when we are at home he is quite happy to run around naked and even if someone comes to the door he has no qualms about coming to se who it is, i have to shoo him away and tell him to cover up. he has no problem with clothes, he will get dressed in the morning and for school/going out to play/leaving the house etc but at home he disrobes. is this normal?

Yes. grin

especially in warm weather.

Completely normal. My 4 yr old DS is exactly the same- in fact a more extreme version I fear- until recently he would undress in public

yes, stop worrying. you are the one with the problem, not him wink

Completely normal smile my 6yo and 3yo would always be naked given a choice.

Totally normal, both my DCs love being naked, DS particularly likes being naked as it gives him easy access to fiddle with his bits grin .

And dh would be naked too if he could!

I am a big naked fan. Clothes get in the way and are irritating. However I try to confine this to the top landing where things are reasonably private. The kids are resigned to this eccentricity of mine.

Are you big and naked or a fan of big naked people? grin

Have you seen that Sex and the City episode where the one who converts to Judaism has to tell her husband not to sit naked on her new white couch? (You can tell I don't watch it very often ...!) I relate to him as a fellow naked fan.

BoffinMum Tue 06-Jul-10 11:13:28

Hehehe
I am normal and only put clothes on when I have to for social reasons.

I find the nudism movement a bit creepy though, so would not dream of cavorting with other naked people I didn't know.

BoffinMum Tue 06-Jul-10 11:14:16

All that flapping about while you are trying to play table tennis. It's so ... English.

My 3yo DS is the same. Not a shred of modesty. My sweet elderly neighbour came to the door yesterday with a parcel she'd taken in while we were out and was treated to the sight of him bursting out of the room where I'd tried to leave him and sprinting down the hall shouting 'Does she want to see my belly??!' He doesn't undress in public though, thank goodness.

i dont have a problem with it, i only shoo him from the door as i am sure other people are uncomfortable seeing a child they dont know, naked. i wasn't allowed to be naked(nor can i remember an inclination to be) at home unless getting changed or in the bath so i wasn't sure how normal this is.

i am quite happ for him to be naked as long as he is comfortable-which he most definitely is. <peers round at naked boy fiddling with his bits> grin

my ds likes being naked too!!!

DD 9.2 adores it. I'm happy and so is she,

Lotkinsgonecurly Tue 06-Jul-10 17:27:55

I'm all in favour, it really cuts down on washing grin

ds (3 1/2) has spent huge chunks of the past two days totally naked. I go to the fridge to get myself juice for dinner and by the time I am sat down he is bare arsed chomping his dinner grin

both kids love running about naked and I think what the hell enjoy it while you can.

mamalovesmojitos Tue 06-Jul-10 22:31:15

so normal! dd (6) loves being naked and often takes off all her clothes when she gets home. only when its just us here.

i suppose its the way they are born - the most comfortable they are.

i also think great! enjoy it while she can. the innocence and freedom doesn't last long. there's no way i'd walk around naked <shudder> - not pretty grin

Ds1 (3 and a half) would wear nothing but but wellies given the chance. It gives him a certain style I suppose grin.

Ds2 (7 months) really shouts when you try and get him dressed.

Given the way the weather has been, why fight it?!

You can tell the time in this house by how many clothes the DCs (DD 4, DS 2.4) have on. They are naked from waking til I catch them just before we have to leave for nursery, then when we get home DD's pants come off as soon as she goes to the toilet. By 2pm both of them are usually butt-naked and carefree. Tbh I only notice it anymore when the doorbell goes and I wonder at what age it's appropriate for DD to be nude in public until.

electra Wed 07-Jul-10 19:38:08

dd2 has never been partial to clothes - nothing to worry about, honestly.

BoffinMum Thu 08-Jul-10 16:42:44

Actually, one of my earliest memories is running around with no pants on, wild and free. Very 1970s. Where did it all go wrong?

AandO Thu 08-Jul-10 19:40:37

Since the weather has got warmer ds (3.5) is naked all the time we are in the house. He loves it!
