What's the best....

cot toy to put in a 5 month old's cot? My DD wakes at 5.30-6am and would love her to play on her own in her cot for a while (a long while!!) So what things/toys have you got in your LO's cots to amuse them in the morning?

mine loved a fab thing that made sea noises, it was Fisher Price I think.

Sorry, have to agree with scattyspice. At that age, dd couldn't amuse herself. I think it's really too young. I'm afraid, you'll just have to bite the bullet and get up (says she with a 2 year old who sleeps for 12 hours a night ).

Dd is just starting to amuse herself in the mornings with her cuddly toys. She usually plays for 15 min maximum before she remembers that she wants mummy! She is 15 months now so you probably have a long wait.

she will lie under her play gym that has lights and music for about 20-30mins so just wondering if anyone knew of anything similar to go in a cot? She has a musical mobile in there which she loves watching but the music only stays on for 3 mins!

have tried that fizzbuzz she is just harder to put to bed as is overtired and still wakes at the same time!! Not looking for miracles just wondered if anyone knew of something good to pop in the cot she could watch/bat/play with for 20mins or so!

Have also seen little piano toys that you can strap to the bottom of the cot. Great for kicking (if she sleeps/wakes with her feet at the bottom of the cot).

Our ds loved books so we put different books in everynight when we went to bed so when he woke up he had something to look at.

we had one of those piano thingys at the bottom of DS cot. He loved it and would happily kick at it for ages

DD1 has entertained herself in the mornings from about that age, she just has a few soft animals. DD2 is now 5 months and often lies playing with her toes and looking at her mobile for quite a while until I drag my lazy self out of bed.
