Sticker chart/reward tips for almost 4yo

How immediate does the reward have to be?
ds is becoming a pita getting to bed at night. He faffs around - sometimes for up to an hour before finally sleeping.
I was going to start some kind of reward system for him to get into pj's/bed/asleep without me having to nag him every step of the way.
Any ideas? I offered him a £1 coin the other night - but he didn't seem interested!

Ask him what he really likes (going out with you for a coffee or snakes and ladders etc)

Ours picked going to the pizza express and both helped drawing up a sheet with rules and if they stick to 5 out of 6 they can move their dinosaur on their chart, Reach no 10 and it will be pizza express.

It did take some time but in the end they reached it!

How long can they go before losing interest? end of the week? or next day?

on this issue i would leave it. Establish ground rules (i.e staying in bed) but he may need to faf around to unwind from the day, specially if he is busy like my LO. If he is not getting enough sleeep then put bed time a bit earlier

After we set the rules we go through them after dinner and if they met 5 out of 6 they can move it. Initially they werent interested but as soon as they had moved 2 places they were really getting interested as they could see result!

They are now on round 2 after meeting the first 10 but they stick to the rules much better now so they will be going to jamboray before we they know it!
