Hello again and thanks for all the positive messages! Am hoping they'll keep me going. Can't go running tonight but am hoping to get out tomorrow evening if my dh gets home from work in time, so will update if I manage to do that.

Can anyone recommend an iPhone app that will tell me how far I have gone? I have the couch25k lite app that tells me when to run and walk, but I've no idea on distance, so I need something that will work alongside that.

Have a good day (and run, if you are running) everyone!

I use runkeeper for tracking distance and it's free smile

Go for it WhipsGlitter you can do it!! Maybe aim for 15 mins and see how you go smile

Hello ladies. Havent managed a run for a few weeks life just too busy. Now I've found you all will try again. But have a rotten cold so will stick to walking til my cough goes

melliebobs Wed 18-Jul-12 08:55:01

Run keeper is great for distance. Just make sure your battery is fully charged before you go out!!!!!!

I went to a buggy fit class yday n it was really good! Got week 1 session 2 of c25k today. Not looking forward to it cos I've really hurt my neck cos I've slept a bit funny! sad

Gah managed 25 mins on Monday but flaked tonight. Only 20 in total. Feel a failure and very angry at myself. I hate running today.

rusmum Wed 18-Jul-12 22:13:04

Purple don't feel bad! sad you are out, running!!!!grin well done you!!

20 mins is still a good run Purpleprickles, your next run will be good smile

I did 26 mins tonight, went out on my road route that I haven't been on since it's been light enough in the evening to run in the forest and I ran out of road at 26 mins so will need to make it longer once the nights start drawing in, not quite sure how though.

Hi just dropped in to say hello to those who remember me form Jan. I started with you and tore a calf muscle on about week 3/4 and was off running for 10 weeks. i did actually take up running again and joined a thread which was at an earlier stage.

So my update is...

I ran a Race for Life on Sunday. And ran all the way (very slowly!).

Feeling very smug and am now aiming to improve my speed before doing another 5K.

If I can do it... anyone can do it!

Em3978 Thu 19-Jul-12 16:25:58

woohoo W5r1 completed and i'm not dead! Honestly, I just ran 3 lots of 5 solid minutes and I'm not dead!! (dreading w5r3 though)

Ankle felt better through this one and hip not hurting so far. fingers crossed...

I remember you Kewcumber, well done for getting so far! I'm yet to do a race.

Well done Em3978, you will do w5r3 take it nice and slowly it's not a race.

melliebobs Fri 20-Jul-12 20:50:26

So proud of myself. This was my first week back exercising after dd appearance 4 month ago. With a lot of planning. And one hell of a lot of expressing I've done all 3 sessions of week 1 AND a buggy fit class smile

Well done melliebobs and WipsGlitter!!

Very quiet here at the moment!

I went out today and did 5K in 28m 20, so a few seconds faster than my previous pb but still faster! Ran for 30 mins total but it was a bit warm for it. Working tonight so can't really go later. Hope everyone else is managing to get out and enjoying their running smile

Purpleprickles Sun 22-Jul-12 09:28:36

Whoop whoop I just did my wk7 r1 again and managed 25mins without stopping and this time without my friend running with me. Well done to everyone- especially Mellie. I was still barely getting out to the shops 4 months after ds arrived let alone doing exercise smile

melliebobs Sun 22-Jul-12 11:35:53

Aww thanks guys. Well n truly getting back into it. Just takes a lot of forward planning smile off to the gym thus afternoon Infact for wk2 s1

Wow cinnamon that's a really good time smile at the end of this I'd like my 5k time to b around the 35-40min mark

rusmum Sun 22-Jul-12 13:04:40

Great to see all doing soo well. Completed week 5 on hol on fri, but had to do w5 r 3 again today as struggling to download w6. What a scorcher too!!! grin ☀☀☀☀☀

melliebobs Mon 23-Jul-12 13:03:40

Lost 1kg last weep grin happy

Em3978 Mon 23-Jul-12 13:42:33

done w5r3 though I was almost dead at the end! Sadly I live at the top of a hill, so the first half of my run is downhill, the second half is always uphill. 8 minutes of running uphill was HARD!

Em3978 Mon 23-Jul-12 13:43:20

scrap that, i mean w5r2, not got as far as run 3 yet.... <scared>

bibbetybobbityboo Mon 23-Jul-12 19:52:29

Hello all, i'm rejoining! I got to w3r3 a few weeks ago and haven't managed to get out since for various reasons. Am planning to restart later this evening when its cooled down a bit more. Was thinking of starting on week 2 again. Does that sound sensible?

Well done on running uphill so long Em3978!! And rusmum for going while on holiday smile

I went to running club today and we did some circuit training which was really hard!! I burned 565 calories according to my hrm!!! Will be super speedy on Wednesday when I run grin

Brightonite Mon 23-Jul-12 23:47:13

Did w3r3 this morning and feel I took a step back. Managed two previous runs fine but very puffy on the third, am now dreading week 4 sad
