What's the latest you've heard of a child learning to walk...?

DD was 17 months, I took 18 mths and my sister 19mths, so slowness runs in the family. (We are all tall with big heads I think it is a centre of gravity thing rather than anything more serious!)

My DS (nearly 1) is looking like he's going to beat all records and as he weighs a ton this is worrying! I am going to get like Arnie lugging him about!

My friends little girl was 20months when she started to walk. She was also quite tall and heavier than DS although they were the same age.

My nephew walked at 18 months. He was only 4lb 6oz born, and was and still is very skinny!. My niece also walked at 18 months (different side of the family). She was slim not skinny!

my ds was 21 months before he started to walk, and before that he just shuffled around on his bum!! has never crawled and still doesn't play or travel on his knees and he is now 4.10.

my ds was also nearly 22 months when he began to walk - was a great bum shuffler. he worked out how to crawl after he walked i think. you save loads of money on shoes though and always know where they are. i was getting a little concerned and had asked for a physio referral. Howefer, the hv wasn't concerned and referral came through when he was about 25 months so we didn't go! he is however a great chatterbox so i think he put all his energy into that. I agree with the sore back thing tho!

my dd was 27 mths
but she had some reasons for this such as poor vision, low muscle tone - she crawled and cruised right on target

My ds is 20 months and still not walking. He crawled at 15 months, and is very good at it, so I think that is part of the problem. He pulled himself up on furniture at 18 months. He is tiny, and has small feet (3 and a half). He is also bloody stubborn, which explains a lot I feel!

DS1 was 18 months (and he didn't crawl either - was a pain in the ar*e tbh as he could only roll - in one direction - until he was about 14 months then he started cruising furniture)

DS2 was 10 months

I'm just hoping that DS3 isn't any earlier than that - it was a HUGE shock the difference between an 18 month old walking and a 10 month old. For starters at 18 months they have at least limited understanding of "no" - 10 months no idea at all LOL.
