shock who's nicked my legs and left these achy things as a replacement grin grin

FunnysInLaJardin Sun 01-Jul-12 14:30:42

Hooray, new thread. Did a run yesterday, 4k in 31 mins. My aim is 5k in about 35 mins, so I still need to speed up a bit. It was a good run though and I enjoyed it.

Wolfiefan Sun 01-Jul-12 16:13:52

Couldn't resist intervals. Here's hoping I can run next year!

Thanks, Cinnamon, marking my place.

Friend has signed up to parkrun with her 2 children and dh has just committed to do it too, as has ds!! (although ds is going to walk with his very long legs...)

Hello, marking my place.

nomorecake I have pm ed you back. cinnamon I will pm you my MFP name as I can't work out how to add people...

nomorecake Mon 02-Jul-12 14:26:34

have we got a few MIA?

Didnt fancy running yesterday (nothing new there!!), but made myself go. And it was a really good run. matched my PB and notched up my 3rd run of the week.
i want to start doing some strength training too, maybe a JM dvd, not sure when i can fit it in!

woke up with a stinking cold this morning, and a desire to stuff my face eat the entire contents of the fridge. luckily havent been shopping, so not much in there!
think i will end up going over my calorie goal a bit today, but hopefully not much - as i've stayed away from the dc's biscuit tin!
weigh myself tomorrow...

wolfie well done on the 5k thanks

Went to running group today and did 30ish minutes running, warm up round the field, shuttle runs I think they call them- to first cone and back then second and back etc for 4 mins, 1 mins recovery, 3, 2, 3, 4 with recovery between each. Then 5 mins running in and out of cones and running back to improve strength in both legs as apparently our lead leg is stronger. Then another run around the field, was very wet and pretty cold too!!!!! First run of the week done grin

Yoo hoo! I'm here - just done W2R1 and whilst pretty tired, feel a great sense of achievement. I have to admit, I daren't look at week 3 yet wink - I'll worry about that on Sunday.

Milewalker - an amazing achievement. Wolfie grin Well done you! Nomorecake - I take note of your wise words.

Both DH and DS came out with me today. DH jogged supportively whilst DS (7) lapped me twice and suggested combining it with a game of tig...ummm...I think we're not quite there yet. Still I am moving on and I do feel terribly self righteous. Plus I struggle to justify putting a load of crap in my mouth after such effort so am eating better as a result.

I love this thread smile.

brightonite Mon 02-Jul-12 20:57:53

...oh and please feel free to kick my butt if I'm slacking. I kind of need that input sometimes! grin

littledolly Mon 02-Jul-12 21:14:31

Hello all - this is where you are then! I ran for a full 5K tonight & had a great run!! Tried a new route after having run the same path since I started in March - and it actually involved running on main roads where people could see me -eeekk!! Managed to run the 5K in 35 mins which I was delighted with. Still can't believe I can run grin

LilyPickle Mon 02-Jul-12 23:20:56

Wow, lots of great things happened on here. Congratulations to brightonite for starting (and keeping going) and for milewalker for such an amaing achievement.

I didn't run all last week as I was knackered. Not sure if I was on the verge of getting a virus or something but I knew I just couldn't do it...I barely had enough energy to get out of bed, so today was my first day and I should have been on W4R1. I knew on my very first run it wasn't going to happen, so did an improvised wk 3 run where I ran for 4 lots of 3 minutes with a 2 minute break in between. It absolutely knackered me but I am glad to get back on it really. Probably going to stick at this for a while until I can do it realatively easily before moving up to the 5min run as I am struggling I think.

LilyPickle Mon 02-Jul-12 23:22:04

Oh and littledolly - you star! I haven't ventured out onto roads yet, sticking to my trusty treadmill where no-one can point and laugh grin

milewalker Tue 03-Jul-12 17:52:10

omg i'm an idiot or a glutton for punishment-i've only gone and signed up to do same marathon again next year shock

i'm already really looking foward to it,i need to get out more grin

rusmum Tue 03-Jul-12 18:22:55

Here you are. I am back on week 4 after graduating in march and hardly running since blush back to it ! Lost 33 so far this year. 10 to go

nomorecake Tue 03-Jul-12 20:38:30

ooooo, well done on the weight loss rusmum!

i fancy doing a marathon now. Well, i like the idea of doing it, the reality will be a bit different!

between my cold and the weather, i think running this week is stuffed up. angry

littledolly Tue 03-Jul-12 22:13:58

rusmum well done on your weight loss! Do you mind me asking if you combined running with any specific eating plan? I've not lost a single pound since I started C25K despite trying and having over a stone and a half to loose!

Moln Tue 03-Jul-12 22:23:58

Right I'm joining as I'm starting to slack - should have gone out today but I just couldn't be bothered

I'm just finished up week 6 and did 3k (in 25mins) on sunday.

I was feeling it but now I'm losing it. i also need to get mu diet back in order!

Moln Tue 03-Jul-12 22:25:09

rusmum that' fab - well done!

Well done for gettin back to it after a week off LilyPickle, you'd be surprised what you can do so give wk 4 a try!

Good to see you back rusmum you might improve quicker this time around? Well done on weightloss, is that lbs?

I highly recommend myfitnesspal littlydolly for weightloss!

Welcome Moln! That's not a bad distance at all for week 6 smile

rusmum Wed 04-Jul-12 07:02:07

Yes that's lbs back tonight and bought treadmill do no it's raining xcuses! Debating w 4 or 5 at mo? Prob start at 4 so I will succeed. Hopefully will build up quickly grin

rusmum Wed 04-Jul-12 07:02:57

Little dolly I used mfp so just calorie counting!

Moln Wed 04-Jul-12 11:32:36

I've heard myfitnesspal is brilliant - anyone use it just on their computer? (I don't have an iphone or andriod so can't get the app sadly.

I've just over a stone to loose - I lost about 5lb just with the running!!!

Do you think it's an OK distance cinnamon - I've been following the NHS podcast and it just happened to be what I did in 25 mins.

I've been feeling exhausted in the last week and really don't want to go out - didn't go this morning either (bad) though I will force myself to do as soon as DH comes home - rain or shine

I was doing mid-high 3k's at that stage but that included my walks. Finished early April and only did my first sub 30 min 5k two weeks ago Moln. I use mfp, there are lots of bits you can't do on the app but using it only on your computer is not as convenient and you won't have the barcode scanner I guess but definitely doable!
