and she is only 20months!

Today was her latest one. Dd loves to walk, but will not hold hands unless she wants to! Normally it is not such a concern, but where we walked today had a main road next to the path (walking through town).

Because we are trying to get dd out of the pushchair, we didn't have that with us, so we put reigns on her.And she screamed!! Picked her up, and she screamed, tried to walk dd holiding hands, and she sreamed!!

She often screams if she doesn't get her own way, but when we got to a grassy area at the end of road, dd walked in front of us by about 2meters. She is acting as I did when I was a teen!

How can we help her understand that when walking near a road she has to hold hands (she is also like this if crossing roads).

She likes to hold hands with my ds, but he is only 3 himself.

What's best, apart from not going out anywhere?

Thanks
