Can a 12 month old have night terrors?

In the past week my DD has woken up every night about an hour after going to bed crying and crying. I pick her up and comfort her and within 2 minutes her eyes are closing and she wants to go back to bed. I put her down and she is usually asleep before I have even covered her with the blanket.
I don't think she is in pain as she goes straight back to sleep and stays asleep until 7am. I don't think she's doing it out of habit/to manipulate me because she doesn't smile when she sees me (which she would normally do when she has managed to get me to come in to her room) and she isn't upset at going to bed.
So - do you think she is having a bad dream when she first falls asleep? Is she too young for night terrors? What do you think?

I think the important thing is that she cried out for you, you comforted her and she went happily back to sleep . 12 months is a funny age (DS is just past that) so could be any number of things...

just keep on keeping on, I think they can dream at that age, she'll suddenly stop /
it will be a phase.
