Bereavement

Not sure what's happening...

Had 3 positive early pregnancy tests last week and have just started bleeding today and had crampy pains.

Bleeding has been just like period and when I think back last month was really heavy with clots so I am now wondering if I actually miscarried last month and the positive tests were just from that (lines were quite faint but also did digital one which said pregnant)

How long does hcg stay after miscarriage?

Should I go to docs tomorrow?

You wouldn't get positive pregnancy tests a month after a pregnancy, not unless you were retaining some products of the miscarriage (in which case you'd get quite ill).

When was your period due?

You do still get positive pregnancy tests for a week or two after a miscarriage (well, a latish one, anyway), though.

You might want to have a chat with your GP, anyway.

I think period was/is due about now I am useless at remembering stuff like that, I do know I have long cycles though.

I haven't been ill which rules out last month.

Will the doctor be able to tell if I have miscarried?

I probably sound completely stupid and naive but you just never expect this to happen and I don't really know who to ask.

Well, the doctor can give you a blood test, I guess. But I think the urine tests are as accurate.

More relevantly, the doctor can get you a scan to see if there's anything there, but for a mc this early, there won't be anything anyway, probably.

I'd be inclined to keep track of period dates more firmly in future, and avoid early pregnancy tests, tbh. Are you ttc?

I'd probably be about 5-6 weeks, would there not be anything there?

We had just started ttc got dd already and this just happened straight away without even thinking about uit.

I knew it was too good to be true.

Could only make note of periods after stopped taking the pill. I never bled at all on that. Hence my info being so sketchy!

At that point, with a successful pregnancy, they might see a sac, if that. (And they'd have to do an internal scan, too, which is unpleasant really.)

Realistically, without the early pg test, you wouldn't have known you were pregnant. (If your cycles are normally 6 weeks, say, and it's been 6 weeks since your period, you'd only be 4 weeks pregnant, by the way - two weeks since conception.)
