Bereavement

Sudden death of my DH

echt · 05/07/2016 09:49

Seven days ago my lovely, funny, devoted DH had a stroke and died two days later. I'm up my eyes in funeral arrangements as one might expect, and today is a sort of respite as more is in train.

I had always secretly thought that I would be alone in this country one day that he would go before me, but not so soon. He was only 61.

Sad

I'm so sorry. It must be so hard. I think sudden deaths are especially difficult, as you have no warning. I hope you have plenty of real life support?

I'm so sorry for your loss, I can't begin to imagine how you're feeling right now. Do you have any family or close friends that can help you sort things? Flowers

Thank you all.

Apart from DD, all family is in the UK. Friends are rallying round, indeed one flew in for the UK to stay and help. It was beyond good to have someone in the house to sound off to and be supported by. This friend loved my DH like a brother. They've had to go back now, and will miss the funeral they so helped to arrange.

I'm a little isolated in myself as school is on holiday, and no way of getting in touch with colleagues.

Oh, Echt. I'm so sorry to here this. My dad died unexpectedly - although, obviously, he was much older - so I know how it can leave you poleaxed. Whenever you've spoken about your garden and your plant buying escapades, your husband has sounded like a lovely man. What was his name?

Is your daughter with you now? Do you have friends nearby?

I'm holding your hand from afar.
