16 month old ds banging his head on the floor

What's it all about? He's been doing this for the past 3 days whilst screaming his head off. This suddenly starts and then stops on and off throughout the day. He's eating/sleeping normally so don't know what's wrong - he won't even let me hug him when he's doing it - he headbutted me last night when I tried to soothe him.

There was a thread like this a while ago. My ds2 ( now 3) went through a phase probably at about yours age of headbutting everything, walls, floor, tables, infact the harder the surface the better. I was very concerned, but all the advice says to try as best you can to ignore it. if your lo is otherwise fine, i would try that. It is difficult cos you worry they might hurt themselves but generally its just another odd phase. good luck
