8 month old shouts A LOT!

This might sound strange, I know babies squeal and shout a fair bit but I just wondered if ds is the only one who does this very loudly and angrily.

He is VERY loud and he seems to shout a lot, like he's extremely angry, he goes red in the face and tenses up whist he shouts out really loudly. He looks really aggressive and screws up his face. Then he relaxes and goes back to whatever he was doing.

Is that normal??! It's not just high pitched squealing like other babies! I can't work out whether he just likes the sound it makes or whether he doesn't actually realise he's doing it!

My friends all laugh when he does it as there babies don't get quite so angry or over excited or whatever it is! Anyway, if anyone else has experienced it, let me know!

My 5mo shouts alot too. My MIL says its because she doesn't know how to control the volume yet. She gets quite angry and likes to let everyone know about it, in fact noone else can be heard over her anyway. Yesterday she learnt how to blow raspberries and this is great as it means less shouting. No advice, just to say you're not alone

Forgot to say, even her normal babbling is at full volume. I get comments like 'yes we all know you're here', it makes me feel sad because it seems like they're suggesting that she is rude, but she is only 5mo!

It's normal. He is experimenting with the way he can make his voice sound.

He doesn't know yet that being loud isn't always a good thing! He likes it, it's a new trick and he will do it all the time until he finds another new trick to replace it with.

Your friends are due for a shock when their babies start doing it!

I have had one of each. DD1 was very quite she didn't make any noises or talk until she was nearly 2.

Now dd2 (7.5mths) has talked made noises very loud since day one.

Oh don't get me wrong WigWam, my friend's babies to shout but not with the intensity and seemingly agressive manner that my ds does!

I think he is just very loud and intense altogether though! He has been shouting since he was about a month old and now shouts MAMAMAMA MAMA MA MAMAMA all the time at the top of his voice! Sometimes it's not just mama, it's almost just like a lion's roar! It certainly gets him attention though, but not always in a good way. A couple of elderly ladies were sat behind us on a bus this week and ds was shreaking and shouting (not crying but just getting frustrated!) and I heard the women say 'ooo good grief, fancy putting up with that!' I was really angry actually cos it's not like you can stop an 8 month old from doing it.
