There's nothing they can do for him . They're talking months not years. And I don't know what to do.

I want to drink myself stupid but I have 12mo ds2 here.

I want to go and stay with mum and dad but I'll have all 3 kids tomorrow and can't face telling them yet.

I want to go back in time and not have them turn up unexpectedly on my doorstep today.

This isn't fair! He's only 52. This isn't supposed to happen now.

IsThatTrue Sat 28-Dec-13 19:25:07

Thanks ohone could you link me to the parkrun thread please I've lost you all. And I'm going to need to run soon.

It's just so unfair. And he's being all practical and I just want it to be some elaborate horrible joke!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree Sat 28-Dec-13 19:26:54

We have missed you IsThat. I was just wondering about you the other day.

IsThatTrue Sat 28-Dec-13 19:27:38

I'm sorry to hear that arctic from what I gather online he's stage D and treatment will be to keep him comfortable. He had cirrhosis of the liver already and has a massive build up of fluid in his abdomen. But has lost loads of weight everywhere else. He has a CT scan on Monday.

I've been massively busy with Xmas and the new house. That's what I was doing today, stripping bloody wallpaper when they turned up. It's not how today was supposed to go.

That was a very similar situation to my Dad too. He too had cirrohosis diagnosed 13 years before.

He had done everything he could to keep himself healthy but sadly the damage was already done. I never really got to the bottom of why he was never offered a liver transplant.

Take care I hope the next few months are as peaceful as they can be for you and your family.
