Any ideas for getting through to a daydreamy 3 yr old?!

My 3 year old daughter has an amazing imagination, but is so caught up in her own world and games that she doesn't listen to a word I say, especially when tired! I have tried asking her to do 'listening ears', but she still drifts off half way through. She loses concentration half way through meals, and when she should be going to the toilet. SHe starts singing or just talking or waving her arms around! I don't know if my expectations are too high but it is driving me slightly mad! I would appreciate any ideas to get through and maintain sanity and calmness. ahhhhhh...

They are so preoccupied with other stuff sometimes aren't they. How long can she concentrate on meals?

Have you been following any of the 'how to talk so your kids will listen' threads?

Anyway you can join in her games to get your message through in a playful way.

It is lovely that she has such a vivid imagination.
