Bereavement

I think I'm about to m/c

I am only 5.5 weeks pregnant but feel like I'm about to m/c.
I've been through it before very recently and I'm having the exact same symptons;
No more pregnancy symptons at all, even though I was feeling queasy up til Mon and am having mild period-like cramps. No bleeding yet.
I just feel really down. Apart from dh and sister, I've told no one else about pregnancy and neither are around to chat to.
Just needed to tell someone

Sorry to hear this. I would suggest ringing your EPU or going to A&E and you might be able to get an early scan to see what is happening...

Thanks everyone.
I don't really see the point in an early scan. Its not going to stop it, is it?
The cramping is getting stronger so I'm pretty sure now.
These things happen. I just have to get on with it, I guess.
Its sad but not the end of the world, hey?
Thanks again.

sorry you're going through this potty. Are you sure you're not just worrying ? (I say this as someone who had a m/c last yr, and know when I eventually manage to get pg again I will be paranoid until the baby is born..)

Thinking of you.

I really, really wish I am being paranoid but up til Sunday I felt sooo pregnant - nausea, hungry, bloated, sore boobs, weeing and I haven't had any of those symptoms since Sunday and today instead I've just been having period pains all day and have been really moody like I've got pmt.
I've posted on the pregnancy board too as I am really hoping its just paranoia but something tells me it isn't.
I know some of you have been through this and know what its like.
Sorry to all of you who have.
Its just good to be able to 'talk' so thanks for 'listening'

I know exactly what you mean about 'it is going to happen anyway' - but knowing can make a big difference one way or the other. I miscarried at six weeks last week and even though I went through loads of bleeding etc etc, having the scan just convinced me. I wish I could have had it earlier because the worst part of the week wasn't the pain, it was the not knowing.

I really hope you are wrong, but masses of hugs and sympathy for you.

HI Potty
How are you going?

Don't want to sound to optomistic if you are sure, but mild period cramps can be normal. I also had severe indigestion pains early on, but mylanta cured them.

Also i never had any pain with 3x m/c, just bleeding. So i'm not sure pains are a definate sign.

I've had no bleeding at all and the pains have gone away.
I think I may have been overly-anxious and paranoid! Fingers crossed.
Its weird because when I had my m/c, I had those pains and the loss of symptoms and remember thinking that it was normal and not to worry about it but it turned out to be bad news.
Thats why this time I was convinced it was going to be bad news again but so far so good.
Thats the thing with pregnancy. As there's no such thing as a text book pregnancy, you never know when you're meant to worry and when you're not. The same symptons can mean totally different things.
What we women have to contend with!
Thanks for your support everyone. I'm hoping I won't have to post on this board again for myself!

Pottypot I was exactly the same as you. I took to sofa rest for two (different) days and refused to lift a finger. I was convinced I was m'c and that I had to rest. In the back of my mind I knew I had all the same symptoms with DS, but having m/c it dosen't stop you worrying. I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy and feel able to try and relax a bit (I know its nigh on impossible but do try!).

Hi potttypotpot, I've spoke to you on the pg thread you started. At first I was sorry to see you posted here, but then read your last post and still hope things are going well for you. I wonder if what you felt was an implantation pain? I had this with all my pregnancies, a sharp, stitch-like, pain in my lower right abdomen. This pain comes and goes throughout the day and lasts several weeks (~4-7wks in) I have also had brown spotting with all of them which apparently is due to a small cyst forming when implantation happens. Also, as mentioned I have found my symptoms come and go and some days I swear I'm not pregnant and just feel 'normal', but they do come back.

Anyway, just wanted to post to let you know I've been thinking of you and hope all is well your end. //hugs
