obviously, being mine, she's perfect in every other way but how do I help her learn that her constant "cleverness" is turning her into a pita. she's driven her piano teacher away - (i've yet to talk to him about it but my guess is he got fed up with her nitty-picky way of trying to catch him out) - she's often to be heard saying "but you said xxx" ie she enjoys suspending all common sense and willfully (mis)interpreting everything people say literally. is it a common thing? a phase even? (says hatwoman hopefully...) Ultimately I can cope with her being a pita - I'm her mum: it's my job - but I'm scared that if she carries on it'll become a barrier to friendships. so isn't it also my job to teach her?
