I decided last week to start juicing after seeing my cousin who had lost a stone in 3 weeks!! I only want to lose half a stone after the excesses of the summer so I thought starting off with a diet comprising vegetable and fruit juice might be interesting (as well as challenging).
So I bought a Juicemaster book (7lb in 7 days) and started juicing yesterday. Today I worked out to one of my DVDs for an hour and have just returned from the park with my DTS. I'm still not hungry!!
I have been drinking fresh juices, which are absolutely delicious as well as exhilerating and I feel fabulous. I plan to do this until Saturday so it will be interesting to see if Jason Vale's promise that you will not feel hungry at all holds true.
Was wondering if anybody else had tried this regime?
Yes I have and found its a fantastic way to get healthy and lose weight at the smae time. I always found wednesday the hardest day (about 3 days in) and sometimes didn't manage to stay 100% on the juice as my willpower is rubbish! But even so, with a little bit of a cheat I lost about 5lbs in 1 week. I did find myself hungry sometimes though so I would just make up another juice to carry me over. Take something for constipation! I took the psyllium husks and they helped a lot! Good luck and let me know how you get on!
I'd be really interested to knowif it works for you. I have a juicer and I do love the juice but find cleaning it such a faff that I don't use it nearly often enough . If I thought I'd lose some weight though......
Cleaning is a faff but it's only for 1 week and anybody can do anything for 1 week!
Top tips would be to 1. use ice so they are nice and chilled 2. if you can, try to make them up as you go along rather then storing them in a flask not always practical I know 3. don't use too much psyllium husk in each juice or store it in a flask otherwise it goes all thick and horrible 4. use less of the uchey veg like celery and beetroot and more of the carrot/pineapple/apple if you find the taste a bit too 'veggie' and strong and prefer a sweeter taste. 5. if you are struggling and hungry then make a faveourite juice or snack on some veg/fruit rather then be tempted by other foods and risk sabbotaging the diet. It is the less of 2 evils.
I take the cleaning of the juicer in my stride. I am really amazed by the fact that I am not hungry and have decided that if I do start to crave solid food, I'll just have a banana smoothie made with low fat yogurt, apple juice and banana.
The real revelation for me is that spinach and celery juice combined with apple and pineapple juice is delicious!
Well, I am now on day 4 and still not hungry! I am absolutely astounded by this. Yesterday I had a meeting at work and was not able to take my juices so I just had an apple and some grapes during the buffet lunch. I was not even tempted to try the tasty sandwiches.
I've noticed that my clothes are really loose on me now so I weighed and measured myself. I've lost 4lbs and an inch from both my waist and hips. My tummy is becoming flatter and I feel really revitalised. I worked out to a DVD this morning for 45 minutes and was amazed by how much energy I had.
This diet has definitely changed my whole approach to nutrition, diet and eating and I will incorporate it into my lifestyle from now on. The amazing thing is that right now, I do not want to eat any whole food. I just want to have my juices!!
I have just received the follow on book which has a 14 day plan to reintroduce solids but to keep on juicing. Originally I wanted to lose just 7lb but I have revised that I will be aiming to lose 14lb - I reckon I will achieve that by the end of the month, if not sooner!
The calories you consume are absoloutly impossible to work out IMO as you are just drinking the juice from the fruit and veg and not rhe fibrous pulp. Very difficult to work out!
Sounds fantastic! I was just thinking about loosing a few lbs, like you maybe 7lbs. I may try this now as I need to stop eating crap and putting rubbish into my body! Not sure if you have said, but what is the book called?
The one downside to this diet though is the amount of apples you go through. I have just bought another 18 apples and I reckon that I have used between 24 to 30 apples since Sunday! I have used 4 pineapples to date and need to purchase another one for tomorrow and Saturday.
Well I have started juicing today! brought all the fruit and veg I need, only thing i havent got is the juicer but i just thought i could use my food processor, however it's abit lumpy (drinking it now!!!) What is the difference between a juicer and blender/ processor? It's quite yummy still. Having one for lunch and one for dinner. Im guessing this is probably cheaper than actually eating meals? Also havent got the book, found a few on the website last night and may go to town tomorrow to get the book, can anyone give me a few others to make please?
Also does the fruit/ veg need to be cooked first? Keep apple skins on etc?
MascaraOHara it doesn't cost a lot of money, probably around £50 for the week but it depends on where you buy your produce from.
npg1 A juicer extracts the juice from the product and leaves behind the 'pulp', a blender is different alltogether, it blends all of your ingredients together, when you want to leave out the pulp so not what you want. A smoothy maker and a blender are the same thing. A juicer is different. You can't really use a blender for this diet unless it has a seperate juicing function. I hope this helps. A lot of juicers have Jason Vale promoting them on the front of them so that it will help you to decide. I got a decent one from Argos for around £40 I think. You definately should buy the book before you begin. I wouldn't do it without reading the book first. You don't know what you are supposed to juice, the supplements you need to take, the science behind it or even how to do it properly. It's not something to go into lightly. Please read the book first.
A blender is different from a juicer as ellideb said. You need a proper juicer to extract the juice and leave behind all the pulp - a blender will not do that.
I am using a juicer from Kenwood which we received as a wedding present 7 years ago and which sat in a cupboard since then. I knew it would come in handy one day and it has been working overtime since Sunday.
MOH, it has costs more because I am getting through more apples and pineapple than we usually do as a family (and we eat lots of fruit). However, when offset against the benefits that I am deriving, then it is worth it, particularly as this first intense stage only lasts 7 days. I will reintroduce solid food from day 8 but will still replace two meals with juices (my choice).
I really can't stress enough how relatively painless I have found this diet and the results are absolutely remarkable in terms of weight and inches lost!
My cousin did this diet last month and she lost a stone in 3 weeks and she did not follow it strictly like me (ate proper meals in the evening but kept portions small). She is the reason why I decided to give it a go because she could not praise it enough.
Best of luck to those of you embarking on this regime.
One of the juices that Jason Vale gives is the one that Jordan used to lose her baby weight. It is a combination of apple, celery, pineapple, avocado, cucumber, lime (thinking from memory) plus something else. It really is delicious and that is what I have been drinking today. I have had three glasse so far and plan to have another around 7pm.
TGS I think a decent juicer will costs between £50 to £70 but I know the one we have only costs £25 (wedding list so know the price). It is not brilliant (not as efficient at extracting as I would like and clogs up to quickly) but is fit for purpose.
I usually have between 4 or 5 glasses a day but you can drink as much as much as you want. I find drinks containing avocado very filling (and tasty)!
LFC Fibre is provided by adding wheatgrass to the juices. My bowels have moved everyday and that was one thing I was worried about. He does say that if you are having problems in that area, to drink prune juice.
hi there, I want to loose 7lbs-10lbs but just can't get the enthusiasm for it. I am going to a conference next week so probably not a great time to start but I might get this book.
Thanks for posting this - I am going to order the book and give it a go.
One questions - do you think its one of these diets that when you start eating normally again (and I mean normally, not excessively like I have been doing over the summer ) you put the weight back on again?
TF, from my perspective (and that of my cousin), we have already changed our eating habits. On this diet, I feel energised, alert and satiated. It shows that I don't need to ingest huge quantities of solid food. One of the things that Vale stresses about this diet is that it is nutritionally filling. Many people are undernourished because they don't eat enough of the right food in order to receive the amounts of vitamins and minerals that they need. Juicing provides these vitamins and minerals in a concentrated dose so that is why one is satiated and does not feel hungry (proper physical hunger, not psychological or emotional hunger which are entirely different and responsible for one putting on weight). Consequently, if one changes one's eating habits, the weight will not go back on. I will be eating much smaller portions from now on plus I intend to juice regularly.
LFC, I don't have the book with me at the moment but Vale does address that point.
spokette it is not the wheatgrass that adds the fibre it is the psyllium husks.
lauriefairycake you remove the pulp because it is more difficult for your body to digest it. The reason you do extract it in the first place is so that your body doesn't have to do any challenging digestion and just gets the pure juice, or liquid gold as JV puts it! By adding Psyllium husks you are adding a differnt sort of bulk, it is indigestable so it is not challenging your body, just bulking out your bowel movements.
jason vale is brill. i followed his plan last year and did well but used a bereavement as an excuse to eat crap again.
however, he has changed the way i think about food. you dont feel hungry on the diet, you feel full and nourished. it's a way of life really. good, sensible nutrition rules. i started juicing again a few days ago.
the only thing is i got heartburn, not really sure why. but felt energised. and you do buy a ridiculous amount of apples! instead of four apples in my morn juice i had three and a carrot.
I know I should not do it but could not resist. I stepped on the scales first thing this morning...............
I've lost 5lb in total so far!
I've drunk half a glass of the turbo charge juice at 8am and that is all I have had so far other than a glass of water. I just do not feel hungry. This diet is fabulous!
alright i need to lose weight by next saturday <cant fit into my best jeans and have a party> was thinking slimfast but this sounds good.
but i dont have time to order the book so if its not in woolies ill need recipes and do you have to use stupid expensive fruits that no one in my town will have heard of let alone sell? we have one health shop and its tiny they have enough room for vit c and thats about it.
Actually I concur with ellideb. You really do need to read the book first and get into the right mindset to do this diet/lifestyle change because it is hardcore.
This is not just a diet for me but a complete overhaul of my diet and attitude/approach to food as well as nutrition. Juicing is something that I plan to do regularly because I know that it is the one thing that will help keep my weight under control, provide copious amounts of vitamins/minerals, regulate my appetite as well as ensure I have a flat tummy (not bad considering I'm 43yo!!)
I still have not drunk any juice since 8am because I am just not hungry. I'm drinking water but there is no physical hunger. That is absolutely incredible and is something that Jason Vale says will happen. He completed a triatholon after consuming only one glass of juice that day.
On day 4 I was wearing a pair of jeans (size 12) where I could not do up the top two buttons before I started this regime. On day 6 they are sagging around my bottom. I have not measured myself again but I can tell that I have lost at least two inches of my hip, waist, thighs and arms. I'm shrinking.
is it worth buying the book then considering that i live in a small town where peppers are considered an exotic food? or will there be loads of fruits/veg that are must have that my town dont have anywhere i.e. fennel seeds <needed them once for a curry couldnt get them anywhere>, wheatgerm, lemon grass etc,
SSSSSS With JM's Super Juice, you are suppose to add wheatgrass, spirulina and acidophilus bacteria powder. I did not because I did not have any! So I just made it up using the the other ingredients - lime, apple, pineapple, cucumber and avocado.
Super Detox Juice comprises apples, cucumber, celery, spinach and power green powder. I did not have power green powder so just used lettuce. In terms of having the most easily available ingredients, the Juice Master Turbo Express is easy and is the main one that Jordan used to lose 28lbs in 3 months.
1/4 small pineapple 1/2 stick celery 1 inch chunk cucumber 1 small handful of spinach leaves 1 small piece of peeled lime 2 golden delicious or royal gala apples 1/4 ripe avocado ice cubes
Juice everything except avocado. Place juices plus avocado flesh in blender and blend until smooth.
You can get more guidance and recipes from his website here but please read about it first before embarking on the diet. Good luck!
ah good im fairly sure that i can get all of those things here. tesco are quite good now as it has expanded so they should sell avocados now. i know the fruit and veg shop doesnt. thanks for that i will check out tesco and invest in the book.
"I have just completed your 7lbs in 7 days plan and want to say how amazed I was at the results - I lost 15lbs!!!!!! I am still in absolute shock. I wasn't severly overweight - was 11stone 3lbs and am now 10 stone 2lbs."
Reading those comments I actually feel a bit disappointed because I have only lost 5 lb to date but I guess they were more overweight and I only wanted to lose 7lb initially anyway so I need to keep perspective!!
im definately doing this. im way overweight and need strict diet rules or i wont stick to it. thats why i was going to do slimfast. cutting down doesnt work for me i either all in or all out iyswim?
i think to get into my jeans again ill need to lose 7lb ish. i can get them on and done up they are just uncomfortable.
hopfully i will wont lose too much and end up needing smaller jeans
good luck to you sounds like you are doing great. to lose 15lb that quickly you have got to be very overweight take it from a serial dieter. i did the maple syrup one and lost a stone in two weeks and i was quite overweight then.
I did it last year and lost those promised 7Ibs in 7 days....also then continoued Juicing the Turbocharge way... I found it all easy enough...however, after a few month I was sick after drinking a Juice and can not face drinking Juice now....I tried a few times and started heaving...not sure why that is, tbh....but hohum....
I plan to replace two meals with juices for the next 14 days after I complete the 7 day programme and then after that, have a juice once a day, probably for lunch.
Well I have completed the 7 day programme and I have lost <<drum roll>>
8lb in total!!! Yippee, <<does a lap of the kitchen>>, <<punches the air>>, <<takes a bow>>.
I cannot believe how easy and fulfilling I found this diet. Not only have I lost weight, I have changed my mindset towards diet, food as well as nutrition and I have dropped a dress size in a week! Before, I was a 12-14, now I am a 10-12 with a nearly flat tummy.
I'm going to embark on the 14 day programme now because I want to lose a another 7-10lb. I'm going to make the butternut squash soup and have that for dinner along with a couple of slices of rye bed. For breakfast and lunch I will have the Turbo Charge smoothie - mmmmmm yummmie!
I'm off to do some exercise now!
Thanks for all the support, encouragement, advice and comments and I'll keep you posted.
Well done you...beware that whilse the Turbocharge programme promisses a similar succes...as you are already slim...you may not lose as much as quickly....when I did it, I lost the promised 7Ibs but on Turbocharge I only lost a further 3 Ibs in that fortnight.... which was still brill...just don't be disappointed, iykwim...and you never know you may still lose another 7Ibs or more anyway...
The only thing that I am somewhat about is the fact you have to take supplements etc. that implies that actually, you're not getting all your nutrician from the juices.
also the absolute need to read the book before embarking on the diet sounds very money-making to me - it must be possible to do research into how to do it in a way that does not cost money? JV must have come up with the concept from somewhere after all?
There are plenty of Juicing Websites...so, if you have a sound knowledge of nutrition and the time, then indeed it would be easy enough to make up your own programme....
It's been to long ago to remember the supplements...but they are, if I remember correctly a Probiotic one, and then things like Spirulina (which is a dried seeweed thing, so natural)and can't think if there was more...I think an oil one maybe...like I said it's to long ago...
I would think that you do ge a very nutritious diet whilst doing it....lots of Avocado, forinstance.... and all that fruit and vegetable...
oh another supplement is Psyllium Husk....but that is because a lot of fiber is lost whilst only doinng juices...
Congratulations Spokette! That is really good! I have never done the Turbo Charge mayself, but I do have the book so I will be interested to hear how you find it. Keep us posted!
Wannabe, wrt to supplements, I did not take any. I left them out, including the Psyllium Husk and seaweed stuff and my bowels did not stop moving.
Yesterday I made the butternut squash soup and had that with two slices wholemeal bread (could not find any rye bread). The only other thing I ate yesterday was a banana plus one of the juices.
Today, I have had no appetite and have only had three glasses of water. I'm about to have some of the Turbo Charge Smoothie and grapes for lunch and for dinner I'll have the remaining soup that I made yesterday.
This diet works for me because it has neutralised my appetite. I just do not feel hungry and I don't snack anymore.
Just a quick update. Lost another 3lb. Weight loss has slowed now that I am ingesting more solids but I am delighted with my progress. So in total I have lost 11lb in two weeks! I have lost inches all over my body too.
Juicing is natural to me now - I juice in the evening and put the smoothie in the fridge overnight so it is ready for breakfast plus I have some for lunch.
My clothes are so loose on me now that I am going to have to invest in more size 10 clothing. Looks like a spending spree at Bluewater is on the cards!!
I did not add the bacteria to my smoothies - just used veg and fruit.
The 3lb lost is on phase two (first week). I have loss lots of inches but not surprised weight loss has slowed dramatically because I only needed to lose 7lb in the first place anyway.
Quick update. Loss another 4lb so 15lb in 3 weeks!!
DH wants me to stop now because he wants to feel flesh and not bones. As I am now wearing size 10 clothes, I am content to stop but I still intend to carry on juicing. Having juices for breakfast and lunch is enough to satiate me for the day but I will add fruit, protein and some complex carbs to my lunches in order to make sure I keep my diet properly balanced.
After the third day, I made up batches the evening before so I had something ready first thing in the morning. By day 5 I found that I did not need anything until about midday because I just was not hungry.
Well done on making it to day two. Once you get to day 4, it gets a lot easier because your body is more used to the regime.
I am ready to start the 7lbs in 7 days programme this week but have lost my shopping list. I have enought fruit for today's juice's but no more. Someone said it was on Jason Vale's site but I can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I am still just having juices for breakfast and lunch. My appetite has been revolutionised because I rarely snack and eat only small portions now of solid food because I feel bloated if I eat too much. I went for a luchtime meal on Sunday and did not need anything else for the rest of the day because I was so full.
THanks spokette, I thought he had a shopping list there too but it must have been taken down.
I am day 2 and really struggling to be honest. I am not hungry, just really, really tired with a muzzy head. Will this go?? I went to bed at 8.30 last night and am contemplating a nap now (I work from home and my bed is across the landing!)
Its really encouraging to hear success stories. Alongside wanting to loose about a stone, I also want to change my eating habits as I have fallen into some bad ones.
hi spokette i shall be starting the diet again as of next monday. i managed 3 days and then we had unexpected guests for dinner and i caved in as my curry smelt sooo good.
Twofalls, the first 3 days are the hardest. When I gave DH and DTS their meals, I disappeared to another room and busied myself. I also kept chanting "it is only for 7 days". Like you, I was not hungry but my mouth felt deprived of chewing[lol]. I did not feel really tired either. Do you drink a lot of coffee by any chance because that may explain your symptoms if you are not drinking it now?
By day 4, psychologically you do not want to give up because you are past the halfway point. Plus you can feel the difference in the way your clothes fit which really spurs you on. Good luck!
Good luck again iamamummy. Did you lose any inches/weight over the three days you did the programme?
Thanks for the encouragement spokette, I need it, although Day 3 today and I feel an awful lot better - I am even going to go for a run later which I couldn't have contemplated yesterday or Monday. I absentmindedly had some of DD's uneaten porridge this morning (which actually is probably where all my problems started in the first place - finishing her food) and it felt so strange!
I don't drink a lot of coffee but probably do drink 3-4 cups of tea a day so that was what the headaches were probably about.
Hi twofalls. Just throwing you some extra support to keep going now that you are on day 4. By day 4, I had lost inches on hips and waist and was wearing jeans that I could not do up prior to starting the regime.
Hope you managed to go for your run. I remember having so much energy and vitality. My cousin, who introduced me to the diet, had the same experience. Like me, she has revolutionised her diet, lost nearly two stones in two months and feels wonderful.
The main thing that constantly amazes me is how my appetite has changed, I no longer snack and I become full eating much smaller portions. Yesterday, I had a small glass of turbo charge juice for breakfast, a bigger glass for lunch and dinner was a small portion of spaghetti bolognese followed by a biscuit. I drink lots of water too throughout the day.
thanks so much for the encouragement spokette, I have to say I feel really good today. It is so strange how I am just not hungry. DD offered me a twiglet earlier today and it wasn't hard to say no - that isn't like me at all
I did go for my run and my clothes are definitely feeling a bit looser. I am going to do the turbo charge next. I will keep you posted!
Day 5 and 5lbs lost and clothes definitely looser!
I have to say though, for some reason, the thought drinking juice for another 3 days is beginning to make me feel a bit queasy and I don't want to go off it all together so I might start the turbo charge tomorrow instead of Monday. Then again, I might not...... will see how I feel.
Well done twofalls. Let us know how you get on with the turbo charge programme. I am currently sipping the turbo charge juice and that is all I have had all day because I am having pizza with the family for dinner.
Even though I am not trying, I still lost another pound in weight this week so 16lb in 4 weeks!
i have had my first juice of the day, totally in a different mind set this time around than the first so thats a good sign. i feel positive that i can stick with it (remind me of this on day 3 lol)
spokette where did you buy your fruit and veg from? i went to aldi yesterday and stocked up and was shocked at how cheap the whole lot was for the first 3 days - it came to just over a tenner!!
iamamummy how are you getting on? I initially bought my fruit and veg from Somerfield - big mistake! Very expensive. I then went to Aldi and that was much cheaper and just as good! Unfortunately, there are no markets where I live so have to use supermarket.
poshtottie, best of luck. Being in the right frame of mind is half the battle. By the time you get to day 4, you really feel the benefits (as well as the loose clothing) and that spurs you on. My appetite has changed drastically and I only eat small portions now because I feel full very quickly.
I still have juices Mon-Fri for breakfast and lunch because I actually prefer them to solid food!If I do feel peckish, I eat fruit or if I have a craving, I will succumb to a biscuit or chocolate but that rarely happens!!(lol)
spokette - all is going well so far! i am slightly peckish in the evenings but i have managed to not pick at anything. i find market produce goes mouldy very quick so i am sticking with aldi, you cant complain at their prices.
i really hope i can change my lifestyle like yours i definately need it!
well done iamamummy! About day 4 I had a real need for something so I had a few brazil nuts. that really seemed to do the trick and staved off the need for anything else.
I am on the turbo charge now but am finding it hard to fit the exercise in. I have lost 7lbs in 9 days but had a bad day on Monday as I was on a course and forgot to take any food with me so I had sandwiches and succumbed to a couple of biscuits. The strange thing was though I didn't want to eat loads and I normally would have so it has definitely changed the portions I can eat and what I fancy, which is amazing. Back on the program now. My aim is to loose between 10-14lbs and I actually think I can do it.
Good luck poshtottie, I found going out with my morning cuppa really hard for the first few days and I felt really tired and headachey. That went by the 3rd day and now don't even think about a cup of tea.
twofalls, well done! I definitely know what you mean about portion sizes and reduced appetite. Don't worry about the bad days. Just keep on with the programme and you will definitely lose 14lbs by the end of the month if not sooner.
iamamummy, excellent news and keep going.
So far today, I have had the turbo charge juice for breakfast and lunch. I also had some grapes and kiwi fruit with my lunch plus one cappucino around 11am. Also drinking plenty of water. No hunger pangs or cravings. Dinner will be homemade chicken soup.
I have just ordered that book!!! can't wait for it to arrive. Need to buy a juicer though...are they actually called 'juicers'?..not smoothie makers or anything??
I hate hate hate vegetables..so will be sticking to the fruit side of it.
Great stories here, i don't own any scales though....so will have to go with the clothes feeling looser way. Might buy some though...hmmmmm.
The problem if have always had when dieting is not having the energy...i have lots of young uns to run around after so need all the energy i can get.
Idobelieveinghosts, Yes a juicer is different from a blender/smoothie maker though I think you need to have both.
You say you hate veg but they taste very different when juiced. I had a carrot, apple, celery and ginger juice (finally dusted off my juicer) yesterday and it was lovely.
Best of luck poshtottie! Just take it one day at a time.
If you are having a friend over for dinner on Thursday, have juices all day and just eat a small portion of the meal in the evening (try to limit the carbs)and then carry on with programme until Sunday. You will still lose lots of weight. Also, if you incorporate cardio exercise, that will compensate for your meal on Thursday.
I was visiting family over the weekend and over-indulged a bit so I am just having juices for today and then juices for breakfast/lunch Tuesday -Thursday and a light meal in the evening.
I feel so good, not hungry and really healthy. I was a little concerned about nutrition so I've been eating a salad in the evenings but I'm going to move onto the 7 day plan this week.
I can't fit in all the juices either.
What's your favourite? I think I like the super-chute best.
Oh, and isn't the hot water with lemon great? I was a bit when I read about them but they're incredibly refreshing and a great start to the day. Just as good as tea for me and much better for you.
Arfishy, juicing is absolutely wonderful. My cousin introduced me to juicing. She had lost a stone in three weeks and went from a siz 14 to size 12. It has completely changed her approach to eating and nutrition. This is a way of life for me now and it is so easy.
My favourite juice is the turbo charge one. I can survive on just that because it is so filling as well as healthy. My other favourite juice is the warm apple juice with cinnamon. I find that really refreshing and comforting.
just to let you know i managed to lost 6lbs last week, have had a break for today with the juicing but starting again tomorrow.
i have over 2 stone to lose so hence why i am doing another week of juicing then after that i can hopefully graduate to just juicing during the day and healthy evening meal.
I am starving this morning and have a raving headache. I have a very high metabolism so get hungry very quickly and will see how I get on today. Might have to have a banana.
Well done iamamummy. That is fantastic amount of weight to lose!.
Poshtottie, drink lots of juice because they will fill you up. Also, try having one of the juices with avocado because they are very filling. If that does not satiate you, have a large banana!
well i might give this a go, which book do you recommend buying the 7 day 7lb one? I am bfing though so will have to check it out properly first, i am 12 3lbs and max recommended weight for my height is 11 7lb, i have lost all sense of portion size and eat like a horse so it might be the break that helps
i have a juicer and a blender and never use the juicer
wow I've just read this thread and am amazed! It sounds fab. Arfishy do you know can you get the book in Oz? I am inspired by you all. I totally love fruit and veg so this will suit me no en.
Littleducks, I started with the 7lb in 7 days. I was always sceptical about things like this but after seeing the success that my cousin had, I gave it ago and have not looked back!
I lost 16lb in 4 weeks and tbh, the last 4lb I lost without even trying. Juicing has curtailed my appetite, I no longer snack and I eat smaller portions. I love juicing!! It is healthy and you feel full of vitality.
The great thing about this lifestyle is that if I overindulge like I did at the weekend, I just have juices for a couple of days to compensate. My cousin went on holiday, put on 4lb, juiced for a week and lost 7lb!!
Last week I spent £200 just on shoes to go with the new outfits that I bought and because I feel so good about what I have achieved. DH keeps telling me how wonderful I look so that is another great motivator.
OK, another new recruit here Spokette. I need to lose at least a stone, bu I think I wil stick to it better if I just do 2 juices for breakfast/lunch then a light main meal. I want it to be part of my lifestyle.
BTW, Tesco's have Juicers reduced, there's one reduced from £40 to £20 (Tesco's own) and a Value one for £4.99. To show my commitment, I've got the £20 one.
Well I had to resort to taking something for my headache. It is the worse headache I have ever had. I haven't been able to do any exercise. Maybe I should have done a gradual withdrawel from the caffeine, though I only had 2 coffees and 1 tea a day.
Claudia - yes, I've got it, from Borders I think. I've not done the full 7 day plan before, have always had a salad in the evening, but I'm going hard core next week.
Arfishy, I couldn't get the 7lb in 7days book but got something similar. Am starting tomorrow, have got a MOUNTAIN of fruit and veg here all ready to go also bought Psyllium husks and Spirulina. I will be a GODDESS!
This book recommends that you prepare for juicing by having a few days of raw food first - and no meat/fish/dairy/shite either. Did you all do this or did you just go straight into juicing?
I went straight into juicing and now its day three and I feel quite good today. Yesterday was not a good day and I only had 3 out of the 5 juices and I ate some dried apricots as I was cooking supper for ds and was tempted to eat his leftover chicken.
Had a juice last night for tea, and another for breakfast. Have got ideas from the website, so far so good. Will do hardcore until Sunday (IL's 40th wedding anniversary, so can hardly bring my juice!) and then start up again on Monday. Bugger to clean the juicer though!
Right - i am inspired by you all. i am 5ft3 and weigh 11 stone
i do a sitting down office job, but never stop at home
i saw photos of myself last night and was horrified so i am determined to do the juicing plan and lose half a stone by Christmas.
Spokette do you think it would work if i had juice for brekky and lunch then a small portion of normal meal for dinner? i dont want my 3 year old to see me dieting and learn weight issues. i have never heard of those psillium or whatever, do i need them or can i just do fruit and veg?
i need to buy a juicer - will try tesco as recommended above
please can you all support me? i am fed up of bursting out of my jeans!
