Pro points - angel(great) and devil(shocker)foods? ! Please share ideas..

I have just started propoints and thought we could share good ideas but also shockers that we might assume are ok from the old points but are now quite high..

Please add anything good or bad you've discovered I need all the help I can get!!

My few good discoveries are:
Full tray (240g) tesco value chunky tikka chicken - 7 pp (you'd get at least 3 decent sambos out of it)
2 turkey rashers - 1pp
packet of skips 2pp
wotsits 3pp
mini drifter/kitkat 3pp
veg chow mein from Chinese - 6pp
m&s breaded chicken 5pp

My few bad discoveries are:
hula hoops - 5pp
McCoys crisps - 6pp

dyzzidi - how many servings is that if each one is 6pp

was trying to work out what the wine and beef and colemans were iyswim

I use courgette instead of rice : put in food processor and whizz it until rice sized bits . Blast in microwave to heat but NOT cook - so just 20-30 seconds. Zero Pp . Would prob work with cauliflower too . Sometimes I mix with tablespoon of rice buts it's quite rice- like anyway .

Turkey bacon only 1 Pp for 2 rashers and it's lovely .

Also I love raspberry sugar free jelly mashed and mixed with a ww chocolate dessert - MASSIVE choclatey bowlful for minimum points ( I think choc pud is 2 or 3 Pp )

I put each serving into a silver foil tray with a paper lid if you kow which ones I mean and i got 7/8 servings. I just brown the beef then throw the lot into the slow cooker for the day.

This is a great idea for a thread! Iv been jotting things down for when I go shopping! Does anyone else think it can be a bit expensive to get lots of the free or low points foods/ingredients? We always buy plenty of fresh veg but iv really stocked up with lots of variety and its costly... <poor person emoticon> I'm still gettin my head round the points books but was shocked earlier to see parsnip have points! I knew bout peas and sweetcorn but parsnip? Anyways looking forward to hearing more angel foods to add to my shopping list! Oh and any good recipes would be fab

Just discovered that crunchie bars (full size) are 5pp (not 3 as mistakenly printed in shopping guide) which I think for a 'big' bar is great! I would spend three on a funsize drifter..

On the devil side-- a tesco bake in the oven baguette is 10pp!!!!! Nooooooo!!!

Just to echo what someone else said - the m&s fuller for longer range are fab. They seem to range from 8-12pp which for me is fine for dinner tbh.

I had thE ham, potatos, veg and mustard sauce and it was gorgeous for only 8pp! Also I think it's good that a lot of thir meals come with veg which the ww, tesco etc ones don't.

Yes it's definitely more expensive buying low fat, fresh veg, ready meals etc but I have a lot of weightti lose so for me it's worth it as I'm very determind this time!

dyzzidi have a question about the recipe you have posted, it looks great and I fully intend to do it but I haven't got access to the online tracker so what size packs of steak did you use? Did you brown the meat before you put it in or just chuck it in? With the colemans mix did you mix with any water or just the wine?

So many questions but it sounds lovely and I need to get new meal ideas!

Couple good finds:

half a twirl 3pp
5 bacon medallions low fat sainsburys 3pp

and did I mention thus before? Tesco microwave egg fried ricE is 8pp per bag and my husband and I find one is plenty between us.. Handy for portion control!

My angel foods:

curly wurly - 3pp (and soooo satisfying)

butternut squash chips - 0pp (made with frylight and a sprinkling of schwartz cajun crunchy spice mix for wedges)

options hot chocolate sachets - 0pp

mushrooms! Suddenly loving these now they are 0pp! Saute in frylight, reserve, then use pan to make a 2 egg omelette. When omelette is almost done put loads of the cooked mushrooms on one side and fold the other side over. Serve with bns chips for 4pp for a very satisfying lunch, or add peas and salad with dressing for an extra healthy pp.

Devil foods:

Bread - always infuriates me how many pps have gone once I add a tiny bit of marg and filling. I'd get the smaller slice variety but hubby doesn't like it, so am doing my best to avoid it altogether.

Baked potatoes - aaargh! Had to have lunch in a cafe and chose this instead of a fried breakfast or panini, thinking it was less pp - but it about the same. So annoyed I turned down the opportunity of a tuna melt now!

Alcohol - not only is it extra pps in itself but it mucks up my willpower when I have had a drink, and I eat rubbish when I am hingover too - so I sabotage myself 3 times over

The small tubes of mini eggs are 6ppwhich I know is a lot but it makes you feel like you aren't on a diet and they last for a long time. If you aren't me you could split them over a couple of days.

a tube of refreshers is 3pp and can be spread throughout the day.

was horrified to find out that my favourite baked potato with cheese and beans is 14pp and my favourite pret sandwich is 15pp!! what am i going to eat now when i pop into the city shopping??

subway do some fab sandwichs for 7/10pp or add more for cheese

i normally have the sweet onion chicken teriyaki for 10p or turkey breast/ham for 7 or beef for 7 and veggie 5

Hey everyone,

Just marking my place - I'm a wwpp newbie too. Have about 4.5 - 5 stone to lose

My angel food (at the moment...)is Belvita breakfast biscuits. Four flavours, high-fibre, slow-release, great for brekkie or with a brew.

They're not cheap - I paid £2.29 for a box, but for me they're deffo worth it as I am a biscuit-a-holic.

A box contains six packs of four biscuits and one pack, with fruit for breakfast is only 4 ppts and fills you up till lunch.

Great if you're busy like me!

The Belvita biscuits are not four points a pack, they are eight. Poo.

You can tell I'm new to this... Have still scoffed a pack this morning though!

Hello Ladies....

Just joined program again after many years off & many pounds on so need lots of help & this is fantastic.....

Paid a visit to my local poundland and found all of these WW products with pp on them-
Bagels pack 4 @ 4pp each
Strawberry/ Blackcurrant jam
Lentil & carrot soup @2pp a tin ( 2 tins £1)
Baked beans 4pp a tin (2 tins £1)
wraps @ 4pp each
2 chocolate mousses @ 3pp each
sweet and sour / tikka jar sauce @4pp a jar
mini cheese biscuits (like mini cheddars) 2pp a bag = 6 in pack
Cheese / Chilli nachos 6 pack @ 2pp a pack
cheese / tomato & basil puffs @2pp a pack
various cheese crackers @2pp an ind pack
stem ginger cookies / choc chip cookies 6 in a box 2pp pack 2
6 hot choc sachetts @ 1pp each

Hope this helps save the pennies ??

My angel foods are:
Meringue nests 1pp each
WW bars that you get in class- the rich toffee one tastes just like a drifter and the chocolate caramel one tastes like a marsbar. 2pp each
Wafer thin ham 3 slices for 1pp
'Light' mayo 1tablespoon 1pp. I use it instead of spread and have been so anal about it that i put the slice of bread on my scales and weight 7g onto the first slice and then 8g onto the second slice blush
King prawns- the 180g pack they sell in tesco is 4pp i put half a pack in a salad for lunch and the other half gets added to stirfry.

Devil foods!:
Pasta! Slimming world convinced me this was a healthy option but the pp value and calorie content is sky high!
Beans! Again, slimming world told me i could eat loads of these for free but one tin for 8pp is not worth it!
