Bereavement

Losing one of your team.

Its been a bit of a shit day today. One of our team at work died suddenly over the weekend. They were young and seemingly healthy. They were a bit off colour last week with a bad cold and had a couple of days off ill, but nothing else and no obvious reason at all why it happened. Just went to sleep and didn't wake up again.

No one is really doing any work. Everyone is upset. Some are very upset as they were close friends outside of work as well. I really feel for them. God knows how their poor family are doing today. Just thinking about what they've lost is enough to get you all upset again.

Nothing more to say really, just wanted to get it down somewhere to say life is crap sometimes.

Aww. Really sorry to hear that.
Might it help to start a tribute for the funeral? Closing helps, I'm told. DH had to break the news one if his number was killed overseas (sightseeing plane crashed) and it was pretty tough for a while. It sounds like you were a pretty close team. Sympathy (( ))

I'm sorry to hear this. I just found out today someone I worked with a couple of years ago passed away last week. It was such a shock and I feel so upset.
Maybe a collection for his partner/family would be a nice thing to do or maybe drinks on Fri after work to celebrate his life? Might be good to mark his passing and remember him.

We're going to do card and a collection and see if their mum and dad want it to go to a charity or flowers for the funeral. Going for a drink to celebrate their life may well be a good idea, but perhaps not this week. Maybe after the funeral.

This has set me off again. When we got the news this morning it was like we were waiting for the punchline, but there wasn't one.

It is a close team with a bunch of people who've worked very hard and gone through a heck of a lot together - we've had a lot of upheaval over the last few years. Its going to be a real loss not to have them here any more.

I'm so sorry
I cannot even begin to imagine how awful that must be.
I too work with an extremely close team....it's like family.
You must all be devastated
Take care x
