How do you get a baby to sleep? Time for solids? Or is it teeth? Going INSANE here...

Okay, so I agree with most of you about controlled crying in babies under six months - it's too stressful for everyone, and it doesn't create good sleep habits for the future... But... how do you get a 15 week old baby to fall asleep and stay asleep?!?!

My dd is driving me insane. She falls asleep after a b-feed (talking night not day) but wakes up the instant she lands in the cot and screams. We have managed to put her to bed 'sleepy but awake' a couple of times and she drfited off beautifully. Then, just when we think we've got it, we have a 1.30 to 4.30am stint of awake and screaming!

She had colic, now is teething - but this means she has never had the chance to find a pattern. She's big (15 1/2 lbs), but only going 3 hours between sleeps...

...and when will I know if she needs to start on solids? It was easy with her big bro, he started waking more frequently...

...but then EVERYTHING was easy with ds! (Still is - he's an angel, thank goodness.)

ARGH!
