a boost if I get "stuck". I am going to be walking to work as much as possible and I also want to lose enough weight to feel able to go swimming, and that should give me another boost (hopefully).
What are you all following and how long have you been going for?

positiveattitudeonly Snap it was my birthday yesterday as well. Happy belated Birthday. grin grin

Of course your welcome to join us more the merrier I say. I myself started with at least 7 stone to lose. Can't say I've been the best dieter by any means but it's slowly coming off. I try not to think too long term and work from week to week. To start with I kept thinking of the new slimmer me to help get me going. Now I try and focus on the progress I have made.

Got it tough this week as I was brought two large chocolate birthday cakes yesterday. Lost 1 1/2 lbs for this week. Yes!!! that takes me just over 1 1/2 stone total.

Hi, would it be ok for me to join you?

Don't mind if you are all doing it together and don't want another bod, but if you do let me know.

I am enjoying my last day of pre-dieting. Birthday today and off out tonight. Start with a new regime in the morning. All fired up to lose as much as possible. I really should lose about 7 stone (at least), but that just sounds way too much, so I will be setting my long term goal as 5 stone and smaller goals on the way. ie a stone at a time.
5 DC's 2 jobs and a bit of a manic lifestyle, but I need to exercise more.

I would appreciate joining people who can have a laugh and kick me up my massive behind when I feel like giving up!!! grin

Well done LTR your doing so well.

No change for me this week which I'm quite pleased about, was thinking there may have been a gain. Been away and my choice of food as been limited. Four days in a row breakfast was a bacon butty and pub dinner every night ie chips with everything. Plus when everyone else is having pudding and your been on you feet all day it very hard to say no thank-you.

Basically I have just been following the Rosemary Conley plan which is based on a low fat/low gi diet - seems to work for me and I also signed up on a 12 week weight loss challenge back in June so was going to meetings once a week to be weighed.

The 12 week challenge isn't run by Rosemary Conley it's a local initiative to get people losing weight and you can sign up and follow whatever plan you like and attend a weekly meeting for a weigh in and talk about nutrition etc. It was really good as it was long enough to get results but not long enough to feel like I was signing up for life. When I started I was at a real low point, bigger than I have ever been, having tried and failed so many times so when the leaflet came through the door I thought 'it's only 12 weeks, I'll give it a go'.

Now I don't want to go back to how I was eating and feeling before so I have signed up for the next challenge and will be starting again on 7th September - As I said before I just have to stay on the wagon until then!!!

How's your week going?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 18-Aug-09 10:49:13

Hi Girls

Well it was the last week of the 12 week challenge that I signed up for and I lost 2stone 1oz!!! I can't beleive it and I am motivated to keep on so I have signed up for the next challenge, which will start on 7th September. All I have to do is not fall off the wagon between now and the start of the next one but I know posting on here will keep me focused.

Lexcat - well done - that is brilliant, it's such a great feeling putting on something that once was too small - good for you!

LTR and Foreverchanges that is amazing weightloss - congrats!

All these postings definitely help keep me focused. Although I won't be able to put my weight loss down (as I don't own scales) I'll be able to say whether I have been good or not and tell you how I have done once I start the next challenge.

Feeling better dd was looking at some of my old clothes, and the conversatoin went a little like this,
"Mum I like this shirt why don't you wear it."
"Well I don't fit into it any more."
"try now mum you might fit it because of your diet"

Any I try it for her benifit and was shocked to find it fits. Got very exicted and tried a old skirt not so luckly.

I'm back to pre dd on my bust just need to work on the tummy, hips and thighs next as I don't really what to loose to much on the bust, (both my sister's are small AA/A cups me on the other hand can I boast a C/D cup size). Don't want little boobs as I like the ones I have.

Hi girls I'm back from my holiday.

We went to France and despite good intentions I didn't give 2 hoots about what I ate or drank when I got there - lots of wine and pizza!

I went back to fat club last night and was prepared to do the walk of shame but somehow I managed to lose 1.5lbs! I really couldn't beleive it and asked the lady to check the scales again. I can only think my over-indulgance sped up my metabolism momentarily and that I didn't eat the volume that I did pre-diet days.

This week I really want to get back on the healthy eating track and lose 2 pounds so I can get to the 2 stone mark!

Welcome to all the you newbies!

Can I be a late joiner too?

Am starting tomorrow with a minimum of 6 stone to lose, ideally 7.5 to take me down to my pre-marriage and DD fighting weight.

Have just spent 3 days camping with DH and DD and realised I would have enjoyed it so much more if I'd been a healthy weight.

Also due to go to Butlins next Easter and want to be light enough to have a go on the bungee trampoline!!! grin

hello like to join too i have about 2 stone to lose have tried some this year but not enough joined ww and put on weight blush
want to do it without ww

plan is to eat more at dinner less at tea no carbs after 6 a smalll piece of protein before bed(like 1 slice ham) this keeps your metaabolism ticking over and burning cals

and generally eat more heathily and snack on sweet treats like weight watchers bars go aheads and oatcakes and jam/honey(no fat)

this worked for me before hope i can do it again

my NO list is chips pastry take-aways chocolate !!

Excellent again LRT you are doing so well. Can't say the same for myself. Never easy when I have family staying my mother can't help her self and buys cake, biscuits and ice creams for the children then leaves then as she always ^on a diet^ trying to diet. Plus we end up going out for food a lot.

I have over eaten with all the wrong foods for most of the week so was really pleased to see no weigh gain, I've stayed the same as last week. Had two really good days so hope to report a loss next week as my goal of a stone over the summer hols seem to be slipping away.

I lost 1.5 lbs this week so I am pleased with that.

Well done LTR really great to hear your doing so well. Stick with it para you've done so well so far.

Not the best week been trying really hard but felt like I was getting no where. Then to top things off had two days feeling really rough and craving anything sweet. So after all that was so pleased when stepping on the scales to be down 2lbs for this week.

Got my sister and family staying went out today for lunch today maybe out tomorrow and due out again on Sunday. Trying hard not to over indulge.
Well done LTR that's brilliant.

No worries Paranoidmother - you'll probably get a bigger loss next week grin and welldone for not giving up.

There was an article in the paper today about a lady who photographed everything she ate. I might try it for a week and see how it goes.

I lost 2.5lbs this week bring my total to 1stone and 0.5 lbs. I got slimmer of the week and slimmer of the month, couldn't believe it!! grin
Oh Crap I've stayed the same, at least I haven't put on weight but I really wanted to lose even a lb this week.
right must keep trying - more exercise and less of everything else.

good luck to you all.

Got a new goal of 1 stone by the end of the holiday. Cousin getting married mid september so got a few week leeway. Had a slim-fast day and felt constantly hungry this morning, but got better as the day went on. Still to have my main meal that I'm really looking forward too.

Hoping to try a few more slim-fast days this week just to help me get back on track.
Hello again blush
Did ok for 2 days then fell spectacularly off the wagon
Anyway back on the straight and narrow today again - well done LTR and Ner on your losses - gosh i hope i can join you by saying ive lost a few lbs this time next week!
Thanks for your kind welcome Have decided that i will have a goal to aim for - we are going on holiday to France (we havent booked it yet) but it will be in either 9 weeks or 12 weeks time so it would be nice to get maybe a stone and a half off for that.
Hope everyone is staying on track ok today

Feeling slightly better as about 1 1/2 miles up hill on a dirt track before a very rough track tough going under foot for about a 1/2 mile. Then roughly 2 mile on road, the dog's crashed I'm tried but dd still going strong.

Well at least no chocolates to eat so can get back on track.

Again not a great week and I've just been given chocolates. Went out for dinner last night (staff do) ate far to much. Then lots of cakes and biscuits at work today, tried to be good but didn't work very well just to tired (4 1/2hr sleep on top of the fact I was already behind in sleep).Yippe holidays started don't have to get up tommorrow morning that is till dd gets me up.

Hello girls and welcome to RosiePosey!

Well I weighed in on Monday and I had lost 1/2 pound and I was disappointed! I really thought I'd been good but when I looked through my food diary I realised I probably did sneak in a few extra treats albeit low fat ones. This week I am really sticking to the plan and I am sure come Monday I will have lost, I feel like I have so will be gutted it I haven't.

In my first week I used 15 a day and lost 5.5lbs so I think it depends on how much you need your syns. I'm into week 4 now and using about 3/4 a day now
I make exceptions for parties etc though!
Hmm well i was doing red and green days but am thinking that i might go down the route of EE simply because i have to make separate stuff for the family otherwise ... Not really sure what to do about my syns either - i was going to go on 15 a week this week but am hoping for a decent loss so maybe 10, what do you think? (Am not a member as have a couple of copies of the book and thought i might do it from home grin).

Welcome rosieposey, good to have you on board grin

Are you following Extra Easy? I love it and find it fits really well with family life at the DCs and DH can eat the same as me grin

How are you finding it so far?
Hi all Hope you dont mind me joining your inspirational thread! I have read most of your pages from the beginning and i have 7 stone to loose (although id be happy with 5 grin).

Have started slimming world today too LTR as i need to be able to eat plenty of the right sort of stuff and WW just encourages me to eat crap and use up all my points by lunchtime hmm

I have 3 teenage girls and a 5 month old boy - am loving this baby stuff again even though i have been away from it for quite a while so wouldnt actually mind giving my son another sibling next year but i have been left with diabetes after this last pregnancy (had gestational diabetes in all my pregnancies) so i HAVE to loose weight and get healthy if im even going to consider doing it again. Am now at the heaviest i have ever been (apart from actually being pregnant) and really think that its important at the grand old age of 37 to sort out my weight at long last.

You all seem to be doing really well and i have enjoyed reading about your progress, will hopefully add mine now and in just a matter of months will be on my way to being healthier again.

No worries, I always sometimes enjoy falling off the wasgon and eating what I like. Helps me focus when I am back on track to think I am not depriving myself of anything! grin

Something that's really helping me is the 'before' pictures DH took for me. I am wearing a bikini so that I can see all my fat and each time I look at it I think, 'I am never going back to that!' grin

When i'm slim i'll put them on my profile (not that anyone will want to see but it will help me never to go abck to it if I know that I might be seen by others!)

Thanks LTR that's so kind of you but for me it really is about breaking life long habits. I'm only to aware it's taken me some 20 years to get the size I am now (plus 1 child), so I know it not going to happen over night.

I'm still feeling positive loving the idea of the new me. Plus I'm working on the slower the weight goes the less likely it will return in a hurry.

I have enjoyed falling off the wagon as did eat somethings I've been trying to avoid. It's not all negative it's made me really think about what I eat now and where I was going wrong.

Welldone for getting back on track lexcat. I know what you mean about finding comfort in food. Not sure if this would help you but had an idea (don't feel you have to as for some people it doesn't help) if you ever feel like you want to eat food for comfort, you could email me and write down your feelings etc instead of turning to food. I am still learning about not turning to food for comfort myself but am getting there If you fancy it, i'll give you my email address

We are doing well girls!

I have to confess I had a rubbish day yesterday. I just had one of those frustrating hungry days! Although I didn't have anything particularly bad I ate a lot and I mean a lot. Felt completely terrible afterwards so much so that I actually contemplated taking laxitives - I am ashamed to say but I didn't and I have thought today is a new start - so far so good! Well have managed exercise most days but then ended up missing out on any extra exercise yesterday so hoping to do some more tonight. Perhaps will watch the Supersizers whilst doing it!! (Anything to stop me feeling hungry whilst watching a food program)

So far I haven't lost any more this week but hoping to lose another 6lbs in the next 2 weeks if possible so will keep working on it.

Even better then my weigh loss is our overall total drum roll please *3 1/2 stone*. Amazing progress girls.

Start week bad already as just been to McDonald's blush for tea. Was a teat for dd for a clean bill of health from the dentist. Got to make up for my slip over the next week just loving this smaller me which is starting to show with my clothes.

What I really want is to be able to go to any shop and know the clothes I love will fit and look good.

Thanks again to everyone it really helps knowing their is someone in the same boat tying to reach similar goals.

LTR you can do it and you will we look forward to see your progress.

well done lexcat that is fantastic.

I weighed and have lost another 1lb which makes 11lb for the last month overall I think. had a bad day yesterday as went out for a belated birthday meal and then cinema. Mind you didn't eat half as much as I would have done a few months ago so I think it's all coming undercontrol.
I'm loving the feeling after exercise and have been shopping for a pair of trousers a size smaller, which means that every time I wear them i have a huge grin on my face as i know i'm getting smaller grin

Good luck to you all << still smiling madly>>
Lexcat that is brillian - It's so nice when you can actually start to see and feel the difference yourself. I haven't told anyone what I am doing, other than my husband so I am just waiting for people to start noticing - they haven't yet but hopefully it won't be too long.

LTR - which club are you joining?

I ate two slices of granery bread for lunch with a home made burger (i put in red onion and grated carrot). Also had a banana grin so feeling happy again and back on track.
I think i've done well for the first few weeks but it'll plateau out a bit now and be a bit less each week. I don't want to lose too much too quick and put it all on again.

I think we're all doing great, much better than putting it all on.

PM I'm amazed another 5lbs great work. Your fast catching me up and I've been on a diet for a lot longer. Great news on dropping a dress size still to do that. Clothes are getting looser and have to do my bras up a hook or two tighter. Down over 20cm but still not dress size. Can't wait for that first dress size drop never gone down only up.

Ner 1.5lbs is still great keep it up. You will have good and bad weeks but your doing so well keep it up. I seen to go up every 3-4 week and come straight down again. That really is hard even though I'm starting to anticipate it.

LTR Come on your the one who started this whole thread but you still are sitting on the bench. You can do it and if you really want too. It would be great to add some more weight lose by your name . That's my best I do for a kick up the back side, the rest is down to you.

Stayed the same again this week!! blush

Need a good kick up the backside to get back on track!!
well eating as i would want to but trying to eat slower and listening to my tummy when it says full. Also have managed to think to myself 'well if I eat that i've only got to do an extra 30 minute exercise to get that off and i'd prefer to do the extra 30 minutes getting rid of what i've got' Sounds corny but at the moment it's working. I've been doing about an hour of exercise each night. Either Wii Fit steps/boxing etc or just going for a walk with a friend.

Have been eating weetabix or supermarket version with lots of fruit for breakfast, then trying to have some salad with either lunch or dinner. Also meals with less sauces - i'll add sauce to anything normally and making an effort to just cook stuff with spices and herbs and nothing too much extra.

I've also put notices near all the food to say ' Am I Hungry?' to try to make me think what i'm doing.

It helps that my DH has lost about 70lbs + over the last year by cycling to work each day, so he's fit and slender and into 30 waist trousers. So now I want to be fit and look as good as him.

Hi Ner,

When I was at my heaviest I tried so many diets and the Rosemary Conely one really worked, especially with a bit of exercise. I will go back on that after holiday. I am really strict for the first two weeks and follow it rigidly then use it as a guide after that and the weight continues to come off....hope it works for you!
Hi all

I'd love to join in too please? I have 6.5 stone to lose and started just over a week ago. I lost 7.5lbs in my first week!!! I was pleasantly shocked by this and it has spurred me on for this week. I'm following the Rosemary Conley plan and trying to do as much walking as possible. I haven't told anyone (other than my husband and girls) what I am doing so I would really value the support on here as you are all doing so brilliantly

Just add running total as it's great when you have a bad week to be able to focus on the bigger picture.

If it makes you feel better I did make a start in February. So really have made very slow progress. Didn't help falling of the wagon big time at easter and took about 4 week to get back into the diet.
yes 5lb total - that works out at about over 3 weeks as I had a chest infection for 2 and then felt better and exercised for 1 week.

Hello - I think I joined when this thread first started but fell off the wagon for the last 2 weeks as have had chest infection and any movement has left me coughing for about 10 minutes each time.
However the antibiotics have kicked in today and I'm back on it as of tonight/tomorrow morning. I've decided I'd like to lose at least 3.5 stone by the end of the year and the rest i'll work on in the new year.
I'm on holiday in October and would like to be 2 stone lighter by then.

With all this lovely weather i'm going shopping for salad and more fruit tomorrow and hoping this and lighter, summery dinners will help. Good luck everybody

Got new scales 3lbs lighter. The old ones had a differents of 2lbs within 5mins this evening so think they really have had it.

Now I don't have a clue where I am as don't know how good the old scales were. So will start my weighin all over again for where I am in the morning. Bit upsetting as I thought I was very near my first stone lost but now really don't know.

How's everyone else doing this week or has half term made it that much harder and your've all fallen off the wagon.

Hello all

My name is Eyeballs and I fell off the wagon big time. I have spent a week in Cornwall scoffing every cream tea I could lay my hands on blush But I repent and am here to mend my ways...

blush

How are you all doing?

Thanks for the words of support but I forgot to say dd weight has got down 4 lbs in the last week. She likes to see because her thinking is if she is gaining weight she must be growing. So we also have to measure her height too.

My weight goes down near the motm (yes I know not the norm). Will get the new scales as mine are just very cheap tesco scales that can vary a lot on different places in the house. If they also say the same then I will except some how have gained a lot of weight.

I have some similar, they're weight watchers ones, digital. Always found them to be very good grin

Welldone on your lower measurements.

Maybe you're building muscle so weighing more or retaining water (around your TOTM maybe?) Don't be disheartend - keep it up grin

Got to get new scales have defenly lost weight this week (all body measurements are down) but the scales say I've put on 3lbs last week and another 5 lbs in the last 3 days. 8 lbs in about 6 days when I've been really good with diet, plus been out walking and on the bike for the last 4 days in a row.

Was thinking these, anyone got them would love some feedback.

I had a six inch subvway for lunch with ham, chicken and salad. Was 270 kcal but i am allowed 1500 a day and wondering how i am going to eat the rest. Am making homemade burgers tonight. Can't decide whether to do them with home made chips cooked in fry lite or mash potato grin with either salad with the chips or veg with the mash!

Trying really hard but what with it beem 1/2 term and been at home or on days out finding the diet very hard.
Hope to go for a go walk this afternoon but dd is not that keen. Looking fowards to a few hours to myself in the week to go out and get some exercise once she back at school.
It's horible been so close to my first stone and yes 1.5lbs is not much but it's really playing on my mind. Weigh-in on at the weekend so really have fingers crossed.

How are the rest of you doing this week. Worley did you get past mid morning.

Just came to add my bit, I know I'm a large lady but had a very big shock back in Feb when I weighted myself. Was underweight most of my childhood but then teens hit and it's been a down hill slope. Now 20 years on with one child I have managed to gain a large amount of weight.

Hate to write this down but hope I can inspire others plus have the support of others in the same boat as me. In Feb had a big shock to find I was not just under 16 stone like I thought but instead I was 18.3 stone.

This was the shock I needed to do some thing about my excess. I'm pleased to say I'm now 1.5 lbs off my first stone of weight loss. Yes I know still a long way as I would love to be about 9.5-10 stone but would be very happy with 11 stone. Find it so hard where I work several of the women are on diets but in my eyes really don't need to diet. Most of them are working on under 10lbs of weight loss.

Hope you don't might me joining you and hope I don't put anyone off in the fact that I have already made a start.

I am the same happy petal. Not the kids are off i am more inclined to snack!

A few tips for us all over half term:

* Give the children healthy snacks
* When you feel hungry, eat fruit/veg
* If you don't think you can make it through a whole week eating healthy, assign yourself a meal where you can indulge e.g. maybe take the family out for dinner one evening.
* If you do go off course, get straight back on it and don't worry.

Well done everyone! I'm behind you all on the weigh in - do it on a weds - but..... I lost another pound! Hooray hooray! I even got my weight watchers silver seven today as that makes it a half stone loss! It so makes me laugh - we give out stickers at school as an incentive ........ and they work for me too! Half term next week - can't wait - but I so know that the diet could easily take a back seat .... any tips?
Well done everyone.
I've lost 1 and 1/2 so i'm quite pleased, especially after having a chinese last night shock

Doing quite well i think. Am still managing to resist the sugary snacks which is a big thing for me as usually it's the first thing i reach for! Can't say i haven't missed it though, had to eat 3 bananas yesterday to get my fix! grin

Have started using foodfocus.co.uk to log my calories and it's fantastic. Keeps a track of everything for me which is great as i was using paper before.
Hello, I am going to get some cleaning done today too was meant top be going to a netmums meet but can't be bothered as DS is terrified of soft play areas when they are full so would just have him screaming at me! hmm

Have loads to do but forgot to buy cleaning stuff last night will just do what I can with multi surface and washing up liquid LOL. Done a big shop last night and kept having to steer myself away from the crisps and caramel shortbread

So how are you getting on with things LTR?

Welldone piece.

Found this link online:

Calories and Weight
A pound of fat equals 3500 calories. To lose 1 pound a week you will need to expend 3500 more calories than you eat that week, whether through increased activity or decreased eating or both. Losing 1-2 pounds of fat a week is a sensible goal, and so you will want to use the combination of increased activity and eating less that will total 3500 calories for 7 days.

How You Burn Calories
Your weight x distance = energy used walking. Time does not matter as much as distance. If you speed up to walking a mile in 13 minutes or less, you will be burning more calories per mile. But for most beginning walkers, it is best to increase the distance before working on speed. A simple rule of thumb is 100 calories per mile for a 180 pound person.

Note About the Calories Chart
You burn more calories per mile at very low speeds because you are basically stopping and starting with each step and your momentum isn't helping to carry you along. Meanwhile, at very high walking speeds you are using more muscle groups with arm motion and with a racewalking stride. Those extra muscles burn up extra calories with each step. Running may burn more calories per mile as there is an up and down motion lifting your weight off the ground as well as moving it forward. There's a few calculator things on there too grin

Hope you all had a good weekend!

I had a pretty good one, went to a childrens birthday party on Saturday and didn't pick at any of the food. Instead I waited until we got home and had a nice ham and salad sandwich on wholemeal bread. Didn't go anywhere yesterday so we stayed in the garden all day with the children in the paddling pool and enjoyed the sun. Another fairly good day foodwise

I have lost 3lb this week, which I am pretty pleased with. Going to try some more walking this week as I can't do any of my fitness dvd's until our living room is back to normal (having the walls re-plastered/wallpapered/painted and new floors put down). At the moment it looks like a building site!

Well done LTR, that's a great loss

Happy your fish does indeed sound delish! Well done one the weight loss

If I open a bottle Chili, it'll be half gone before I know it grin I've decided to only drink on Saturdays - wonder how long it'll last?! I'm envy of your bbq

Today I have eaten:

Breakfast - Fruit and yoghurt

Lunch - Cheese Sandwhich and a coffee

Dinner - Kedgeree

No snacks (so far) and about 1L of water
The cod sounds amazing Happypetal, would you mind one more round for dinner? wink

PieceNh - Can you not have something to drink? A small glass of wine or something similar? I would get easily bored if I couldn't have a little treat now and then.

Have just had a lovely bbq with dh, kids and mil who was over for the day. Lots of prawn and vegetable kebabs so quite healthy, although I did have one burger so I didn't feel left out.

Today I have eaten

Breakfast - weetabix and semi skimmed milk, herbal tea.

Lunch - one slice of wholemeal toast with beans and small portion of grated cheese.

Dinner - King prawns, pepper, onion and mushroom kebabs, beefburger in a roll with ketchup.

Snacks - Small piece of fruit cake (mil brought it over as a treat), an apple.

Trying to drink 2 litres of water a day, so far managed 1.3 litres. Did some gardening today for an hour or so and walked the dog.

Hope you have all had a good day!

Welldone ParaM. My wii fitness coach camt through today. i had to do all sorts of measurements and exercises (it asked how many crunches etc i could do following the model on the screen - i put none!!) Hoping that will change as time goes by.

Good idea PM with the steps. Our wii fit is in the conservatory and the tv isn't tuned in to anything else, so when i free step i get bored after about 30 secs. Maybe i should try sorting out the tv and stepping when neighbours is on!

Dinner sounds nice Piece. DH's parents are taking DH, DCs and I to the carvery so i will try and pile up on all the veggies. Pudding doesn't come with the cavery so i won't be tempted! grin

Kedgeree blush

I really need a wii fit
I've been doing 30 minutes of steps on the Wii and trying to then do 30 minutes of boxing/hula hoops/running/yoga each day and then a couple of times a week am going for 3-4 mile walk with a friend from down the road.
Am going at this with plenty of exercise as I find it difficult to cut out foods so though i'd cut down instead.

One of my friends has found out that it's something like 37,000 calories in a stone. So I've got plenty to get rid of.
Oh dinner tonight is swedish meatballs with rice and peas. Am off to do 30 minutes of steps on the Wii - whilst flicking over to watch episodes of Chuggington to entertain the DC's.

Just checking in as I was so busy yesterday I didn't have time to. I must say I am super impressed by you all, especially the swimming!

Today was another day dashing to appointments but I logged everything I ate into my online tracker which is invaluable.

PieceNh asked which one I used this one you can have a free 24 hour trial and then it works out at about 9.80 a month. I used it last summer for about 3 months and lost around 20lbs but unfortunately put it all back on again! There is a free one at scroll down the page as well which is not as in depth but still a good guide.

Today I walked about 3 miles and ate

Breakfast - 2 slices of wholemeal toast with thin spread of flora.

Lunch - Bread roll with hummus, olives, lettuce and mixed beans in mint dressing.

Dinner - 100g pasta with courgettes and cured bacon (dry fried), 1/4 tub of half fat creme fraiche and a tbsp of parmesan plus lots of black pepper.

Snacks - some mixed grapes and some lovely licorice and chicory tea I bought earlier.

I am going to try and cutdown on my bread intake tomorrow as it seems to form most of my meals!

How are you all feeling tonight?

welldone slug. Let me know what pilates is like if you go to a class somewhen. I have wondered about pilates or yoga but have never had the confidence!
Went swimming at lunchtime with my equally rotund workmate. We are now eyeing up the Pilates classes.

I also had the same pasta lunch as yesterday. So far today so good.

Well done on the swim LTR - I feel my lack of exercise is letting me down

How is everyone doing on day 3? I have eaten the same pasta as yesterday for lunch but added in some carrots. Went for a 20 min swim too so feeling positive.

welldone Slug grin Bet you feel better for it!
Well, I went swimming at lunchtime grin I couldn't stay long as I had a meeting but i managed 10 lengths of a fairly long pool.

I go to a university union pool, so everyone was skinny and young, but, once I took my contact lenses out, I couldn't see them so I stopped being too bothered by it.

I know on weight watchers you can save any used points a week to try yourself, so maybe you could not use those calories and have a nice treat at the weekend?

I dont know if I can be arsed to count calories. I think if I dont lose anything I will start
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 06-May-09 14:09:03
i have been counting all my calories, ( won't do it forever but want to ensure i am on track in the beginning).

Apparently woman can have up to 1940 a day, but to loose weight need to eat less.

I am working to 1500 a day (I think that's enough!)

Including my evening meal tonight, i'll have eaten 1360.5. Do i need to make that up to 1500 or is that okay? <<< unsure emotion >>>

Tonight I am having chicken, with rice and vegetables so not dissimilar LTR. I was going to make a chicken casserole in the slow cooker but it jumped off the top of the fridge and smashed itself and I haven't found a replacement yet.

Do you all feel motivated still? I was floundering yesterday and I have had one moment today where I've thought 'sod it. I'm going to Krispy Kremes on the way home' but I think I'm past it now and feeling quite chipper.

I've made a fish pie for dinnner.

I'm going to add fry lite to my shopping list and try those chips

Welldone on the fruit and piece on the pasta!

WHat is everyone having for evening meal? I am thinking of doing chicken with 'slimming world' chips (potatoes with fry lite baked in oven) and veggies.

Maybe we could compile a list of healthy choices for brekkie, lunch and Evening meal? Then if we are stuck for ideas we can look at the list

I know what you mean eyeballs.

I want to try and complelty change the way I eat. I want to learn to eat healthy, but its only worth doing if I eat things I like otherwise if once I've lost the weight I will revert back to eating what I like and pile the weight back on again.

I need to find food I like but is healthy so I stick to it forever.

I just had 3oz of white patsta with pesto it was yum! grin and very filling - well lets hope it lasts me till dinner grin

My main problem with dieting, apart from being a greedy fat pig, obviously, is that I have a hard time convincing myself to eat stuff that is good for me not nice because I think I'm wasting precious calories on things I hate. So I tend to stick to small bits of things I like rather than widening my dietary horizons IYSWIM. Doing ok so far though, although I have eaten the equivalent of Tesco's fruit aisle!

I havent got wholemeal pasta, another thing I'll have to add to the shopping list, is it nice?

I am having pasta pieceNh. I weighed out 3oz of wholemeal pasta and have got it with cucumber, tomato, onion and a little bit of cheese. is really tasty and according to the slimming world 'green day' all are free foods bar the cheese (borrowed the books from my mum).
I am not going to follow the slimmingworld diet per-se but will use as a guide to help me.

Your lunch sounds good too pieceNh. Not a big lover of pesto so not sure how healthy it is but am sure it is grin

Welldone on the swimming mamadiva, i want to go too, but won't be able to go before saturday. (Am looking forward to it though!)

I have such warped ideas of food, I also think of pasta as being unhealthy because of the carbs. I really do need to learn about food.
MMMM.... pasta Might have some pasta and arrabiata sauce and a muller rice.

I am off swimming tonight aiming for minimum of 4 lengths! I normally end up sat chilling at the end of the pool talking to some randomer LOL.

I think pasta is always a healthy option it's the portion sizes you have to worry about, well I d anyway I love pasta.

Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 06-May-09 10:54:57
LTR I usually have blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and now strawberries are just coming in season them too, with some fat free plain yogurt and maybe a teaspoon of honey if I need something sweet.

I think I'll get some muesli next time I go shopping

Mamadiva I did Davina's dvd yesterday, it seemed ok. Hard work and my legs hurt today grin but I haven't done another fitness dvd so I have nothing to compare it to

Morning ladies smile

I had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, I need to get some healthy ceral - I'm not keen on porridge. Do any of you know a nice one?

Mamadive I work 3.30pm - 7. 30pm which means I'm not home for dinner either. I normally make it before I go to work if its a bolanagise/curry/stew/chilli/pie and then dh will either reheat it for him and dd at dinner time or if its a pie he'll put it in to cook and I'll reheat mine when I get in.

If I do need to cook something quick when I get it then salmon baked in the oven is quick, so is a stir fry.

Norty Eyeballs weighing yourself today grin
Aldi is great! especially if you are on a budget LTR!

Their fruit and veggies tends to be mega cheap and seem to last longer comapred to asda/tesco obviously.

Go on be brave try some grown up porridge
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 06-May-09 09:53:35
There is a new Aldi in the town near where we live. Haven't been in it before as we've never had one near us, but was thinking of checking it out after i go and pick up a rug doctor from homebase. grin
I just buy the big bag of ALDI porridge for 99p it tastes just as good and only takes 5 minutes maximum to make not much lionger than Ready brek really

I want a slow cooker but DS and DP are the fussiest buggers I have ever met in my life!

Neither will eat veggies of any kind and just for me would be a waste of time really, I just use the steamfresh bags of frozen veg as fresh just goes to waste. blush
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 06-May-09 09:41:50
What sort of porridge do you have Eyeballs? I usually have readybrek as it's what the DCs have, but maybe i should have a more 'grown up' one!! grin

Sounds good mamadiva. I often make the meal in the day or make a few and then put them in the fridge if for that day or the freezer if for another day. Then you can always have a healthy meal ready for when you're home
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 06-May-09 09:40:38
Get a slow cooker. I broke mine last week and it feels like I've lost a limb. Meat, veggies, bit of stock, delicious
I'm just thinking about our dinner tonight now.

I work from 5-7pm Monday-Friday so don't really get a chance to cook dinner for DS and DP so I tend to come in about 8 after they have had theirs and make whatever I can find usually something crappy and quick blush

I might start making the dinner in the afternoon and plate mine up and shove it the microwave so that I have my meal ready amde when I get in just a case of heating it up.

I have heard good about that too but only from 2 friends who are Davina daft LOL. So helpful wonder if I advertise on here if anyone would have any spare?!

I have heard people say good things about the Davina Dvd, though haven't tried it myself (I know that's not very helpful - sorry blush )
Eyeballs back away from the bathroom scales!!

Your weight will naturally go up and down throughout the week but over 7 days it balances itself out so do what I do and put them in an awkward place LOL. In the cupboard under the pots otherwise I'd be weighing every day!!!
Morning ladies!!

Glad to see you all down so well yesterday, I had a bit of a pig out for friend's birthday last night but did say I would start today LOL.

How is everyone feeling today I am feeling majorly motivated for some reason but good times!!!

Well I had some porridge and rasins with a teaspoon of honey was yummy! And I had a glass of milk when I get up as usual but I always do that so work it in with my brekkie although I swear that the milk helps keep me fuller for longer!

I am going on the hunt for some fitness DVD's today can any of you recommend any?

What site is that calorie counter on Chilimama, sounds helpful.

You day sounds healthier than mine. I need to buy a healthy oaty ceral before I get bored of fruit and yoghurt

Did you have wholemeal pasta chilli? I've never tried that before but I'm thinking of buying some
That sounds good to me PieceN, how have you found it? The evenings are hardest for me as well when it comes to snacking.

Well done Eyeballs for resisting the sausage rolls, wine gums don't sound half as bad. Sounds like you did a very sucessful shop!

Today I had

Breakfast - Oat cereal (dry) and a pear
Lunch - Small bowl of pasta with 1/2 a small jar of Dolmio and a tbsp parmesan.
Dinner - Chicken breast, new pots, cauliflower, peas, carrots and a couple of frozen yorkshire puds.
I've had a cup of black coffee and just over 1.5 litres of water (with sugar free squash)

I have been using an online calorie counter and it said I need 1888 cals per day in order to lose approx 2lbs per week. I have also been weighing everything as I have no concept of proper portion sizes. Apparently I have 467 cals left today so I may have an ice lolly later if I need something sweet

Have to go shopping tomorrow so will try and plan out meals in advance as well from then, great idea LTR.

These are now my snacking hours - lethal times for calorie intake.

I can do it - I will not eat!

Eyeballs did you manage it? What healthy things did you buy? Did you avoid the sauage roll aisle?

So far today I have had:

Fruit with yoghurt (breakfast)
Cheese and pickle sandwhich (lunch)
Homemade curry (from jamie's MOF) (dinner)
Fruit and yoghurt (pudding)
And I've drink about 1 litre of water

How does that sound? Bad? Be honest ladies!

I'm going to get DH to take a photo of me in my swimming costume soon, I cannot post it though - trust me its a sight you don't want to see grin I haven't told DH yet though, I'm waiting till its too late at night for him to do a runner out the back door grin

I have been planning my and family's menu for tomorrow (did it straight after dinner when i wasn't hungry)

i am planning to have:
Brekkie: Porridge
lunch: Pasta with salad and a little grated cheese
Evening meal: Roast chicken, roast potatoes cooked with fry lite and lots of veggies grin

If i get hungry i'm going to drink water or eat some fruit.
Want to hire the rug doctor from homebase tomorrow - hopefully cleaning the carpets will help to keep my mind off food!

Well, just got back and I was very good. I will admit to a bag of wine gums on the way home but that was really because I was about to pass out and needed the sugar rush and they were in the car blush. However, managed to get round Tescos and buy good stuff and no crap. Going to have pasta with a tomato sauce tonight. So with that and some fruit I think I'm within my calorie allowance for the day, even if it wasn't a healthy day. But am well prepared for tomorrow. Got yogurts, fruit etc so should be ok.

My problem now is that I have to last another hour and a half and then I have to go to Tesco where I must steel myself not to buy a dozen sausage rolls and stuff them all in my gob in one go.

Well done Chili. Acceptance is half the battle! Now s'cuse me while I go and be sick, platitudes make me nauseous!

Seriously, we'll do this. It will take time and we may stumble along the way but we can do it. I've done it before, maybe you lot have too. It was amazing and I'm only sorry that my phobia of being photographed means there is no proof of how good I looked at my lowest of 10st 4. My best friend was 16st at the time and she admitted that she hated me. Now it's the other way round and I hate her and am furious with myself for letting it go. I don't want dd to grow up with an unfit mother, I want to be able to take her swimming and bike riding and nature walks.

Just one day at a time, think how fantastic we'll feel to even lose a few pounds. Imagine that scales saying 19st something and work from there
Well done Eyeballs for posting that, I'm afraid my weight is even more blush

I think so. If I post my weight then I might be more inclined to stay with this. After all, if anyone in RL says 'you're how much???' then I can say, ah yes, I was but no more!

You don't need to put your weight if you don't want to but a loss or gain chart would be useful I think.

How about a cumulative chart....

Monday 4 May (I know it's Tues!)
mamadiva - start weight 16st 6lbs wk1. -4 (total -4)
Eyeballs - start weight undisclosed wk1. +10 (total +10)

Or do we want to keep track of each week's loss?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 05-May-09 13:17:55
Let's do the weight chart indeed!

DH has set up something on excel for me where i type in my weight and it does the calculations for me.
So shall we all be brave and have a weight chart with our names and weights on it and once a week we change the weight and note whether we have - or +?

It's actually quite liberating saying your weight <<dons feminist hat >>

so say

mamadiva - start weight 16st 6lbs wk1. -4 wk2. +2

Does that make sense?

How about a monday that way we are all doing it at the same time?

My goal is 11st but breaking it into small goals of 7lbs to make it more attainable.

Have any of you tried WW it is fantastic, well the first 3 times I went blush LOL.

I know what you mean eyeballs with the sandwich. Anything tastes good when we're hungry!

That is going to be a big thing for me, the hunger. I seem to be hungry most of the time - possibly due to the fact i eat crappy foods which give me a rush of energy but are not nutritionally valid.

Let's have a list of foods we can snack on anytime of day if we are hungry without feeling guilty

List

carrot sticks
cucumber sticks
tomatoes
apples
oranges
bananas
grapes

Feel free to add to the list grin

LOL, DH said at Center Parcs last year he'd never seen someone leave their towel on the chair and get into the water as quick as me in his life!

Mama, I'd need a sort of kaftan affair to cover from the tips of my hair to the tips of my toes!

As I right in assuming that, as we are all aiming to lose 6 stone, that we're all around the same weight? Not asking for details but just checking that there are no 12 stoners amongst us who are looking to get to 7 stone! This of course doesn't include our skinny-malink member Mumcentreplus who only wants to lose a measly three stone wink

grin eyeballs

Its the thought of walking from the changing rooms to the pool that puts me off, far too exposed!

Thanks for the idea aboout the lettuce mamadiva, I'll give that a try. I welcome all suggestions gratefully
Eyeballs I did go swimming up until christmas but the pool shut for a bit and now friend does'nt want to go etc (insert suitable excuse here) LOL.

I felt like everyone was staring at me the first one or 2 times and then I either did'nt notice or did'nt care.

As my mum says though, It's not how many eyes are staring at you, it's how many eyes you are staring at!

Go for it girl I got a lovely swimming costume from Evans for £25 it holds everything in well, and covers what it needs to cover plus it has a pretty design at the top across the bust to distract from my legs

Notice me avoiding the swimming discussion btw blush. If I got in a pool then all the water would get out!

I am indeed going to go on my own mamadiva. DH has got both of us health club memberships through work ages ago. He uses his but i have always put off using mine.

Will start with the pool, don't think i could face the gym right now with all those skinny people!!
I don't like Iceberg lettuce but love little gem lettuce if that's any use.

I buy the little gem lettuce and just take whole leaves off them say about 4, mix some tuna, extra light mayo and sweetcorn together, dollop that inside the lettuce leaves put some grated red onion through it if you like and a teeny bit of cheese on top.

Makes little lettuce boats

Only good for in the house though obviously, I find that with a piece of fruit and a yoghurt is lovely and filling.
Are you going swimming by yourself?

I guess I am just paranoid that I will go and only be able to do one or 2 lengths before needing to stop for breath. blush

We should try and set some targets on lengths and see if that helps.

Cheese sandwhich it is then.

I need to find a salad I enjoy. I'm not keen on lettuce and hate tomatoes so it kinda rules a lot out.

The weight watchers yoghurts are the only low fat nice ones i like. The muller light have a horrible taste about them i don't like.

I am having a cheese sandwich too. Might put it under the grill and have lots of salad to go with it.

(often i'd be eating something unhealthy like a Big mac with an apple pie for afters blush )

Haven't thought about my shopping list yet, but know i want to buy brown rice and wholemeal pasta.

I don't know about healthy but it's what I'm having too I'm also suffering from lack of shopping as this was a late decision spurred on by LTR's thread last night. Tescos tonight and loads of fruit, revolting lovely yogurts and calorie free stuff will jump into my trolley.

I've done the DVD, I cant breathe and I fear tomorrow I will be all seized up and unable to move - but at least its done now

Slug - well done on giving up the alcohol, not something I think I could do TBH. I never think of it as being calories, I wonder how much I could lose if I just restricted my drinking to say just on a Saturday night.

Before pictures are a great idea - I should pin them to the fridge and the cupboards to stop me eating but then it would absolutely terrify everyone else grin

Off to have a shower and then lunch. I have no idea what to have for a healthy lunch and I'm restricted to what we have in the house as dd is having her nap. I have brown bread so could make a cheese sandwhich, is that healthy?
