My seven month old daughter will not stop crying. She has a cold at the moment but no temperature. I have tried to put her down for a sleep three times (she normally loves her bed and sleeps straight away) but have had to get her up again because of the screaming. She won?t let me put her down for a second and won?t let me out of sight for a minute without screaming the house down. It is driving me bananas, I am on my own as dp is working. Is this normal???? What could be causing this it is so out of character for her.. It has been going on for a couple of days now but a lot worse today..

Probably worth getting it checked out with the doctors. Could be an ear infection. Have you got a sling you could put her in so she can be close to you but you can still get on with things?

If out of character definately get it checked.

Hadn't thought of the sling thanks that is a great idea. Tried to get her to see gp but fully booked and as she has no temperature they dont really seem interested.

There are some horrid viruses around - she probably just wants cuddles and comfort till she feels better (I know I do croak)

My DD has just got over a nasty cold that stopped her sleeping and she screamed on waking - which was every hour at one stage - see my thread if you want advice I got from everyone. It was totally out of character for her too as she loves sleeping (we are very lucky). It also could be teething as symptoms can be very similar to a cold. try steam, Karvol vaporiser and co-sleeping if you can cope with that. Also try elevating her head as she's propbably waking up with a blocked nose.

Oh yes - saline drops are great - don't need prescription. Last but not least Medised. Only to be used if you think there's nothing else that can be done, but it acts as a decongestant. Good luck - hope you get a better night. xx

ear infection ? usuallly find it worse whwn they lay down . Has she been off her food aswell ?

I would normally give mine some capol or nuroefen to help with the possible pain of ear infection . Get her checked out tomorrow with GP .
