DH says the best bread is rye and he's a bit of a nutrition freak....I also think that if you like the filling thing that bread offers, you should have extra protein. I find that a "heavy" salad is good...red kidney beans, chick peas, good lettuce, peppers, and cucumber and salad onions all drenched in olive oil and balsamic is really nice and filling.

You could add a hard boiled egg too...

It does make you a bit...ahem,...windy....but it works!

Just drink water, herbal teas and fruit juice.
I shall cut down on the bread...don't eat that much pasta anyway but reduce my portion size maybe, and have extra veg instead.

Would spelt brea be better than normal wheat, or maybe rye bread for lunch ...any advise gratefully received.

Why oh why is there not a fat busting pill, it would make life so much easkier.

I don't use a bread maker...I make it from scratch with no milk. It's much nicer.

Your diet sounds quite carb heavy...I wouldn't advise cocopops for lunch...I would also look at what you're drinking and try to keep the pasta and bread down.

I rarely eat meat...use Quorn as it is easy and I like it. My son wouldn't eat a veggie curry so it works as a happy compromise.

I have porridge with honey and some chilli chocolate powder with almond or rice milk for brekkie. Lunch is either cocopops with rice milk or sandwiches for lunch, and chilli, spag bog, curry with coconut milk not cream for tea.
Rarely eat potatoes, but do eat pasta and bread...bought not made as I don't have time as bread makers need milk which I need to avoid.

Glad to know that veggie at least keeps the weight down

I've gone almost vegatarian in the last month...well probably a bit longer and I've lost a stone.

What are you eating day to day? Much processed food?

I am eating porrige or toast int he morning, and maybe a banana. then lunch is a salad with red kidney beans and chick peas...lots and lots of leaf, cucumber and red peppers...olive oil and balasamic.

I add tuna too sometimes.

Dinner is things like baked potato with vegitarian chilli. I do a roast chikcen once a week...no processed foods at all...we make our own bread now...get into that the kneading alone is a workout!

I really need to loose some flab...mostly tummy, hips, and thighs.

I am not allowed to do an exercise for another 2 weeks post an op, but then wan to do some Pilates.

What can i do to help burn off some of the flab...I am lactose intolerant so have hardly any dairy but probably have too much bread.

I can't do the shred because of knee problems...ditto running, and am allergic to a lot of the chemicals in swimming pools.

I work FT - around 60 hrs a week mostly desk based (sadly not great pay though so can't afford a gym, plus I am a lone parent)
