Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, and that Santa brought you everything that you deserved!
By now, I'm guessing that many of us will be rather tired of chocolates and stodgy food. Mince pie anyone?
So. The next low carb Bootcamp will be starting on 7 January. It will run for 10 weeks, which will take us to mid-March. The idea of Bootcamp is that we have an initial strict fortnight, which will see a significant amount of weight loss, followed by a more relaxed 8 weeks.
Overall, if you follow the rules, you can expect to lose anything up to 20lbs in this time period.
So who is in?
If you want to join us, add your name to the list and tell us what your aims/objectives are.
I will start ...

We don't have a spreadsheet set up for next year yet, although I'm hoping that if we're all very nice to WillieWaggler that she might agree to do it for us!

Oh my goodness bootcamp rules are quite hard to read in spreadsheet format from a phone.
Please could I have a link to BCR that is not in spead sheet format?
I'm in but dd is baking and cooking like a maniac these days and none of it is low carb. Feel obliged to at least try what she makes but the flour really gets to me, now I am no longer used to it

Oh yes am definitely in. Feel sluggish and tired.
Sorry Arf - should have thought about that. Here they are, along with the list of allowed veg:
As a reminder, or for those who are new, these are the Bootcamp rules:
1.Eat three, proper meals a day
You must eat breakfast. It doesnt have to be a lot, but you must have something. For the rest of the day, if youre eating enough food and you are in ketosis then you shouldnt be hungry. But if you are hungry, eat something. (Hard boiled eggs make a great snack)
2.Avoid processed food, and focus on pure, natural protein as the basis for your meals meat/fish/eggs.
Things like sausages, ham, bacon, pre-prepared burgers etc should be avoided as much as possible. Avoid foods marketed as low carb, e.g. Atkins Daybreak bars.
3.Maximise your fat intake.
Fry in butter, add butter to vegetables, eat salad with a home-made vinaigrette dressing (not made with balsamic vinegar though), add mayonnaise where you can (just check the carb count on your mayo first). Eat fattier cuts of meat e.g. pork belly, roast chicken with the skin on and/or eat the fat off your lamb chops. Absolutely no low fat/light foods of any kind!
4.Make sure you are eating vegetables and salads with your food this is where your carbs should come from.
But choose only those vegetables that are on the allowed list (see below). You dont have to weigh/count carbs this is one of the great joys of this WOE (way of eating), but if youre new to low carbing it can be helpful to weigh your portions of veg in the early days, just so that you know how many carbs are in the sort of portions that you like to eat
5.Minimal dairy (apart from butter, which is unlimited).
If you are still drinking tea/coffee with milk or cream, try to restrict yourself to max 2 cups per day. You may eat cheese, but only in small amounts.
6.You must drink a minimum of 2 litres of water per day.
The more weight you have to lose, the more water you should drink
7.No alcohol
8.No fruit
9.No nuts/seeds
10.No sugar or artificial sweeteners
And this is the allowed list of veg:
Dont eat any veg unless its on this list, and try and focus on eating those that are under 3g carbs per 100g:

Thats great BIWI. Thank you.
NewStart - I don't know anything about red kale, but here is some stuff about it
Looking at the list of allowed veg carrots popped up twice, once at 2.5 and again at 6? I'm not sure if someone can clear that up.
(Think the list got out of synch..)

I'm in! Starting on 7th January is perfect for me. I've got 2 stone to lose and after carb overdose after Christmas I'm actually really looking forward to getting my energy levels back. Thanks for getting us all together BIWI!

Teeb - it depends if they are old carrots or new carrots
As I have no idea how to tell if carrots are old or new, I always assume the higher carb count.
Ooooh sounds easy and interesting might have to try various of those methods. Although we do typically just steam veg around here. Thanks. Should be a change from the scrambled eggs i have been living off the last week ignores all the other stuff that really is not bootcamp friendly
Thank you Biwi. Hope you are recovering from christmas adventures suitably!
Am in. Have done a previous boot camp under a previous name. Worked brilliantly - until I fell off the wagon completely. This time DH is in too. Only issue will be that I have a birthday fairly early on (will be within first two weeks - eek). But desperately need to lose at least a stone or I will need to buy an entire new wardrobe which I don't want and can't afford.

Ah thanks Biwi, didn't expect to learn something new about carrots today!
Adding myself - ideally need to lose 5 stone to be the 'perfect' weight for my height. But would be happy if I could just manage to shift 2 stone - that would get me back to a point where I have more nice clothes to choose from and I don't feel bad about myself.

Hi I'm in again, want to loose my Xmas blubber and final stone. Can't wait as previous boot camps were fab x
Can I stay with you all please? I'm aiming to lose the Christmas bloat (6 lb at the mo) and stay on the straight and narrow and this woe definitely stops me bingeing on crap. So, I won't be then biggest loser but I'd love to tag along
