hi ladies can i join this thread? i need some more motivation :-)

Tortoise Mon 09-Jan-12 18:13:33

MrsSalvatore you are welcome to join us.smile

MrsSalvatore Mon 09-Jan-12 18:17:46

thank you ladies!!! does everyone do a similar eating plan? or just try and support one another?

Tortoise Mon 09-Jan-12 18:22:56

Generally support each other. Food/recipe ideas are welcome too. I need all the help I can get lol!
Breakfast still seems to be my biggest problem.
Can't have anything with milk on as it makes me feel ill and toast now seems to cause bloating!

MrsSalvatore Mon 09-Jan-12 18:28:33

i've followed slimming world extra easy plan for the last year. My starting weight was 15stones and current weight is 12st 9lb. Im trying something different this week by doing original days on slimming world but avoiding carbs as much as i can as i always feel bloated and sluggish after having them.

Tortoise Mon 09-Jan-12 19:10:02

Great weight loss. I looked at slimming world but no group near me and I.couldn't work out the menus on the website. May have another look.

Furball Mon 09-Jan-12 19:12:36

Yes welcome MrsSalvatore smile

I'm doing SW too. I'm an old hand at it and did manage to lose 2 stone a few years back, but being the lardy lady I am - I've since put it back on.

I'm not going to class, just weighing at home.

But I love the way you can literally eat for England and still lose (I do green days)

MrsSalvatore Mon 09-Jan-12 19:45:51

yeah its fantastic doesnt feel like a diet at all!! ive been at sw off and on since 2001!! lol i also know it inside and out (and know how far i can push the cheating!!). i was reluctant to try extra easy after red and green had been drummed into me for so long but it really does work! weigh in tomorrow im hoping for my 2 1/2 stone award :-)

cardibach Mon 09-Jan-12 19:56:20

Hello all! I'm doing Slimming World as well. I did it 16 years ago after DD was born (well 15 and a half!). I did mainly Red days and lost about 3 stone. I'm liking Extra Easy better - I think it will be easier to maintatin for ever. I have about 6 or 7 stone to lose, but I'm doing it in kilos as they don;t seem like real weight wink. I've been on it for a week and lost 2.6kg. Very pleased.

MrsSalvatore Mon 09-Jan-12 19:58:42

well done cardibach!!

the weeks i love going are the weeks i feel confident that ive definitely lost weight - thats my daily mantra!!

cardibach Mon 09-Jan-12 20:06:05

I'm doing it online, MrsSalvatore. I have started going to a personal trainer though, and she will also weigh me (on Wednesday) and check my waist measurement. It does focus the mind!

MrsSalvatore Mon 09-Jan-12 20:08:58

brilliant!! i have a timeshare with a gym membership but i HATE the gym, have u tried zumba? ive become a complete zumba addict

Tortoise Mon 09-Jan-12 20:21:59

Any tips or food ideas for sw extra easy? smile

MrsSalvatore Mon 09-Jan-12 20:31:59

extra easy is pretty easy -

choose 1 healthy extra a (milk, cheese etc)
choose 1 healthy extra b (cereal, porridge, wholemeal bread)

free unlimited food is lean mean, pasta, potatoes, eggs, fish, vegetables, fruit...

every meal has to contain a 3rd superfree food (green veg, carrots, onions mushrooms tomatoes, most fruits)

then your 10 - 15 syns a day.

it explains it better in sw magazine or online :-)

Furball Tue 10-Jan-12 06:57:55

7 day SW EE plan here tortoise - scroll down a bit

It is very easy. - I do a slight variation of it so I have green days which leans towards a set amount of meat, but unlimited (yes unlimited!) potato, pasta, rice, beans and pulses etc.

It will all sound very complicated at first, but you soon get into it. You could buy the SW mag - that would have another weeks menu in and also give ideas for other things.

The main problem is knowing what syns is what. you are allowed 10-15 a day.

If it was just say a biscuit or small chocolate bar - you could just google.

The number one thing - I believe. Is plan a whole weeks menu and STICK TO IT! smile

Furball Tue 10-Jan-12 17:34:39

tortoise - the daily mirror have free sw booklets in this week

I've been out for lunch today - had pork chop and veg so quite ok

and have left over parsnip soup for tea
