Hi fellow mums,
I'm new to this site but from what I've seen so far, you should be able to help!
I have 3 children, youngest is 4 and the oldest is 9. We've been doing star charts for them all over the years that have worked really well, but they're all getting bored of the rewards; ice-cream, trip to the museums, comics etc. Don't want to have to start spending huge amounts of money..... Any ideas?
Jessie

Hi Jessie and welcome!

i wonder with the oldest ones, maybe you could negotiate your way out of the star charts? There must come an age when they're not needed any more and if the oldest ones are not terribly naughty and don't need it daily as a way for you to keep control, maybe now is a good time to end it? Perhaps you could replace with something 'cool' that makes them feel grown up....staying up later, having a raise of pocket money, having a MP3 player or something?

Perhaps the 4 year old could continue on with the star charts if you want to - hopefully at 4 they are not so world weary about the rewards?!
