Thanks. We will send an oak tree and maybe an oak suncatcher for time of year. So sorry for all your and your friends losses. Too random and cruel x

My dear friend went through a similar dreadful loss. I dedicated a tree through the woodland trust (and wrote a letter too, obviously). You can choose which woods, though there's nothing attached to a particular tree, you just know that one of the trees has been dedicated (and will not be dedicated to anyone else)

we lost our first at 22 weeks, we got given a rose for the garden which was lovely. any cards or kind words or flowers were really helpful, makes you feel like everyone gets how horrendous a thing it is and that they are feeling it alongside you.

When this happened to friends of ours earlier this year someone gave them a small potted tree. They keep it in the back garden, and being potted means that it can go with them if they ever move.

They genuinely seem to love the tree and when we were outside during the summer it gave us an easy way to begin talking about the daughter they lost.

So sorry for your SIL.

agree, a handwritten card.
I kept all the ones we were given.

and nothing red, the association with blood is too close.

sorry to hear.thanks

I didn't like receiving flowers. When they died too, if was as if I was incapable of keeping anything alive sad

The most precious thing I received was a beautiful, heartfelt, hand written card.

We lost our first at 17 weeks, so a little earlier but still a massive shock.

I think flowers are nice. This is what I sent when a friend lost hers at about the same time.

Such sad news xxx

I am just heartbroken for her. It is her third. I am pregnant with my third and there would have been the exact same age gap between our second and third. There is nine weeks between our two ds2s. Her other sil is also pregnant. It's just unspeakably awful.

We don't live in the same country so I can't offer much in the way of practical help but I want to do something to let her know how much we are thinking of her. It is so unfair.
