Started the cambridge diet this morning, trying to get a bit of weight off for my wedding.
I have only had one drink so far and if they all taste that bad I can see how the diet works you don't want to rush to the next meal cause you are still feeling sick from the first one.

I actually cannot believe I am doing this diet cause I just think it is madness on so many levels but hey ho the things we do, but I know I am going to really struggle if they are all horrid. If I am not eating I at least want to enjoy the little that is going into my stomach.

I started this morning too!! grin

I have to say that I found it suprisingly ok. I had butterscotch what did you have?

Are you doing sole source?

noddyholder Mon 28-Apr-08 10:01:28

I have been drinking smoothies twice a day plus one meal and it works and tates delicious.I am not needing to lose masses of weight though maybe half a stone so not sure if its any good for large amounts,Cheaper and ehalthier than slimfast

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern Mon 28-Apr-08 10:01:56

Oh yay someone else at the same point as me.
Yes I am doing sole source.
I had cappuccino it was not nice, hoping my soup at lunchtime is gonna be nicer.

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern Mon 28-Apr-08 10:04:31

I have 2 stone to lose Noddy.
Have rubbish will power so I am trying the all or nothing approach here totally no food. I figured even if I can get through a week or 2 then I will have at least kick started my weight loss (I am an optomist lol)

I dont think I have a cappucino in my box. I can recommend the butterscotch though. I think it taste better than slim fast because its made with water and not as gloopy.

How long have you been on it noddy and how much have you lost...c'mon spill!!

I have three stone to lose. I'm the same re will power but I feel strangely positive that this is going to be a turning point.

Think I'm going to have oriental chilli for lunch. Cant say I'm overly excited about it but oh well.... grin

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern Mon 28-Apr-08 10:38:55

Yeah I was thinking oriental chilli for lunch too. I don't like butterscotch full stop so never even chose any of those.

I am hoping I can stick at this, I have to lose weight or else my dress aint gonna fit grin

I know loads of people on the cambridge locally one woman had a partiularly large amount to lose and has lost 8 stone.

cant get over that those 20 sachets in that little box is my food for the next week shock

Because I go running most nights I'm allowed to have a tiny piece of chicken or fish with a little bit of salad but only on the nights I go. If I skive off running I dont eat grin

I've had a pint of water and just having a black tea with sweetener. Why tummy is beginning to rumble a tiny bit but I'm really optimistic (so far, easy to say on the first morning!!)

What your councellor like?

It is fab that we're starting on the same day, we can keep each other going lol.

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern Mon 28-Apr-08 11:37:18

Oh my conciller Never said anything about eating when I exercise she told me not to for 2 weeks.
She is nice enough I suppose bit disorganised but a lovely person.

I am going to need all the help I can get lol.

noddyholder Mon 28-Apr-08 11:42:31

4lbs off this week and I am eating normal food for my main meal as I don't do diet stuff very well.Have had the odd yoghurt too

How funny mine is really disorganised as well, her office is stacked up to the ceiling with stuff!! Might be same one shock grin

You'll do fine and so will I grin

I'm now thinking maybe I'll have another sweet one for lunch and save my soup for later.

My SIL lost 2 stone in 6 weeks and looks great and is maintaining really well and she is my inspiration as we are (WERE) about the same size. I cant wait to be a size 12 - if I lose like she did, that will be in around 4 - 5 weeks [thats worth getting excited about!!!]

4lb a week is great - I think I'm probably better the less real food I have otherwise I'll just want more!

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern Mon 28-Apr-08 13:01:02

Yeah it is the less real food that enticed me in because I am fine to go without but as soo as I put food in when I am on a diet I want more.

Just had cheese and broccoli soup - or rather didnt sad it was disgusting so I binned it. Feeling slightly sick now and hoping that all the soups arent like that one bleurgh!!!

I normally go to Costa for a latte and cake on mondays - I still went and was proud of myself when I just had a black tea.

Not looking forward to the long evening stretching ahead without nibbles - might be an early night I think grin

Should add I meet friends in Costa - did not want you to have the vision of me sitting sadly alone hunched over a giant carrot cake slice grin

Today they had cake. I just slathered grin

How did the oriental chilli go down (if it did grin )

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern Mon 28-Apr-08 15:01:07

I had leek and potato was ok but was actually a bit strong.
I ended up binning the cappucino this morning.
Out of the 2 I have had I have noticed that they all have the same undertaste and loaded with yucky fake flavours and it is the background liquid cardboard tastes I don't like.

I think I am going to give it this week see how I go and if I hate moer of the flavous that I like go back the drawing board.

This is going to be hard enough wothout being totally miserable with what I am allowed to put in my mouth.

Why not calorie control regular food?

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern Mon 28-Apr-08 15:18:37

Cause I am useless at that, I have got into really crap eating habits and when I calory control I am doing great then when I eat I feel more hungry for all the wrong things.
I am doing this to try and break all my bad habits by just not doing food.

I actually resisted this diet for so long. I am not particularly pleased with myself for going down this road for various reasons.

Hi, I started this last Tuesday and have my first weigh in tomorrow evening. Have cheated cause I had a roast dinner on Sunday - How rubbish. So not sure how much I am going to have lost.
My concern was what I would have for breakfast cause the cold shakes are all horrid. My counsellor recommended a choc tetra brick in half a cup of hot black coffee. It is delicious and I would not have been able to get through the week without it. Vegetable soup is really nice too. Brocoli is gross though - went without rather than finished this one!!!
I am really interested to see how you all get on so keep posting. I will update on my !loss! tomorrow

I had leek and potato for lunch - pretty grim but much better than the broccoli <bleurghh!!> I quite like the shakes and the choc mint is quite nice when you have it hot. might just stick to the sweet ones as the soups are just not good at all.

Cant wait to found out how much you've lost grumpybum - dont forget to update us!!!

In contrast to you Ineed, I am quite pleased with myself for taking this route because it shows total conviction and control on my part. I have lots of weight to lose and I want to do it quickly. I want to be healthier quicker. I havent got any shame that I'm doing this diet and dont feel that you should feel bad about yourself for doing it either. Yes, its boring, bland and unpleasant but I have to think I have already had the fun part and have three stone of health-threatening fat to show for it.

Now its time to be kind to my body and get it back to the state it should be as soon as I can so I can enjoy life again and so I learn to stop letting life revolve around food. In all honesty I know I am one day in but I know I will stick with sole source until I lose a stone. It is my dd's birthday on Thursday - I wont eat a bite of party food and I honestly am not worried about that. The focus needs to come away from food and turn towards living again.

It will work if we let it work.
