Cleaning first teeth

Just realised that now DS (7 months) has a couple of teeth I need to think about cleaning them . Being really thick here, but when do you do this? I'm thinking after his bath would be easiest, but should I clean them after his last feed of the evening? Then again, he feeds frequently in the night...

at this age it's just to get them used to it so just give them a quick brush with just a wet toothbrush after the bath

We used these which you can get in some babyshops/supermarkets (Waitrose I think stock them) to start with - just becuase it was easier than getting a toothbrish in. Both our kids loved em! Someone told me that just a bit of muslin with a tiny bit of baby toothpaste is enough when they're diddy.

They look great. Got ds his first toothbrush, about the only thing he doesn't want to put in his mouth! I think you are sopposed to clean their teeth after their last feed, difficult for me as ds falls asleep and I'm not going to wake him to clean his teeth.

Hi, I used to give dd1 another toothbrush to play with whilst I got in there and cleaned them with another. Also used to clean them in bath because of mess.

I was told by the dentist that they should be wiped with a muslin square. Mine is 7 months too and her bottom two are starting to show. A muslin square would be easy at this age. I dont suppose Id put toothpaste on them at first, but when shes a bit older, Ill start.

Thanks for the replies - love the look of those finger toothbrushes. Will try and find one and will use a muslin in the meantime .
