I started slimming world a few weeks back and lost 4 1/2 lbs. I haven't been in a fortnight and wont be able to go again untill after christmas because of childcare arrangements.
I need meals that are easy to cook, cheep, warming and suitable for a 17 month old and a 6 month old.

Im finding it quite hard to lose any weight atm so thought I would try a new tactic of planning my meals out as then I will know what to cook each evening and feel i will be less likely to cheat.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Hi spooky charlotte, I was on rosemary conley which was just calorie controlled really, not sure if you need something with low carbohydrate or anything but here is a meal I used to make myself;

Pork loin steaks with mediterranean veg;
This is v easy if you are working all day, all you need to do is put your loin steaks in tupperware in the fridge the morning when you go to work with some balsamic vinegar, honey, and a tiny bit of a spoonful of lazy chillies (get them at supermarket in a jar last for ages).
When ready to cook you can fry with a bit of fry spray and roast cherry tomatoes, chestnut mushrooms, chunks of red onion and peppers in the oven. The tomatoes burst and coat the other veg so it doesnt get too dry, takes about 15 mins in a fan assisted at 200. Voila, and if you are looking to add extra cals for your kiddies you can serve with a wee bit of pasta with spinach and parmesan mixed in, no need to precook the spinach if it is baby spinach.

Got loads more if you are interested let me know.

i tend to make the same meals each week on slimming world, for example -

red day - my version of shepherds pie - mince, onion, celery, carrot, any other veg you fancy fried in fry light and add beef bovril, then top with mashed swede and carrot or you could do butternut squash, and under the grill for 15 mins, my little girl loves this

red day - sausage and chicken in tomato sauce - using low fat sausauges (sains bgty extra lean cumberland saus are 1/2 syn each or the bowyers ones are too i think) cook sausages in oven then cut up into chunks, fry some chicken wih red peppers onion celery and garlic (can add a bit of chilli if you like) til golden then add passata or chopped toms and fresh herbs and simmer for 20 mins then add sausages and cook for furhter 5 mins and serve with veg or butternut squash mash

green day - pasta with parma ham and spring veg - cook some pasta in boiling water and 6 mins before end of cooking time add chopped asparagus/runner beans/sugar snap peas/any other green veg etc to water, in another pan fry 28g per person of parma ham (or normal ham for cheaper alt) with some garlic, then add to the drained pasta and veg with 1tbsp of creme fraiche and 28g parmesan per person - (as healthy extra) 4.5 syns per person

green - spag bol - using 85g mince as your healthy extra - or 170g as 2 b choice healthy extras that day, cook with chopped tomatoes, onion, garlic mushroom and carrots and celery and serve with loads of pasta

hope one of those comes in useful for you, good lukc with your weight loss

I like green days best:
Jacket spud with batchlors pasta on top is a quick fix and also filling.
Home made chips (par boiled then oven cooked with fry light) beans and fried egg.
Veg roast dinner or with chicken from healthy extra.
A full breakfast beans, egg, potatoes, grilled tom, veg sos.
Pinacolada's shepards pie can also be made with celeric on top.
Your on the right track tough. The only way i can stick to plan is to make a meal planner for the week then shop to it and stick to it.

Good luck, just think how fab you'll look at christmas!!! Hang a dress up that is just one size smaller than you. Thats a great reward!!!
