I ve come back here, as i dont know who else could give me as good advice as i used to get

my dd(2 years 2 months)..seems to have recently become very scared of loud noises even when the noise is not near her?..specifically aeroplanes, next doors pick up truck going past???

she used to fall asleep when the hoover was on as a baby, but since she's been about 1yr, she gets unconsolable when i put the hoover on..tried talking to her, re assuring her, making a game out of it, cuddling her, even hoovering whilst carrying her!, but it makes no difference and is upsetting me too.

she has had a bowt of ear infections recently, but alls fine now, so it cant be that...

does anyone have any ideas.

id really appreciate it

maybe you could take her to doctors to have her ears looked at again, maybe she has another ear infection

My daughter is 2.2 as well and i think its an age thing she has become scared of our hoover, people's lawnmowers etc but doesnt seem to be bothered by other noises such as aeroplanes (which she quite likes) She also panics about alarms. I wouldnt worry im assuming they'll grow out of it. HTH

I remember as a child, my ears could be tender for months after an ear infection cleared up... it could just take a while to get over properly. Or, she could be scared that it might hurt again.
