Bereavement

Feeling nervous about today

schneebly · 21/08/2006 07:39

I am going in to the PG unit today so they can take blood tests to confirm that I am miscarrying and I feel really nervous despite being resolved to the fact that I have lost my baby . Why do I feel so jittery? I dont really expect anyone to be able to answer for me I just needed to get it out.

You'll feel all sorts of this I'm sure.

Thinking of you.

I just don't know why I feel so nervous - sad I can understand but I feel so on edge. I was trying to take my mind off it but it doesn't work for long. I wont even get an answer today anyway as they have to send the blood away.

Thanks guys. I think I am okay - I was really upset on Friday and Saturday but now feeling resloved but I think that is why I am so shocked about feeling so nervous. I didn't sleep well last night and was up very early and I am not going to town until luch time (not many buses and don't fancy sharing one with the schoolkids who go back today) I just need to pass the time.

good luck schneebly - I think its quite normal to feel nervous

As I said on the other thread 'this' time was the worst for me - the not knowing whilst you're feeling ill. Hope the results come quickly.

Schneebly can't they scan you today to see what's going on? Why just take blood? I don't unbderstand.

It is a strange thing to go through, very strange, you will feel all sorts of emotions. Just take care.

Hope you get a definite answer today, Schneebly. All the best.

They might scan me feelingguilty but I live in a very small place with totally outdated equipment and no actual 'proper' sonographer so they didn't think it would be conclusive enough - they are going to check if the hormone levels are dropping to make sure.

Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes.

hi schneebly been thinking about you all day how did your hospital visit go, did you manage to have a scan to?

Report
schneebly · 21/08/2006 20:54

Thanks janbo - it was okay. I just had blood taken 0 the midwife says as it is early in pg and equipment is old there wouldn't be much point scanning at this point. I will have more blood taken on wednesady and a definitive answer on Friday. Thank you for thinking of me.

so sorry you have to wait until friday do you think it would have been a little better for you if you were allowed to travel to a hospital a little further afield in order to get a answer much sooner?

Report
schneebly · 21/08/2006 21:02

I would have to travel 140 miles! I really live in the sticks! It is horrible waiting but I feel I already 'know' the answer and it is not a happy one.

I've been thinking about you too Schneebly. Sorry to hear the bleeding is continuing. I'm sure it's absolutely normal to feel the way you do. Get dh to give you a whopping great bear hug and then go and eat some chocolate...medicine for all nervous situations. Big hugs to you.
