Poor eye contact in 21 month old, is this a problem?

I have recently noticed that my 21 month old dd has problems maintaining eye contact, both with myself and other people. If you catch her by surprise eg. by tickling her she will give you eye contact but not for long. Is this something I should raise with the health visitor?

If it's worrying you then definitely. It's probably nothing. Perhaps she's just exerting some privacy for herself but HV's are for you as well as her and you owe it to yourself not to be worrying about nothing and you owe it to your DD to do something about it if there is something to do.

Thanks, I just would hate to be thought of as a pushy mum with her pfb. Will see the health visitor at the next clinic.
