Not sure if it is the right place to place it here.
In 1932-1933 my country suffered a huge himanitarian tragedy. It was artificially made by the Siviet regime. It is know as a
Great Hunger or Holodomor

look here http://www.holodomor.org
This Saturday at 14:00 UK time please lit a candle in your window to memory of millions victims of this tragedy. Hold a minute of silence for all who died in those years.
It is a huge tragedy for our nation.

This was a terrible, evil crime and I agree with you that not many people in this country know about it.

Stalin was truly the most evil, despicable creature.

I had to research this period when I was writing my last book and I was just stunned at how a deliberate famine could be engineered. Truly dreadful.

<y heart is shrinking with sadness and horror when I am watching programms about Graet Famine in my country.
The actual facts became available few years ago and they are horrific. How many families, villages just vanished. The horror is how people were waiting for the death. Al the stories are so difficult to hear and to accept. How it can be when one man totally destoys the whole nation???

But what makes me really angry is that despite the facts, lots of people don't accept the whole thing about the Great Famine??
my grandma was living in Russia in those years, on the border and she told me that they had military guards between two respublics and how Ukrainians were not allowed to go the neighbour russion village to get some food.

I just pray for all the lost souls in this one of the biggest humanitarion catastrophe.
And hope that the world will never forget what evil can bring all the total regimes!

Lets stop any Genocide in this world and live in peace!

I know absolutely nothing about this so will read your link later.

My aunt's husband was of Jewish Ukranian descent so it will be of particular interest.
