My DD (7 months) does an occasional shudder which I was concerned about thinking she had a nervous twitch until I spoke to other mums whose babies did this too. I am still thinking about asking the GP about it (not the HV).

Perhaps you could see your GP? Is your lo sitting up yet?

Our ds2 is 9 months old and his head is still sometimes a little wobbly and has a dreadful habit of throwing his head back alot which isn't too good when someone else is holding him and they get in the chin.He is also a rather large baby too but I've put off buying the next stage car seat, due to his wobbly head, even though it's killing my back lugging him about in his infant carrier.
I honestly wouldn't worry about it at all, unless your lo can't hold their head up to any extent.

when you mean wobbly do you mean flop from side to side or just moves a lot?

thanks for posts

"shudder" is the perfect way to describe it

not floppy - as in huge sideways movements - but just small movements on head axis a bit like a mini tremor.... happens almost as if trying to straighten/align it perfectly straight!!

sometimes looks like it originates from back as well..up the spine to neck ending in head..if that makes sense

I wouldn't worry about not being able to sit yet.Ds1 was about 9 months before he sat unaided and ds2 can sit but I certainly wouldn't leave him on his own for a second,as he doesn't sit for very long.

not worried about the sitting at all - but worried about the head shuddering/wobbling/trembling still at 6 months

If you are worried then talk to you gp about it (or HV, if you are comfortable with her - I have an excellent HV and can call her anytime). It might be perfectly normal, but my two were not 'wobbling' anymore by 6mo. Although my youngest probably stopped wobling at around 5 months old, and when I started weaning him I had to start off feeding him in his bouncy chair instead of a high chair because his neck wasn't strong enough I felt.
