My elderly neighbour has died. We were fairly close as neighbours and have known each other for over 10yrs. I have spoken to her husband a couple of times over the last few days but hes understand busy with family and arrangements. I have a card and flowers to give but do I knock and possibly intrude when they need family time or leave it on his doorstep which feels a bit cowardly?

I would knock and hand over the flowers and say that you are only next door if they need anything/want to chat. They may ask you in so you can take their lead.

After the funeral, when much has died down is good time to pop around again. With soup.
