Bereavement

Stephen was my twin and he died 50 years ago. Yesterday I went to his grave for the first time in 10 years. It was a long trip but I'm glad I went because it did give me a sense of closure. I told him, as in out loud, that I would not be coming back again but that one day perhaps we would meet up along with our parents.

The strange and slightly spooky part of the day was walking away from Stephen's grave back to my car knowing that I wouldn't ever make the trip again but then hearing children's laughter as they played in the school playground opposite the church. It was just as if Stephen was saying goodbye!

Oh that gave me goosebumps as I read that. How lovely that you heard the children playing. I truly believe that's what it was, your brother saying goodbye. It's lovely that you made the trip to his grave. I'm so sorry you have spent so much of your life without him. Sad

He will know you have been and I imagine, very grateful.

I could see the children playing of course so I knew it wasn't ghosts but it did feel very strange!
