Hi all, 1st: quick thanq for the reassurance an hour of perusing mumsnet discussions has brought, I feel better than I have since Friday when my 3.8yo DS' preschool teacher asked if they could call in the local Behavioural Psychologist to assess his agressive behaviour
I have been concerned about his 'bullishness' myself and think I do all the suggested techniques to deal with it and tbh, the teachers couldn't suggest any alternatives but when they told me he had had to have 3 time-outs for hitting other boys on Friday and that this was by no means unusual, I agreed with their suggestion to get the Behavioural Team from our Health Visitors Clinic involved. However I'm a little reluctant because I'm not sure whether making a 'problem' official is a good idea? I don't think it's the same as Social Services and I certainly don't want to offend anyone involved with/from SS here, I think they do a very good job in often difficult situations, but you do hear of instances where official involvement gets out of control and I wonder if it would be best to just stay off the radar iyswim, and keep working on his behaviour myself... although it does seem like I'm not doing such a great job
So TCALSS has anyone had any experience of involvement with their local Behaviour Team? I really look forward to hearing from anyone, they're due to call me to arrange a visit this week! Thanks all.
