Possible missed m/c

Hello,
Im not really sure why im starting a thread on here but at the moment im in limbo land.
My lmp was 14th October which technically makes me 7+2 today, however I started having a brown discharge with slight bleeding 2 weeks a go. I was booked in to the EPU last Monday for a scan. They said that it was too small to find a heartbeat and that possibly my dates are wrong.
I think they may be as I know I ovulated on 5th Nov which would make me 6+1 today. At the time of the scan I may have only been 5+3. Theyve taken bloods and im waiting for the results and have to go back next Monday for another scan.
I have no pregnancy symptoms at all so I think ive already made my mind up that it wont be good news. Im just fed up that I have to wait another week before I find out for good.

I'm no expert but would have thought you would have had more than light bleeding if you have m/c even at an early stage. The bloods will tell you if hormone levels are increasing ie if things are still progressing so hopefully those results will come back soon. I think 5 or 6 weeks is very early to see anything on a scan.
Hope all is OK

Brownish discharge can be a sign of missed miscarriage (this happened to me miscarriage was detected at scan at 10 weeks) however as my midwife explained it is apparently quite common in early pregnancy to have some brownish discharge and is not necessarily something to worry about. As you say it is v early to see anyhting on a scan, did you have an internal scan? and with your dates it would have been even ealrier so it may be OK, the waiting is v hard though isn't it?

I think if you are 7+2 weeks going by your LMP, or even 6 weeks you should be able to see something on a scan. I had an early scan at 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat.
Have you had the results of your blood test yet?

Please don't panic at this stage. I had brownish d'charge at 7 weeks and it was absolutely nothing. It happens to a lot of people. I was told as it was brownish, it meant it was old blood coming away. Stay cool!

Well the bloods showed that my levels had increased from 32000 to 64000.
Not sure if this means everything is ok

It sounds hopeful as I think they should be doubling if all is OK - did they not tell you ? Fingers crossed for you anyway

kbaby - results sound very positive. It is very common to have brown discharge at around 7 weeks or so, even earlier, many people have implantation bleeds which can go on for a while, or it could be blood form you not the baby. I have experienced it myself. I have also miscarried twice so know all the signs and worries you're feeling.
I had a scan at 7 wks and they could see my babys heartbeat and should be able to see the baby at 6 wks. You need a scan. Demand one if necessary and tell them you KNOW you will see something even at this early stage. Often the doctor thinsk he's right and if you call your local Early pregnancy unit at hospital they will tell you that the doctor is wrong and they would see you. I hope you have lots of good news soon.

kbaby, my thoughts are with you this weekend, and I hope Monday brings good news. If it doesn't, then this place is the right place to be. I had wonderful support when I had my m/c in September and I'm sure you'll get that too if the worst has happened.
