My 18 mo DS has no problem going to sleep, in fact he asks for his bottle of milk and takes himself upstairs, the problem i have is keeping him asleep. For the last 4 weeks he has woken everynite between 0130 and 0230 and screams the place down until i go into him. He quietens down until i leave the room again. Last nite i was so tired i felt like i was in control of myself and that really scared me. Anyone got any ideas of what i can do.

That is the worst time to be sat awake, isn't it?

my dd has been waking for 1-3 hours in the middle of the night. Nothing wrong as far as I could tell so came to the conclusion she just didn't need that much sleep.

If you can rule out teething, etc etc the usuals, try just putting him to bed a bit later and/or cutting naps shorter. Worked for us the last few nights (fingers crossed it continues!). dd seems to only need 11 hours sleep TOTAL, including naps - gah!

what time do you put DD to bed then, and do you physically wake her from her naps? Does she have one morning and afternoon. My DS has one long one in the morning. Its driving me made as DS1 was an angel in comparison.

Hi, she sleeps roughly 7.30-6 at the moment, and has one nap in the middle of the day. At home she'll only have one 30 min nap and wake up on her own. At nursery she would sleep longer but I ask them to wake her up. She is 17 mo but has never slept much in the day.

Hope your ds sleeps better tonight

I wish he had too, went to bed at 8 ish, woke at 1030, then 0130, 0230, had to put him in bed with me in the end as he just kept on screaming, fell asleep within 2 mins of being in my bed, just kept me awake snoring instead.:0
