You know the baby development emails you get from MN HQ?? 3 brick test @ 9 mths.

This was in the 'What to expect at 9 mths' email I recently received.

"What he thinks: If you fancy yourself as a psychologist you can experiment on your baby by trying the three brick test. This is where you confuse your baby by sitting him down and handing him two bricks so that he holds one in each hand. If you hold out another brick to him (aim for the middle) he may stare at it with bewilderment, (this does not measure intelligence, okay?) look from hand to hand, look at the new brick and then back to the bricks he holds but not try to take the third brick. Or he may drop one brick and take the third. Or he may try to cradle all three bricks between chest and hands. Whatever he does he is a clever little thing because he is doing some adaptive development. The ability to reach out and take a brick is instinctive but here your baby at the tender age of nine months is beginning an intellectual process of working out what to do with that stupid third brick."

So I tried it with DS. What did he do with the 3rd brick? Leaned forward and picked it up with his mouth, then laughed at me.
Thats ma boy!

LOL

Boy would have tucked one or both bricks under his knee to keep it safe then grabed the 3rd and put that under his knee as well.

What fun! I missed that. I'll try it tomorrow with a 4-yr-old and a 22-month-old.

I tried again - this time he threw the other bricks across the room.

ds won't hold them, he puts them into the matching square in his farm house
