I'm a savoury lover, not bothered about sweets and chocolate. My downfall is crisps.
I don't usually buy them tbh unless occasionally for dss. Safer that way grin
But in Morrison's today I found some I thought I'd try as says they're 85 cals and the fat gram per 100g is 9 so good for crisps.
I've had a bag tonight, Sweet chilli flavour cassava crunchers and they're lush! Well I think they are anyway.

Anyone else got a snack they can recommend to buy that isn't too fattening or calorific? I know a lot of lower fat snacks often have higher calories.

Twiglets - eating a bowlful right now. Tubs are half price at the moment grin

Have you tried sugarsnap peas. Truly scrummy.

Oh fantastic we have a poundland and get dissy at Morrisons smile

Has anyone been in the Morrisons stores of the future? They're aiming to copy Waitrose with them and failing grin

FivesGoldNorks Wed 12-Dec-12 19:08:23

No we don't have waitrose sad there's one near where I work and I tend to just wander round in awe

Vajazzler Wed 12-Dec-12 18:51:51

CuriousMama Wed 12-Dec-12 16:40:58

CuriousMama Wed 12-Dec-12 16:39:15

Never heard of them Vajazzler? Are they waitrose? We don't have them round 'ere. wink

FGN how insensitive of the chip man!! You should've pinched one off him.

I also love sushi. Never had the waitrose things but like I said we're not blessed with one sad

FivesGoldNorks Wed 12-Dec-12 16:16:33

The guy opposite me has chip shop chips, smells like they're drenchhed in vinegar envy

FivesGoldNorks Wed 12-Dec-12 16:15:26

Sushi and those waitrose crystal things
I like the walkers baked crisps, I have half a pack with my lunch

Vajazzler Wed 12-Dec-12 16:13:09

fatlazymummy I love oat cakes. Have you ever made them yourself? Plus love cottage cheese and cucumber. In fact tbh I prefer lower fat/cal food generally. Although I do like chips and have made stuffed jacket pots to go with dinner tonight but they're not regular. I adore carbs, could never ever do a low carb diet. I think if I did it would affect my mood?

For breakfast today I had a piece of ds2's homemade bread with a one egg omelette on it, that was cooked in a miniscule amount of oil as dp's just bought some new Tefal pans and you need hardly any oil. It kept me full for ages and I've only had a snack since. Having dinner around 6ish?

I like oat cakes spread with cottage cheese and cucumber . I oatcake == 53 cals.
Low fat houmous also works well.I like it with a little smear of harrisa paste on the top then cucumber slices.
My other snacks are 4 brazil nuts and 1 or 2 clementines.
talkinPeace of course you can snack, as long as they fit within the daily calorie requirements. Some people are grazers. I usually have 2 small snacks, 1 at 11 am, and one arond 4 pm. It hasn't stopped me losing weight at all.

Oh I like fish sticks too.

Miso soup's a good idea as I like clear soup, thanks.

TalkinPeace2 Tue 11-Dec-12 22:07:43

miso soup is good ....

spoonful of miso paste, one stock cube, chopped chives
boiling water and dilute to the right amount

25 calories a bowl ...

GinSoakedMu1berryLush Tue 11-Dec-12 22:05:53

,, i forgot to say that i cut back on the soup cos that's high in salt.

GinSoakedMu1berryLush Tue 11-Dec-12 22:05:07

are they? damn. the other thing i could live on that is low cal is soup. must try and make home made soup that tastes nice

TalkinPeace2 Tue 11-Dec-12 20:47:24

fish sticks are high in salt - be careful

AfterEightMintyy Tue 11-Dec-12 20:45:24

I can't resist a twiglet but only really have them at Christmas.

GinSoakedMu1berryLush Tue 11-Dec-12 20:44:47

fish sticks. four are only 60cals. but i usually have 8 grin

CuriousMama Tue 11-Dec-12 20:43:55

Yes I like chilli. Am making guacamole tomorrow and will make sure it has a kick.

TalkinPeace2 Tue 11-Dec-12 20:42:43

something with chilli so that you restrict your intake

CuriousMama Tue 11-Dec-12 20:40:07

I don't snack much and don't eat huge amounts anyway. Only need to lose a stone now. I just like a carby snack now and again.

TalkinPeace2 Tue 11-Dec-12 20:37:58

stop snacking ....
sadly its the only way
restrict ALL food to 2 or possibly 3 meal times a day
we were not evolved to graze
tummies work better if left alone for several hours between inputs

CuriousMama Tue 11-Dec-12 20:30:00

Any more ideas?

CuriousMama Tue 11-Dec-12 01:00:37

Thanks good idea. I could put chilli on it too.
